The Pasta Bowl in Wicker Park is a solid spot I ended up at after doing some perusing around Bucktown. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the big front windows let in a ton of beautiful natural light--though sitting right near the window actually felt a bit toasty! Service was quick and easy, making the whole dining experience seamless. For food, we started with the Tuffo Saporito. The sauce was light yet delightfully decadent, and it paired really well with the drier, toasted bread (which felt like it might have been day-old bread, perfect for soaking up all that flavor). For my main, I ordered the Linguini Pesto with grilled chicken and asked if I could get it Diablo style. The pasta was cooked perfectly with bold flavors that I really enjoyed, and the Diablo style definitely brought that extra kick I was craving! It was a fairly heavy dish, so I could only finish about half, but that just meant great leftovers for later. The pricing was very reasonable for Italian, making it a solid neighborhood pick. I'd definitely be back whenever I need to scratch that quick itch for some good pasta! read more

We've been to The Pasta Bowl for so many times and I always forget to write a review on it! We first discovered The Pasta Bowl on DoorDash, and did not regret it. We loved it so much that we had to go to the actual physical location! The Farfalle Pollo is a solid pasta choice. This recent time around, we ordered one pasta to share between two people since we didn't want to eat too much. Our server was so nice that we got two pieces of bread (when normally there is only one piece of bread per pasta order) and the portions were large enough that we even had leftovers to bring home! The Ravioli Tostati was also very delicious. We wish that there was an option to have meat inside of the ravioli, but the marinara sauce brings in great flavors with the cheese filled raviolis. There was a waitlist when we got there (~6pm on Saturday), but you can drop your name and number, and then they will text you once your table is ready. The wait was about 20 minutes for us. Love the interior though, very intimate seating and dim lights. It's perfect for a casual date. read more

If the pasta bowl has no fans, then I'm dead. My girlfriend and I frequently order the 'dinner for two' special on doordash, and we are more than satisfied each time we've ordered it. I've tried nearly all of the pastas at this point, and they are all delicious, and the portion sizes are humongous. You could get 2-3 meals out of their portions. The strawberry walnut pear salad is one of THE MOST delicious things i've ever eaten. I'm a glutton, and NEVER go for a salad, but this salad is insane. The ingredients always taste super fresh. I could eat POUNDS of this salad. I love you, Pasta Bowl. read more

Staff was attentive. Small cozy place. Food was good but I think carry-out is their money maker. I love being able to see inside the kitchen. We were in the area running errands and had dinner. read more

HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE PORTIONS OH MY GOODNESS!! What an affordable pasta shop, and the food is DELICIOUS! We got the farfalle pollo which is grilled chicken with sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, cheese, and house cream sauce. This was like the perfect marriage of subtle tomato tangy flavors with creamy goodness. The tomato infused into the sauce helps cut through the rich sauce, and the sundried tomatoes add a nice texture. We also got the pesto linguine and added shrimp for $4. This was on the creamier side for pesto, but still absolutely spectacular for the $16 price (before shrimp). I just can't imagine finding a giant bowl of pasta for much much cheaper than this, and in such a vibey area in wicker park too. Our waiter was sooo kind and the service was super efficient too. I also liked the slightly old school vibe with four TVs playing different shows and movies, such as a Bob Ross painting tutorial. read more

I went here for an impromptu date. The food here was good, I really enjoyed the brucetta though. The portions are large and the service was attentive and polite. This is a cozy place perfect to fill up on your favorite pasta dishes. They have a nice selection of wines to go with your meal and the kitchen is right there so you can watch the chefs whip up your meals as well as the waitstaff dashing back and for with their speedy service. My date said this was the best pasta he's had in Chicago! Prices were pretty reasonable as well for the area. Parking is limited, as there is a lot of residential permit parking only, so pay attention if you park on the side streets read more

Pasta Bowl is a decent Italian spot in Wicker Park. Service is top notch! The ambiance is nice and dark. Mozzarella sticks are so so good! The strawberry walnut pear salad is one of my favorites from the menu. Pastas are pretty good too, not too traditional but the portion sizes here are huge! This place is great for both dine in and take out as well. The dessert and drinks menu is however limited. read more

We were so blessed with having Daniela H was our Server tonight! She is AMAZING! She was super attentive, professional and friendly. No doubt that the level of customer service she presents & provides are major contributors to the overall customer experience and customer loyalty. Very affordable for a group, food was just okay. Unfortunately the worst part of our experience was our server, not super attentive, and when we asked for separate checks she asked if "we could please not". We weren't even there for an hour, the restaurant wasn't busy, nor were we demanding customers. So the entire interaction just felt very unprofessional on top of the food being disappointing! Would not recommend read more

Portion sizes are huge! Great price to have left overs, the Oreo bar is amazing. The inside is quiet and cozy.

Service was good and affordable but food is terrible compared to all the good restaurants around it

Pasta bowls are bigger than your head. One of my favorite places in Chicago. Simple but delicious every time. Service was prompt. No frills establishment that keeps you wanting to come back for more. We got the garlic cheese bread and chicken alfredo pasta. The pasta was rich and creamy. It's my favorite chicken Alfredo I've had in the city so far! read more

Really really amazing experience. There was so many yummy options on the menu, we got the rosemary gnocchi gorgonzola and it was really good with really strong gorgonzola flavor. We also got a couple drinks which were also delicious. Most importantly, our server Carena was amazing; she was so so sweet and personable. She made our experience very fun and we'll definitely be going back :) read more

Solid pasta spot! The food was tasty, but the highlight was really how large the portion sizes are! You are definitely getting a great deal for the price. For an appetizer, we ordered the small mixed green salad. I liked the balsamic vinaigrette because it was very flavorful. The salad had fresh greens, tomatoes, olives, and beans. I liked the mix of textures a lot! It was pretty filling though because of the beans and the size! It could probably feed 4 people as an appetizer/side. For mains, we ordered fettuccine shrimp Alfredo and the conchiglie gorgonzola. The portions were MASSIVE. Honestly I think each could feed 2-3 people, so definitely expect leftovers. The fettuccine Alfredo was very rich and the sauce was a little thicker and creamier than I prefer, but my partner really enjoyed it! I liked the conchiglie gorgonzola a lot! It had a more balanced flavor and I liked that it had spinach. Gorgonzola is an acquired taste though so if you're not into blue cheese it might not be for you. Both pasta dishes came with a large slice of bread too! On a Friday evening, we walked in and it was packed. We put our names down for 2 people and it was a 20-30 minute wait. Once we were seated, the service was excellent! Just attentive enough and very kind. The food was taking awhile to come out so the server offered us a free dessert. We were too full by the end of the dinner but they offered a dessert to take home! Overall, a great spot for affordable and yummy Italian food. read more

We had dinner with the husband and kids at Pasta Bowl - not sure of which location. It was very good! I had the lobster ravioli which was fresh, ravioli were cooked extremely well - not soggy or hard - and the lobster filling was very good. The sauce very tasty. I opted for no spinach. Came with bread which was fresh. Husband got chicken Alfredo - it was a mountain of pasta! Very generous portion. He thought it was great also. One of the kids got the kid's Mac and cheese - we shockingly got the comment of "best Mac and cheese I've ever had" from a super picky eater! We also were told "can we come back again!" from the super picky eater which should serve as a compliment ! The service was prompt and polite, and the food came out exceedingly fast which was a nice surprise for such busy place. We were seated almost immediately also which for a Saturday evening was great. Pricing is very reasonable particularly for Chicagoland. They cook the food right in front of everyone which was neat to see. Parking in on the street. Would definitely recommend and would come back if in the area. read more

a very popular italian restaurant in wicker park. TLDR; very busy (during peak times with dine-in and takeout orders) with not too much seating, reasonable prices given the huge portions of pasta (easily 2 servings), decent taste. we came at 7pm on a saturday and it was very busy but since we were a party of 2 we got a table in 15 minutes (otherwise 45+). recommend waiting near the restaurant because if other parties don't show up they will move down the waitlist pretty fast. service was decent, a bit rushed and took awhile because it was very busy so understandable. took awhile to get a waitress to order but our food came in ~20 minutes after. // signature farfalle pollo ($18.00) // signature cream sauce pasta with farfalle pasta, sliced chicken, and some sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms. came with one piece of bread and parmesan on top. as mentioned, very huge portions for italian restaurants. thought the pasta sauce would have more of a sundried tomato flavor but it's traditional cream sauce with some chunks of tomatoes. food was not the most hot, borderline lukewarm so it got cold really fast. // strawberry, walnut, and pear salad ($15.00) // good portion for a salad, could be an entree. really enjoyed the combination of strawberry, walnut, pear, and the goat cheese (which ties it together in my opinion). would say it's decent italian food, nothing extraordinary but i would definitely come here for the portion sizes (especially if u want some leftovers (: ) read more

Great food, affordable prices, very consistent. Order from this place all the time on DoorDash.

I came back and had a great group dinner! Pasta bowl is a great place to stop by with bigger groups as the portions are massive, the prices affordable, and the service is always top notch. I will say, after trying several different pastas, I won't recommend the penne alla vodka bc it doesn't taste like penne alla vodka at all, but I would highly recommend their own classics like the tortellini! Their garlic cheese bread is also a must have--have made several people try it and they've all loved it! read more

Tried the pasta bowl dinner deal for $55, which included a salad, an app, two pastas and a dessert. Great deal for the amount of food but overall the food was mediocre. The spinach salad had good ingredients and a decent dressing. We got the cheesy garlic bread for our app and it was just ok. For pastas, we got the chicken Alfredo and the lucky penne. I enjoyed them enough for the price but they were very heavy/oily and I wouldn't be back for either. The cheesecake was our choice for dessert and again, just average. We also made requests in the comments (no mozzarella on my penne, add Diablo toppings to his fettuccini bc it wasn't an option online) and both were ignored. Overall, great deal for the price and quick Italian but certainly nothing to write home about. With all the other authentic Italian in wicker park, don't think we will be back for this one. read more

I love the past bowl, I go once a month with family! We love pasta bowl! We usually go in the summer but now it's our fall outing.

Normally I don't tip for to-go orders. The associate was very kind to help me order since it was my first time ordering there and had some restrictions. That what led me to leave a tip. Not a huge tip but still extra money I could've kelp. I say that because I sat at a table while I wait for my food. A different associate brought out my food, called my name and just sat my food at the counter. How hard would it had been to just hand it to me. I would've walked over as I did when my name was called. The lack of customer service, especially when its your first time visiting just doesn't sit well with me. read more

Great spot if you're craving a big bowl of pasta! The space is nice and cozy - perfect for having a big Italian meal haha. The portions are very generous here so plan accordingly! We got the tuffo saporito, caprese salad, and the farfelle pollo pasta. The food was delicious! The tuffo saporito was super tasty with the goat cheese and marinara and was a perfect appetizer to start with. The farfelle pollo pasta was soooo delicious! The sauce was super creamy and the bowl was huge. We split it between two people and had leftovers to take home. And the caprese salad was okay, nothing too special and I was surprised it didn't come with balsamic. I came here for a quick bite with my sister and we were waiting a while for a server to come attend us. We saw that the bartender was busy so we didn't mind waiting because we thought she was also serving alone. After a couple minutes, this white lady came in with her kid and not too long after, the server approached them.We noticed the bartender tell her something about no one attention us and she said " oh i'm sorry" with a sense of sarcasm and attitude. She then continued to do other things instead of attending us or at least letting us know she'd be with us.I don't know if she avoided our table because we're hispanic or something but for whatever reason, this behavior is unacceptable. Food is pretty decent overall but I went in for a pickup order and asked the woman with the blonde hair. Came in Saturday lunch time and it was packed! We had to wait a bit for them to clean a table for 4 of us, but were given the menu to look at. It didn't take too long before we got seated. The waiter was extremely friendly and helpful! I wish I got his name, but he definitely made the experience. Paloma - a nice drink to start the day! It wasn't strong at all, and it tasted a bit different than how I thought palomas tasted. Just an average 6.8/10 nothing special but not bad at all Cheesy sticks - would've liked them fried a bit more! Had a good cheese pull still. The yellow sauce was queso like so I love it. Sauce - 9.1/10 Sticks - 6.2/10 Calamari - nice and crispy! Exactly what I expected from calamari. Good taste and quantity imo. 7.4/10 Pasta - this was the chefs special! It's been a while since I had pasta so as a carb lover this was great. The sauce was creamy and the pasta were cooked well. A good amount of chicken and veggies! Could only eat half of it so I was happy with the portion - the day after it was still good heating it up. 7.8/10 read more
