Crab dip and Brie
Ariana C.

The food was great! Service was well and the ambiance was very romantic. We went for Valentine's Day and the servers were very helpful with the menu as we had some dietary restrictions. We had the warm crab dip and Brie to start with and for entree we had the filet mignon and rib eye steak, both were prepared very well! Great experience, great big parking lot and lounge areas for drinks.

Great atmosphere. Love the view of the golf course. Service is terrific. Nice drink options including mocktails.

Great service, nice view of the golf course, and good meal. My husband ordered a filet mignon cooked medium and it was pretty rare, but the tenderloin and ribeye were very tasty. They came around frequently to refill our water and were very professional and attentive.

Good foods, friendly service, nice view of the golf course! I would go back there again any time!

Been here many times and it doesn't disappoint. Servers are always great. Makes it such a great experience. Solid great tasting food. Mixed drinks are always mixed right and well done. Great place for anniversaries or birthdays. Such great staff and managers. Awesome ambience as well! Bravo!

Limoncello Limocello Cake

I am in town for work and the Stockpot was exactly what I was looking for. Was able to walk in and sit in the bar area at a table where I received prompt and attentive service. It has the ambiance of an old fine dining establishment and had the dark lighting to support. I ordered the NY Strip and it was insanely large and delicious with a great flavorful crust. I gave the option of two desserts for the waitress to pick from and surprise me and I'm so glad she picked the Limoncello cake - it was absolutely phenomenal. I'm not sure when my travels will bring me back through, but until then I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will look forward to a return trip.

Good food, happy hour (food only) all day on Monday. So yay! If you're in the area, a great stop! Odd, but the wedge salad is only a $.05 difference in happy hour vs, full, so order the full for more food...maybe. Onion rings are almost RingSide, but the wasabi sauce, is a no for me. Meatballs were canned soup sauce, but the meat itself was good. But, the pork egg rolls, now there's a great small dish. See menu for prices, I wish I could do a 3.5 here or a 3.75, I'll be back to try again. Service was great, though.

Beef Stroganoff

Great service, average food, interesting crowd. I had the beef stroganoff, a dish I've had around the world since I was 8 years old. It was college cafeteria level. The portion is huge, and the beef itself was very good, but as a served entree, very average. However, our server was so adorably enthusiastic about it, I couldn't help but love her. Everyone here is super friendly. Great place to bring hungry friends who don't have a particularly distinguishing palate, but want to stretch that dollar.

Had a wonderful time on Saturday afternoon, lounging on the StockPot's outdoor patio that overlooks the luscious green golf course, as I took full advantage of one of the last few days of Portland sunshine, while enjoying entertaining conversation with good friends, leisurely sipping on Iced Spanish Coffees and being waiting on by the lovely Miss Lexi. Good food, tasty drinks, quick seating and fantastic service on a gorgeous weekend... what more could you possibly ask for? I highly recommend this hidden Portland gem.

I had heard great things about this course side restaurant and decided to give it a try. It was highly ranked for steaks which I'm pleased to reinforce. The special was a filet with shrimp, asparagus and potatoes. Phenomenal! Honorable mention to the mushroom appetizer but imagine a few others would have been great alternatives. The space includes a restaurant and bar to appease any party or function. Great service from start to finish in a roomy (but aged) layout. A definitely great option in the middle of suburban mediocrity.

Ask the Community - The Stockpot Restaurant

Is this place open to the public ? Non-golf club members?

Yes. It's open to the public. Brunch and happy hour are especially busy there

Is there a dress code for Stockpot Broiler? Dark jeans and a button shirt.. would that be ok?

No dress code, but casual to dress casual is good. I've worn shorts there and many golfers eat there as well.

She has full situational awareness that she carries with her throughout said days and it shows. She need not be smiling at all time, because her sincerity is her charm. It seems the entire staff trusts her to do right by all persons and they respect her authority (as evident per their efforts). The Kitchen - WOW. Much joy in the back of the house! Beyond the bar is a small and effective protocol for exclusively in-house, fresh prepped treats; always made per order. The (cheese) sauces for chips/macaroni on everything, all the time.

For the past few months or possibly more, there is a server/closing-manager (male Caucasian, glasses, ponytail) who only reluctantly provides the HH menu. About two months ago, I asked when HH started, and he said in 7 minutes (i.e., it was 9:53pm). I asked how much I'd save on the beer I was contemplating if I waited for 7 minutes, and he said a dollar or two, so I told him I'd wait until then to place my order. It seemed like a pretty light day, yet he took a full 20+ minutes to come take our order -- it felt like he was punishing me. Last night, it was 10:10pm and I asked if there was a HH menu. He said "not yet." I thought he meant that they hadn't yet been published, but when I went to the bar to say hi to someone I know, I saw a HH menu already on the bar. I'd already ordered off the regular menu, and chose to not change to something on the HH hour just to avoid the conflict. I have no idea what is inspiring this behavior. Perhaps people who order off HH menus don't tip well? In any case, this new HH attitude has definitely dampened my enthusiasm for Fireside. Which is sad since it still has a great tap list and menu.

We got some drinks and started off with their Caesar salad and the fried polenta. The Caesar was good, but I wished we had more leaves for the price. The polenta fries were very tasty, not amaaaazing and super salty. They didn't need the blue cheese butter dip at all. For dinner we tried the smoked salmon squid ink pasta and the cioppino. The cioppino was alright, one perk was that the shellfish was already pulled out of the shell, and had a lot of small pieces of squid but I would have preferred bigger squid pieces. And more bread to go with it. The smoked salmon pasta was very rich and heavy. It was good but it too benefited from some bread to go with all that savory salty goodness. Service was also okay, nothing special. We to flag down staff to get more bread. Overall, not amazing, not terrible. Decarli fell short of my expectations. There are plenty of other amazing Italian places in Portland that would rather make the trip out for.

Oh, the joy of Ox…read more It's become a staple -- the kind of place that quietly works its way into your rotation and then suddenly holds weight in your personal ranking whether you meant for it to or not. As of right now, it sits at number one for my dad and a few of my friends alike. For me? I'm not ready to crown it just yet. I need a few more visits, a few more comparisons against my usual haunts. But it's up there. No question. When I first moved to Portland almost a year ago, this was one of the spots that kept coming up. Highly recommended, spoken about with a kind of confidence that usually means it's either overhyped or the real deal. We went for Mother's Day. Then again for Father's Day. My parents loved it -- the kind of love that doesn't need explanation -- and honestly, I get it. The service is immaculate. Thoughtful, attentive, but never hovering. You feel taken care of in a way that's increasingly rare -- like the front of house actually wants you to have a good time, not just turn the table. There's a real sense of pride in what they're doing. The team feels aligned, almost symbiotic. Front of house lifting up back of house, back of house delivering in a way that makes that support feel earned. Whether that relationship is perfect behind the scenes or not, it reads as seamless from the outside. And the food -- it's just excellent. Cooked perfectly, consistently, without unnecessary theatrics. No foams, no gels, no overworked plating trying to prove something. Just honest, confident cooking over fire. The kind of food that reminds you how good simple things can be when they're done right. It's indulgent in the best way. The kind of meal that might even tempt a few vegans back to the dark side -- at least for a night. It's not cheap. Let's be clear about that. I don't go here casually, and I'm not pretending I do. Thanks, Mom and Dad. But it's the kind of place that's worth saving up for -- not just for the food, but for the experience. For some people, this might be a random Wednesday night. For most of us, it's something you plan for. And when you do, it delivers. It's special without making a big deal about being special. And that's exactly why it works.
