Well call me excited to finally get to Coopers Hall. I had tried their wine at Nicholas Family Restaurant down off SE Grand. I have to say branding always catches me and to be honest I loved the branding on their bottles that Nicholas sells. On my first visit, I did the Cooper's Hall red flight. It was lovely. The only wine I didn't like was the Merlot, and I typically don't like them anyway. The atmosphere is very chill and classy, though you don't have to dress up it's casual. I love their concept of wines on tap, as their Cooper's Hall Red is very good and $11/glass but you can spend $3, buy a to-go bottle and spend $12 for a bottle of it! Then refill everytime you return. I came back last week for a girls night out and tried a build your own red flight. I liked 0/5 of the wines. So it's Cooper's Hall reds for me! I may try to sample the bubble flight next trip but I love the ambiance here.

Coopers Hall is a beautiful venue for weddings and gatherings, with its large open space, oak barrels lining the perimeter, lots of plants, and natural light. The large wooden tables with high stools or tables along a banquette provide lots of seating options in a very cool space. At night it's very dark with subtle light coming from the candles on the tables and strands of tiny white party lights above. Coopers Hall is not just for events, it's also a Taproom good for small group gatherings or couples. Friends of mine threw me a surprise celebration here when I received a milestone promotion. There were many options for tastings, flights of red or white wine, cider or beer, cocktails and full glasses of your favorite beverage as well. The food was fresh and delicious; everyone, especially me, enjoyed the celebration! Recently I went back with a friend, my first time back since Covid. We were there on a Tuesday night and for the majority of the evening, we were the only ones there. Not Coopers fault by any means, but it does affect the atmosphere when you don't have the talk and laughter from other patrons creating white noise and energy. For some reason it took some time for the waitress to ask for my drink order. I chose the red flight, four pours for $17. It included a Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Malbec and a Merlot which I'm not typically a fan of unless in a blend, but it wasn't bad. Really liked the Malbec from Rougue County so ordered a full glass afterwards so we could continue hanging out and enjoying conversation. Maybe it was an off night, but the service wasn't as friendly or responsive as I expected. When a place is busy, those working there have to hustle. On this night, since it was almost empty, they were hanging out with themselves and and didn't seem to realize we were there. Don't get me wrong, I will come back. I like the space and vibe, the wine and cider selection is good, and it's close to my house. They have a small parking lot and if you can, park there. Part of the street out front is now an outdoor dining area and the street behind is lined with tents and I don't feel comfortable parking my car there. So go early to score a spot in their lot. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 4:00-9:00. Since they host private events, do check their website. Better yet, make a reservation so you know they are open.

10/10 wedding venue! I'll tell you what our wedding planner told us: "1. They have the BEST food. 2. If you are the kind of couple that doesn't want to make a lot of decisions Coopers Hall is definitely the place for you if you are very particular about what you want then Coopers Hall might not be the place for you." Personally, as a bride experiencing decision fatigue, Coopers Hall was a godsend. Tables, chairs, napkins, dishes, serving style etc. is already planned. I only had to decide how I wanted them to fold the napkins instead of deciding what rental chairs I wanted to get and what serving style I wanted, and how many servers I needed and what dishes and cups I wanted, all of those decisions were already done, which was great. Coopers Hall is a gorgeous location and they set the tables beautifully and do an excellent job serving guests. They just are such prop at hosting weddings. OK and the food, the food was amazing. I am someone who cares deeply about the quality of food and this place did not disappoint. You benefit from having everything made fresh in the kitchen instead of it being catered and rubbery or mushy by the time people eat it at other venues. The chef is incredible, and has really perfected some fantastic dishes. My guests are still talking about the bang bang cauliflower. Definitely would recommend if you're looking for a one stop shop wedding venue.

Inner east side wine bar that also serves upscale bar food served mostly family style. A couple veggie options. The spring greens were surprisingly delicious and apparently their specialty and the cheeses were unique. My partner has the burger and enjoyed it. I got a wine flight and enjoyed that too. The taproom isn't open everyday and sometimes closed for special events. Overall, it was very good but very pricey for what it was. And I had to order extra dishes to fill up since they don't really have a vegetarian entree.

This is a wonderful venue for a wedding! For a friend's recent nuptials, Coopers Hall did a fantastic job. The large open space under the corrugated steel hangar roof was set up for the ceremony with 120 chairs in 10 rows. The tables were already set up with full silver, stemware and candles and pushed to the side. The rest of the winery was sectioned off behind a wall of rustic wooden barrels. The staff efficiently reconfigured for sit down dinner with 6 long tables (6x16=96) plus an additional 2 up in the mezzanine (+32) for a total of 128 guests. A dance floor area was also left open while the DJ set up in the corner. During the cocktail hour, the long bar was open while hors d'oeurves platters were floated out of the kitchen. The sitdown dinner reception was served family style in 6 courses and I'm glad for that because I got to try everything. Salad course was Arugula & Mustard Greens dressed with Oregon grapes, shaved fennel, walnuts & fig leaf grape vinaigrette. The first main course was Roasted Salmon with kohlrabi & apple remoulade and glazed radish. The second main course was a Rotisserie Chicken Chausseur with mushrooms & herbs, which was a very tasty, charred spring chicken cut into quarters. These were followed by a pasta course of orecchiette in a creamy mahon cheese sauce with squash, swiss chard & mushrooms. Finishing side courses were Fried Brussels Sprouts & Braised Carrots. Both vegetable dishes could have stood by themselves and the vegans at our table raved about them. Paired with dinner were Coopers' own vintages, a Cascade White and a Cabernet Sauvignon, both sweet and not too dry. It was a fun and pleasurable evening that the Coopers staff made all the more tasty and enjoyable!

My brother's wedding venue was Coopers Hall. I found out one of the reasons was the whole "all inclusive" thing. I dont know the details, but I heard, basically, everything was taken care of. The dinner, the location, dj drinks, snacks, staff, cutlery and tables and such, ... you know, All Inclusive... I started this review cuz the food was so freakin good! But, honestly, they pulled off an incredible wedding. I mean, everything and everyone was professional, clean, friendly, attentive... They had an open bar menu. So, as long as you ordered from that menu or any of their 'well spirits', its covered. On top of that, if you want a special drink, you can pay your own tab, and they'll make you whatever. I had an Angel's Envy Rye, and my wife had a G&T that she said was quite well made. Before the wedding, they had several staff with several kinds of appetizers in the "milling around portion. Plenty of surfaces, like wine barrels to place empty glasses, napkins, etc... and the staff were quick to spot anything that needed bussing. The staff also rearranged all the tables and chairs and such, so, when the wedding was over, all the chairs were removed, the tables were placed, and dinner was served. And my goodness... they did not skimp on the quality of the food... wow. They really outdid themselves. The trout with blackberries and corn... the pork... the raclette potatoes... Everything on the plate was amazing!! And there was plenty of it, too! (I was even able to take a small plate to-go. I didnt wanna waste it...) After dinner, they cleared the dancefloor and rugs were cut. Bravo!! A shining example of how to do a wedding!

A gorgeous space! I went here for a wedding and was stunned as soon as I walked in. The space gets incredible light and the barrels, strung lights, and hanging plants give it a rustic, sophisticated look. Just speaking towards the wedding catering but the dishes - chicories caesar, salmon with an amazing coconut curry sauce and grilled nectarines (wow!), roasted pork belly, and heirloom tomatoes were so delicious - I can't remember having a better wedding meal. Thank you Coopers Hall for this memorable experience! Can't wait to come back next time I'm in town.

Was looking for a great place on Yelp to stop by on our anniversary and we made a great pick with Cooper Hall. Decor was dope, staff was great, food was great, and the donuts are amazing. Great place to sit and sip wine, talk, and simply hang out. I recommend bringing your companion or that special someone here. The setting is real smooth, and again the staff was great. The free glasses of bubbly in honor of our anniversary was a great way to start our first visit here. Bartender was supreme, knowledgeable, and on point. We will be back and hope you will to...

Here for a conference and loved the place. Super cool ambience. Dinner was served and it was great - buffet style - but the bartender made me an old fashioned and let me tell you was I impressed ... it was delicious very comparable to the old fashioned served at The Brown in Kentucky. Yet again I failed to get his name but he was tall and slender . Let me say a couple people tasted my drink and proceeded to order the same and even funnier was that we saw many more ordering the same! Cool vibes

We hosted our wedding here in August 2022. It was a dream. The CH team was amazing to work with. Jane, our day of coordinator, went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. She made sure everything ran smoothly and that we didn't have to lift a finger. The food and drinks were amazing and had so many options to customize. Food was served family style and it was classy yet comfortable. I would recommend Coopers Hall to anyone getting married!! Photos courtesy of Michaela Elena Photography!

Decor is mostly plants and wine barrels - which nicely offsets the concrete, metal, and glass of the structure itself

My wife and I stopped in for happy hour, and had a wonderful time. I see lots of reviews from people who attended, or hosted events here, and it was pretty clear that the space would be a wonderful location for potentially large groups. But, it is also terrific for two people to stop in and enjoy drinks and a menu designed to go with them. One of us had a cocktail (a rum-based delight called Hotel Nacional, which brought back pleasant memories of the namesake in Havana), the other had wine (exclusively served on tap), and we shared a really nice cheese plate. The cheese did not come with the detailed history that you might get at Cheese Bar, but service was excellent - friendly, informative, attentive but never hovering - just what I always hope for. This is a lovely spot for relaxing with friends, no matter if it's one, or a large group.

Cool place! Came here for an event with 150 or some people from a conference. The wine on tap was all really tasty and the staff was really friendly about letting us try samples to decide which one we wanted. Food was great, served family style which isn't my favorite. But with this many people it seemed to work. Everything was really tasty. I liked the atmosphere with all the hanging plants, high ceilings and wine barrels. Great venue for an event.

This place is awesome!! From the atmosphere to the wine to the food. My friends wanted to try this place out and see what the rave was all about. First of all, the decor is fairly minimal, but works really well. I really like how it feels like you ate eating inside a warehouse...but not really. Second, the food was amazing. We ordered the whole chicken, braised short rib, fries, fried brussel sprouts, and the caesar salad. The whole chicken was a good idea for the three of us to split. The braised short rib was cooked perfectly and melts in your mouth. The caesar salad had this amazing smoked dressing that gave it a taste that I haven't experienced before. It was money! Third, our server Maegan was on point with serving and suggesting certain wines to try out. She made us feel welcomed and definitely enhanced our experience.

Since we are heading to an event, not far from here, we didn't have much time to take leftovers home, we didn't have a cooler, it's almost 80 degrees out, so we decided to eat something we could share. We picked the BBQ COHO Salmon Sandwich. Seared Coho salmon glazed with Bourbon BBQ sauce topped with baby Aragula and pickled red onions on a Portland French toasted potato bun. There's a $2 discount recess during happy hour (3-5pm). We were there at that time. (Is that the reason WHY the music were soo loud?) It was served with hand-cut fries. Both were just the perfect taste (delicious), and size for both of us. But, for some reason, I was still tempted to have something else. We looked at the desert menu, and decided on the Peach Crumble. Food taste so much better, when shared! Enough said. (We waited so long for this one, that we almost didn't made it to our event! We were enjoying our time here, that by the time we got to our car, we were rushing, and made it two minutes later we would have been late!) Negative: Music is too loud! Restroom could be improved. Do we need to see those words written on the board? I agree about ICE, but, that is not something we want to see.

It was a great place to slow down, enjoy good food, and spend time together. The smoked brisket hash was the standout. It came with tender brisket, eggs, breakfast potatoes, peppers, onions, and vegetables. The flavors worked really well together. It was hearty, flavorful, and had something different in almost every bite. We also tried the burger and fries. They were simple, solid, and satisfying. The fries had a nice crisp, and the burger was a good choice for a classic brunch or lunch option. I also really appreciated the non-alcoholic drink selection. A lot of places treat zero-proof drinks like an afterthought, but here they actually had fun options. The Phony Espresso Negroni was a great non-alcoholic cocktail and made the meal feel special without needing alcohol. Overall, this was a very enjoyable brunch with good food, friendly service, a relaxed patio, and enough variety on the menu that I would happily come back again.

Portland really is the land of deliciousness! We have not had a bad meal here, and Jacqueline was…read moreno exception! Dishes can be shared here, and our server suggested a few specialties for us to try. They also have a tasting menu but we opted for picking our own. We started with grilled oysters that were topped with kimchi butter and garlic. It was incredibly flavorful and perfectly grilled. We had the Little Gems salad, which was refreshing with the greens, radish, and green goddess sauce. The hamachi crudo is their specialty. The raw fish came with grilled pineapple and a bold and pungent fish sauce that meshed all the ingredients together cohesively for one sweet and savory dish! Absolutely recommend it! The lobster roll was absolutely delicious with bread that holds the flavors together. Cooked well and no notes here! The start of the evening was absolutely the cedar plank whole branzino. Wow, I have never been more impressed with a fish. Perfectly cooked with juicy, smoked flavors. 12/10 recommend! For dessert, we ordered an earl grey tea ice cream with blackberry, and peach sorbet. Both refreshing!

We came here because I heard they have a great seafood menu and my kids recently started enjoying oysters and other shellfish that used to be "gross". We got here about 15 minutes to opening on a Friday night and there was already a line. We were fortunate to still get a spot outside which worked out because it wasn't too hot and the outdoor space is much more spread out than inside. We ordered a dozen oysters to start. Love their various droppers with infused mignottes and hot sauces. Really made it fun to try out different combos. We also got the cold smoked mussels, the hamachi crudo, grilled oysters, lobster roll, rockfish, and the little gem salad. In order of least favorite to favorite, the little gem salad was good but just not that memorable or spetqcular the way the other dishes were. Next, the grilled oysters were flavorful with the garlic and lime but I wished there was a little more kimchi flavor and overall more sauce given the size of the oysters (they were huge!). The lobster roll was good and I appreciated the different take on a lobster roll but my favorite lobster rolls that really accentuate the lobster flavor and this masked it a little. The hamachi crudo was a surprise. It's a dish you see a lot and I was a little worried about how the pineapple might overtake the rest of the flavors but that didn't happen. The balance between sweet, savory, sour, and crunch from the peanuts was perfect and every bite was really enjoyable. Finally, my favorite was the cold smoked mussels. You never know how fish sauce and tom kha might overwhelm everything but again, their chef understands flavor balance really well. You could taste all the flavors, the smokiness, the slight bitter and sour umami flavors and slight sweetness to round it out. It was outstanding and highly recommend. They also have great cocktails that go well with their dishes. Really enjoyed the experience here and will definitely come back.
