    Grilled fish special

Pretty authentic Italian restaurant in Amsterdam city center. On a quieter street than usual and has the most dedicated employees. I've been there twice in two days. They start you off with bread service and amazing butter. First day I had the seafood mix and the second day I got the shrimp gambero pasta and both plates were wiped clean with the bread. Also got the tiramisu the second day and it didn't disappoint. One last tip is make sure you make a reservation because if they get busy you'll lose your chance on some good Italian! Service 5/5 Food 5/5 Atmosphere 5/5

When we were seated, the waiter asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. We specified tap water and were told we must choose a bottle. This attitude was emblematic of the service at Savini. We are not in Italy and other Dutch restaurants served us tap water. As we ordered, I only ordered a main course. The waiter asked what I wanted to drink. I was tempted to say tap water, but replied that I did not want a drink. He gave me a very rude look. After finishing the starters, the waiter cleared away the bread plates and bread basket. When my husband asked to keep the bread, we got another rude huff and look. Obviously they think we are obnoxious Americans. As the saving grace, all of the food was very good. I had the rack of lamb, medium rare and it was excellent. Others had pizza with rocket and carpaccio, scallopine parmigiana (a special) and spaghetti con popole (meatballs, another special). We all enjoyed the food and were dismayed at the service. The mentos mints at the end were perfect. So we would recommend because the food was that good

This was our first dinner in Amsterdam and what a great pick! We came on a rainy Monday night and there were a few tables. To start, they give your complimentary bread (yum, love the compound butter!). We shared 3 pasta dishes: linguine and clams, shrimp spaghetti, and spaghetti and meatballs. The pastas were super fresh and the sauces were light and non-greasy. My favorite had to be the shrimp pasta. They give you lots of protein and the prices are reasonable. Service was great and the ambiance was quiet and quaint.

If you're traveling to Amsterdam, you have to eat at this restaurant... YOU HAVE TO! My boyfriend and I were wandering down the street (lost lol), and we stumbled upon this inconspicuous gem. Of all of the restaurants on the street, this was the only that was packed. Good sign! Since we couldn't be seated immediately, we put our names down on the reservation list and got a drink at a nearby bar. When we came back, we were seated at a cozy table in the back. Our waitress was warm, friendly, and accommodating. She quickly brought out bread and olive oil. Yum! We ordered wine, and I ordered the clams with linguine in white wine sauce. Even though we weren't in Italy, I absolutely loved the dish! I never do this, but we actually ordered dessert. We got the tiramisu, which is perfect to share and super delicious. With it's yummy food and charming services, Savini is a must for every tourist's list. I hope to return one day.

We decided to end our 18 day Europe trip with an Italian meal. We arrived a bit after 9pm and were given the option to sit inside or out. Since it was a nice and warm evening, we decided to sit outside. I ordered the minestrone vegetable soup to start. I'm the type that likes to have soup at least a few nights a week. This was maybe the second time I had soup this trip, so the minestrone soup was delicious and comforting. The broth had a lot of flavor and tons of chopped veggies. For my entree, I ordered the linguine alle vongole veraci (linguine and clams). A generous amount of clams in their shell is served on a bed of linguine in a garlic and white wine sauce. The dish was bland and a bit on the oily side. The only thing I could taste were the clams. WHAT TO KNOW: *Indoor or outdoor seating *Service sucked. We were ready staring at the waitress and waiter while they stood there just talking to each other. Our waitress wasn't the friendliest person either. *Complimentary bread and what I think was a cilantro butter *A variety of food on the menu: pizza, pasta, meat, seafood *Prefix menus available

Had the salmon entree w baked potato and salad. Couldn't decide between pasta and this so waiter brought a side of pasta. So nice! Food was good. Cousin had Linguine al Asticea, lobster could have been a bit better but overall decent. Sauce and pasta were good.

Unlike previous reviews, services were good. Friendly and accommodating. Pasta were good as it claimed to be homemade. Complimentary warm bread was also plus but I found this place very expensive for Italian food (€17-21 for pasta, €12-17 for pizza) and drinks (€4.75-6.75 for glass of (should be €2.5-3) wine). Most Western Europe offer good pasta under €15. Especially homemade tiramisu shouldn't be more than €6. Here, Dessert are all €9! Unless this is your last meal on earth, try something else as you don't miss too much by not having the Italian food in Amsterdam.

We came across this place on a rainy Monday night and it was delicious! They have 4 preset menus as well as the option to order individually. I ordered menu 4 which had caprese salad, truffle ravioli, and a chocolate ice cream dessert. The whole thing was divine! The space is a little tight but has a great atmosphere. Would def recommend a try - especially the ravioli!

Dinner at Savini was wonderful. The food, service and atmosphere was superb. Just enhanced my travel to Amsterdam with fine dinning.

Came in with a group of six. Got promptly seated and had our orders taken, and then waited 90 minuets for our mains. Avoid.

In the open kitchen you can see (and hear!) the chef work his magic. The bread, the starters, the fresh home made pasta's and the secondi's are all amazing. They import a lot from Italy themselves, and you can even but a bottle of olive oil here. The place is full of ferrari signs, foto's of Sophia Loren, etc. It feels like a second home. Great for a nice romantich night out or a double date, maybe not so good if you go with more then 4 people, as the place is very small. Expect to spend about 115 euro for 2 persons incl a bottle of wine. Make sure you reserve a table!

On the outside it doesn't look all too fancy. Inside, the tables are closely arranged; making getting up from your table quite a challenge at times. However the waitress was friendly, and the atmosphere cosy. I had the truffle tagliatelle, which tasted excellent, but sadly wasn't cooked properly; it stuck together. Same goes for the pasta with sausage we had. Maybe the secondi taste better, but I'm not prone to go check them out after this experience. All in all, good service, but for the pricing they might pay a little more attention to the food.
