Freshly cooked lunches and dinners. Service is super friendly and most of them only speak Spanish. The produce section is good and their bakery is stacked with hot breads. We love this spot and is our go to when we crave good Mexican food.

Okay, where do i start. You step into that place and the first thing you will notice is the punch of delicious smell of food. We are customers on a regular basis (pretty much every week) and we have never been disappointed. The service is really good, very friendly and customer oriented employees. But their food is on a high level. Mexican comfort food, so good you have to try to believe it! A few things i would like to highlight: Their Mole! A nice balance of heat and flavor, a nice little hint of cinnamon, paired with a smooth texture of the sauce! Yummy! The Picadillo! Just perfectly seasoned and the right meat to veggie ratio! Delicious! Their Frijoles de la olla! Give me a big container of that stuff, some tortillas and i don't need anything more to male my tummy and my taste buds happy! Maybe a second spoon, so i can shuffle it in my mouth like a harvester!! The house made salsas, both the red and the green, need to be mentioned, very good flavor and not too spicy, so people who are not into hot food can experience the good flavor. Yup, they got me addicted for sure! Sorry for the bad pictures.

Dare you eat the legendary two-foot long chicharron delgado?

Super-V is a hidden gem of a place. This carniceria is a good supplement to the standard HEB/Randall's in that you can find many Hispanic specialties, particularly in the meat section. At first glance it looks busy and a little cramped, but it's well-ordered and very clean. Do NOT miss the little attached grill/cafe! I was a little disappointed that they weren't making the burger combo when I arrived, but that was a blessing in disguise. Instead I got the 3-taco combo, with portions of barbacoa, carnitas, and chicken adobo, on corn tortillas and it was superb! I followed that up with a mouth-watering plate of the 'pupusa', a flatbread filled with shredded chicken and served with a kind of cole slaw. Finally, I got to try a couple of the flan-type cakes sold in the bakery section. The flan's excellent, as is a combo flan+devil's food cake. Oh, and if your arteries can handle it...there are *three* different kinds of chicharron! Throw out the stuff you find in the plastic bags from the 'snack' section of the grocery store. You need the real deal with hunks of pork clinging to the fried surface. There's regular bite-size chicharrons, an extra-meaty ten-inch version called chicharron en carnitas, and the forbidding chicharron delgado, which are at least two feet long! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Tres leches cake. Only 2.49 for each big slice.

Update: this place is better every time I go. Service and hospitality is top notch. The store is clean and well stocked. The prices are still incredible on meat. This is the only place we buy meat now. I tried the tres leches cake in vanilla and chocolate, and both are incredible. You can get a quarter sheet size topped with glazed fruit, very lovely, for less than $24. You can get slices for $2.49. Just try it. Trust me! Now the best part...the burgers. They have a black angus burger on a sweet Hawaiian style bun that is probably the best burger north of Austin. You don't need ketchup or mustard. Soft bun, grilled on the inside. Melted, gooey cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and a nice sized burger that is cooked perfectly. Add a side of perfectly cooked steak cut fries, and you'll be very happy. If you don't go there and try the burger at least once...well you're missing out! (And more for me!)

Beef and bean soup and half a burrito!

We decided on jerk marinated chicken and a steak. In addition I found the much coveted Dubai chocolate bar and had to give it a try. YUM! The jerk chicken was definitely spicy but perfectly balanced with flavor. The steak was of great quality. Definitely a must come back spot! Oh, and the service was wonderful. There are chips and salsa available as well. The tortillas are not of the home made variety. The prices are fair for the area and they do have Pepsi fountain drinks. I am partial to the beef for fajitas. Many of the Mexican wares and candies are available. They also have a variety of aguas frescas and churros. Then I worked my way to the cafe/kitchen. I ordered 2 beef tacos. My Spanish is very limited. The sweet woman helping me spoke zero English. There were a lot of outside workers enjoying their lunch. I ended up with 2 papusas. Not sure of the meat filling- looked like chicken. (LOL), then a gentleman spoke to me and this time I got 2 beef fajita tacos on nice fresh corn tortillas. I kept the papusas too. They offered refrigerated cases of soda pop including Jaritos and juices, they also had large containers of several flavors of Agua Fresca of which I ordered a Grande Mango flavor. You could get your beverage with milk added as well. Probably seating for 25. No menu-once I moved up in line I could not only smell but I could see the steam tables which faced the staff and were loaded with food. There were a handful of things I didn't recognize. What I did recognize was beef fajitas, beef lingua, tripe, caldo de res, refried beans, Mexican rice, fresh tortillas. I sat down and opened the 2 beef tacos and ate one. It was really good and I was full so took the rest home. They sure don't skimp on the beef!!!! There were lots of diners coming and going. Most of them were getting combination plates. I'm going to have to figure that out next time. I had asked for a side of frijoles, but I was likely confused because I think the beans and rice only came with combination plates. Anyway, I enjoyed my taco and I'll definitely go back after I polish up my Spanish a bit !!!!
