I do meet friends here for happy hour two or three times a year when we're craving margaritas and happy hour. The good parts are that they give you free bottomless chips and salsa and bean dip and all are very tasty. Also the people who work there are so friendly. Great atmosphere and menu is what you would expect. The downsides are that the food is just not that tasty anymore. In fact, it doesn't seem as fresh... I don't know if there's just too much lard in everything but it's just so heavy and dense and not really that flavorful. All of the meats are very very fatty, either they just leave a lot of fat in the meat and don't trim it off or it's just swimming in fatty sauce. The rice is so overcooked. The other issue is that the last time we walked in the place was just filled with a hazy cooking cloud, and when you leave there your clothes and hair will absolutely smell like grease and like a fire. Similar to how I smell when I leave Benihana. They were closed recently because they had a grease fire in the kitchen. Because the place is filled with a greasy smell I wonder if they're now cleaning the grease out of the hood, or not!

Surf and Turf Tacos with side of rice and beans and a beer!

Portland is always a bit of hit and miss when it comes to Mexican restaurants -- but Si Senior Cedar Mill is a decent option for the inner westsiders. Although they have all of the traditional dishes...some better than other...my go to here is the Surf and Turf Tacos...which is delicious skirt steak and bacon wrapped shrimp on three tortillas...comes with a super good avocado cream sauce...this is a wonderful plate for lunch or dinner. You can order a side of rice and beans for a few bucks more...but the tacos are large and filling g on their own. Chips and salsa are also great and come with bean aside as well. Service is always friendly and prices are in range for what Mexican food is going for today...a very good stop if you are craving tacos!

Excuse the lack of food pictures I ate my food before I could take them. My uncle who is almost 99 loves this place and recommended it. Service was exceptional. The host was super attentive and so was the staff that helped us to a seat right away and held the door for us. They have a good alcoholic drink menu too, but I'm driving today.

If you're craving authentic Mexican food served with heart, this family-owned gem is definitely worth a stop by! After a fire in May, Si Senor reopened in full force. There is a ton of seating either indoor or outdoor in the warmer months for large gatherings! The owner's daughter, who is also the manager, is so sweet & supportive of her families restaurant. Now, let's talk food! First up, the guacamole--it's not your typical bowl of guac. It's huge, fresh, and has a unique twist with pickled jalepenos and carmelized onions that'll keep you scooping. Then, there are the enchiladas- so BOMB. You get to choose your own protein in them. Arranged to mirror the colors of the Mexican flag, each enchilada comes topped with one of their house-made sauces, each with its own distinctive flavor. It's a beautiful way to showcase their dedication to traditional flavors with a creative touch. My favorite is by far the verde.! If you're a fan of heat, you're in luck: they have some seriously spicy hot sauces for the brave-hearted. But the true standout? Their new new surf and turf tacos!! You can't go wrong here--each bite is loaded with fresh, perfectly seasoned shrimp, bacon, AND carne asasa. They top it with fresh avocado and there is melty cheese as well. The meats meld together and make a special sauce and it is sooo good- making this dish a must-order item! I'll crave this. DRANKSS And let's not forget the drinks! Their margarita flight lets you try a variety of their signature margaritas and only $15 on happy hour. Stop by during happy hour for a fantastic deal on drinks and appetizers which is well worth it!

This spot finally reopened after a huge kitchen fire over a year ago, and we were excited to check it out and support their reopening. They definitely have a good aesthetic inside and it feels very welcoming and open. Our server was super nice and very attentive. He answered the couple small questions we had and constantly came back to give us water refills and to check on us. The food though is where the lack of stars comes from. The chips were fairly stale and the beans were pretty runny. They tasted like the bag was left open for a week. My wife had a daiquiri and it was also extremely bland and watery and fairly small for $15. Our actual entrees weren't terrible in taste. I did really enjoy the flavor of the enchiladas suizas, but for $20, they were so so small. It's tough to leave a $60 meal and still feel hungry, especially at a Mexican restaurant where portion sizes are usually massive. Overall, I couldn't see us going back anytime in the near future when there are other more affordable options with more bang for our buck. Great service, rough food.

I dream of Si Senors tacos every night - when we ordered they said we got the best tacos on the menu and WOWOW they weren't lying! Surf and Turf Tacos and Birria Tacos were AMAZING! On top of the great food, they make great drinks and had extremely friendly staff. My boyfriend and I love having a date night here, we always end up leaving super happy and full

Good food, quick and humble service and chill ambiance. They have both outdoor and indoor seating. We visited them during lunch time over a weekday. The food arrived pretty quickly after the order. One may argue it's over priced, but well it's definitely a place to celebrate occasions with Mexican cuisine. The menu is vast and has something for everyone. The mole sauce is also good. Would recommend them!

Such a small detail that makes a big difference. The Citrus Salad was super fresh, crisp, and delicious, which balanced everything out perfectly. I also tried the NA classic margarita and it was so refreshing. I loved the subtle touch of orange juice. Overall, such a lovely spot with amazing food, great vibes, and thoughtful details. Today my wife and I enjoyed scrumptious Tacotes, one chicken and one Bok Choy with house made salsa. Also, the Tetela de Requeson, maiz, beans and sprouting broccoli with a house made requeson - kind of like ricotta cheese - very beautifully plated and so delicious. Extra side of yummy and creamy black bean frijoles with sour cream, butter, tortillas. Instead of desert, the Mezcal, chile and lime was refreshing. Right now open for lunch Thursday through Sunday 10-3pm. No fixed menu, changes with what's fresh - the way chef Angel loves to cook respecting what is in season. Yes, the food plated looks so good, I am inspired to dig in. There's a reason it was recognized early in its start by Eater, Portland Monthly and the Oregonian as one of the best restaurants in the city because foodies seek out and love to go where the food experience is special - especially the chef tasting menus in the past. I was excited to go here as I had been meaning to visit for at least 6 months. I wasn't disappointed. This taqueria is the real deal, and very authentic. I also appreciate it's LGBTQ owned, and like to be inclusive in how I spend money. The tacos are amazing I had two there, and took two home. They were all delicious and not one disappointed. Their taco menu is very extensive, and it's nice that they have a lot of vegetarian options as well. One of my favorites was the one with mole ,and poblanos, also the chicken one, also the carnitas. Flavors so rich and satisfying. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. Extremely quick service which I love. Even though I only speak a little bit of Spanish. I tried, and they were very welcoming. They are fluent in Spanish. I knew it was an authentic taqueria when I heard a native spanish speaker speak Spanish at the counter. I don't want to leave out their drinks as they have quite a selection both alcoholic, and non alcoholic. I tried the horchata, which was amazing. I have been craving Pozole for a long time, and they had it as a special chicken with green sauce, and pork and a red sauce. Both simply amazing and a great deal. This restaurant is very reasonable, and you get quite a lot for the money. Last but not least I can't forget the ambiance which felt very authentic, and reminded me of being in a Taqueria in Mexico or Southern California. the place is decorated very thoughtful with a lot of candles, and many shrines. They also have a love of Mariah Carey and saw many photos of here in the restaurant. They have both outdoor seating and indoor seating. A lot of plants outside which all seem very happy and well cared for. I love this place, and will be going back for sure. The place is very casual which I appreciate. By the time we left around 6 PM, the dinner rush had started and a line was forming at the door. The interior is well decorated, modern, and clean. The server was friendly and service was fast. We ordered the bowl, one with carnitas and other with avocado. Both were very tasty! You can tell that the ingredients were fresh, the carnitas were tender and well seasoned. They also had a mango hot sauce brought to the table in a bottle that is amazing. I drenched my bowl with the sauce for the extra kick and flavor. The bowls are very filling. We ended up boxing up half of our food to bring home and finish for a late dinner. Would definitely come again and try their hot sandwiches. I have had some meals at the bar where the bartenders were genuinely engaged knowledgeable and happy to walk you through their agave list which only enhances the whole experience. I will be honest and say that the service can sometimes lean into the typical Portland vibe of aloof and uninterested but there have also been moments especially at the bar where the staff really shines and makes you feel welcome and taken care of.
