Worst service ever. Now i will add this is my 1st time there and it was MAY 5 they were busy...my food came cold my server was nowhere to be found i never saw a bill however i would never walk out and cheat anyone out of money usually pay by card but i had the cash left it on table walked out. For the prices they charged i got a small portion and again it came cold. I also asked another person working there was the owner there i asked to see him but was told he was to busy. Good food portions, friendly service and great margaritas. The food is pretty good here and the prices aren't too expensive and usually not a wait to be seated. They start you with chips and salsa which is always a nice touch. We have been here several times over the years. It's a nice casual spot that's not very loud and over the top. My dad has hard time hearing when places get loud and this place seems to be ok when we dine with my parents. Did I mention I love the margaritas and drinks here! read more

Between two and three stars with all things considered... Atmosphere: good - quiet but it was a Wednesday evening. Staff: kind and on top of things, checked in frequently. Patient with the kids. Food: this was the disappointment. Servings were generous, but the whole dish lacked flavor! The tamales were dry and bland and the chili relleno was a mess with the coating falling off and the pepper still crunchy. Overall, just a letdown for a final vacation meal. read more

Honestly I love their food. I think they may have the best Coca Cola in a restaurant I've had in years. Their chips & salsa are good. I like the staff it's usually clean and they are friendly. However the bathroom is not sanitary. The paper towels are placed above the toilet so when you flush toilet water it's going to the paper towels that you & the staff would dry their hands on. So that needs to be addressed properly by a food inspector or by management. It's only this location that I've noticed it. The bathroom itself is not clean & screams please throw Lysol at me. I understand with my ocd I prefer faucets you don't touch and doors that are easy to open so you can maintain clean hands once you've washed them but it's not really doable here. I do love the food but many times I have been sick before leaving even. It could be that it's super greasy but I do keep going anyways. I may be a gluten for punishment but their food is really good. Parking for handicap spots is very far away and they have an eatery that puts tables outside in a way that wheelchairs can't really access this location. It's not their fault it's their neighbors fault for being rude but it does prevent people who are handicapped from eating here. (It's the Indian pizza shop that has placed its chairs in an ableist manner). If I can find a photo I'll post it so you can see what I mean. read more

Nasty stay far away from this place I had fish and shrimp soup. you can tell all the way frozen seafood. The flavor was just ok. Than they charged me the same price as the 7 seas soup that has crab mussels and other seafood. $28 what a ripped off i still left a good tip because the waiter was good at his job. This is about a straightforward review as I can write: The good: The food. It's pretty good considering this is a typical Mexican restaurant chain. I mean it's not the best Mexican food I've had, but for Oregon, and for a chain, it's definitely one of the better ones. Also the chips/salsa are pretty good. The bad: The prices are absurd. I mean seriously ridiculous. You're looking at $20+ for pretty much any entree, and the ones with seafood or carne asada are pushing $30. Seriously ridiculous. I live right down the street from here, and I would likely come here multiple times a month if their prices were sane. But they're not, and that's why I've only been here twice. read more

Food and service is great. It's American style Mexican, portions match the price. Service is very good, they come around often to check to make sure everything is good. The server was great and knowledgeable. But on the menu it says it has vegetarian dishes and in the description it says Spanish rice. Well it's not vegetarian, they cook it with Chicken stock. Which is fine for non vegetarians, but that should not be an option for a vegetarian person. I do wish they had more vegan options. They did make me something vegan which was wonderful. read more

This was a great way to end our date night of movie and dinner. We were hoping to dine at the movie theatre but with the supply chain issues the menu was so limited it was no longer possible, so we opted to go here after the movie. I had the chimichana al mar, and my husband had another shirmp dish with a cream sauce and mushrooms. Both were delicous, and true to Mexican form it was too much food, so now we get to look forward to yummy leftovers for tomorrow night. I have been to this location multiple times . I have gotten the nachos every time before my last visit. This time I got the Nachos Idaho a.k.a potato skins. These were the best of these that I have ever eaten. This time, however, we left feeling ripped off because the price were paid didn't reflect what we saw in the menu. Sure, prices have gone up everywhere, but charging extra for sure cream and guac, then nearly doubling the cost of an entree because of a meat substitution? C'mon! And I know for a fact that we haven't paid that much for margaritas anywhere. Not even Cadillac or large size, just a plain old margarita. Free chips and salsa doesn't make up for that kind of gouging. By the way, don't plan your meal based on their online menu. The prices on the real menu are way higher. We had a very nice experience at this location. Our server was very friendly and checked in on us often. They brought a mild salsa out for our young child and also made sure that their food came out first and quickly. All without asking! Portions were large and we had enough leftovers for the next day. Juan Colorado is a classic, above-average, Mexican restaurant, but quite pricey. However, the skill and manner of the wait staff and bartenders accounts for the price. This is a great place to go for a treat with the family, but comes with a price tag just high enough to keep it from becoming a regular on my rotation. The restaurant is always very clean, the menu is expansive, and the little fun bits of customer service you expect from a Mexican restaurant (chips and salsa, for example) are executed so well they feel like you're really being treated. Ever since they changed location some years ago, I've had to come here less and less, and it's a damn shame. If you're nearby, pop in one evening and treat yourself. read more

Thia place has a really good vibe and all the staff is super friendly. The regular menu has various options and the happy hour menu is a good deal. I ordered a BlackBerry Margarita and the chimichanga plate. The BlackBerry Margarita was delicious! Not too sweet and the amount of tequila was just right to where I had a hint of it. The chimichanga itself needed more flavoring. I added their spicy salsa, but even then I found it still needed more flavor. The same with my friend's taco fish plate. The only one that didn't need extra flavoring was my cousins carne asada plate. I would recommend the happy hour menu and the carne asada plate. As to the other dishes I would say maybe the flavoring was off that day or they play it safe with the amount of salt they use as people tend to watch how much sodium they consume. read more

Wait staff was kind, but the food was disappointing. The chorizo burrito I ordered really didnt have a lot of flavor to it, and the price was outrageous for the amount of food I got (small scoop of refried beans and Mexican rice for the sides). I didnt finish the burrito because it was kinda soggy (wasnt a wet burrito btw) and tasteless, and the sides were such small portions. Not the worst thing I've eaten, but certainly really far from the best. Maybe I'm spoiled because I come from SoCal and there's authentic food everywhere, but... I probably won't be back. My son and I have been coming to Juan Colorado for years. The place is clean and has a nice decorative appeal inside. The wait staff are very friendly and attentive. I am the Meg Ryan of ordering (old school reference, I know): always changing the regular menu items with specific requests; and they accommodate me with genuine sincerity every time. The food is very good and usually very plentiful. Maybe a bit expensive (hence the one-star off), but nothing prohibitive. As long as they are open, we will be visiting our regular 1-2 times per month. (Side note - they are also very kind to let my son and I practice our very remedial Spanish). read more

We were seated immediately, but then we sat, waiting. It took a ridiculously long time for a server to acknowledge us and bring water and chips. After that, the service was fine. My margarita was huge and delicious. The salsa had an unpleasant aftertaste. The entrees were mostly good, except for the slurry they're trying to pass off as refried beans. It's obviously made from some sort of powdered mix, and it's completely inedible. Between the service delay and the godawful bean slurry, I can only give 2 stars. read more

Not my idea of Mexican but I'm probably spoiled growing up in the Southwest. Lack of flavor, spice, heat. I expected my Chile relleno to come w tortillas like their menu says but it did not. I was assuming they'd be homemade otherwise I don't understand why you would add store bought tortillas but the taco shells tasted like they came from Safeway so there's no way those tortillas would have been home made. My point is, I didn't miss anything. Really expensive lunch for them to get it wrong though- lesson learned. They have a 3.5 for a reason. Chipotle is a better alternative as everything is fresh.
