I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone of any class. The service here was extremely slow. Although we were seated quickly, our waiter had an interpretation on us as we didn't order wine. We then had to wait over 30 minutes to just order our antipasto while many other tables were helped every few minutes. The tables that were helped quickly were dressed as they seemed to have a lot of money. Once we finally ordered, the waiter continued to have an attitude and took down my order wrong. The food itself was okay at best. I ordered gnocchi and received pasta. Another ordered raviolis which were drenched in oil. My pasta was over cooked and tasted like straight olive oil. For the price and the service I would not recommend unless you're looking to get ripped off. read more

The best Italian food you will ever eat! We ate here twice during our stay in The Hague. The staff will make you feel like family from beginning to end. The service is excellent, food is delicious and you can sit outside as you enjoy people pass by over a nice glass or bottle of wine! If you order their signature dish - fresh pasta with truffle and parmesan cheese, they invite you to take part in viewing as they prepare something you don't see very often - pasta served out of a giant flaming parmesan cheese wheel! Leonardo and Maurizio were our excellent servers who made our experience that much more special. At the end of our meals, they serve you homemade limoncello. We may have to go to back to The Hague every year just to eat here! read more

Four of us just returned from an amazing night at Ristorante Tattoria. The food, wait staff, and atmosphere were incredible. Federico, the executive chef, took the time to visit our table multiple times, and our main waiter, Alena, provided excellent service. All four of us have been to many top rated restaurants, and this meal ranks in the top three. If you are in The Hague, Ristorante Trattoria should be the first place you visit for dinner. We just stumbled on to this restaurant. I was skeptical at first because on the Yelp showed the price as €€€€. Anyway we went there without reservation and the manager went ahead and sat us down at a table. Services and the foods are excellent. The prices going from 10€ to 40€. Our meals, two glass of wine, two desert, bottle of water which total to 60.30€. We also got a supprise opera performance from one of waiter. Highly recommended!!!! read more

Let me start by saying that when I travel, I try certain dishes to determine the quality of any establishment and judge that establishment on that dish...it's an attempt for me to try and keep things even. The atmosphere and service here has already been discussed...both of which are very good to stellar. I had the veal saltimbocca, which is my go to judgement dish. At Impero, it was one of the best I've had worldwide. Maybe 2nd or 3rd ever. At €22, I cannot understand the complaints about the cost here...you ARE in Den Haag and prices will be what they are. Not a bad deal given what I got here. My colleague got the Gnocci with Truffles and in no way did Impero skimp on the truffles. Absolutely wonderful dish. The olive oil for dipping was of stratospheric quality, but the tiramisu was only serviceable. I wasn't pleased with the lack of liquer in the dish and the overuse of cream. At the end of the meal, the waiter came with some limoncello as a digestive for free. We felt like we were in a family establishment, where they truly enjoyed their craft. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area of The Hague or staying at the Hotel des Indes. read more

Great Italian food, even better ambiance and just a great find for the Hague. I should start this review with saying it's been a while since I've gone back (for obvious geographic reasons), but when I was in the Hague for a week, I ended up coming here three times (twice for dinner, once for lunch). The food here is great and their deserts are a must. Of the venues around the area this is a must try. What's even better is the ambiance. It's a small cozy restaurant so you'll have that close intimate feel. On top of that, sometimes various musical street performers will be invited in to play. The last time I went, one of the waiters actually sang along with the music. Great environment in general. The location of this restaurant is great, and is located fairly centrally (as far as I could tell). There's easy access via the tram and a short walk so no excuses for why not to visit. Overall, I just had to write a review so that this place doesn't go unnoticed and is definitely worth a try if you're in the country. read more

I met a friend from Italy for lunch and she asked whether I wanted a sandwich or Italian from her favorite restaurant...duh. (When a native who is a great cook in her own right asks if you want authentic food from her country...) Anyway, we started with a lovely bruschetta, then had a lovely pasta dish (the specialty of the house) made in a giant Grana Padano 'bowl' table side. After that, the chef prepared the most tender veal steak I've ever had with a porcini mushroom sauce. We finished our meal with coffee but no dessert (it was lunch, after all) and a complimentary limoncello. Yes, it was expensive (about €100 for the 2 of us), but definitely worth it for a special outing. read more

An excellent traditional pizzeria in the centre of the Hague, book a table or be prepared to wait as it is small and cosy. Fantastic food especially the speciality dish baked sea bass. Fantastic selection of wines, attentive staff. A great place to dine as a couple, or with family and friends. Not ideal for young children read more

This is an absolutely authentic Italian restaurant with the specialties originating from the Brindisi area of Italy. The sea bass specialty is probably the best Italian meal I've eaten anywhere in the world; and I spent 20 years traveling throughout Italy. Imperial Romano is frequented by many of the worlds ambassadors to Holland, and King William has eaten here with other Royals and heads of state. The food is of the highest quality, much of it imported from Italy. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking a spectacular Italian meal while in The Hague. read more

This place looked appetizing as we walked by. We were looking at the menu and one of the waiters welcomed us in. The service was impeccable throughout the meal; they refilled our glasses promptly, tended to us, were friendly and helpful. At one point it got too hot in the restaurant and we asked to be reseated outside. The servers said "of course." I had the Farfalle al Salmone, with fungi trifolati. It was delicious and the quantity of food was great. Definitely do not rush during a heavy meal like this. The wine was smooth and tasty. For dessert I had Sgroppino, which was super savory. We took our time and enjoyed our food. The prices weren't out of this world, they were reasonable for the food we got. We will definitely come back and highly recommend this place. read more

We tried three kinds of pasta :potato Gnochi with truffle sauce, Arabiata custom order, and ravioli with aubergine. The tomato sauce on both last two dishes had very little of freshness and seemed more of a paste, aubergine was just tasteless , the gnochi was nothing memorable. I was there a month ago and thought will give this time pastas a shot.Atmosphere is lively but food served would not be the star of the conversation. Will not go there again: two stars for the food . Service is fine.4 stars for ambiance. 3 stars for Hague standards would barely be two stars to a comparable second rate London restaurant ex Salle Peppe. read more
