Fajita chicken salad huge portion and delicious

Delicious and huge portion! Fajita chicken salad! You can also customize it but the original is perfect!

Combination 2 leftover nachos

Absolute fire. Big portions, delicious food, what else can you ask for. It's the real deal no notes. Hard to come by solid rice and beans these days. This place never disappoints.

Cow heart

Three tacos with rice and beans and a two dollar bottle of water came to $19.50. I asked them to break it down for me and they said each taco was three dollars and then the rice and beans was seven dollars and the bottle of water was two dollars. a three taco plate obviously should not cost that much money. The other dish we ordered was the enchiladas for $12. That also came with rice and beans. As you can see in the photos, there was a cow heart valve/artery. We also asked them about that, but to them that was normal. I was with my Colombian friend. So language was not a problem. He and I have eaten at all the Mexican food restaurants together in this area. We prefer Sanchez.

Hands down, THE BEST Mexican food on the Westside. Generous portions made with quality ingredients and amazing flavor. My go to has been the chicken enchiladas with either crema or mole sauces. Their chimichangas are also incredibly huge and delicious!!

Combo 5

This place is on the corner of an expansive strip mall and it is a diamond in the rough. This place is quite small on the inside but it is welcoming. The staff doesn't speak much English but they speak enough to get your order right. The food is amazing and inexpensive. I got combo number 5. It came with steak, chicken, and shrimp with sides of rice and beans. Everything tasted great and it was difficult to eat all that food. I will return.

Big portions for a decent price. There's tons of stuff on the menu ranging from classic Mexican food to Breakfast and American. Full list of breakfast items which I haven't tried. I actually want to try out the other items to see how they all are and I will update this. The Superburrito was great and my GF had the Torta. The Superburrito was great. Stuffed with meat and fresh cilantro. Rice was great and fluffy with tomato and onion mixed in. Both beans and rice were very hot. The burrito was warm although I owe that to the cilantro and cheese inside partially cooling it. Totra was big and filling as well. Worth the price. They forgot the Avacado and side of Sour Cream for my GF order which easily keeps this under a 5 star. Service was quick and took about 10-15 minutes to get our food.

Your GPS will probably fail you as the place is tucked in the back of a strip mall so it may be difficult to find. A thick menu of Mexican and American selections greats you as you enter. The absence of an ordering line was refreshing, I almost didn't know what to do. That is, unlike the norm in Portland - including almost every Mexican restaurant - here they bring a menu to your table. They add a unique twist to an already tasty torta by pouring a flavorful red sauce over it. While I'm fond of the taste it's a pain in the ass to eat; utensils are definitely required. It's just not fun cutting into a soggy sandwich. The Chile Relleno was larger than the usual, but had an "eggy" taste as there was too much batter. Although it included a decent amount of Mexican white cheese, the type they use has little taste. One of my favorite dishes was a far cry compared to that at Tortilleria Y Tiende de Leon on Glisan and NE 161st in Portland. Rice was not so good, beans...meh. The carnitas taco (probably all their tacos) was big. I somewhat judge a place on this succulent meat and here it's done right. And a great price too! While the flour tortillas were standard out of the plastic bag, the corn ones were made on site. Homemade flour tortillas are more labor intensive so that's why you rarely see them, but be sure to get them when you do. The condiment selection was average: red, green, Tapatio and Valentino. Service was friendly. This place is value, some good deals to be had. I was the only person in the place who didn't speak Spanish, which is awesome. Be sure to allow yourself extra time as the traffic in Tigard SUCKS!

Enormous burrito with chorizo.

In the mood for a Mexican Breakfast. Guys each ordered the enormous breakfast burrito with chorizo. They came with sour cream, lettuce, and avocado. Us ladies ordered Machca with chiliquilas, they were so good with scrambled eggs with grilled onions, red peppers and meat. Tons of food!!! One of the guys ate his entire burrito. The rest of us only ate half of our breakfasts and are looking forward to the leftovers for tomorrow's breakfast.

Had it to go... fresh, hot, LOTS of cheese, sauce and eggs... mmmmhmm! Yummy yummy.

OMG... What a find! Best chili rellenos my husband and I have ever had... very authentic! HUGE portions, modest fees. A bit of a mom and Pop shop... absolutely NOT in a bad way. Been there 3x and if mama and grandma are in the kitchen cooking, and daughter is hosting... 5 star every time! Not high class fancy Dancy but you et 10x more than you pay for. My opinion, why could I not find this place on yelp? Worth a try for anyone wanting the best chili rellenos we have ever had EVER!

Really, really slow service. I didn't come during the "lunch hour" either. It's 3:25 PM and I've been waiting nearly 20 minutes for a burrito. It's definitely a "call ahead and pick up" type of place. Very disorganized. I'm honestly not sure how they can stay in business. It's now been 30 minutes and after going up to the counter twice to inquire when my food will be ready, the lady looked at me and said, "What did you order?". After explaining that it's her responsibility to keep track of that stuff, she found my order. After finally receiving the food and taking it back to work, I saw the presentation: a blob of what I imagine is supposed to be guacamole and another blob of sour cream on top of shredded lettuce. The kicker was the melted cheese and tomatoes on top. Keep in mind this is a egg and chorizo burrito. How'd it taste? It was OK. The other three Mexican restaurants within a mile or two of them are HANDS DOWN better. It's a little out of the way and tucked into the backside of a strip mall. Do yourself a favor and don't make the mistake I did by looking for it.

For the past few months or possibly more, there is a server/closing-manager (male Caucasian, glasses, ponytail) who only reluctantly provides the HH menu. About two months ago, I asked when HH started, and he said in 7 minutes (i.e., it was 9:53pm). I asked how much I'd save on the beer I was contemplating if I waited for 7 minutes, and he said a dollar or two, so I told him I'd wait until then to place my order. It seemed like a pretty light day, yet he took a full 20+ minutes to come take our order -- it felt like he was punishing me. Last night, it was 10:10pm and I asked if there was a HH menu. He said "not yet." I thought he meant that they hadn't yet been published, but when I went to the bar to say hi to someone I know, I saw a HH menu already on the bar. I'd already ordered off the regular menu, and chose to not change to something on the HH hour just to avoid the conflict. I have no idea what is inspiring this behavior. Perhaps people who order off HH menus don't tip well? In any case, this new HH attitude has definitely dampened my enthusiasm for Fireside. Which is sad since it still has a great tap list and menu.

When we moved to Oregon, it was under construction but we kept hearing how good it was - in fact, all the local FB pages would gush about it when a newcomer would ask about the best restaurant. And once it finally opened, we tried it, but it was kind of like Marie calendars and Shari's, but local. Ok, but not what we had expected for all the hype. So, after trying a handful of options it seemed Bannings was the only place we could still get breakfast so I begrudgingly agreed. Well, I was mistaken! I got the breakfast enchiladas and a strawberry orange mimosa. Now, the mimosa - I'll get that out of the way first. It was weird - it looked curdled. It just had mashed strawberry at the bottom and it actually was quite good. I'd do a normal mimosa in the future, but good. But the enchiladas - delicious. Like, I'll come back again and again for those. And they didn't charge me extra for the avocado, which I think is righteous because I asked for no hash browns. But not all places would do that, they'd nickel and dime even if you passed on one side for another. Additionally; my husband likes a savory breakfast and a sweet one too - so he often gets two breakfasts and though he may not eat all of both he gets that savory and sweet. Well, the omelettes come with 3 pancakes. Perfection. And, I took 3 bites of them - I usually might try 1 or not at all - they are very very good. Last - it did not break the bank. I've about ruled out breakfast out because of how crazy expensive the places that should be reasonable are. This was reasonable - PLEASE DONT CHANGE!! All in all 5 stars, will be back for breakfast; and hey - when I'm wrong I can admit I was wrong! Give them a try if you haven't!

But in hindsight, I'm not gonna reduce a star just because of location. * Bar Food Menu & Dining * Their menu starts with shareable bites, like a pretzel, tacos, quesadilla, loaded nachos, and even a charcuterie plate. Slightly larger dishes would be their Cubano and Brisket Press sandwiches. They even have a few choices for soup and salads, and a couple of dessert items listed. Don't forget to check the chalkboard next to the bar for specialty dishes and drinks. As for dining-in, they've got sturdy wooden tables that can accommodate 4-8 people. Bar stools by the windows, and a fairly large outside patio area. And with the times I've been here, I've never seen a dirty table. Very well maintained (two thumbs up). A few TV monitors showing the game, but its not like a noisy sportsbar. * Drinks & Services* You've got your choice of craft beers that rotate like a standard tap room. They also have tasty seasonal cocktails, but their normal everyday cocktails are just as good. And if you're gonna have a charcuterie board, then you've got to offer a wine list option right? Well they got that too! One last thing to mention, they've got some top-shelf bourbon and whiskey. The 649 is a bar that offers it all! Service has also been welcoming and top-notch. I recall only been served by Rich, Steven, and Crystal, but they always seem to craft up some lovely cocktails. But The 649 is such a unique type of bar experience that I feel you should try for yourself; To me, their offerings are reasonably priced. Dining in is nothing fancy, but service is excellent.
