I absolutely love the food here. It was one of the first places I tried when I moved to the Tualatin/Tigard area. Their breakfast burritos are tasty, simple, and while sometimes inconsistent, are still a nice warm meal first thing on a Saturday. However, in the last few months, every time I enter, there's a Sonos speaker that is playing music ON BLAST. It's been in a few different locations; over the condiment bar, or behind the register near the kitchen, and at such a volume that I could barely hear the employee at the register, and I had to raise my voice to be heard by them. Additionally, the employee that normally works the register does the bare minimum you would expect for someone taking your order at a register. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. I get my order out in in a timely manner, but I get the sense that, while this is a family-run restaurant, they're not necessarily including their patrons as part of that family. I think their main challenge is their drive thru. They seem to have one person working the register, drive thru, and handling incoming phone orders the majority of the times I've come in. I'll never skip out on this place, but I avoid dining in anymore. You don't come for the vibes or service, really just a quick and tasty meal. read more

I just hopped in the drive thru on this adventure and ordered some tacos. The service was quick but not so fast that you think the food was just sitting around (we've all had that dried out burger). I was originally going to go to taco bell (what a mistake that would have been). I saw this as I was driving by and thought I should give it a try. The beef tacos came out wonderfully like little steak bites in corn shells. Just the right amount of spice and veggies. I will definitely stop back when I'm in the Tigard area as this was just to tasty to pass up again. They do have indoor dining too I just didn't stop inside. So, I cannot comment on the ambiance of the dining room. Don't pass this one up. read more

I Love this places food , but be very careful with the people who work here, may the Lord forgive them for what they do ! They didn't give me my debit card and when I came in and told her she only gave me a receipt, and not my debit card and to please give me my debit card she swore she didn't have it and I went double checking and looking in my purse and car , and she went outside , and miraculously said you dropped it over here ,and swore I dropped it 8 feet away from where the cashier window was , and I wasn't even no where near that area or got out my car where she said it was dropped, so be very careful, and make sure they hand you your debit card, , I pray no misconduct or charges appear later. I know for sure I was only handed a receipt so the owner should investigate and check camera footage. read more

We like this easy quick Mexican food restaurant. The food is very authentic. Order at counter, get drinks at same time and the food is brought to you. I like carnitas and refried beans. My husband had fajitas this visit. Sauces (mild to very hot) are brought to table, and free standing salsa bar. The bright colors and carved wooden chairs give the place a festive feel. read more

The owner is extremely nice, and they even have long hours for when those late night munchies hit! Tonight on a whim I asked our cashier where we could find some flan around in the area (pregnancy craving), and they just happened to have some right there even though it wasn't on the menu! 1 Star -- $14 for This? Seriously? Taco del Sol must think we're living in a different economy. Fourteen bucks for a breakfast burrito made of eggs, potatoes, cheese, and meat -- that's it. Fresh ingredients, sure, but nothing about it justifies that price. There's no avocado, no veggies, no flair -- just the basics wrapped up and marked up. The salsa still absolutely bangs (credit where it's due), but that doesn't balance out a burrito that costs more than inflation ever dreamed of. Great flavor, ridiculous pricing. read more

First time trying and disappointed. I got the taco place thru the drive thru. It looked alright at first but the tortillas were drenched in grease. They weren't even browned, just greased. The chicken was in a red, very oily sauce. I couldn't eat it with so much grease. It said shredded chicken but this was poor quality tiny crumbles of chicken. The food is great every time and consistently even proportions. Every time I go through the drive through the customer service is at a 10. I never drive away not having a better day. It's quick, efficient, and tasty as can be. It's a cute recognizable building that you can't miss or forget. I think this place has gotten better since the Pandemic. I have enjoyed a variety of their items since 2020 and am a fairly regular customer if I have a hankering for a Chorizo and Egg Breakfast Burrito. This morning I ordered that very dish and had it delivered. As per usual good size, still hot, melted cheese and delicious seasoned chorizo with eggs in generous amounts. I love their taquitos although they aren't warm, they are plenty tasty with a good amount of sour cream, lettuce garnish and avocado. Taco del Sol to go orders has become a staple in our household. When my oldest son started junior high eight years ago we made Taco del Sol our late start Wednesday tradition. With school starting an hour later on Wednesdays, we used the extra hour to enjoy delicious, authentic and affordable Mexican food at Taco del Sol. My son always orders the sausage burrito (add beans) and I typically order huevos rancheros with corn tortillas. My youngest loves the hamburgers and quesadillas. I went there there today. Worst food. I ordered 2 crunchy tacos and a tostada. Steak tacos hardly had anything on them. The shells were like store bought and the tostada wasn't even a tostada. Honestly this place gets worse and worse! The service use to be amazing and now they just are plain rude! I got spicy shrimp and they told me it came with a salad, then at the front because the guy forgot to give us the salad he said it didn't come with one, that we needed to pay. The lady taking our order acted like our Spanish wasn't good enough so she only spoked to us in English until I raised my voice to tell us our order in Spanish she need realized she did speak perfectly Spanish! I checked online and it says the "camarones ala diabla" did in fact come with a SALAD. The tacos are on the smaller side and I recommend getting the Birria it is super flavorful. It was not shredded but a huge chunk of stewed beef. A little fatty but tastes amazing. The pastor was also very good. A little oily but goes well with the onions. All of the tacos go very well with the salsa provided. I used the green salsa because the red was too spicy. The red salsa had a bit of smokiness to it but unfortunately too spicy for me to handle. The green salsa was also a little spicy but not nearly as much. I've been going here since I was 9, super delicious food! Service is great! And the place is so amazing aesthetic and welcoming.

I've been getting breakfast burritos from this place off and on over the years. There's no consistency. Previously the bacon iwas clumped together in one part of the burrito. The other issue is that wait times in the drive-through were way too long. I hadn't been there in a while and went back this morning. Bacon was not clumped together as much but the burrito was not hot and cheese was not melted at all. No wonder I got my burrito much faster this morning. At 9 AM ingredients should be hot and fresh. Neither hashbrown nor egg could melt the cheese. Unacceptable I won't be back. read more

They bought massive amounts of different kinds of street tacos for Taco Tuesday so I got to try all of them. The Taco Del Sol spicy pork street tacos are my favorite! At only .99 cents each they are super affordable. Double tortilla, a generous helping of spicy pork, onion and cilantro. My second choice would be the chicken. They include fresh made green and red salsa/sauce on the side. My favorite is the green... It is way milder than the red. This is a warning that the red is pretty heated so if you can't handle it don't try it. lol I think this is the only location and what is super cool if they have a drive-thru. Try it out! read more

Well I don't have much to say except that the staff was super friendly. The food was not that great. My carnita torta was very average and lacked meet unlike Tortas made at other locations. The burger was a frozen patty & way over cooked. French fries were frozen. The fries tasted like they were cooked in old oil. The food was edible but not memorable. Then , six months ago a noticeable decline in the food quality. Now they're open for in-dining and the previous good service is lacking. We have ordered food here four or more times, and I told my husband after our recent order that I've never been disappointed. Some other Mexican restaurants in the area are hit or miss, but Taco Del Sol is consistently delicious. I love the tostada de ceviche. I try to make sure I've got chips, because the portion size is more than the one tostada they provide (in a to-go order, anyway). The tacos are fantastic. I especially love the carnitas and the carne asada. My husband loves the al pastor burrito. The carne asada fries are really good. At a recent Elite event a fellow Yelper recommended this as the goto Mexican place in Tigard/Tualatin. Somewhat authentic taste, good value, ample seating, and easy parking. The time to get your order is on the slow side. The enchilada platter was hefty, you get three of them with better than average rice and beans. We dug in so fast that we forgot to take a photo. :-( Your menu choices include a plethora of authentic dishes including Mulitas and Huaraches. The Huevos Rancheros was kinda meh, the sauce is usually the key, but it was uninspired here. They allow you to split tortillas between corn and flour. They offer basic red and green sauce, but also avocado (I so appreciate this option.) The breakfast burrito is a great deal for $5.25, though it actually includes too much bacon! It was the only item that tasted "Americanized", but still good. These traditional types of Mexican venues are fast disappearing in inner Portland. read more
