Ordered a 16" mushroom salami pizza for pick up on a rainy night. I rate pizza 50% on the crust. Sesame seeds on the crust edge was interesting. Their crust edge was decent, but under the topping the thin crust was a little gummy. The pizza toppings were decent and ample: cheese, mushrooms, salami, light on the tomato sauce. I was a little worried that the carry out box felt so light. The crust is thin and doesn't have much weight. However, the 16" fed me and my spouse with a slice leftover for lunch tomorrow. With so many pizza restaurants to choose from, it will take me a while to return. read more

This is properly the worst piece of pizza I have ever had. Not just in Chicago. In general. If you want to be a pizza place here you need to make amazing pizza. I can go to a million places with pizza. Hell, just four of them are within a ten minute walking distance of my house. So you want to be thin crust, that's cool. Go to New York and eat some thin crust pizza. There stuff is bomb. This is not it. This is Tombstones if it was dropped on the sidewalk and dragged through a puddle. This is Papa Johns microwaved and sprinkled with sesame seeds. Even the people that work there look embarrassed when they're serving you. Sorry, we know this sucks. And you paid $9 for a piece of cardboard with sauce. I don't normally write reviews, but I was so upset that this place even exists. I hope they up their game. read more

Super fresh ingredients and the crust is thin and delicious - rare even in Chicago for thin crust to be perfect, can only be done with the exact temperature and mixture of dough and water. They say the secret might be the chicago water. But this spot is new and it's already my favorite thin crust on the north side. I'll be back soon. read more

Their pizza is simply amazing. In my experience Proper Pizza serves some of the best pizza I've ever tasted. It used to be my favorite pizza spot in Albania and I'm glad they opened a location in Chicago. The crust is crispy, the sesame seeds give the crust a perfect taste, the toppings are always fresh and flavorful. The macho pizza is my absolute favorite. Opposite of a proper pizza. The only way they are making money is by means of overpricing their pizza; the ingredients are the cheapest ones they could find on the market. I'm talking canned mushrooms, grocery store frozen crust baked to soggy perfection, and lunch meat salami. It just straight-up tasted bad. But don't worry - they put sesame seeds on the crust which totally makes up for it (not). I was duped out of $40 and the only thing that would make this experience worth it is warning my fellow pizza lovers to steer clear of this place. Server was nice though. read more

This space has turned over quite a bit since I moved into the area 6 years ago. This is by FAR the best of the restaurants I have tried here. The pizza is deliciously thin but with yummy sesame seed crust. If you dine in they serve it with kalamata olives and dipping sauces for the crust. This is my 4th time here and they always satisfy my craving and are very quick. Hoping this place stays open! read more

In the city of pizza it is nice to try a new twist on pizza the sesame seed crust is really a nice surprise. I've tried several of the flavors and have never been disappointed it is always so hard to choose what to order because they are all so good! The atmosphere is relaxed, clean, comfortable and welcoming. This is a great place to go alone, with friends, family, lunch, dinner, late night, etc. I have been there with just my husband, my kids and a big group of varying ages they are always able to accommodate.
