Emily made our night! The wine was wonderful, the ambiance was so peaceful and inviting. Very grateful for Battle Creek, we'll be back soon!

What a cute little winery tucked away in an industrial looking side of the Pearl district! Came by for happy hour after work and loved how cute it was inside, the variety of (price) options for snacks, and the knowledgeable service! This may become my go to after work spot for wine

Me and my new beau had never been to this venue before and got quite lucky and got princess parking right in front. That was super awesome because it was really cold and I was still hobbling around in a walking boot. There were plenty of tables and the gal working there arrived at our table immediately with a carafe of water and menus. My new friend had never been wine tasting before, But he makes wine himself, plus it was his birthday so I wanted to make sure he had a good time. When our server came back we both had questions about the different flights. He selected the Ruby flight and remarked that these wines tasted much softer than his. He said you get drunk off his wines. So I told he should probably lower the alcohol content for a more balanced outcome. My Diamond flight was superb. The Yamhelia Vineyard Blanc de Noirs was my favorite and the birthday boy got a champagne flute of his own. It was really good made method champenois. It was sparkling fruity and dry. Just perfect. Although I'm typically not a fan of Pinot Noir I did really enjoy the 2018 Reserve Pinot Noir. It was full bodied not sweet with notes of plum. Their Wi-Fi was down so I had to write my credit card information down on a card. Wasn't super comfortable with that. But everything else was great. 2021 Review # 53

The membership is worth the relationship you have with the staff. Good wine, good friend, and a good time! Thank you Battle Creek for making this a weekly go-to place.

The staff here are very accommodating, we wanted to try as many of the wines as possible so we ordered one of each flight from the menu and the staff swapped out anything that would have been a duplicate wine sample. Dog friendly on the patios as well; there is a front and a back patio area. Great price on the wine flights and the charcuterie option came in a great to go box just in case we didn't finish it. Will be back for a red release we are waiting on ;) Make reservations for the better seating options and be ready to relax at this cute urban winery tasting room

Where do I start? Battle Creek Cellars came through for us in the most epic way when another venue cancelled on us for our bridal shower. With only a month to find something, and so many places having many limitations on food/space/decor allowance, Battle Creek kindly and quickly got us in, and accommodated all our "wishlist" items for this shower. Not only did Luke take such good care of us when we went to check it out (he could tell I was stressed, and got us seated to enjoy a complimentary glass of wine) but Linnea and Skyler went above and beyond by being quick with communication, allowing us to bring our own food in, scheduling everything on such short notice and even getting there 2 hours before open so we could set up and make this event so memorable for our bride. She even said the location was "better than she was even imagining possible" - and she has really great taste! The experience was so great, my fiancé and I actually joined the wine club. On top of the incredible service, the amazing people, the beautiful venue.... the wine is also top notch (literally the best Pinot, rose and champagne I've had). They always say "you'll never forget how someone makes you feel" - as corny as it sounds, Battle Creek and their staff made an extremely memorable experience for myself, our bride, and her family and friends with their top notch service and kindness. They truly went above and beyond, and I can't thank them enough. If you haven't already been, you're missing out. If you go, join the wine club. I promise you won't regret it! Thank you Battle Creek for saving the day, in the most incredible way! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

Great service. Clean, good layout, and awesome wine. Come in from time to time and they always deliver.

2/20/2020 - Some lovely wine tasting with two friends.

I had a wonderful wine tasting here with two friends. I love the space - it is pretty open for being in the Pearl - a lot of the spaces down there have that cramped feel to them so this is a nice change of pace. The service was excellent also and the wine sells itself so the folks helping you are not constantly asking if you want to buy bottles and such like at some spots. You can just kick back and enjoy some nice wines. We did not grab any snacks since we had a thing right after but they do have a good list of things. Did I mention that their wines are delicious?

I won a tasting for 4 and charcuterie board gift certificate at a YELP elite event not long ago so I invited some friends to join me for a Girls Night of wine tasting. Sadly, I had a much better experience at the YELP event. For starters, the charcuterie board I was given (not given an option) had 6 items, of which I only cared for one. My friends only ate the olives. I was excited to get cheeses and nuts and crackers but I didn't get that (it's what was served at the YELP event, so I had been hopeful to get the same) What I was given was pheasant pate, cucumbers, mini pickles, baloney and salami (and the olives). I ate 2 pieces of the salami, but the rest went untouched. For future reference, they should have given me an option, because it felt like we were given whatever they found in the fridge. We also only got 3 tastings; a bubbly, a white and a red. Not the 6 tastings I got at the YELP event. Because I was hungry and do not care for pickles and cucumbers - much less want that as my dinner - I ordered the baked haloumi and honey. For $16, I expected a whole lot more than a mini bowl of cheese (the size of a tuna can, only half full). I also didn't expect that the mustard accompanying it would have ghost peppers. We should have been warned - or asked if we wanted hot or regular (the menu does not specify) because my mouth was on fire after a taste - which meant my pallet for wine was ruined. No one else in the group likes "hot", so it also went uneaten. Because we only got 3 tastings, I ordered a glass of rose. That was the highlight. I know that you should not look a gift horse in the mouth, but my "prize" ended up costing me $30 (the cheese and glass of wine) and I left feeling really let down. On the bright side, the tasting room is lovely and in a great location, and they have good wines. While there is room for improvement, I think some small changes can make this place a success.

Cheese board was DELICIOUS- definitely recommend

Can I just say that Battle Creek the most magical space in the heart of the Pearl. It is so bright and cozy! I love that they were so thoughtful with their seating. There are sweet little areas to sit and enjoy a glass of wine, whether that be with a group of friends or if you're wanting a get away to work peacefully. The wine is SUPERB, and the associates are kind enough to edify you with the genesis of the wine and how it was curated. I LOVE THAT! May I add that the food is even more lovely! I'm so happy I was recommended this place. So happy you're in town, Battle Creek! If you haven't stopped by yet, may I suggest and highly encourage that you do.

FYI: the charcuterie vending machine was temporary, and they are now back to an a la carte charcuterie board menu. I had a tasting flight, and enjoyed the depth of flavors and variety in the wines -- lots of unique and beautiful fruit notes! I ordered the vegan balsamic cheese and OMG!!! Soooo creamy and delicious!! I also ordered the mushroom jerky -- well worth it! It's not as tough as beef jerky, which makes it easier to eat. And the flavor is bomb -- definitely tastes like mushrooms and jerky mixed together. The kind lady working the business on the day we visited gave me extra complimentary crackers and apricots. :) She was absolutely wonderful, and it's safe to say the service here was top notch. It was an unusually cold day in Portland (just after their unprecedented snowstorm this year!), so the seating room was crazy cold. That's my only complaint. Lol Highly recommend this business, and hope to go back for more vegan cheese and jerky when I can!

It's been a hot minute since I have had a cider from them but the cider I just finished enjoying was none other than Elvira's Currant Obsession. This was a currant cider and a type I don't believe I have had before. I have had currants before but it was when I was quite young and we had a currant bush in my grandmother's yard on the family ranch. We would grab some for a snack which was always good. I remember them being a tad tart. This cider in contrast us fairly sweet and while it was good I tend to go for more dry ciders. But Elvira was on the label and how can you not love Elvira? She's in season anytime of the year. But anyway the flavor highlights for a kind of less common berry is the red currant( or on the bottle it says Black Currant) , apple and sweetness. Tartness is there as well as dryness but it definitely is more subdued. And it makes sense since this is a berry cider. At any rate it was good to revisit Bauman's Cider again and thank you for tuning into another one of my Yelp reviews...unpleasant dreams! *cue the sinister laughing and more creepy organ music*
