Very family oriented restaurant. Simple decorated, Latin Music in the background but very inviting. We came here on a Wednesday at 6pm and it was not that busy yet. Menu has a lot of Delicious Peruvian options including some diverse Pisco Sour Peruvian drinks. We were seated immediately and our order was taken promptly when we were ready to order. For drinks we had the Maracuya Juice and the Chicha Pisco Sour. It was very smooth. For food we ordered Chaufa Rice with Seafood, Pescado Saltado and Ceviche Mixto. Each dish was pretty big, even to share and take home. Flavor was exactly like Peruvian food should taste (my mom is Peruvian and I have been in Peru a few times). On a long drive, we visited this wonderful Peruvian restaurant which was highly praised and well reviewed. Totally well-deserved! Sharing a large parking lot in a strip mall, the restaurant had simple decor apart from the wall art and the service was friendly and warm. Starting with a Corona served with ice-frosted mugs, warm bread with butter was served as a complimentary appetizer. The mixed seafood Cerviche was just bursting with flavor in its vinegary goodness, packed with fresh seafood. I had the deep-fried ribeye with pesto spaghetti. Portion was huge! Their complimentary bread comes out toasted now and the delicious accompanying verde sauce is just as good as ever. I love Peruvian food. And it's nice that is close to home instead of having to into Portland. Who doesn't love ceviche? You gotta start your meal with an order of tasty ceviche. I got the ceviche de pescado. Delicious. I've been here a couple times and forgot to review. I've also had the Chaufa de pollo. I love it. I am lucky about my fried rice, and Chaufa is the only other one I like besides Thai fried rice. This visit I got lomo saltado. Everything about it is awesome. I would love to see alpaca on the menu. Delicious | Great Service | Great presentation $$ Wow, I'm so glad we stopped by here after our friend recommended this place. We came here on a weekday about an hour after they opened. The interior is clean, and that mural in the back caught my eye! It's a beautiful painting of Machu Pichu. Service was quick and very helpful. The lady gave us suggestions, the most popular dishes: Ceviche, lomo saltado, and aji de gallina. There were three different types of ceviche dishes, so we went with the shrimp (camaron). The lomo saltado is a robe eye steak dishes with fries and rice. The aji de gallina is a creamy chicken dishes with potato and rice. The presentation with the ceviche was so nice! The ceviche de camaron is a MUST! That powerful lemon sauce is so good and cuts through any fish taste, if you are not a fan of a seafood taste. I can see this appetizer frequently eaten during the summer, as it is very light and refreshing. Love the shrimp. It is served with huge corn kernels and corn nuts (?), and sweet potato. The sauce has a little bit of a kick to it if you eat some of the red pepper flakes. Whoa, I'm so glad I paired this dish with the aji de gallina because the creamy sauce helped put out the hot fire. I'm sensitive to any heat, unfortunately, like even pepper. The ceviche was absolutely excellent though. The aji de gallina was a very creamy chicken dish with a scoop of rice; it is a comforting dish. The lomo saltado rib eye dish is delicious too. I can see why many order this. It's tasty with the fries. The meat is good quality not like other places where you have lots of grisel or fat, and it has good flavor (not dry). We loved all three of these dishes and plan to get them again along with something new. Great Peruvian spot! The restroom is very clean. This place is a great find. There is ample parking in the lot. Nearby is a good tienda, La Nortena, if you are looking to pick up good tamales or Mexican bread treats. read more

Lima Peru is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. I love Peruvian food, and Lima is definitely the place to go. My favorite dish is the tallarín verde, but their lomos saltado was also really good. I thought I was getting a lunch special of beef stew which I have gotten on a number of occasions. Beef stomach was actually the lunch special. It was served mixed with french fries. That dish wasn't for me. I told the waitress that she had said beef stew for the special and I got something different. When asked about other options she didn't give me any. She kept repeating that she knew she had said beef stomach even though I heard beef stew. I would have paid for something else. I was really hungry and just wanted something else to eat. She kept up the defense of beef stomach even though all I wanted was some other food. When asking again about another alternative she said, "yeah, pay the check". I did. Terrible service, food is... fine. I've been here a few times (reminds the wife of our lives back in Miami) and the service is always a gamble. Ask for ice in your water and you'll get the look. Ask for extra sauce and suddenly you're asking for a kidney. This time I decided to make it easy and order to go. I walked in and ordered two whole chickens with a side of fries. The woman at the counter acted like I had personally ruined her day. She told me they only had one whole chicken left--which felt odd considering this is, in fact, a chicken place. I shrugged, accepted my fate, and agreed to wait 20 minutes. Fast forward 50+ minutes. Two other customers walk in, order chicken, and magically receive their food. At this point, I realized the plot twist: she didn't know I understand Spanish, and I literally heard her give my chicken to someone else. I know it's "just chicken," but that was pretty wild--and honestly kind of comical. She then checked on me twice to let me know it would take even longer. Incredible. A masterclass in customer service. I've been here before, and while the sauces are good, it's not worth $25 for a whole chicken--or the emotional journey that comes with it. Ordered Lomo Saltado and Fried Plantains to go last night for dinner. Total was $35 approx. For the price I was expecting a good quantity of food. I was disappointed. The plantains were $10 and the Lomo saltado was $25(!) When I got home, I saw the portion and immediately asked myself why this regular sized plate was twice the price it should have been. It contained regular ingredients - fries, steak, onion, tomato, sauces. It tasted fine. But for the price of it all, it wasn't enough food for the unreasonably high price. This was my first time there and I probably won't go back as a single guy. Although the food was good, the prices, in my eyes, are twice what they should be. It's easy to bypass this slightly run-down looking restaurant in a little shopping plaza. But trust, Lima Peruvian should not be missed...there's a reason families flock here for meals. It's delicious, authentic, and very filling! The prices are also reasonable especially since most of the dishes are meant to be shared. I'm not Peruvian so I can't rate the authenticity but I'm pretty sure it's authentic as they come without being in Peru. It was such a good experience. Staff is friendly. The decor was nice and rooted in Peru. I had the yuca dorada the seafood mix saltado and lomo saltado and chicha which is the purple corn drink in the picture. I was surprised by the flavor and how refreshing it was. I can't wait to go back and try other dishes. The negative for me is that it's a drive from me.. This is a top notch seafood place. The assortment of soups, paella all had fresh crab, scallops, octopus, fish and delightful seasonings. A little saffron and sautéed red pepper binds the recipe. House bread seems ordinary but it's pretty tasty and. comes with two house sauces that are like a cilantro chutney great for a dip a little spicy but not bland. There's a bit of a wait and the service can be slow but give the small business a break. There was one waitress running around. I would make multiple 5-star reviews of this place if I could, but I'll condense it to a single one. Being Peruvian, I always make it a point to find Peruvian restaurants wherever I am, whether traveling or at home. This place has been by far the most consistently good spot in terms of food, service, and overall ambiance of a restaurant with cultural details. I generally stick to my favorite plates in Peruvian cuisine when going to places, but here, I've explored most of their menu and everything has been delicious. A few notable dishes to consider: Ají de Gallina (Classic dish, the execution of sauce and flavor is perfect), Lomo Saltado (A general favorite for those unfamiliar with Peruvian food, tender meat and a flavor explosion), Pollo a la Brasa (not common in most places because they need a specific oven, but they nailed the flavors here!). Also try a traditional chicha morada to drink and some alfajores, lucuma ice cream, or the various candy sold in the front (Doña pepa is my favorite, but they don't always have it). Hands down one of the best meals I've had in Portland in awhile. Completely blew away by how delicious and homey the dishes here were. Super unassuming from the outside but they have better Peruvian food than some of the ones that I've had from "fancier" restaurants. The staffs were very friendly. You can feel how tender and bounchy their seafood is. Loved the toppings of different corn kernels and sweet potatoes. The Lamb Stew Special on Saturday was fall-off-the-bone tender. The cassava added to the richness of the stew, as well as the white beans. Everything with rice in one bite was soo flavorful and comforting. The Pollo a La Brasa may have been the best chicken dish I've ever tasted. It's charcoal grilled chicken on steriod. Super crispy skin, juicy meat. I ate outside for lunch in their bench seats located by the front entrance. The waitress was helpful getting my dog a bowl of water. I ordered the Lomo Saltado. I'm Peruvian American and every Peruvian restaurant I visit I order the Lomo because if that isn't good then I pass on it. I must say that the Lomo Saltado was the best I have had in the US and I compare it to the best in Peru too. The steak was cook a perfect medium and juicy cooked with the right amount of soy sauce. The fries were fluffy and had a slight crunch. The onions were cooked nicely with a slight crunch. The rice was fluffy too. I order an alfajore and I swear that was straight from Peru too.
