No Fancy Schmancy wine glasses, (actually.... what vino??? hehehehe) no private tables. A table... turn off your phones, but don't forget to take pic of your favorite dish to share with your friends. Talking about social: The communal table only seats 7/8 people max, you will seat so close to each other, which makes the experience even better, you will chat, cheer, laugh and maybe even hug. The décor is nonchalant, but the atmosphere, the smell of the dishes, the smiles, laughter create the décor. From what I understand Luigi the owner is usually there, but it was his daughter who hosted that night. So forget about ordering from the menu, look at the dish next to you to order, if you are lucky your neighbor might let you taste. Dress code: wear your eating pants, you will eat much

I was staying in the hostel next door and it was raining - I was too lazy to walk somewhere else for dinner. Peeked into the small restaurant and saw different kinds of pasta dishes in a glass enclosed case. The owner was very charming and welcomed me warmly. I ordered half tortellini and half ziti bolognese which he microwaved and placed in take away containers. Total for both delicious half orders was €8. I enjoyed both and I hope to return again.

Ultra friendly place run by a Venice-born father and his daughter. Lots of Italian classics that will make you drool. Eat some on the large table inside or eat your food at your own place. For a kick-off of an everlasting evening with friends, order the polpette (beef balls with tomato sauce). http://www.amsterdambitestodiefor.com/savoury/beef-con-amore/

I'm not sure why this place hasn't been reviewed much. I stopped I earlier today for an espresso and was digging the vibe so I came back for dinner. The workers and owner greeted us warmly. It is a small place but the food is wonderful! Check it out if you want a good pasta dish.

This little restaurant had some tasty food. We enjoyed the lasagna and tortellini. The space is cute and the prices were reasonable.

Another very nice Italian place in the little Italy street from Amsterdam…read more Don't expect pizza's here though this is a real kitchen! This very small Italian is always packed. In the open kitchen you can see (and hear!) the chef work his magic. The bread, the starters, the fresh home made pasta's and the secondi's are all amazing. They import a lot from Italy themselves, and you can even but a bottle of olive oil here. The place is full of ferrari signs, foto's of Sophia Loren, etc. It feels like a second home. Great for a nice romantich night out or a double date, maybe not so good if you go with more then 4 people, as the place is very small. Expect to spend about 115 euro for 2 persons incl a bottle of wine. Make sure you reserve a table!

On the outside it doesn't look all too fancy. Inside, the tables are closely arranged; making getting up from your table quite a challenge at times. However the waitress was friendly, and the atmosphere cosy. I had the truffle tagliatelle, which tasted excellent, but sadly wasn't cooked properly; it stuck together. Same goes for the pasta with sausage we had. Maybe the secondi taste better, but I'm not prone to go check them out after this experience. All in all, good service, but for the pricing they might pay a little more attention to the food.
