delicious chinese cajun hybrid food. best seafood boil i've ever had. the mussels are huge and delicious, highly recommend getting corn and potatoes too. the sauce on the seafood boil stands out, its sweet, well spiced and very buttery. get a side of rice to scoop up all the sauce! teacup dumplings are a must get too when they are available. haven't tried anything else here, we live in seattle but have stopped twice while visiting portland. i will be back next time i come to portland! service is wonderful here, we have a baby and the staff was accommodating and friendly with him.

WOW! I had one of the best crab dinners of my life. I ordered Dungeness Crab and some corn. The crab was delicious... cooked perfectly and so much seasoning, it was perfect. I'm from San Francisco and love crab more than anything. Don't be worried about the 80 's decor or if the restaurant is not packed. This place is amazing.

We went here at 11am on Friday. They had just opened. We ordered the lunch specials. Kung Pao chicken and shrimp lo mein. All their lunch orders are $12. Food came quickly. I didn't realize that they do cajun food also. We didn't have time to enjoy the Cajun food. The Kung Pao food was definitely good flavor and had good spice textures to it. We had a great lunch here.

This place is where it's at. The crab boil is bomb- so flavorful! The dumplings are good too but I come here mainly for the crab boils. $5 hazys - you can't beat it. Family owned. Go there now!

Tango crab is an unassuming restaurant, a hole in the wall, with a welcoming interior and very welcoming staff. Annie(sp?) has been my server several times and they are always a pleasure to speak with. They changed ownership in the past year, with new chefs, and are producing something special but I think they have potential and room to grow. Their Chinese menu is fantastic (I've not tried their Cajun stuff so can't comment there) For the Chinese folk out there or people wanting to try something new, ask Tango to make your seafood into classic Chinese versions like ginger scallion, salt-pepper, or black bean! All their food has been fresh and yummy. Pictured here is brocolli beef and salt pepper chicken

    Lunch combo special mushroom chicken.

When we arrived, we were seated right away. Rachel, our server was ah-maz-ing! She made sure we had what we needed but was not overbearing and annoying. The food - perfectly seasoned, average sized portions, and lots of variety. Seasons has some of everything, not just seafood. We ordered a bunch of food and we loved it all - the traditional Caesar salad, a cup of smoked salmon chowder, crispy Brussel sprouts, Cajun calamari, Goosepoint fried oysters, and two orders of shrimp and crab cakes. We went out to celebrate and Seasons did not disappoint with a scoop of their homemade ice cream with caramel sauce and a candle. I usually buy store brand ice cream and had no clue what I've been missing until I tried Seasons homemade cookies and cream ice cream. I'm not big on sweets, but did finish it all. Seasons is clean, inviting, and has low lighting for an intimate dinner. I will definitely return for another visit!

Despite the crowd, the service was excellent from start to finish and the food came out timely and hot. We ordered: * Tomato Basil Bisque Au Gratin -- $10.90 (outstanding) * Dungeness Crab & Spinach Risotto -- $48.00 (fresh, rich, and easily the highlight of the meal) * Maine Sea Scallop Cavatappi -- $42.00 * Cajun Calamari -- $14.90 * Tanqueray Dirty Gin Martini -- $13.00 * Key Lime Pie -- $9.00 * Two fountain sodas -- $7.00 The food across the board tasted fresh and well prepared. The tomato basil soup was incredible -- creamy, balanced, and comforting -- and the Dungeness crab with risotto was the standout dish of the night. The calamari (and okra) were just okay -- not bad, just nothing memorable compared to the rest. The only real knock was the cocktails. My dirty gin martini came in a very small glass, only filled about ¾ full, and the quality just didn't match the kitchen. For a seafood place doing everything else right, that was surprising. Total bill before tip: $144.80 Overall though, great neighborhood spot with excellent service and strong seafood. I'd definitely return and look forward to trying more dishes -- next time I might skip the cocktail and stick to wine or beer.

Prawn taco: 3 stars good flavor on the prawn but completely covered up by the hefty toppings. I had to try the prawns plain to get a sense of the taste. Mostly would describe as the mango flavor with little spice from any habenero. Catfish chili taco: 3.5 stars , solid flavor but completely covered by the wasabi slaw. No chili taste was present. Would be more accurate to call it wasabi catfish- i happen to love wasabi but it still overpowered any depth of flavor to soley be a wasabi taco. The flavors overall were pretty good, however there was very little balance in the tacos. I recommend if you like a heavy taco, not focused on the meat that these would be the tacos for you. With a little more balance allowing the seafood and the spice blends to shine these could be top notch, but they fall short. I was able to also try the yellow fin tuna fish and chip special and I would not recommend that at all. The texture on the fried tuna was downright dense and poor. There is a reason tuna is typically seared and not fried- and this highlighted it for me. The standard breading was VERY light, and provided no texture or taste for the dense fish. I would only recommend getting a standard fish like cod, or halibut and with the beer batter for the fish and chips. I would only rate the yellow fin with standard batter 1.5 stars The guy running the place was very nice

I walked in excited, but I can't say that I felt the same way walking out. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with this self serve hot pot. Let me walk you through my experience. I walked into a nearly empty restaurant and was greeted promptly. I was excited to see that the place was clean, well decorated, and had a simple drink, appetizer, and broth menu on the TV screens. I mentioned to the host that it was our first time here and that we would need some instructions. He just pointed out that the bowls are here, get your ingredients there, and pay over there. I was expecting a warmer welcome than that, but oh well, I dismissed it since I'm aware of the structure and he was young. The ingredients were neatly placed in containers that were well maintained. They seemed to be kept up with the supply and demand. However, I can easily see the cross contamination between raw meats and vegetables because there weren't additional tongs available to keep the ingredients separated, except for the one tong I was holding. Since all the food will be cooked together, I guess it would be fine...? We walked back and forth multiple times around the ingredients, not because there were too many to choose from, but because there was not enough variety. I was hoping there would be more noodles or more Asian green veggies to pick from, instead of broccoli, lettuce, or cauliflower. I do not feel like there was anything exciting or unique about their ingredients for me to rave about. Once we were done adding ingredients to our bowl, we went up to the register to weigh our food. It was $14.99 per pound for the first 5 soup flavors which were Classic Ma La Tang, Beef Bone, Rich Tomato, Mushroom, and Spicy Szechuan Dry Mix, and $16.99 for the Hot and Spicy Szechuan Dry Pot. I picked my broth and paid, then sat down and waited for my meal. Food did not take long for them to bring out; however, my soup did not come out hot. Was I expecting it to be boiling hot? No. But hot enough for all my food to be cooked well so I don't get sick. If you want a comparison, if you have ever eaten pho at a restaurant, the soup is hot. Well, my soup at Big Hey Hot Pot was not as hot as the pho soup. One thing that I was happy about was the sauce bar. They had everything you can imagine, such as sesame sauce, soy sauce, spicy sauce, hoisin sauce, garlic, onion, chopped green onion, cilantro, and peanuts. This sauce bar was unlimited and did not count towards your weight. I went back multiple times to get more sauce. Overall, this was not as satisfying as I thought it would be. I wish I had better service, more variety of ingredients to pick from, and hotter soup. Plenty of parking. Cards accepted. I will not be back.
