After many years we were in the area for Cinco de Mayo and stopped for dinner. I called and they were busy but took a chance and we were seated right away. I love the bean dip that comes with the chips. Had to immediately update my review when I got home! I NEVER get tacos at family-style Mexican restaurants because their shells are always those pre-fab, come in a box crap like they sell at the grocery store that I wouldn't even feed to my kids if I had them. But for some reason, today I decided to take my chances on a taco combo and was SO HAPPY to discover that Si Señor fries REAL tortillas with the meat inside... like it's supposed to be done!!! This restaurant is a great Mexican food option for the area! The chips were just okay (not warm), but served with a deliciously spicy bean dip and simple salsa. I ordered the cochinita pibil and it was pretty good. I like that this restaurant had choices from North, Central and Southern Mexico. I was in the mood for a taco salad and a friend recommended Si Senor. He said that it had a great vibe. Si Senor definitely had a welcoming vibe upon entering. We were greeted and shown to a booth. We were given chips, salsa and bean dip pretty quickly. Our waiter came and took our drink orders. I got an Arnold Palmer and my friend got a Mexican lime soda. I wasn't sure what to expect as far as vegan offerings on the menu. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a veggie bowl with vegan Pastor. It had white rice and black beans and veggies. The chips with beans as appetizers are one of a kind... I could eat a bowl of those beans spread!! The lady that was serving the chips was also super nice accommodating our requests for non-spicy appetizers. They are large restaurants with lots of seating. T We both started with a Cadillac Margarita. They are 'ample'... ok, really big! Delicious. The complementary chips and dips were promptly brought to the table. I have no idea how they make the warm bean dip sooooo delicious. I had the lamb shank. It was on the website but not on the printed menu. They mean it when they have a QR code on the menu - asking you to use it for the full menu. They have a VERY extensive menu from all over Mexico - a country with lots of regional specialties not commonly found in Mexican spots in the US. I asked for a paper box but they did not have. So now l have yet another horrible for the environment plastic to go container. I usually keep washed extras in my car so I can reuse and not accumulate more - but today someone else was driving and it was not pre planned to stop for lunch. I'm glad we did stop for delish lunch - but come on - a paper box for my leftovers would have been so much better than this big black plastic thing. I refuse to toss the plastic after one use so here I am - with another plastic container. Please offer brown paper to go containers!They hold up great and if customer is worried they will sog out - they can transfer to own containers when they get home. We're vegetarian and Si Senor had very nice vegie burito and cheese enchiladas with mole sauce. Staff were friendly and service was quick.

I came here for the first time with some friends who are fans and thought everything was delicious! Their salsa has a little spice and is served with bean dip and warm chips. Service was attentive, checking on us often and asking for drink refills when they were getting low. I had a happy hour guava margarita for $10 and it was blended smoothly and wasn't too sweet. The three item combo is huge for $23 and I took half home. The items were generous with the meat, sauce and cheese and I would definitely order a combo again. 11/2025 I ordered something from the Menu that looked yummy (see photo). Asada y Camaron. You get 3 Tacos (small like street ones) and they have steak and shrimp wrapped with Bacon. What I got was nothing like their photo. I could barely make out the shrimp because the shrimp were so small! This is so disappointing . It's downright embarrassing that I haven't reviewed Si Senor yet! This place has been a consistent winner for us. Especially when dining with my gluten-free, vegetarian friend (who has a multitude of other dietary restrictions), Mexican food is always a safe bet. Being a San Diego native, I admit I'm a bit snobby about my Mexican food. Si Senor hits the spot. Their margaritas are absolutely fantastic, and the drink menu is extensive. We usually head here for happy hour. Recently, we brought my in-laws, visiting from Anchorage. My husband started with the Mango Martini and I enjoyed the Guava Tequila Sour - both were excellent. The menus are well organized by style of order and easy to keep clean. Overall a different scale for service here. Well tended to, expect to spend more than at our Taco Bell up the street. (No bean salsa.) I appreciated what was new to me as a thin Bloody Mary, with a very good salt wrapped around a lime-juice rim. Very fine attention to detail that hasn't been done elsewhere. The Tabasco is well balanced, which is a feature I normally don't anticipate enjoying. It went well with the asada marinade for the fries, which were in and of themselves fantastic. This is my first time coming here on the recommendation of friends and it did not disappoint! Plenty of parking in the parking lot, the host desk and waiting area has the salsa and toppings bar which was interesting but everyone was very friendly and we got a table right away on a Saturday for dinner at 6pm. The chips and salsa with bean dip came right away - the chips were fresh and crispy, the salsa with a little kick, and creamy bean dip and all of the refills. All the food was delicious and in generous portions! The pricing is a little on the higher side but I thought it was reasonable for the quality and the amount of food (definitely went home with lots of leftovers!) I really enjoyed the Borrego lamb shank so I would highly recommend that as a must-get here. They are also not stingy with guac and toppings here for maximum flavor. These were probably the best I've had in decades! Opening chips and salsa also came with spicy bean dip. The carne asada nachos were light and plenty of toppings. We ordered the Taco Tuesday ($5 off) surf & turf tacos and the bacon wrapped shrimp was cooked to perfection. My Cadillac margarita was delicious and the guava margarita ordered by my friend was also quite tasty. This place is pretty cool. I was there for a big birthday party of about 15. They have a lot of room for big groups. They let me bring my birthday cake in and serve it to my guests. That was nice. The steak and chicken fajita's were just ok. I wish they would have given me more green and red peppers with all the onions they gave me. The chicken and the steak were kind of undercooked and kind of spongy texture. The service was excellent. I decided to go to the bar to get a shot of fireball. It was in a small shot glass and they charged me $12.00 for a small 1 oz shot of fireball. I was like what the heck? Oh well, live and learn. Not one of my most favorite or tasty Mexican restaurants but it was referred to me . I might not be back anytime soon. But, the workers there were super sweet. My wife and I have stopped by a couple of times now and I'm very confident in my review. Here are the greatest hits: * Service: Both times we had excellent service. The servers were friendly and attentive! * Table-side Guacamole is an A+. I know it's gimmicky but this a must! * The Chips & Salsa is another A+. First, their tortilla chips are quite good. They have the right crisp and the corn taste isn't overpowering like they tend to be at other restaurants. Second, they provide both a mild and a spicy salsa on the side AND this delicious bean dip which, in my opinion, is the star of the show! * If I'm being honest, I wasn't a fan of their Tacos al Carbon, but I will say that the skirt steak within was really delicious. It was nice and tender and flavorful. The beans & rice were delicious, too. I think next time, I'll bypass the tacos, and just get the skirt steak by itself with the beans and rice. Unfortunately, this place doesn't serve Coca-Cola products. So instead, I went with Sierra Mist (which is totally fine because for some reason, non-colas like Sierra Mist, 7Up or Sprite are really good with Mexican food). Anyway, that's my review. Corn tortilla was really fresh, chicken had real flavor, red sauce was not spicy just great flavor. The beans were smooth not fatty, good rice.
