Penne pasta plus chicken and pesto...this was great!

This is small restaurant with great service and nice people working at this establishment. Give it a try I am sure you will like.

Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the pasta and how relatively inexpensive it was! Eating and dining out while traveling can add up, especially when visiting the tourist-heavy areas. All the dishes at Pasta Pasta were reasonably priced. The restaurant is along Ferdinand Bolstraat, between Albert Cuypstraat and Govert Flinckstraat in the De Pijp neighborhood. Nearby attractions include the Heineken Experience, Albert Cuyp Market, and Museumkwartier. There's a Metro station entrance around the corner, as well as a couple tram stops within walking distance. Decor is a bit quirky. A couple long tables at the front, more smaller tables in the back. The menu is prominently posted outside, if you want to take a quick glance before sitting down. I went with the build your own pasta option. You first choose the sauce you want, any optional toppings you want for additional euros, and the type of noodle. It's a bit limited compared to many other Italian restaurants, but they have all the essentials. The tagliatelle was cooked perfectly and the texture was chewy. It paired well with the pomodoro sauce I selected, giving the dish a nice umami flavor. Pasta Pasta doesn't close until 11:00 PM, which feels pretty late to me. But there was one time I was out the whole day sightseeing and didn't arrive back at the hotel until 9:00 PM. So thankful it was still open!

The vest ravioli I had in years! Muchrooms ravioli with truffle saus. Delish! Go and get it!

Nothing but love for this place! Fresh, delish, srved with a smile! On the corner of the famous Albert Cuypmarket there is this hidden jem. Fresh pasta for very fair prices. And the staff is extreemly friendly too, no ajustment is too much of a problem. Check it out!

Sorry! Almost finished before I thought to take a picture.

Figuring out good places to eat when in a foreign city can be a challenge. We arrived in Amsterdam two days ago and have only eaten out twice since we have a kitchen where we stay. Tonight was our second dining out experience and we were not disappointed. I ordered the spaghetti puttanesca and my hubby ordered the vodka sauce with penne. We were both very satisfied with our dish and the service. The puttanesca had great overtones of anchovies and capers making it a classic. The vodka sauce was a milder, creamier flavor profile. And the service was given with generosity of spirit and engagement. Each of the men working there had a fantastic smile and gentle energy. Highly recommend this place for a satisfying pasta meal.

I was craving pasta while in Europe and I needed to search for a really good pasta spot, even if not in Italy. After our Heineken experience tour, we came here and found this cute shop for lunch! It was a perfect meal and everything we had here was really tasty. I created my own pasta with Alfredo sauce, chicken, spinach, mushroom and chili peppers and best of all, I got the tagliatelle pasta (thick). My bf got the mushroom ravioli which he really liked as well! Our other friends got the tagliatelle salmone, with big pieces of salmon and smoky flavor and another bologonese pasta filled with meat and veggies. Luckily we didn't even have to wait for this restaurant! Prices are very standard and we even wanted to come back here the next day. Definitely recommend this Italian place when in Amsterdam! The cook is pretty amazing too because you get to watch him juggle cooking several dishes all at once!

Excellent place to go to for a fulfilling pasta dish. I believe this may be a chain restaurant because I seen another location while traveling but the food doesn't taste like your one in a mil chain restaurant. The pasta is made with a lot patience and love to it and is made to order. You can customize it however you want with many various sauces, pasta types, spices, etc. I had my pasta with Alfredo sauce, mushrooms, chili flakes, and chicken and delicious doesn't even explain how good it was.

First time at Pasta Pasta - it was fab - the whole experience was really fab. Super friendly team who made us really welcome and looked after us really good (thx guys!). Easy menu and very tasty food (thx chef!). The white wine was surprisingly good quality. Looking forward to next time already!

While in Amsterdam I decided to check this place out, as it comes up for a good spot for delicious and cheap eats. Bad choice! This was one of the worst pasta dishes I've ever had. I had the shrimp with zucchini in a white wine sauce. No flavor, no salt and lifeless non existent sauce. My friend had the Margarita pizza...same substance there. I would not go back or recommend this place.

Wow, such a bad experience this time, crap food and very rude and unfriendly staff. Went into the restaurant to order carbonara to take away, after ordering pretty quickly I then had a 35 minute wait while other tables got their food, not being told anything I asked after it and got my food shortly after. When getting home after 2 minutes the food was cold, watery, tasteless and had very little bacon in it for a carbonara. I returned to complain and was met with very rude and unhelpful staff who told me that it was a "normal carbonara" so nothing would be done about it. I used to go here regularly and it's my favourite dish so I know what a normal carbonara is like. I was told to leave with or without my food and I won't be returning again.

    Much loved.

Loved our meal. A simple salad and a bowl of bolognese that went ahead and reset my pasta- chakras. It was so good the only picture I snapped was of my empty bowl. Wonderful staff as well a real stand out! Fast, affordable...bang-on!

Absolutely delicious! We visited twice when we were in Amsterdam. The lasagna and fettuccine Alfredo were our favorites.

Really great pasta! The lasagna was fantastic as was the pesto pasta. Excellent bread too, very nice way to warm up on a rainy night.

Service was bad. Prosciutto pizza wasn't cured ham, more resembled salty sliced deli meat.

Another very nice Italian place in the little Italy street from Amsterdam…read more Don't expect pizza's here though this is a real kitchen! This very small Italian is always packed. In the open kitchen you can see (and hear!) the chef work his magic. The bread, the starters, the fresh home made pasta's and the secondi's are all amazing. They import a lot from Italy themselves, and you can even but a bottle of olive oil here. The place is full of ferrari signs, foto's of Sophia Loren, etc. It feels like a second home. Great for a nice romantich night out or a double date, maybe not so good if you go with more then 4 people, as the place is very small. Expect to spend about 115 euro for 2 persons incl a bottle of wine. Make sure you reserve a table!

On the outside it doesn't look all too fancy. Inside, the tables are closely arranged; making getting up from your table quite a challenge at times. However the waitress was friendly, and the atmosphere cosy. I had the truffle tagliatelle, which tasted excellent, but sadly wasn't cooked properly; it stuck together. Same goes for the pasta with sausage we had. Maybe the secondi taste better, but I'm not prone to go check them out after this experience. All in all, good service, but for the pricing they might pay a little more attention to the food.
