VERY difficult to find especially if you make a wrong turn on many of the odd streets by the freeway. They are basically hidden in a large business park. Came for the breakfast burrito, but it's one of those places that stops serving breakfast at 10:30 a.m. Why do businesses, especially ones with few customers, still adhere to this? The anticipated breakfast burrito with sausage underwhelmed. While it did include crispy potatoes necessary for any worthy breakfast burrito, it was overall bland. And it was placed in a paper sack although there's seating. The Lomo Saltado satisfied, the green plantains were particularly delicious. Similarly, it was served in a togo container even though I chose to dine there. Overall, the place is unwelcoming, including the absence of coffee. Almost seems like they could care less if you're there or not. The staff is polite and prices are more than fair. More like 3.50 stars. read more

Consistently delicious pork sandwiches. The aioli they make for it is to die for. It's pretty damn good! The only flaw is the price for the portion. The burrito is priced very similarly, however it is a lot more food. The sandwich is smaller - the cashier will tell you that. But then shouldn't they take a buck or 2 off the price? Just my 2 cents. I frequently visit. Multiple times a week. Maybe I'll let the guys know in person. drink selection could be improved as well! But the flavors here are authentic and vibrant. Amazing little place. The food is AMAZING! WE ordered for catering for the office. Had the breakfast burrito bar for 20 people. It was a huge hit! The taste of everything was spot on. Most of this 5 star review is for the owner Alex. I have tried to order from this place so many times via DoorDash but the restaurant has been going through some technical problems with them and haven't been receiving orders. I called the restaurant and Alex offered to make my order free of charge after I got a refund from DoorDash for the confusion. He is patient and understanding and had a great sense of humor about the situation that made my frustration ease up. I ordered the sausage breakfast burrito and the gaucha salad. When I tell you all that this was the best breakfast burrito I've ever had, I really mean it! It's made with crispy crunchy hash browns and ooey gooey cheese. Every bite made me sad because I had less of it to eat. To reiterate what some of the other reviewers noted, yes the burrito is on the smaller side but it's also only $6... quit your whining! My husband and I love Maria Latina's. We started out getting breakfast burritos on days we had late mornings and over time have tried more and more of their lunch dishes. Every thing has been fantastic every time. If anything it's hard to choose what to get because it's all so good! I love that they have a veggie breakfast burrito that actually has a ton of vegetables! It's so good. I also love the steak salad. Location is a little unexpected and parking can be a bit tight because it's in the office park. Restaurant itself is no frills but there is typically plenty of seating. read more

I am so moved by the taste and freshness of their food! I had the ensalada gaucha with the green plantain. The meat was flavorful and the plantain cracker (tostones) was warm and crispy. They gave us a green salsa that was slightly tangy and the best topper for everything. We also got the Saltado and the beef was flavorful and tender. I'm just so impressed by the quality of the ingredients here! Perfect balanced, summer food. Wow! How have I missed this place?! Ok - they are a little tucked away on the ground floor of an office building just off of SW 72nd, but follow the signs and you won't be disappointed! Now, the breakfast burrito. For $5.50, I expect a full-size burrito, not a child sized one. Also, the only places that I've found that roll their burritos into a short and fat log is this place and Qdoba. Why?! It tasted good, but I could barely taste the chorizo and although I asked for "hot" hot sauce, i don't think there was any on there. If I return, it'll be for something else. Went there for lunch. It's within walking distance from our new office space. This is nice to have something close and convenient. That gives me many options during the day, breakfast, lunch, or something on the way home. Walked in and it's counter order. Well that is good for grab and go type place. You can sit eat there, It's nice enough. Some high tops, some normal, and in courtyard are some picnic tables. Ok, the food here is very flavorful. I took the Saltado was so good. In the age of Covid-19 we are all living from take out FAR more leading to sometimes delightful accidents, as was the case here. The descriptions of the food made it sound interesting and it was! I ordered the roasted pork for my first entree from these folks and it did NOT disappoint- crispy and carmelized on the outside, tender and moist inside. Accompanying sides we're good as well and plentiful too- these are.generous portions for your ten bucks. In fact we were SO taken with the food last time we ordered that a re-match was inevitable. This time it was a beef fajita burrito and the Maria burrito-both excellent and served with fresh chips and a lime cilantro sauce- delicious! Great food, but this is more of a catering or to go business than a sit down restaurant (thus minus a star). I was recently here for a lunch with a coworker. We both had AJI DE POLLO, which comes with a green salad with mango dressing and a choice of black beans, green plantains, or sweet plantains. We both chose black beans; next time I'll be more adventurous and try the plantains. The food arrived very quickly in plastic to go boxes (did I mention this is more of a catering/to go place?). However, I can't say anything negative about the food. It was 100% delicious!! The chicken was creamy and slightly spicy, the beans and rice were the perfect accompaniment, and the salad with the mango dressing was great. We also got the green avocado salsa on the side to spice up our entrees even more. There was enough food for me to have for lunch the next day (that to go box came in handy). The food was so good that my coworker and I agreed we need to go back! I highly recommend that you check out Maria Latina. read more

Store front South American cafe/catering. Inside is very tidy and clean cut. There's a few tall cage tables to sit at. The ambiance is not geared toward dining in. The menu options look delicious. I went in for a breakfast by one get one free special. I had never been here before and wanted to try their breakfast burritos because of the reviews I read. I figured I would come during this special just incase I didn't like it I wouldn't waste my money. It was a by one get one free. I ordered 4 bacon breakfast burritos of different spicy levels. The burritos were so small, I'm hoping that they just made them smaller because of the special. You can see in my pictures the size. If that's the size of their normal breakfast burrito I will never order one again. $5 for a burrito smaller than my palm. If they usually make the burritos small, then it's not worth it. If they made it smaller because of their special, then their advertising is a deception. It should have said bite size samples 50% off. So either there food is ridiculously small or they are deceptive in their advertising. Outside of my not so favorable experience, their food is cooked well and had great taste. Ok! Went back for the 3rd time in 2 weeks! I'm upping my score because I love the food and the sweet lady at the cashier stand makes it a point to call you by name. All the food is homemade, fresh and healthy! Love the green plantains, salty and yummy! Love the eco bamboo plates! I feel so good after eating here! My only complaint is lack of tap water! I refuse to buy bottled water (it's Portland afterall!) And this place won't give you tap water. How hard would it be to have a self serve jug of water? Owner, I get you want to make money off drinks but it's a turn off to not get tap water! read more

I was lucky enough to order the Tasajo (shredded beef with green olives!) when they were still located on NW 19th. Sad that I found out about them the last day their cart was open but I have followed them to their new location at : 7100 SW Hampton, Suite 130 in Tigard (across from Kaiser Dental). They have grab-n-go sandwiches and amazing salads if you don't have time to wait for your food to be made. They still have all the items that were on their cart menu but today I grabbed the Chipotle Chicken Salad with mango dressing and pico de gallo tropical & black beans. It's a good thing I don't live to close to Maria Latina because I would probably stop cooking! This food is made with love and care. I would have never expected to find it such high quality food at such a good price and in an office complex in Tigard. You should visit them! You won't be disappointed. I really enjoy the meals at this restaurant . They have a huge menu of freshly made breakfast and lunch items. The portions are good sized . The flavors and ingredients are so fresh tasting. We had Maria Latina catered to our office (we are in the Pearl district in Portland) and everyone loved it. We had the Peru AJI DE POLLO which was definitely the favorite dish. The salsa and sides were also amazing. There were several coworkers eating the tropical pico de gallo salsa straight up. I personally LOVED the grilled vegetables and went back for seconds on those. Even the salad was good, the dressing not only tasted good on salad, but would taste great on ice cream (coworkers volunteered to take the extra home just for this). We were originally going to get dessert elsewhere, but decided to add the extra cost for dessert, and boy were we happy we did! The churros were exceptional and I wish we would have ordered double! As for the customer service, we worked with Alex Flores. He was very patient with us when we were figuring out what exactly to get. He came right on time and the set up looked fantastic (very professional)! He even followed up afterwards to see how things went.
