    Matcha latte
    Jennifer M.

Typical Portland coffee scene where you're treated like a nuisance for asking questions. It's not everyone's 90th time at your business, questions are normal and to be expected on first visits to different shops. I simply felt like I was bothering the woman who took my order which is a weird dynamic. They charge a 20% "service fee" and aren't forthcoming about it, which is weird, but also my standard tip, so I personally was fine paying it repackaged as a fee, but I know this must really tick some people off. Ambience was nice, neutral, and airy, but the tables are a bit crowded and we were bumped several times (again, whatever). Now the important part: the food and drink! This is what earns Lei Brilla four stars in my opinion - the matcha latte was perfect! It comes unsweetened and I added two Splendas. The avocado was light, refreshing, and very fresh - YUM!

This always looks like a cute place when I drive by it so decided to check it out on a Saturday morning. The sun was out so it was pretty popular for the seating right outside. The espresso drinks were on point, but I wasn't a fan of the sandwiches. I had the chicken pesto sandwich, and immediately the chicken tasted really processed, like the kind of chicken you get at an airport cafeteria. I also didn't taste much pesto, mostly the balsamic vinaigrette that seemed to over power any of the pesto, if there were any in the sandwich. Overall it's a cute vibe, and maybe the other dishes might be OK. Service was mixed where the counter people was friendly but the busboy seemed a bit reserved.

Where to start? The food is excellent and executed nicely. Everything always tastes really fresh. I've been in about 3-4 times now and am never disappointed. The decor is really cute and when the weather is nice it's a delight to sit on the patio. This is a type of atmosphere I could spend multiple hours in. I watched before the opening how much the owner put her heart and soul into it, and how much she cares by the little details. It's also nice to have another place pop up that has healthy options. You won't be disappointed to come here!

Definitely a nice looking comfortable cafe with nice people working there. We got a matcha latte and it was nice and warm, tasted good. Funny latte art... my granddaughter thought it looked like a butt.

Salad was decent but the sandwich was ordinary. Definitely not worth the price and the hidden automatic 18% tip on a takeout order.

Adorable cafe. Turkey club is absolutely delicious. Smoothies are fantastic too. Cozy neighborhood nook in Nw.

The pastry cabinet did look good but on a hot day it was the perfect time for a matcha latte.

Inside is dark and cozy, perfect for a rainy afternoon or evening. My only complaint is there is a lot of wood and all the hard surfaces don't reflect noise so it's sometimes challenging to hear. They have a wonderful assortment of wines and not all local. For me, that's a good thing. Yes I love a Willamette Valley Pinot or a Washington Cabernet, but I get a lot of those when I'm visiting these areas, which I do frequently. At Muse you can enjoy a red from France, Spain, Italy, as well as local. Lots of whites and some bubbles, too. You can do a tasting of three half glass pours of your choice, or order a glass. Some nights they have tastings that they have preselected. Last night, based on Alex's recommendation, after telling him my preferences, I had the 2021 Crozes-Hermitage from Paris. It was a bigger red, but so smooth. Next I went with the Rioja Gran Reserva which was more fruit forward. Another winner. Their cheese and jam plates are fabulous, the cheese especially delicious, and pair perfectly with the wines. Have a feeling I'll be back frequently to this charming neighborhood wine since my friend works out next door, so it's a perfect meeting spot.

Amazing recommendations from the staff, as well. They know their wines! Just describe your favorite taste or feeling. No need to know wine lingo for them to know exactly what you want.

We were seated immediately, and our server (a young woman with glasses) was exceptional. She was super friendly, joked with us, and checked on us frequently, even though she was also working tables in the restaurant. When we asked to change the music, she was happy to oblige. The bar itself is cozy (one of the smallest in the United States!) but comfortable. It was pretty cold when we went and I don't think they had heating on, but otherwise I had no complaints. I ordered a glass of their seasonal sangria and a glass of the pinot gris. Bpth were nicely chilled and refreshing. We also ordered their samosas, which are absolutely excellent. I was pleased to see that almost everything on the menu is vegetarian-- I'll have to come back and sample some more!

I order 4 half glasses and everything paired perfectly with the food. I came here on Sunday ($2 per oyster) and the wines were excellent and the food surprisingly good. MUST GET: - oyster with champagne from romaine guiborat. - hamachi crudo - roasted maitake paired with local orange (Buona Notte mortadella from Columbia George in Washington). Maitake was served with pinenut and rice crumble, which was delightful. I put the sauce with hamachi crudo in the roasted maitake and it elevated the taste. It can use a bit more balsamic vignegrette or lemon juice to elevate the mushroom taste even more. - dessert wine (2021 romaine ogereau, chenin blanc) was delightful. Very balanced. Subtle sweetness with perfect balance of citrus notes. A bit of apricot on the nose. A fine ending to the delightful dinner. Solid: Spaghetti with morel. Paired with 2023 Bruno verdi from oltrepo pavese Italy. I really liked the pecorino cheese that tempered the salty-ness of the spaghetti. I think the food would be better with a bit less oil. The spaghetti almost reminded me of the Asian noodles vs traditional spaghetti.
