Worst food ever. The menudo was filled with oil and the enchiladas were cold and the meat was over cooked. The best thing was the corn tortillas. read more

Finally stopped in after hearing about this place for years. Carnitas and al pastor tacos were both very good. Current times seem to be hurting them and the Latino community in general so please support these guys. Buy some extra tacos for some friends and tip extra well. I'm going to try to organize some neighbors to order twenty or thirty tacos at a time at least once a week. read more

Bomb and very authentic Mexican food! Highly recommend if you're looking for authentic. It's not fancy at all but amazing food.

Al Estilo Michoacan has been my husband's favorite Mexican food in Beaverton sine it was a food truck in parking lot. It's the most recent restaurant in a location that has changed cuisines several times, but Al Estilo Michoacan is the longest lasting one there and deservedly so. The interior is not impressive. The space is clean, but old and has several store fronts in it. There's a shop selling waterless cookware in the space as well. I don't remember what the other store fronts are. We tend to think of the space as the Star Ferry after the neon sign above the counter. We like it best when the owner is there. He is friendly, personable and remembers my husband when we visit. Our last visit was hubby's birthday because he wanted tacos for his birthday. Hubby loves the al pastor tacos there, but everything we've ever tried has been great, even the day I just wanted beans and tortillas. Since we were doing tacos, I had a couple of chicken tacos and a couple of carnitas ones, no cilantro. With handmade tortillas, these stuffed tacos were filling and made a great dinner. Recommended! read more

I really wish there was a four point five for this place. First time ordering and I ordered the Family style dinner for 50 bucks and I could not be more pleased. Beef chicken and pork all freshly ran over the grill, with beans, rice, grilled veggies , fresh veggies, home made corn tortillas and even napkins and two different sauces. All was very hot and still moist- the refried beans were as good as my own and for 50 dollars it is a good value as no matter what kind of meat (or even none at all) for your picky kids they have you covered. Unless of course you want ground beef in which case why order from here? My Son is especially picky and if it isn't pretty close to a certain chain's food he looks kind of funny at it, but these beans will win him over. I am just finishing up my second plate and it was just as delicious as the first- top notch eats served family style and for a reasonable price. If you can live without all the fancy separate packaging these are a pretty good deal. Very nice to have a Family-style option as I run a Foster Care home and this lets everyone choose what they like. Scratch that. Less than 24 hours go by and the cheapening begins. HALF the frijoles from the last order shoved into a too-small container equals a MESS and a reduced score. Nothing doing folks, I'd steer clear until the owner decides beans and styrofoam aren't a thing to skimp on with 50.00 orders. I won't be re-ordering untilI am satisfied the earlier quality and quantity have been restored- YOU try to feed four people with a one cup serving of beans- read more

Best tacos! Don't judge a book by its cover. The restaurant is simple,a step above a food truck, but the food is what it's all about! They are on Allen Blvd. sandwiched between two other taco places (which aren't bad) but after going here it's my new favorite ( Im Mexican and grew up on tacos) Tacos, sopes, gordita are what we have tried so far... Looking forward to trying the Menudo. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed! Yes they take debit and Apple pay read more

I don't typically get to eat in Beaverton I'm really happy I found this place. My kids enjoyed the kids meal and my husband and I found the enjalada delicious. I recommend this place because it seemed very clean and friendly. read more

Found this place by accident while we were hungry waiting for a friend that lives in the area. These are by far the best carnitas tacos I have ever had. Great flavor, juicy meat and the perfect corn tortilla. Plus they have a huge speakers that I can only assume they use for awesome late night festivities. Pastor and Asada were great as well, I said let's get a taxi and we ate multiple and took.more to-go. Well done! read more

Wow... I've probably had about 10k tacos in my life al pastor, birria and even the carne asada blew me away. So good... it's difficult to make carne asada stand out, but it does here. 3 tacos w rice and beans (rice and beans are a must) plus jalapeños fritos. Maybe the best in Portland. read more

I have eaten this location numerous times over 5 years or so. Somewhat nondescript low profile eatery. Simple decor of tables and chairs. Nothing fancy here. Kitchen is in full view from dining area. Kitchen and order desk has always been manned by what appears to be elderly husband and wife (?). Both have always treated me very politely and courteously. Kitchen has always appeared very clean and orderly. Menu is simple Mexican home cooking. Mama cooks delicious food. Meats are nicely seasoned and tender. Taco's are a favorite of mine. Recommend the lengua (beef tongue) or pork carnitas. I often have their hearty chicken soup. Tortillas are handmade there. If you do stop by for a pretty good meal, member Mama is working kitchen alone. She will not disappoint! read more

Has amazing food truck type burritos and tacos. The burrito is 10$ but it's way bigger and has more meat than a normal everything burrito. I also like that they didn't add just 3 diced onion chips, there was a fair amount of onions as well. Very authentic Mexican food read more

I was really craving some mexican food and I've always wanted to check this place out since I drive by this plaza so often. I'm so glad my boyfriend and I did because the food was amazing! The employee served us our food and even included multiple hot sauce bottles to choose from. The place didn't look like much but it's also this kind of "hole in the wall" vibe that have bomb food and the best people working there. The chimichanga and burrito are both stuffed real good and equally satisfying. We definitely will be coming back again! read more

This place has the best tacos I had in 12 years since I moved from Mexico. My husband is white and he loves this place too. We have tried Mexican food all over Portland and this place is the best one. Is a very modest place so don't expect full service, but the Tacos are delicious. They made them with fresh homade tortillas. We love this pace so much that when my relatives come from California when take them there. Is like eating tacos in a taco stand in Mexico read more

Very good street tacos. The chorizo and lengua were very good. The El Pastor tacos were above average. The owner is friendly and the prices are fair. You are not going to Al Estilo Michoacan for the ambiance, but authentic Mexican food prepared well. read more

Looks can be deceiving. I should know, I just found an authentic restaurant and I live less than a mile away! It's been almost undercover quietly tucked in between a super mercado and some kind of nutritional supplement store. But, as soon as you walk in and see and smell the steaming pots of food you know everything bus going to be alright. Then you are greeted cheerfully by the patron. Full disclosure: I can't give 5 stars because, parking is shared by other businesses so, not great and decor is clean but quite "rustic" so, don't expect much but, for fans of soccer, there is plenty of seating and a big screen TV that is pre-tuned to fútbol soccer. Tortillas are handmade, the salsa is good and even though the menu is handwritten, it is dense with choices of authentic Mexican food like "guisados" and even a few surprises like Salvadorean pupusas and Cuban sandwiches. If you like dishes that are hard to find (at least in Oregon) this is your spot. Since tacos are emblematic of authenticity, they are a great way to gauge a restaurant's worth and they did not disappoint! My wife tried chicken and I had "Al pastor" the tacos were piping hot and good news, not overly salty. Do NOT judge a book or taco joint by its cover. See what I did there? read more

Great food and great service. Especially appreciated the friendliness and welcoming atmosphere..

Probably the best carnitas I've had in Portland/Oregon. Asada and pastor were great but I had to go back in so I could take a few more carnitas tacos home with me...I would eat them everyday if I could...This place is legit!!!!!! read more

Meh. Food was prepared to order, ingredients provided as add-ins such as cilantro and limes were day old, wilted and mostly stems in the cilantro. SO got menudo, it was red, had no hominy, but did come with a large knuckle bone (true to some region's style of menudo). Unfortunately the menudo was greasy, with overcooked tripe (slimy without honeycomb tripe, which is a superior type of tripe). I ordered chilaquiles. They were well spiced, flavorful, but made with tortilla chips and sauce with eggs on top...essentially "wet breakfast nachos". This was not great, but was presented with all of the elements that one would expect for traditional chilaquiles. Homemade corn tortillas were delightful- which is what bumps this review up to three stars. The atmosphere was downright straight out of Mexico, complete with a large stage for a band/DJ for parties/quinceañeras. Nothing to write home about unless you want to have a Mexican style event. Service was efficient, but not exactly friendly. We will not return. We prefer to dine, not just scarf mediocre food. read more

This is a hole in the wall place but clean, service was great and food even better!!! Steak fajitas are bomb! I'll be back!!!

Really happy we were not turned around by what didn't look like a restaurant. The tacos were amazing and I'll be back when I need a fresh handmade tortilla and delicious fillings. Excellent bites. read more

This establishment obviously is a small family run restaurant. Not much fancy nor even proper decor. Stuff scattered everywhere but it did not deter anyone who enjoy authentic Mexican food from coming. It's situated at a block building so it might not be visible from the street. The food is really good. Fairly authentic. So if you're here for the food, then the decor is not important. Most Mexican restaurants in Mexico seemed to operate like this anyway. a taste of Mexico in Beaverton. read more

Very good authentic Mexican food . Killer street tacos good Fajitas burritos are huge and very good. Great little neighborhood joint.

Carnitas, Asada, Chorizo, Chicken and Pastor tacos were my first choice to get a feeling of this place, warm fresh tortillas, great flavorful tacos, selection of 3 spicy sauces, which to be honest you don't really need to improve the taco flavor. From the outside it does not look like a restaurant, but the food makes up for it! Highly recommended read more

Our search is over! Finally found the BEST Mexican Restaurant in the Portland area and it's 1.4 miles from home! We have eaten Mexican in NE, SE, SW, Gresham and Mt Hood and found this gem within walking distance. Although, doubt we could have walked home after eating the whole thing: Harachi, a Carnitas Taco, and Enchiladas Verdes with extra beans. Delicious from the first bite to the last. Mild green sauce was exceptional, too. Who cares about the decor when the food is so good? My gratitude to all those who ate here before us and contributed their positive reviews of this restaurant for our edification! read more

Best fucking Mexican I have had in a while, staff is nice, food is great, it's such a wonderful hidden gem

Easily the best tacos I've ever had. They are making the tortillas fresh in the kitchen as you order, and the warm, delicious tortilla is unbelievable. I ordered two al pastor tacos and was so pleased. The pastor was definitely spicy (which I prefer), and had so much flavor. I am thinking of going back tomorrow for more again. Perfect, is all I can add. read more

Great food at great price. Had the pollo tacos and quesadilla plate! Staff was very polite and courteous.

This place is a hidden secret tucked away in small shopping center with easy parking. Just what our family was looking for delicious tacos made with good flavor . Tortillas were soft and fresh we had 2 al pastor, 1 carnitas and 1 asada they were all good. The chicken tamale had good flavor a little more dry then expected, but I'll give them another try . We look forward to trying other things on the menu. read more

The best. THE BEST. Had lots of tacos in my time from around the globe and nothing is better than Al Estilo Michoacan. The carnitas tacos melt in your mouth with the perfect combination of tang and spice. The meat is always perfectly seasoned and grilled. The homemade tortillas are out of this world. This place is great! They made us vegetarian burritos and the owner couldn't be nicer. We will be back frequently. Can't recommend enough

My wife and I were incredibly impressed with the flavor and quality of the food. My wife got the mixed fajitas and I got Machaca. Even though though Machaca wasn't on the menu, they didn't baulk at making it for me. Handmade corn tortillas and horchatas to boot. So good we gorged ourselves. Can't say enough!
