Bone marrow: Low-key, when I first saw it, I was very skeptical. I was honestly scared to eat it. Thank goodness I was with people who had tried it before and assured me it was a good idea. Then they handed me a little piece of bread topped with bone marrow and green sauce, and OMG!!! it was so good. This was hands down the best introduction to bone marrow I could have asked for. The bone marrow was incredible and such a unique experience. I never knew I needed it in my life. It literally melts in your mouth. All the flavors work together perfectly. It isn't oily or overly fatty like you might expect. It's buttery, smooth, rich, and slightly smoky. I even learned that the marrow bones come from a female cow. The salad was also really good, especially the sauce. Overall, the entire experience was fantastic. When you walk in, the atmosphere is calm and relaxing and not overwhelming at all. The seating is spread throughout different rooms instead of being one large dining area, and each space has its own vibe. It never felt crowded or rushed. It was easy to relax, enjoy the food, and have a peaceful meal. The only thing I'd mention is that it was pretty cold where we were sitting, so I'd recommend bringing a light sweater. It wasn't a huge issue, but you'll probably be more comfortable with an extra layer. We also tried the hot honey fermented chicken, and it was delicious. It had great flavor without being overly spicy. The chicken was all white meat, tender, and didn't have that strong "chicken-y" taste that some people don't like. Tasted like real chicken from a real farm! Best chicken I've had ever! Topped with a green sauce and corn that is actually insane. OMG!!! Not okay. Definitely an unforgettable meal. I will be coming back here again and again!!

On the edge of the bag by the water, Lechon is a unique dining experience with high quality food and service! Highly recommend! LOCATION: right by the water close to the edge of the downtown. Can be hard to find street parking, but it's one of the only option. Give yourself some time to find it. SERVICE & ENVIRONMENT: service was very accommodating and used open table to make an easy reservation. The host was nice and our server came by to check on us frequently for water and anything needed and how the food was. Great service overall! They had a little aquarium and bathrooms were nice and clean. The vibes inside were great, plenty of seating, and great atmosphere overall. FOOD: food was small in portions, tapas style, and full of flavor and quality! I love their what the chef is eating pre-set 6 course menu and definitely will try that next time. My favorite was the jicama salad, so refreshing, sweet, tangy. Highly recommend!! The duck and octopus were favorites as well.

Upscale Peruvian spot that is ideal for small plates/drinks before downtown events! They even got us out fast after telling them we had a show to see :) It is pretty spacious with cool aquariums inside - you will be sitting across from jellyfish at the bar. Everything I have had is tasty! Ceviche and Brisket Empanadas were both phenomenal!

This is my favorite place (so far) in Portland! Years ago, I went here while I was visiting PDX and had the best meal of the trip. The bone marrow was mind blowing! Now that I live in Portland, I enjoy heading to the bar for happy hour and trying new things. Everything has been stellar! Their burger is absolutely the biggest, best, juiciest and most creative burger I've had here yet! The bun is fresh, meat patty is thiccc, cheese is yummy and the sauces just take it over the edge. Ask for extra napkins! Their mushrooms, bread and egg sounds simple but it's mind blowing how much flavor it has and everything is cooked perfectly. Their corn and cheese fritters are like corn bread cakes with crack sauce. Their mushroom bao are bursting with flavor in fluffy fresh buns. They have a huge vegetarian menu and also cook meat very expertly. Something for everyone! Omega and Hunter run the bar with efficient and friendly service. They are masters of their craft cocktails. I love the ambiance. 80's music. Jellyfish tank. Separated dining areas keep the acoustics from being too loud and it gives it a more intimate feel. Bathrooms are clean. I hope you try this place and love it as much as I do!

What is wrong with this place? Racism? This was my first time experiencing something like this in Portland. The food wasn't bad, but I am never coming back. We arrived early, and the restaurant wasn't busy, yet they guided us to a cramped corner table. When they noticed my expression change, they made up a ridiculous excuse, claiming "people usually prefer corners." Meanwhile, every non-Asian party that came in after us was seated at the nice tables in the center. Every single Asian couple that walked in? Guided straight to that exact same corner. We eventually asked to change seats, and so did the Asian couple who came in right after us. After we moved, they filled that tiny corner with yet another Asian couple who arrived later. That's when it hit me: this is what subtle racism feels like. I will never step foot in this place again. I came here because I heard the food was good, but the experience left me deeply upset. A restaurant doesn't just sell food; it sells its philosophy and service. While this might have been an issue with that specific host, the owner is ultimately responsible for failing to properly train their staff. That host's poor attitude completely ruined our entire experience. Save yourself the trouble and avoid LeChon in Portland.

We came for dining month and we were absolutely in love with the food. The three of us left so stuff but so happy with such a delicious meal. That empanada start was so impressive, perfectly made with a great crust but soft inside. All the flavors were done so well and fit together perfectly. The tuna was so good on its on but the sauces elevated the dish wonderfully. Everything else was great too and the dessert tied everything together so well. We will definitely be back but that was such a value deal for dining month, you definitely won us over and guaranteed to return! Thank you!

This was an absolute favorite dinner on my trip to Portland! We showed up on a Friday night without a reservation and asked to sit at the bar, which was also full. There was a wait, but we were able to order some drinks while we sat by the front, and we were quickly seated after! The inside is warm and vibey with an extended bar seating that runs all the way past the open kitchen. The menu was incredibly with great vegetarian options, and it featured a unique mix of Peruvian tapas. The patatas were phenomenal with a delicious spicy harissa on top, and the Peruvian fried chicken bites were another table favorite. They had an incredible wine selection featuring bottles from the PNW. I will definitely be back!

Whenever I visit Portland my friends and I go to the best restaurants we can find. It's always fun to try a new place that's also highly recommended. Let's get into it. We arrived after a short walk as it barely drizzled. We ordered cocktails and perused the menu. The shrimp ceviche was bright and delicious. The scallops were cooked perfectly. The bone marrow was quite good. Corn cakes were cheesy and great with the dipping sauce. Mushrooms and a fried egg was divine. Smoked duck was VERY smoky. Cocktails were strong and good. So much so, we got a round of the passion fruit tequila cocktail we loved TO-GO. Our server Adam was great and he was personable and knowledgeable. We'll be back again soon to try the rest of the menu. 7.9/10 Thanks!

Hands down the best restaurant in PNW! Everything is bursting with flavors and perfectly cooked! Service was very professional and friendly. I also tried some mocktail here that was one of the best mocktails I've had. For food we tried: Pan seared scallops: scallops cooked perfectly and the polenta sauce is to die for, the corn flavor is heavenly. We were scraping the last drop of the sauce. Our favorite dish. Peruvian fried chicken bites: glazed chicken bites with really delicious and unique sauces with a little bit of corn! Amazing appetizers Octopus: again, the sauce is amazing and unique but the octopus was a bit tough this time. I think last time we visited, it was a bit more tender. The potatoes on the side were very good. Foraged mushroom: super umami, mushroom flavor packed! Flank steak: wow, this was mind blowing! Didn't expect such a great steak from a non traditional steakhouse, but I think it beats most steakhouses in PNW. The meat is cooked perfectly - the outside is slightly crispy and charred, and the inside is insanely juicy and tender. And the sauce is amazing. We literally drove from Seattle to try this restaurant the second time, and it was totally worth it!

I've been wanting to come here for months and finally decided to stop by randomly one evening. There is usually a wait so be prepared for that. It has a dark feel with a some community seating in one long food table area. Nice bar and plenty of family style booths/tables. I really like the large fish tanks they have - nice blue ambiance. Staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The seafood empanadas were tasty but not my favorite. Brisket empanadas are AMAZING. The shell is soft and the meat is very tender. Shrimp ceviche is a must - the sauce and the freshness of the shrimp is superb. Corn fritters... are also a MUST. Surprisingly very flavorful and the dipping sauce it comes with... i dipped everything in it lol. Peruvian chicken bites were a surprise - I don't expect them to sauced up and I loved it. They were crispy, sweet and juicy. Chicken lovers will love this. Grilled octopus: I usually love this wherever I go but this was a little bland and felt overpowered by the other ingredients. I recommend a sous vide method + searing, and making it more of the star of the dish instead of an equal contender. Dessert was amazing, light and flavorful. Can't go wrong with chocolate, pistachio, and ube. Drinks were amazing as well. The staff here has a breadth of experience and I bet you'll have a good time here.

Their happy hour is sooo good. We came when the restaurant opened so we got the best service possible. I definitely got drunk lol. The happy hour food definitely filled me up. I really like the fish tank, giving it a nice feel

    Pan Seared Scallops with polenta

Scallops and polenta, brisket and fontina empanadas, lobster corn dog... just a few of the must order items at Lechon. We attended the happy hour (btwn 4-5) and it is a few (2-3) dollars off full sized portions. For such a vibey restaurant (there is a jelly fish tank), I think coming for date night and doing the whole deal is well worth missing HH. If you happen to be there early, you'll save about 10 bucks! The happy hour burger was good, it's busy with buttery pickles and lots of frills (big too). But the fish is why you should come! The shrimp ceviche was so plentiful in a beautiful yellow sauce and crunchy delicious taro and other seasoned root chips. My only ouch is that unfortunately, the octopus was fairly chewy. My mocktail was kickin', cucumber NA gin and jalapeños tho! Good PDX service, hard workers bringing out gorgeous small plates.

We came for Happy Hour and drinks. I was kind of skeptical but man did it deliver. The drinks were right up my alley, we got the Mal Humorado and the Lechon Margarita. I would re-order any of those easily. Then for food I got the Shrimp Ceviche, Fried Olives and the Foraged Mushrooms. The flavors were insane especially on the ceviche which really stood out for me. The only downside it Happy Hour runs from 4-5pm which can be kind of tricky with traffic most of the time. That's just my one teeny tiny issue.

How is walk up on a Saturday evening right now, best time?

We went early on a weekend and lucked into a table! Blue hair special at 5:30-6 worked out.

    Are there any Vegan options?

They have a couple vegan options on their menu

If you can't find a table via reservation, can you still swing 2 spots at the bar? Is that a viable scenario for this place?

Yes, if you show up 8:30 you should have no problem. Regardless if you come during the busiest time the staff is helpful and cheery (they're a little short staffed so be prepared) so they'll take your name and seat you as soon as they can. Without… Read more

    Is it kid friendly?

We've been many times and seen a few kids (~10-12yrs). The restaurant is very friendly. I'd say if you're confident that your kids will like the food, go fo it!

Where is the safest place to park during the late evening for this restaurant? Is it a safe area to walk around when sun goes down?

There is a parking lot just steps away from Lechon. You can park there or on the street. Walking around the area after dark is pretty much like everywhere else... proceed with caution. Enjoy... it is delightful.

Any parking lots or recommendations to park other than the street?

What is the appropriate wardrobe for dining at Lechon?

It's actually casual, I just went in a summer dress, my husband wore shorts and a t-shirt or you can dress up as well.

    Outdoor dining available?

When we went, there were a few tables outside but that was in october

    What time is happy hour?

Their happy hour is pretty the same from open to 6 pm . Though they open later now at 4:30 pm

Does Le Chon allow you to bring your own wine and if so what is the corkage fee?

I would recommend that you contact LeChon directly. I am not sure that they have a set published policy.

Is this place good for large groups?

I would say so. When I was there I was with a group of five. I also saw a group of eight.

Does this restaurant have a tasting menu?

Yes. Its called the "Chef's Tasting Menu". It is posted on a blackboard in the restaurant and obviously the wait staff also knows.

If we arrive during happy hour, can I order off both happy hour and dinner menus?

Hello, Yes, you can absolutely order off of both the happy hour and dinner menus.

Ate kids allowed to do happy hour or is it just in the bar?

I believe they are allowed, HH is included in the main dining area

Can you make a reservation for happy hour?

Thank you so much for your inquiry! We unfortunately do not take reservations for happy hour as… Read more

When did they update their happy hour menu? (I ask because the menu on their website has outdated pricing vs menu actually in restaurant)

Happens all the time, things move fast in a restaurant when they're focused on your great food and an amazing guest experience. I LOVED this place and this is something that should be somewhat expected.

What time is happy hour? Are there happy hour cocktails?

    4:30-5:30pm

    Does Lechon still serve brunch?

They are open for brunch on week days. Not on weekends.

Do they still have beef tartare on the menu? I cannot seem to find it.

I did not see it. I do know that they change their menu periodically.

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

One of the best parts was how approachable the bartenders were. We asked for custom drinks based on our preferences, and both came out perfectly tailored. Creative without being weird, and strong without being sloppy. What really stood out was the price point. For the quality of cocktails, the prices felt very reasonable compared to similar craft cocktail bars in other cities. The vibe was also great -- relaxed, cozy, and not pretentious. It felt like a place where you could come for a special drink experience without feeling like you had to "perform" or order off a rigid menu. We liked it so much we actually came back a second time during our trip. Highly recommend if you're into well-crafted cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a laid-back but elevated atmosphere.

Some of the best cocktails I've ever had -and they're pretty generous with their alcohol. Overheard one of the bartenders saying they had been bartending for over 20 years, and it shows. Didn't get the chance to try any of the food. Seating looks pretty limited due to the size of the house, but I heard there's a patio out back. Definitely will be coming back soon.

It really does feel like you've discovered something special. The cocktails were excellent. Thoughtfully crafted, well-balanced, and creative without being gimmicky. Everything we ordered tasted intentional and high quality. We also shared a charcuterie board, which was a great call. Perfectly portioned, nicely curated, and a really good pairing with cocktails. What stood out just as much as the drinks was the atmosphere. It felt intimate, warm, and conversation-friendly -- the kind of place you want to linger. It was exactly the vibe we were looking for for a relaxed evening out. If you're into speakeasy-style bars, creative cocktails, and cozy, hidden-gem energy, Bible Club is an absolute must when you're in Portland.

The ambiance is downright whimsical! Great wine selection, gorgeous floral installations, and one of those spaces where you immediately want to settle in with a book in hand. But let's talk about the crudo. I still think about that crudo. Bright, lemony, silky olive oil - simple but done so well. We even asked our waitress if we can keep the leftover olive oil to use it with the bread we ordered lol The oysters were also fantastic. They were barbecued, which isn't something you see every day. A little drier than a raw oyster, but still full of flavor. Limited seating so be sure to call ahead of time for a reservation if need be. This feels like the kind of place you celebrate something special, and honestly, I would not mind spending a birthday here at all! Worth it. btw the alleyway walking up to this place is so charming.
