Past & Co. has quickly become one of my favorite local spots. I absolutely love their fresh pasta, cheeses, and sauces, everything tastes high quality and thoughtfully made. They also offer frozen meals, which is such a great option for easy, elevated dinners at home. I haven't tried those yet, but it's definitely on my list for my next visit. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the staff. They're incredibly personable and knowledgeable, always helping me figure out portion sizes or giving recommendations. I usually end up staying longer than expected just chatting with them, and I always leave feeling good about supporting a local business. I brought my friends back and they were already sold out of some of the ravioli! While a bit pricey, it is homemade everything and a small and earnest business. I have enjoyed the offerings of Pasta & Co for years. Although I am an amateur pastaia, it's still a treat to buy delicious, fresh pastas and sauces from Pasta & Co. Popped in yesterday to get peppercorn linguini and roasted red bell pepper cream sauce: out-of-this-world delicious! I also bought a frozen entrée (Artichoke-Tomato Manicotti) to have for a future meal and delicious tiramisu for an indulgent dessert. I highly recommend Pasta & Co! read more

The food is outstanding! But imagine this: your at work and think let's get the best pasta ever for dinner tonight at pasta co. You look up there hours of operation on multiple platforms and see they are open until 7pm. You think oh yay I have just enough time to get off work ( I'm a doctor) and get in the car and pick up dinner for my family of 4. How great! I drive straight from work and arrive at 5:45pm not even 6 yet and they are closed. No sign, no explanation nothing. You guys need to change your hours of operation. I had the roasted crimini, chive, and mozzarella ravioli along with the pumpkin, spiced honey and amaretto ravioli in whole wheat pasta. This company makes a variety of fresh pasta and also offers a selection of frozen casseroles. I have particularly enjoyed their Shepherd's Pie, their frozen lasagna, and their manicotti. They have vegan and vegetarian options. But possibly the most amazing product are their lasagna sheets of pasta. Why would you ever use those store bought dried cardboard noodles again? I mean, why? After hearing good things about this place and never actually remembering to swing by I finally ran across their wares at the farmers market at Triangle park. And now I am hooked. Their fresh pasta makes everything but the best Italian restaurant seem like Kraft Mac and Cheese. If you want a quick and easy meal swing by their shop (or swing by after dining at Kerbey Lane for Brunch and pick up your dinner) get a pound of any of the special ravioli they have that day and a container of whatever sauce you desire or goes with the contents of your ravioli, and viola, a fantastic meal you can prepare in about 10 minutes. They also have regular fresh pastas that are fantastic, but their ravioli is amazing. Their sauces are very good, and they also have frozen more elaborate dishes that are worth keeping in your freezer when you want an easy dinner that is still good and good for you. Today I went to the Austin Farmer's Market to find some local vendors. I came across a pasta tent. I thought to myself ' hey this is a cool place to talk to some one about pasta and how its been going for them." But what i found was the complete opposite. I talked to the lady there. After she stopped talking with her friends. (I wasn't sure if I was at a place a business or her house.) I asked a couple of questions about her business seeing that she was one of the owners. And i told her that was thinking about opening a pasta trailer in Austin.After i told her that the only thing that she was focused on was how I was there to steal her recipes. Ok sorry lady I dont think that i would be interested in your pasta. (It just didn't look to appealing to me). All i wanted was to talk to shop with her. One chef to another. I know now that I can never do that with Pasta&Co. This is experience has taught me a lot about food vendors. Not all of them are as nice as they seem to be. I have talked to many other food vendors in Austin. All of which i have found VERY pleasant to talk to. I have enjoyed talking with them. Except Past&Co. I will never ever send anyone their way. I'll end with just this. I will be opening at the end of the summer. If ANY pasta makers want to come and talk to me about opening their own place or to just talk shop my door is always open to you. read more

Last year, the bf and I ate at this really good Italian cafe in Boston. This is where we discovered the goodness of butternut squash ravioli. I've been trying to find places that serve it here around town, but have either ended up being quite disappointed or ravioli-less. Since my fresh pasta making skills are limited, I wasn't too keen on recreating this dish at home. Luckily for me, Pasta & Co made my life a hell of a lot easier. I first discovered Pasta & Co while browsing through the stores at Kerbey Lane at the Jefferson Square shopping district. I walked in to an overwhelming menu of pasta products I could purchase there but I was puzzled by the freezers around me. I have tried their meatballs, squid-inked risotto, lasagna and cavatelli.... we like them all! These days you can find them at the Sunset Valley or Downtown farmer's market on Saturday. A friend brought us this after we had a baby. Perfect place for that kind of thing. You guys...The cheese cannelloni is one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. Absurd in its creaminess and deliciousness. I'm not being dramatic. The person who who made it is bold and unafraid. Make yourself a salad to go along with it to fill up on a tiny bit before you dig in or else you'll never be able to stop yourself from eating half the pan, which must have have enough fat and calories for a week. But please don't let this fact stop you from buying it. The pleasure is SO worth it!! Also David B doesn't know what he is talking about in his review. It's HOME MADE pasta. And it's not cheap. It is 100x fresher than anything in heb. And there is always parking behind the cleaners on Jefferson. Just park and walk, oh I don't know, fifty steps. It won't kill you. That's a couple extra bites of cannelloni you just earned! The salads and chocolate spice cake were also really good. But the cannelloni was on a whole other level. read more

I'm glad I went, but as other reviewers have mentioned, this is not exactly the basis of a cheap home-cooked meal. It's kind of funny that Pasta & Co. takes one of the cheapest meals and makes it CRAZY expensive. I understand that as a small local business, they need to make a profit, and that their materials are quality, but there's still quite a markup. However, I got out for under $10 - but I only bought 1.25 lbs of spaghetti (their cheapest pasta at about $4.00/lb), a small container of cheese ($2.65) and a head of roasted garlic ($1.25). The garlic was unfortunately not as roasted as it should have been. The pasta (ostensibly Szechuan peppercorn, but it tasted pretty plain to me) was good, but not that special...The cheese was cheese. I was thinking about getting a sauce, but those seemed outrageously expensive, and I can make my own, anyway. The woman who was working was very friendly and explained all of the options well. However, it seemed like she was kind of guessing when it came time to ring up my order. It's nice to be able to get fresh pasta, but this is not something I think most people could afford all the time. read more

Whenever I have a special dinner (which sometimes I just invent occasions to have a special dinner), I run to Pasta and Co to pick up some fresh pasta. Yeah, I've made it myself, but it never turns out as good as theirs does and really, when you are making the most simple summer pasta, good quality is a must! My most recent visit I bought fresh linguine and frozen goat cheese stuffed shells. The fresh pasta is priced very reasonably - I always come back for more. The frozen meals are definitely more pricey but when I think about what I would pay for comparable quality at a restaurant, it is totally worth it. And I don't have to chop anything to get a gourmet dinner. The people that work there are friendly and helpful! I've called in a couple of special orders of paper thin lasagna noodles and they always rise to the task. Which reminds me, I need to make that lasagna again.... read more

Once you discover the difference that fresh pasta makes, you can't and won't go back. For some reason, the idea of having fresh pasta evokes some kind of special occasion or that it takes more effort than the regular dried pasta. I am happy to burst your bubble and tell you that not only is fresh pasta cheap(like 4-5 bucks for a pound), it's faster to cook too. No really, it takes about 30 sec after the water is boiling. If you use an electric tea kettle, it's even faster! Pasta & Co is great! They have, to my knowledge, the largest selection of fresh pasta in town. Mandola's also sells fresh pasta, but they don't have much of a selection (just a couple ex: spaghetti or tagliatelle). The Pasta & Co however has several on hand (plain or flavored), plus ravioli, sauces, pestos, pre-made dinners that you can just stick in the oven, and the hard to find San Pelligrino Chinoto and San Bitter. Word to the wise, if you've never had it and want to try it, brace yourself for a very bitter and disgusting taste. So go already! Impress your dinner party, your bf, your gf, or if you're like me, treat yourself right and buy a pound. Go home, boil some water with sea salt, stick your new favorite pasta in, drain, throw on a tbsp. of buffalo butter and freshly grate some Australian pecorino on top, and voila. Hello Pasta & Co. Nice to see you again. After returning to this place several times, I can sum up the experience in one word: underwhelming. The concept of this place is great, however, no matter how many times I come here, I am always left unsatisfied. The sauces don't really match the pasta, it's over priced for eggs, flour and water... For example, I tried the butternut squash ravioli, their main raved about item, and the ravioli is good. However, there is no sauce for this ravioli. Your choices are pesto, alfredo, vodka, bolognese and marinara. Oh yeah and the pea sauce. None of these go with butternut squash. And no pasta they have goes with vodka sauce, you need like a penne or rigatoni in order for it to stick to the pasta and be good. And yes, I always ask the guy working the register for recommendations, and every single time I have been here (which is about five or six) he replies "pesto, or alfredo," no matter what I'm eating. I'm sorry dude, but pesto does not go with everything. And neither does alfredo. I might return here strictly for the pasta, but I'm completely over the sauces. I guess that's why it's not called "Pasta, Sauces & Co." read more

I'm boggled that some reviewers have found this place pricey - I think it's pretty reasonable for handmade pasta - have you tried making pasta? I have, and it's a bitch. I am happy to fork over my money for a delightful bag of pasta and a container of sauce so that we can eat a tasty dinner at home that takes almost no time at all. And everything we've had has been great - cheese ravioli with bolognese sauce, stuffed shells (one of the frozen items), mushroom ravioli with the world's lightest alfredo... I am always happy with the food. The quality is much better than the cheap Italian restaurants or chains in town, and the price is much cheaper than the fine Italian restaurants in town. So it's a win-win - quick, reasonably priced quality food. I'll be back... probably a lot! read more

Go Local: yes Everyone knows that Kerbey Lane is on Kerbey Lane. But next door is Pasta and Co. If you blink, you might miss it and forever deprive your taste buds of something delicious. I am a personal sucker for odd foods. And I love pasta--with a family raised down the block from a pool and two brothers who dedicated a significant portion of their lives to competitive swimming, pasta was a staple in my home for many, many years. It was the first food I learned how to prepare myself. So I was pleasantly surprised when I learned at the downtown farmers market (as I gazed longingly at the per-pound priced pastas I could not afford) that they had a storefront. At least one of the employees knows me by name now. They also know what I like and don't like and are always willing to tell me how best to prepare each new specialty (eg: butternut squash ravioli= pasta+ a little maple syrup or honey or lime basil penne= pasta+ lime juice+ olive oil +fresh parmesan+ black pepper). I've had Mexican, Irish, and southern Italian themed ravioli here, as well as fresh made herbed rigatoni, linguini, and spaghetti. The people here will also not fault you for wanting to try a piece of raw anything (yes, it's perfectly safe). You can ask by weight or by piece or color combination. I've tried all three and never been disappointed. read more

It was a real treat to step inside this shop - they had endless yummy pastas and dishes and sauces on display. It was hard to choose what to take home with me! I chose the daily special ravioli, the sausage habanero, for my husband to try. I also picked up some fresh spaghetti noodles. I chose the Bolognese and marinara sauces, and an arugula pesto. My husband loved the raviolis - he tried them with the Bolognese sauce, (as recommended by the owner). We also loved the spaghetti noodles with the marinara sauce, divine! The arugula pesto was good, but just not quite my thing - although I'm glad I picked it up to try. I really like this place - the owner was personable and gave great recommendations, and they have tons of stuff to keep coming back for. Their location is a little south for me to frequent, but I really do hope to be back to try more of their pasta and sauces, as well as some of their frozen entrees that were ready to go. Found this place driving down a little street after visiting Anderson's Coffee & Tea shop and decided to see what it was all about. They sell a variety of entirely hand-made frozen pasta meals (ready to bake), cheeses, and of course, fresh pasta and sauces to cook a meal with. It was a quaint little place and the staffer at the time was very friendly and helpful in helping me choose what flavor of pasta to buy. I ordered two kinds of ravioli and some Argentine Parmesan ($28 for ~2 lb. of pasta and 8 oz. of cheese) to go with salmon steaks I had at home, and served the raviolis with stewed tomatoes and a simple salad made out of tomato and mozzarella slices. The ravioli and parmesan was very fresh and tasted great with the salmon. The flavor of the ravioli was unique and satisfying. I could definitely tell the difference between this and run-of-the-mill pastas. I think I've only hit the tip of the iceberg here. There are many things I've yet to try and so little time, as I'm only on a visit here in Austin for another week. Would definitely come back again to try more of their menu. read more

Also, close to where I work is Pasta & Co. I went in tonight for the first time and was excited to find one stop shopping for dinner! I purchased the Chicken Manicotti, some bread with garlic butter, and a salad. The grand total was $25 and some change..didn't think that was totally outrageous as we would spend that amount in a restaurant. Good news is that my $25 stretched into lunch the next day as well! One container really does serve 4! There was TONS of chicken in the manicotti. It had a light, sweet flavor to it that was delectable. Salad..good, bread and butter..yummy! Added my own white wine and BAM!! Dinner! The only drawback was that it does take 1 hour and 15 minutes to cook most things in the store. Still ate around 7-ish. Any day I get to eat Pasta & Co is pretty much the best day ever. I'm a pretty staunch carnivore, and even I can get behind their butternut squash ravioli & delicious italian salad. That being said, meat-inclusive dishes are just as mouth-watering! I've had Sheryl's creations many times now and I can confidently say I have never once been disappointed. If you're picking up bulk pasta to feed a group, get extra. Lost again in what I wanted to eat for dinner, I turned to Yelp. Under the search box the phrase "cheap dinner" was listed as an example. I thought "what the hell," and went for it. The first result was Pasta and Co. Very near my house, a five star rating, and something decently healthy I could cook. Perfect.... not quite. This small location had an ample selection of pasta, sauces, raviolis, and frozen lasagnas to choose from. After speaking with the friendly staffer for a few minutes, I made my ravioli selection: Lemon Pecorino Rustica & Arugula Black Pepper Pasta. I selected a Piselli cream sauce to go with. Sauce and a single person serving of Ravioli came out to about 9 bucks. Not super expensive, but a bit surprising considering it was a "cheap dinner" that I was cooking myself. Raviolis are 10.50/lbs and perusing their menu it doesn't seem like there are too many cheap eats to be had. I think "moderate" might be a more accurate price description. Moving on to the food itself... To put it bluntly, I found it all to be quite bland. I tasted the "lemon" in only a single bite of the pasta. It was certainly fresh. But just flavorless. The sauce didn't compliment the ravioli well, but I'm not sure it would have complimented anything very well. To make things worse, the cream sauce managed to drown out the cheese in the ravioli. It's very possible there are good things to eat here, but my selection was anything but. I'll give them an extra star for the friendly staff and the possibility that I just made a poor selection (could happen anywhere). It might be awhile though before I try this place again. read more
