First time here and it didn't disappoint. Had a lovely whipped ricotta with lemon shavings honey and a chili oil drizzled on top. Bread was also quite tasty. Split the Veal (huuuuuge) and the cacio e Pepe. Both were good, the flavor was lacking for me in regard to the veal but it was perfectly cooked. For our last meal of the trip, we ate at Cecconi's, and the food was delicious. It was a little bit of an odd setup when we got there because a large portion of the restaurant wasn't open, so they had everyone seated in a relatively small section of the space. I'm not sure if they were holding the rest for a large party or what the reason was, but it definitely felt a little strange. We even saw several people asking for better tables and being told no because that part of the restaurant wasn't open. That said . . . once we were seated, we had a great experience. The food was excellent, the view was great, and we were in a bright area facing outside, which was actually perfect for us. One of my daughter's friends has a severe seafood and nut allergy, and the restaurant was very accommodating and attentive to that, which I always appreciate when traveling. Entrance was off Spuistraat. We were sat accordingly and next to kitchen. This was fun to see as It was an open concept. We ordered a martini, soho mule, and Rosé Champagne. All drinks were good For food, we ordered the artichoke (very interesting blend of ingredients but refreshing), whipped ricotta (yum), beef carpaccio (great portion size). And split the bolognese (delicious and classic) and margarita pizza (also yum, we ordered to much food but the crust was delicious and loved It was a fired pizza). They asked me aunt for a credit card to hold a table which I didn't think was kind because we could in no way making it there because of kings day. They did allow us the reschedule the reservation with easy to avoid a 50 Euro cancellation fee. All is now forgiven. The Hostess greeted us immediately allowed us to seat earlier than are reservation. The ambiance was nice big window with sun coming thru. The tree dropped petals as the wind blew. Nice lighting and temperature. We got burrata and they offered us complimentary Foccia. It was amazing, I almost ordered more Foccia but wanted to see what else they had to offer. For our main course we shared Cacio e pepe, this was my second time having it in Amsterdamn and it was the best. I almost licked the plate the sauce was the perfect textured and properly seasoned. Dessert blew my mine. The best Tiramsu I have ever eaten. My partner agrees. For the price it's a steal. read more

Cecconi's was one of the best restaurants we visited during our short stay in Amsterdam. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, and the service was truly 10 out of 10. I had the entrecôte with peppers and salsa verde -- perfectly seared, packed with flavor, and cooked to perfection. Absolutely looooved my experience at Cecconi's Amsterdam! Came for a late lunch on a Saturday and decided to sample a few dishes. Everything was absolutely incredible. We got: - Mushroom risotto: sooo yummy - Tagliatelle bolognese: This might've been my favorite thing out of the whole meal! - Beef tartare: We loved the addition of the black truffle shavings along with the quail egg - Whipped ricotta: This was so light and delicious. The bread it came with was incredible as well Unfortunately they weren't serving pizzas when we went which was a bit of a bummer. That's my only complaint though! Ceconni's has a great ambiance! We sat in the lounge area, sipped on cosmos and enjoyed live music by a lovely jazz band. The food was good -- focaccia, burrata, selection of meats, bolognese, mushroom risotto and cacio e pepe. They were very accommodating of gluten free! This is probably my 3rd time coming to Cecconi's Amsterdam in two months. There's always great music playing in the background. Today it was jazz. I've always been attended by Gabriel every time. He is an example of what great service is. He is knowledgeable and has great recommendations based on what you're into. I'd like to thank Gulshen the female chef because she prepared the best Branzino I've ever had that I order the dish twice! I reserved a table for one on a Sunday evening and I had an excellent meal. I was seated at one of the low tables by the bar and by the piano, right next to the bar/lounge seating area. My waiter was excellent and so helpful and didn't make me feel weird about dining alone. He made helpful recommendations about each stage of the meal from the drink to dessert. I started with bread and the soup. No complaints. Not only was the Bon Vivant an great drink recommendation, but it was also pink! Between the candlelight and the mirror table, the photograph conditions were ideal. I was between two main courses and with the waiter's help, I went for the lobster spaghetti, which was excellent. I had the Montepulciano with the meal and tea for after dinner. When it was time for dessert, I asked the waiter which is the most beautiful and you could tell he didn't get that question a lot. He recommended the fruit tart and said it was also the most delicious. It was very good. I asked for his name but unfortunately I forgot it, but I do remember he's from Portugal and hadn't been working there very long. He deserves all the compliments and made my visit to Cecconi's Amsterdam a pleasant experience. read more

Went here to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was a private dining event featuring a variety of offerings. Everything was great. Service was excellent. They brought out wines that went perfectly with each course. The standout dish was the branzino. I'm usually not a fan since it doesn't really knock me out versus other seafood. But this was very well prepared and probably my favorite dish of the evening. Having landed in Amsterdam from Chicago hours beforehand, I was fighting some serious jet lag. Having been to Cecconi's in LA and Miami, I was looking forward to visiting this location, as Amsterdam is one my favorite cities ever. However the food is mediocre at best: it lacks any substantial flavor and leaves a lot to be desired. As for the service, the hostesses are very sweet and kind, but the bar staff, they come off a bit cold in their approach. I really wanted to spend as much time as possible here but the food situation really needs to improve because such a spectacular location deserves equally impressive food. read more

Cecconi's is a great addition to the Amsterdam lunch and dinner scene. The restaurant interior in the atrium of one of the great old Amsterdam buildings, which also houses the SOHO house, is worth a visit by itself. The interior design adds to this fantastic environment. A great bar and lounge to enjoy a cocktail and a cozy restaurant overlooking the Canal in the back complete this puzzle. During my visits I always found the food and service to be excellent and enjoy the passion with which the mostly Italian staff takes care of the guests. read more
