I asked which was better and she said fried (which was also $2 more). I've been to Argentina. I know what Milanese is. I don't know why I expected legit fried chicken. So for what it was it was really done well. Tender chicken. Pounded thin and uniformly. Definitely lacked seasoning but as I said before I should have known better. It was an indication that they put effort into the food. The pesto was kind of heavy. It filled my stomach and palate up pretty quick. Again not quite sure what I was expecting. I liked the potatoes. I think I should have eaten it sooner and I'll bet it's a much prettier plate dining in. One thing that annoyed me was that I didn't get a knife in my to go order. Peruvian eats at a local spot, I've been hearing about it but haven't tried until now. The tables are packed and the space is a lot smaller than the building size but the flavors will surprise you. This is a top notch seafood place. The assortment of soups, paella all had fresh crab, scallops, octopus, fish and delightful seasonings. A little saffron and sautéed red pepper binds the recipe. House bread seems ordinary but it's pretty tasty and. comes with two house sauces that are like a cilantro chutney great for a dip a little spicy but not bland. There's a bit of a wait and the service can be slow but give the small business a break. There was one waitress running around. The calamari was amazing and the little green dipping sauce they provide was so tasty. The slices of onion on the side of the calamari were almost too salty to eat though. Everything else we had was great, very big portions. The restaurant was very small and cozy. And the service was very quick and efficient. read more

This is not the type of food id usually go get, but was very surprised. The staff was very friendly making an environment id want to come back to again. The fried rice with mussels and prawn was delicious. The rice was spiced very nicely as to have a good bold/tangy flavor without overwhelming your pallet. This blended well with the mussels and clams incorporated in it allowing you to taste it still. The prawn was very good and looked as their ally pleasing. I only wish there was more than one piece. The pescado a lo Lima was amazing as well. We ate all the bread with the sauce that was covering all the seafood. The fish was very soft and moist so it absorbed a lot of the sauce flavor. It was almost like a turkey gravy type savory. Overall, the meal was delicious and I highly recommend it for anyone that doesn't usually eat this type of food. read more

Absolutely stunning! Found this place while visiting from Seattle. The food was perfectly seasoned and just beautifully presented. The service was stellar and the place was beautifully decorated and big enough for groups. We got the bistek a lo pobre and it was so good. The steak was perfectly done and rice, plantains, fried and eggs were so delicious with it. We also got the 1/2 rotisserie chicken and this was just perfectly done and seasoned. More of a takeout place as well, there isn't much ambiance or anything to say about the area it is located. It wasn't bad by any means, but would I return? I went here for dinner with coworkers while visiting BVN. I love the Peruvian take on dinner, you always get fries with your meal in addition to rice. I ordered the shrimp saltado and it was very flavorful. It paired well with my purple corn drink, which may sound suspect if you're American but I enjoyed it and recommend you try it. It's a sweet drink though, so be prepared to drink water along with it if you're not a fan of sweet drinks. Service was good. There's nothing pretentious about the restaurant, the decor is very basic but clean. Enjoy the food and the folks who work here. I'd definitely eat here again if I'm in the area. read more

We were the only gringo couple there ... most of their clientele were either Peruvian, or in some cases gringos there with Peruvian friends. The restaurant focuses on seafood, and they do it well. The Ceviche de Pescado was wonderful ... amazingly flavorful and very tender. The Arroz con Mariscos was tasty with a wide variety of seafood in it (squid, mussels, clams, fish, shrimp) ... but the rice was a little soggy - I suspect this is just how it would be in Peru ... but I'd prefer the rice if the dish were truly fresh. Everything that we ordered tasted delicious. We started with the ceviche pascado and yuca fries for app, followed by six entrees, and they all turned out wonderfully. Plus, they didn't take long to come out at all, and the server was extra patient waiting for s e on which dish to order. The chicha morado (purple corn drink, non-alcoholic) is tastier than what I've tasted at other places, so I drank two glasses even though I'm not a soft drink person! Let's start with their free bread - so scrumptiously warm and served with two types of dips, both amazing, one more sour and one more spicy but both EXCELLENT! I'm glad the food came quickly or I would have filled up on these alone! Ceviche Pascado - fresh tasting with plenty of fish slices, it also comes with some cooked Inca corn, roasted Inca corns, and a chunk of baked yam on the side. It's heavenly, and quite simply how you would expect ceviche to taste. Aji de gallina - flavorful but not overly rich, the best I've eaten since Peru, in fact including those in Peru. Lomo saltado (stir fried steak with French fries and onion, served with rice) - not much to look at, but boy did it taste good! My son, a picky eater, finished his whole plate in record time, beating everyone of us! We also ordered pollo saltado (chicken) and mascato saltado (seafood) and they all tasted great! Seco de Cordero (lamb stew served with rice and beans) - this was the special of the day, and I am glad I ordered it. The lamb was really tender, though they are shank pieces so they had bones in the middle. Tasted devine. I didn't care for the beans though, it was too much and tasted bland compared to the lamb and rice. Seafood de la crema (I forget the actual name, but it's essentially seafood cooked in a creamy sauce and served with rice) - glorious in presentation and taste. The server recommended it and it did not disappoint! It had mussels, squid, scallops and other seafood. My mom in law said it was good, and it takes a lot to impress her! All in all, we're so glad this gem is here in Beaverton. Heard that they also serve Peruvian breakfast on Sunday mornings from 10-12. Must try some day when we're back to visit! read more

Our friends picked this restaurant out and they picked a winner! Very unassuming place - luckily I'd checked out some of the exterior photos before we went because it's barely noticeable in its strip mall. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. We got the 1/2 Rotisserie chicken, which came with fries and an iceberg lettuce salad and a choice of dressing. Very juicy chicken, lots of flavor. Fries are great too! Also got the Lomo Saltado. As another reviewer stated, this one isn't much to look at, but it's got a ton of flavor! The beef was fork-tender and the onions were still a little crisp. It's served with french fries and chunks of stewed tomatoes in the sauce. I am not a fan of soggy fries, but these weren't too soggy. Came with a side of steamed rice to soak up the sauce. This was my first Peruvian meal and I was impressed! Very tasty, and friendly service, and reasonable prices. I am huge fan of Peruvian food but this place really missed the mark. I ordered ceviche pescado and arroz con mariscos with passion fruit juice. The only good thing was the juice. I wasn't sure if the ceviche was fresh but it just wasn't good. The seafood paella dish was lacking in seafood and tasted more like fried rice. It came with 2 different salsa, one was completely inedible. The service is fast and friendly. The ambiance is family style restaurant but the food itself just wasn't good at all. I am really shocked by surprised by the high ratings. Either people who previously left review here don't know what good Peruvian is suppose to taste like or they must be having an off day. I truly love this place! I discovered it one day on my walk around the neighborhood. Since I know of this place, I have been visiting it or ordering take out several times, and the food always quite satisfying! The place is a bit hard to find/notice unless you know of it. There are a lot of parking spots and a small stip mall around it. You can tell the food is authentic since the people who go there are mostly locals. My favorite dish is Lomo Saltado! I ordered it almost every time when I visit them, and the dish comes out quite consistent. This dish mix steak, tomato, onion, and fries. The first time when I order I was a little skeptical about the fries but the server was telling me it is very good. I trusted her and since then I fall in love with this dish. If you are there please make sure you order it. I have also ordered their Arroz Con Mariscos dish before, it tastes a bit like paella without the saffron. The seafood is fresh and well cooked. I have also ordered Bisteck a la chorallana before. Sometimes I feel this dish is basically a replica of lomo saltado but without cutting the steak. But personally, I like the other one better, since its way more flavor. I always order a side of plantain to go with the salty flavor. If you have never been this place before, I would highly suggest you try it. The food are in good portions and you can go with families or friends and share different dishes. We love Peruvian Food and we were so excited to try this place b/c we try to support local restaurants plus all the good reviews- BEWARE when you PAY- I would recommend to pay CASH. Our waitress took our credit card and ran after some other customers and gave them our VISA CREDIT CARD! When we asked for our card - she didn't even apologize, no remorse, didn't even care!!! We asked for the owner and let him know what happened. I know we are all human and make mistakes but when I do- I immediately take ownership of my error and say sorry- we got nothing. They charged us the $61 dinner and we ran home to cancel our card plus ALL THE automatic subscriptions we have with it. It was truly a headache.
