We sat outside because it was sunny and our Shiba Inu was with us. The service was very good and the wines were delicious!

You need to come here. I am a club member at another urban winery in Oregon and I've been to a lot of wineries in Oregon. The wine here is outstanding. Come for the charcuterie vending machine and stay for the amazing wine. I was impressed by all of the pinot noirs, the skin contact pinot gris, and the cab sauv. Every wine tasted beautifully.

I found this winery when researching cellars that will delivery to home during the Shelter in Place restrictions (I'm writing this during the COVID-19 pandemic). I picked Boedecker to support local and was totally blown away by the wines I chose. I'm not sure you can go wrong with any of the Pinot Noirs and am looking forward to making my next purchase. God knows I need good wine right now!

Place was amazing! Me and my girlfriend stoped by while visiting some family in Portland! We left with a bottle of wine. Go check them out!

I have been a fan of the Boedecker's since they were in Carlton, and now their studio for the past couple of years is conveniently in NW PDX. This couple has a passion for good wine and its economical. They are throwing events like soup nights and harvest tastings regularly. In fact, last night, I went to a wine club happy hour pairing of their rose and two pinots. The tables were donned with white cloths and bottles of wines with candles lit. The wine was each accompanied by a wonderful appetizer - balsamic strawberries and goat cheese, shitake mushroom frisee salad and a crouton of pork and chutney. I have to admit - I joined their wine club on the spot! Glad you are close! Beautiful space for events too when its not filled with the oaking barrels! Tasting room is tres chic minimalism. Encourage you to stop in for a sip of your own!

I am obsessed with this team and this space. Portland, wake up! We have another amazing wine…read moremerchant with indoor seating for tasting. And, most of the team are incredible sommeliers with a few currently training to become master somms! What a resource for us! David and Marissa are very welcoming. From the moment we stepped into the space on Tuesday to participate in the blind tastings, they consistently taught us new information and led us perfectly through the journey of identifying wines. I also really enjoyed their energies, and Marissa matched our sass and zest for life very well. C&U normally have flights available at all hours when open, but, Tuesdays are special. Blind tastings are only hosted then, so, make your way down to learn something and to taste new wine. You can select either one red flight, one white flight, or both for a total of six wines to taste. We decided to do the six wines, so one red and one white blind flight. There are extensive resources to help you with this experience, and I would highly recommend water and snacks to balance the palette. Seating is not abundant, so, I would recommend arriving early if you want to guarantee a spot. I hope that they offer outdoor seating come summer. My only critique of this place would be that their hours could be longer or pushed to open later for more time in evenings for guests. 7pm closures are tough for most of us professionals. C&U also offers special events and courses to expand your experience. I will definitely be coming on Friday this week for the special German wine release that David told me about. Thank you, I cannot wait to come here often.

Perfect wine shop!…read more Service - The service is extraordinary. The knowledge of the staff, which are trained somms, is unmatched at any shop we've been to. It is obvious that the people who work here have passion in spades for wine and sharing it with people. For anyone who is new to discovering wines of the world this makes your journey so much more fun. We've never gotten a bad recommendation from the staff because they listen to what you like and then push you a little outside your norm, if willing, to really expand your experience. Price - The prices are fair, this isn't Costco wine so don't expect $12 bottles to reign supreme but they are usually within a buck or two of other local wine shops with larger footprints. With that said though, there is a wide range of prices that should help any budget find quality wine. Atmosphere - The atmosphere is great. They keep it cool to protect the wines and it is reminiscent of walking into a very fancy wine cellar. They are large enough to not feel cramped but small enough to keep that intimate feel. Quality wine glasses and seating areas make it very pleasant to stay for a bit and enjoy the experience. Selection - Selection is wonderful, they don't have as many bottles as a Total Wine or the like, but everything in the shop is thoughtfully curated. I don't think I would hesitate to grab any bottle as it would be a good example of the wine in that region. They have wines from around the world, so it is like taking a trip around the globe where you can stop anywhere you like. Experience - The overall experience at Cru and Domaine is special, from the warm welcome of familiar faces to just sitting and popping open a bottle (no corkage fee for wine purchased in the shop) and enjoying it while chatting with the staff and hearing all about what makes that wine so excellent. They also have a nice selection of Coravin Pours (wines they tap using a Coravin System to keep them perfectly fresh). Some of these pours are pricey wines you can try by the ounce because you may not want to spring for the whole bottle. Summary/ TLDR - There is no single reason that keeps us going back time and again, it's all the reasons, and all the reasons added up make this a PDX gem and a special place to enjoy wine with friends.

We sampled a selection of dishes and really enjoyed their smaller starters. The Burrata Tapenade was amazing! Our winner for the night. Desserts were also delicious. Their other dishes though, I'd say were alright. Great quality ingredients but the seasonings were a tad off. As a winery, their wines were a must. We got a couple of samples and tried the two pour combo which was a very good way to try a bunch of their wines. We liked all of our wines and definitely would want to try more. Overall, I'd say go here for the wine. Hit up their happy hour for deals on light bites but actual main dishes can be skipped, especially at full price.

Fast-forward to 2023 at the Pearl tasting room... and what an incredible experience! When you enter from the street, you are greeted with a warm ambience, plants, and quiet music that beckons you to the service counter. I was impressed with the design of the space and the curated seating areas, which all seemed to be slightly different. The team (clearly) put immense care into a space that adapts to different needs, experiences, and potential guests. After being seated, the staff was fantastic. Since this was my first time here, they spent a ton of time explaining possible experiences, and we ended up settling for the blind-tasting expertise and one of the AVA flights. This was a phenomenal experience since your palette opens up to learn more about the wines, varietals, and more with this double tasting. They have a perfectly executed food menu (in my opinion) that also welcomes you to try new foods and diets, especially when considering the Vegan Caviar... which is fantastic. Several food items would work for an array of people, showing the care and attention to detail the staff must have taken to create a space for everyone. I enjoyed the Willikaia Chardonnay the most, so I did leave with a few bottles, given that summer is around the corner. My only recommendation would be to add patio seating or to open up to the large windows and doors more often when the weather is pleasant. I look forward to returning with friends when folks come to visit. Thank you, Erath!
