Cute little Italian restaurant near the city center of Amsterdam! If you're looking for a great Italian meal, come to this cozy little spot. We have the mushroom raviolis and a pasta dish, which I was definitely not disappointed about! The service was good. Looked like it was locally owned, older gentleman that was serving us and taking care of everyone in the area. Also, pasta came from a cheese wheel! So good. Great location, appearing to be a mom/pops restaurant. Very intimate ambiance. A younger gentleman was our server, and he was wonderful--very attentive, checking on us several times and keeping our wine and water glasses full. The food was fresh and cooked to perfection. We had planned to order dessert, but after the appetizer, pasta, and wine, we were completely stuffed! Highly recommend this spot. read more

If you favor Italian food in Amsterdam, go here!! Wait staff is so nice and authentic!! I can recommend the chef's special without reservation. It is a pasta dish with mushrooms/veg flame cooked with brandy in a wheel of pecorino cheese cooked tableside. I have never experienced anything like it!! Price was great as well. If you don't go here, you are making a huge mistake. We loved it and will carry the memory of our experience forever. read more

Would not recommend! Found a shard of glass in one of our dishes and when we brought it to our waiters attention he did not apologize and insisted that it did not come from the kitchen, and that it had to have come from somewhere else and that it's our fault. We arrived and they said they had sat too many people and we had to wait for our reservation. After sitting down they told us they where out of all pizza and chicken. Food was mediocre at best. Never have I experienced workers that blame their mistakes on the customers! Don't waste time or money here! read more

Not a huge place, which was great, seats probably 25 inside and a few tables outside if people watching is your thing, it's located in a good traffic area. Small, unassuming restaurant with friendly service, excellent pasta and free wifi. I had the homemade meat lasagna which was incredibly good. The homemade tiramisu was also amazing. It was pretty huge when it came out and I told myself I wouldn't eat it all... but it was so damn good I couldn't resist! And prices are really reasonable too. This small gezellig restaurant on Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal has about 10 or twelve tables plus a few more outside. It's warm and cozy on the inside. One wall serves as a long bench seat. The decor is semi modern with some nice touches like the pictures of Florence on the wall along with pictures of the real Ponte Vecchio. They have a full bar along with beer on tap and beer in bottles. The menu has salads, pizzas, pasta and grilled items. There are a few desserts offered. Tiramisu is on the menu. The waiter who is the owner of the restaurant tells you what the specials of the day are. He's quite warm, friendly and hospitable. It's a very nice relaxed environment. There were a few long moments of wondering how long it would take to get the rest of the meal. It also took a few more minutes at the end to get the check. I ordered a caprese salad that was enough for two. It had eggplant, olives, tomatoes and lettuce. For my main course I ordered the spaghetti bolognese. When I put my fork into it steam came pouring out. It was quite good. I had a nice belgian beer, pawel quak, with my meal. I finished with the tiramisu. It was good but not outstanding. It was okay. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. There were a few tables that arrived later. The owner was very accommodating when it came to allowing my dog into the restaurant. He brought out some water later for my dog which was nice of him since I hadn't asked. I think it's worth going back and trying more of the offerings on the menu. read more

We absolutely struck gold when we chanced upon this charming little restaurant on our way to the train station. A warm and welcoming owner and a young and gracious chef. The food was delicious! Fresh, colorful, masterfully put together and warming to the belly. We had the asparagus and ricotta ravioli and it was scrumptious. We devoured it and we had the house salad, which featured fresh mixed greens, bell peppers, and tomatoes. A balsamic vinaigrette was available for dressing. But I actually truly enjoyed enjoyed it as it was. The ambiance was quaint, and welcoming, gezellig, as we say in Holland! Highly recommend it. Xo read more

An interesting final dinner in Amsterdam. A nice little diner with a great atmosphere, maybe seats 25 which makes it intimate. The food was the top part of the experience, the bruschetta was some of the best I've ever had. The main entrees were just fine, nothing out of the ordinary, but the prices were fair too, between €10-15. What ended up disappointing the group were certain quirks about the restaurant. First, they offer no free tap water, you must buy it at €6 for 75 cl, certainly something to consider. While Italian restaurants usually offer free bread as an appetizer, this one charged €3 for 3 pieces. Next, one of the employees (looked to be the manager) had his family next to us, and the child was screaming/crying throughout the meal. I would let it slide if it was a random family, but the employee was sitting with them, and should have kept the child quiet. Lastly, they refused to let us split the check with cards, which may be common here, but certainly caused us a lot of strife. While the food, service, and ambience were all in place, some little things stopped this restaurant from being great. Would not recommend unless authentic Italian is absolutely your thing. read more

Found this place accidentally while walking back to the hotel after the Anne Frank house and we were very pleasantly surprised. Absolutely delicious food, a quiet, romantic atmosphere and superb customer service.
