Delicious pizza! Really good thin slices with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. I ordered 2 slices (which are huge by the way) and it turns out each slice comes with a drink too! (Coke, Diet Coke, sprite, bottled water). I took my pizza to go and they offered me Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes also. For individual slices they had cheese, pepperoni, and sausage, and their full pizzas are made to order. I got a cheese slice and a pepperoni slice (2 huge slices were about $15). Would love to come back and try some of the more unique pizza flavors because I really liked what I got! The sesame seeds on the crust were a nice unique touch. The space is surprisingly big, open, bright, and clean with plenty of tables for eating in. It wasn't crowded, but the service was good and my pizza was prepared quickly!

The food and service here was AMAZING. I'm from the Bay Area and this was my first time in Chicago. It was a beautiful nice little restaurant with comfortable seating. They have 5 dollar slices with a delicious creamy type of pesto sauce maybe? I'm not sure but it was delicious. My first time trying Chicago style pizza was a 10/10. Staff was also very and kind. I'd love to come back soon just for this pizza

Catching up on Yelp reviews in 2024. I have been multiple times, but the last time I visited was on St. Patrick's Day weekend. Proper Pizza is a quick bit spot and a drunk food spot catering to college students near DePaul as it's open late until 2am on weekends. I haven't ordered a full pie and have only done slices. Crust: 7 Cheese: 8 Sauce: 4 Toppings: N/A Overall: 6.33 One thing that distinguishes Proper Pizza is the crust as is has sesame seeds on it. Definitely different. Cheese is the best part of the pie as it's very gooey and flavorful. Crust has decent flop. Sauce to cheese ratio is off as it needs more sauce. Proper Pizza has decent pizza and is a great bang for your buck. A giant slice and drink was like $7 so it's a solid deal. I think the pizza is mid at best, but that's ok. It's definitely tailored to the students of DePaul and late night drunk food, which is a solid business plan. Stop by Proper Pizza if you are looking for a late night slice!

You can get a giant slice of pizza and a drink at an affordable price. They're open late and have a few different pizza options. Very cheesy, thin crust, and delicious!

If you are in the mood for a unique pizza, go and try Proper Pizza. It is a thin crust pizza that looks undercooked but is the perfect texture. The bonus of the sesame seeds on the crust is a nice added touch. We've tried a few different pies since Proper Pizza opened in our neighborhood and highly recommend both the Truffle and Hawaiian styles. Both had bold tastes and a good helping of toppings. Finally do try their macho sauce with the pizza. It's a flavorful extra to add when eating the crust.

I've been hearing about this place a lot and finally got to check them out over the weekend! I got the Truffle Pizza, and I had to try the Nutella Pizza too so I grabbed that as well . I really liked the Truffle Pizza! You can really taste the truffles (and smell them as soon as you open the box) and the pine nuts and sesame seeds added a bonus to the texture. And you just can't go wrong with Nutella Pizza . They make it on a filo dough which is light and flaky and is a great touch. Some of the staff (maybe managers/owners? I didn't ask) were watching the Greece vs. Kosovo (this place originated in Kosovo) soccer game that was going on at the time, but they were super friendly and welcoming as soon as I stepped in. Very hospitable and it was a great experience! Definitely check them out when you can!

Great and unique pizza! Delicious and unique options for non-pork eaters. Our pizza had chicken meatballs on one half and beef sausage and beef prosciutto on the other half. We also loved the sesame seed crust. It was hard to pick a favorite! Please don't leave without the Nutella pizza. The crust was so flaky. The owner chatted with us and couldn't have been nicer. It was our first visit, but won't be our last!!

NEW SPOT ALERT from Europe to New Zealand, Greece to now CHICAGO . Couldn't have been happier to be a part of this grand opening of PROPER PIZZA CHICAGO, first one in the US since they were founded in 2002 Fun fact; the guy who handed the Nutella crispy pizza over was THE FOUNDER. Just casually making pizza Love love LOVED the flavors at this spot, the MACHO was definitely our favorite topped with chicken sausage, their signature proper cheese, herbs and their MACHO sauce made with yogurt, parsley, dill. Really flavorful and I couldn't help but eat almost half this pizza myself I never love crusts but WOW this crust is phenomenal. Topped with sesame seeds. I recommend getting their sauce on the side to dip We also had their Proper Pizza made with beef salami and beef prosciutto + mushrooms , Proper cheese. So good and fresh, not too heavy Cool part is... They have large party sizes for you and your family/friends - order on Clover and pick up in store. Don't forget their FLAKY Nutella crispy pizza. It's a different dough, topped with peanuts. So good @midwestmunching for more on Instagram

Speaking of the bar, I got myself a pint of the Golden Road Mango Cart, which did have a fragrance of mangoes. I was a bit annoyed the bartender asked for my ID thinking I was a high schooler (I guess white people in Chicago generally don't have any meaningful relationship with Asians compared to other major cities because this wasn't a one time thing - and I've been to a lot of cities), but at least he tried to smooth it out with a joke. Fine, moving on. I got myself a personal deep dish pizza, since this joint is known for their caramelized crust, although I did wish I got myself a small instead so I can have it delivered in the pan itself. Maybe next time, but I did eat the whole thing. The sauce was more on the bitter and acidic side. The toppings aren't layered and hiding underneath cheese like some other places, which is fine, but I did think it could've used more mushrooms and a more even distribution of toppings considering how thick the bread is. Overall it was worth going out of my way to try it once, as it was highly recommended to me, I'd say it takes #2 so far of all the pizza places I've tried in Chicago. Granted, I didn't have time or didn't come with anyone to share a bunch of things, but maybe next time.

They push the Mediterranean Bread, and honestly, you should let them. It's enormous, blistered, fragrant, and arrives like a hot air balloon made of carbs. More importantly, it gives you something genuinely delicious to tear into while you wait for the pizza pot pies to emerge from whatever subterranean chamber they're baked in. It's both a starter and a survival tool. A reservation is non‑negotiable unless you enjoy contemplating your own mortality in a weekend crowd. But let's be honest: no one is here for lettuce. We're all here for the pizza pot pie, that molten, bread‑wrapped, cheese‑laden dome of joy that defies every attempt at categorization.
