Authentic Peruvian food! This was as good or better than food we've had in Peru itself. Seafood was cooked perfectly and everything was delicious. Service was fast, portions were huge. Can't wait to come back!

This place just keeps getting better and better. They've done some slight rearrangements since I last visited. More tables and some remodeling. Their complimentary bread comes out toasted now and the delicious accompanying verde sauce is just as good as ever. The ceviche is fresh, the bistek is cooked well and the Milanesa is crispy, crunchy, and delightful. Service has always been top notch here. I love this little gem!

Loved the tallarin verde con bistec frito! Loaded with sauce, and the beef was so tender! Service was friendly. Plenty of parking in the lot. They give free bread with a green sauce. Portions are decently big! I devoured my plate. Can't wait to go back :)

Delicious | Great Service | Great presentation $$ Wow, I'm so glad we stopped by here after our friend recommended this place. We came here on a weekday about an hour after they opened. The interior is clean, and that mural in the back caught my eye! It's a beautiful painting of Machu Pichu. Service was quick and very helpful. The lady gave us suggestions, the most popular dishes: Ceviche, lomo saltado, and aji de gallina. There were three different types of ceviche dishes, so we went with the shrimp (camaron). The lomo saltado is a robe eye steak dishes with fries and rice. The aji de gallina is a creamy chicken dishes with potato and rice. The presentation with the ceviche was so nice! The ceviche de camaron is a MUST! That powerful lemon sauce is so good and cuts through any fish taste, if you are not a fan of a seafood taste. I can see this appetizer frequently eaten during the summer, as it is very light and refreshing. Love the shrimp. It is served with huge corn kernels and corn nuts (?), and sweet potato. The sauce has a little bit of a kick to it if you eat some of the red pepper flakes. Whoa, I'm so glad I paired this dish with the aji de gallina because the creamy sauce helped put out the hot fire. I'm sensitive to any heat, unfortunately, like even pepper. The ceviche was absolutely excellent though. The aji de gallina was a very creamy chicken dish with a scoop of rice; it is a comforting dish. The lomo saltado rib eye dish is delicious too. I can see why many order this. It's tasty with the fries. The meat is good quality not like other places where you have lots of grisel or fat, and it has good flavor (not dry). We loved all three of these dishes and plan to get them again along with something new. Great Peruvian spot! The restroom is very clean. This place is a great find. There is ample parking in the lot. Nearby is a good tienda, La Nortena, if you are looking to pick up good tamales or Mexican bread treats.

Lima Peru is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. I love Peruvian food, and Lima is definitely the place to go. My favorite dish is the tallarín verde, but their lomos saltado was also really good. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try new Latin flavors and be immersed in Peruvian culture.

Ceviche mixto. 10/10 so fresh and yummy!

Food was amazing! Visiting Portland from California and did a quick search for Peruvian food. This place is a 10/10. Food is fresh, great portions, friendly staff, and everything we ordered was so good!

We ordered an appetizer and 2 main to share among 3 adults. The drinks were good. I had the purple corn drink, it was refreshing after a 4 hour hike. Fish ceviche...great presentation and ingredients but the acidity of the dressing was overpowering for 2 of us. Beef dish was delicious. My favorite was the seafood paella. Gorgeous and tasted very good. We devoured the 2 entrees. Service was slow but the food made it worthwhile.

Great ceviche, paella, and pisco sours. Service was great and ambiance was pleasant and clean. Will definitely be back on Sunday for the stews.

I studied abroad in Peru and my partner grew up in LA eating lots of Peruvian. This place stands up to both! Everything we've gotten has been just what we wanted. It's pricey, but there really aren't that many Peruvian restaurants around Portland so I'm more than willing to pay. This time we got the 1/2 Polla A La Brasa and the Tallerín de Pollo.

1/2 Chicken was delicious and cooked perfectly.

This place is seriously tucked away in the corner of nowhere (well, right next to JoAnne Fabrics) but it's worth a trip if you need to stock up on your asian food and and seafood. They have about 3 big tanks of crab and lobster from what I saw last week. Being the end of the crab season it wasn't too bad a selection. All the critters looked alive and active - always a good sign. Now I'm used to going to Chinatown in Chicago/SF to get my live crab and that's a whole different kind of experience. You have to make your way past the live frogs, softshell turtles and other 'alternative' protien sources as you order up your clams and crustaceans but Daxing is a much more mainstream experience. No funky stuff...at least in the front where people can see. Looks like they're expanding too. They're just putting in some shelves and stocking up on grocery items so this should be a place where you can get most of your asian shopping done. The prices are cheap to reasonable. For the most part, everything here I found was cheaper than Uwajimaya. The produce secion is very small though. This place is a grocery store by the way - not a restaurant.

I haven't been back to a Red Lobster since the whole 'AYCE Shrimp' fiasco, bankruptcy, and changing…read moreof CEO occurred. But the brand used to be THE fancy place to go while growing up for me, and was sometimes a family dinner stop for my wife's family...so it has fond memories But the ones close by have closed down, and my last visit wasn't good. But this location being so close to a store that we needed to go to, made me want to try it again for a weekend lunch. So I didn't do any searching for online menus and prices; my wife, mother-in-law, and I just went. And it turned out great. It's a large dining space, and it was empty when we came in the early afternoon on a Thursday, with nobody manning the front. It gave me time to examine the sad lobster tank. But soon, the hostess noticed us and guided us to a choice of booth (chosen) or bar seating. Many different pages of menus were given, and our server came over to give us ice water, a basket of cheddar bay biscuits and take our drink order. We munched on the good cheddar bay biscuits while perusing the menu (the biscuits have changed in appearance...whereas before, the tops looked like Guy Fieri's head, now it is more similar to Telly Savalas). All of us focused on the lunch menu, knowing we could share. Weekday Shrimp Trio ($17.99) - not available on the weekend, and with no substitutions, the trio consisting of shrimp scampi, shrimp linguine Alfredo, Popcorn Shrimp with french fries as a side. To my surprise, the best thing by far was the popcorn shrimp. Red Lobster debuted this in 1974, copying the idea of Cajun popcorn (crawfish), and I now believe I've never had it here before. I'm used to popcorn shrimp being tiny salad shrimp, with a thick batter: more deep fried batter than actual shrimp. This was very different: this was chopped up pieces of a much larger shrimp, lightly battered and deep fried. It was really good, and shows off the deep frying capabilities of Red Lobster. The fries were also very good: plentiful, lightly battered and expertly deep fried. Including the shrimp scampi (just OK) and the alfredo (very rich so the small portion was just right) made this dish a bargain and a good choice for someone who loves shrimp. Endless Soup, Salad, Biscuits ($11.99) - chose House Salad with a green salad mix, chopped tomatos. Very ordinary. But the lobster Bisque was enjoyed by my wife, especially with the never-ending supply of biscuits. She only needed one bowl, and gave the salad to her mom (Thousand Island not available so chose Citrus Lime Vinaigrette instead). Walt's Favorite Shrimp ($17.99) - eight pieces of lightly battered, tail-on, butterflied shrimp, with choice of side (mashed potato in this case). The shrimp was really good, and the mashed potatoes being enjoyed by Mom. Payment is taken at the table. It still was pretty empty when we left, but the news is that Red Lobster is doing better. Glad to hear it, with the food quality and value menu leading the way.

But recently I was craving…read morelobster; something I wouldn't call a "favorite" food of mine, but nonetheless a food for which I do get a once-in-a-blue-moon craving. Because it's a chain restaurant, people often assume and expect the worst. And I'll freely admit that I didn't have terribly high expectations myself. Which was unfortunate because the meal I received was not only good, it was in fact fantastic! Precisely because Red Lobster is a rare visit for me I decided to splurge. They have a combo platter where you can choose between - if I recall correctly - two, three, or four entrees. Because it was "Lobsterfest" I ordered the combo platter with a Maine lobster tail, shrimp scampi, Walt's shrimp (fried), and a sirloin steak. Yes dear reader, I decided to pig out! Which is especially funny since I usually tend to be a light eater. The lobster was perfect. Absolutely perfect. Likewise, both shrimp dishes were tasty and properly cooked. The biggest surprise however was the sirloin steak. I love a good filet, and sometimes a New York strip. But sirloin generally isn't my favorite. It's tough to cook it such that the steak is tender enough and flavorful enough. So I was very pleasantly surprised that this was the best sirloin steak I've had in a long, long time. Really tasty, not at all tough, and I got the sense it was actually pretty good quality beef (which I wouldn't have expected). Service was a little slow at times, especially when we were done and wanted to pay the bill and leave. Took what seemed like forever to get the waiter's attention. But I think he was also covering more tables than normal; a difficult spot for a waiter. Given how delicious the meal was I can let it slide. Overall, the meal was significantly better than I expected. Anyone who would casually write-off Red Lobster simply because it's a chain should maybe reconsider. I would absolutely go again and in fact will likely do so this summer. I have attached a picture of my actual platter. Of course, I did enhance the picture in a manner I thought fitting given how great the meal was. LOL!

Extremely Unprofessional Behavior at the Poke Counter…read more Today my friend and I drove to Uwajimaya specifically to buy fresh poke, which we usually enjoy here. When we arrived at the poke bowl service counter, we were standing in front of the menu screens trying to decide what to order. We were not in line yet, because we were still looking at the options and deciding. We had only been standing there for less than three minutes. At the time, there was an Asian male employee helping another customer. After that customer finished ordering, another male employee (tall with long hair) gestured toward me and asked if I was ready to order. I said, "Can I get a mini bowl please?" Instead of confirming my order, he immediately asked whether my friend wanted the same thing. My friend was still deciding and had not said she was ordering yet, so I politely replied that she wasn't sure yet, but I was ready to order mine. The employee then shook his head and slammed the rice container, which completely surprised me. The gesture and attitude felt very disrespectful and unnecessarily aggressive toward a customer. For context, I work in the food service industry myself, so I understand that things can get busy. However, at that moment there were no other customers waiting behind us, so the pressure and frustration displayed by this employee felt very inappropriate. Because of how uncomfortable the interaction felt, I told him that it was okay and that I would not order anymore. My friend also said it was okay and that we didn't want anything anymore. Instead of simply letting us go, the employee shouted loudly across the counter, saying "Come back, come back! What do you want? Come back!" while waving his hand at us as if we had to beg for him to serve us. We had done nothing wrong--we were simply looking at the menu and politely asked for a mini bowl. The experience left us feeling confused, pressured, and honestly quite uncomfortable. We later reported the incident to the customer service counter. The female employee there (wearing glasses) listened and said she would forward the report to management. I have visited Uwajimaya many times and usually enjoy shopping here, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. I hope management addresses this situation and reminds staff that basic courtesy and patience are essential in customer service. After the incident, we decided not to order poke and only purchased a bottled tea before leaving. We ended up going to another Japanese restaurant nearby for food instead. I'm sharing this experience not to attack the business, but to provide honest feedback. Uwajimaya has always been a place we enjoy visiting, and we would be happy to come back in the future--once we feel confident that customers will not be treated this way again by this particular employee.
