A neighbor of mine has used Hunter's Creek for years. He recently told me about a program they have where you can get processed deer meat from donated hunters. I rarely get to go hunting so I got on the list. Usual wait time is 4-6 weeks for a call. Two weeks later...... I got the call. Lots of meat from that donation. Very reasonably priced. Well I'll never come here again and I'd advise any other hunters not to as well. I dropped two deer off here a month ago and they called me saying they were ready so I drove up to pick them up. Upon arrival I say my name and they they pulled a box out full of meat. I didn't have a ticket as I don't walk around with a ticket in my pocket for deer pickup everyday and I was not at home when they called. I was so confused when the box came out. It looked super light and I thought there is no way there's two deer in this box. So I said I had two deer and asked what the weight came in at. They didn't know so I asked them to weigh it. The weight came in extremely low. I asked why it was so low and the kid just kind of shrugged ‍. So i take my box home and put it in the freezer. Yesterday, I get a phone call saying I have a deer ready for pickup and at first I was confused but then I figured well ok they screwed my order up and left the other deer that makes sense. I come to pick the other deer up (1.5) hours round trip and ask to speak to the owner. I wait for him for 15 minutes to show up. He becomes kinda agitated immediately to the point I have to say something. So I say, "I'm not sure why you're getting an attitude I'm just trying to express a complaint on how your system doesn't work or your communication is lacking within your business." He calms down, but continues to place the blame on me. I try to break it down to the ridiculous and say if I come in with two deer and I'm confused so much with what I've gotten that I have to have you weigh it how is that ok with you as a business owner? I ask him all I want to know is what you think is fair. He says "well I think we should charge you." Keep in mind I don't want anything specifically I just asked for what is fair. I would have taken anything, including an apology along with a promise to change the way they do business so that more hunters aren't affected. I mentioned this is the first time this has happened to me anywhere else. I usually bring deer in and get the same deer back and he starts bad mouthing other processors saying they're cheating me or short selling me. So in short I wouldn't come here. They're way too busy, they don't care about you, all they care about is the way they do things and they won't be budging from it. - also I brought these deer in caped and dressed. Even cut out the back strap and loins and it's still the same price if you bring it in just like you found it laying where you shot it. read more

The customer service is FANTASTIC. They only have regular business hours during whitetail season, but call them, and they will come process your exotic any day of the year! I killed a deer a few days before Thanksgiving, and I wanted to serve it to my kids and grandkids instead of Turkey. They were really busy so I was worried about the timing, but they promised me they'd stay open on Thanksgiving and I WOULD be serving venison to my family. They made it happen! Cole gave me a gutting lesson which was awesome! Now I can do it myself. Thank you, Cole! I love that they don't add a bunch of pork to the ground deer meat, just a minute amount of beef fat. So your ground is still YOUR deer, not something else. And it's very lean and healthy. The only thing I think could be better is to hang and bleed a little longer. But I still wouldn't take my deer anywhere else. Take your wild game to HCP. You will get YOUR animal and yours alone. You will get exactly the cuts that you want - they are very flexible and won't sell you something you don't want. And it will taste great! read more

Very disappointed with Cole Stevens. Great guy and have used him for several years. There are lots of pros but the cons out weigh and will not return. 1) The freezer wrap is done poorly. Never seals and meat has ice on it before I even picked up the order. 2) Seasonings are ok but not great. 3) I requested 28 lbs of smoked sausage with mild cheese and they produced 28 lbs of summer sausage. Really like these guys but customer service and attention to detail is no longer up to par. read more

This is by far my first choice when getting our deer processed. This is the only place I've found where their ground venison has no grissle. I use it for everything! We have also had the fajita meat, jalapeno and cheese sausage, breakfast sausage, summer sausage jerky, and the chipotle pepperjack sausage. All of which were excellent. THE BEST SUMMER SAUSAGE EVER! Cole came to our SCI Austin banquet and had samples, this led me to try him for one of my deer... I hunted North Texas and brought him a blackbuck and a whitetail. After speaking with Cole, I was impressed with the fact that they process each deer individually, realized that at my old processor, they were combining my ground with other ground and then making sausage and portioning it out (which I confirmed with my processor) I didn't like that thought at all. I don't know how well others take care of their meat. The fact that I get my own meat back is important to me. The link sausage - AMAZING Summer Sausage - AMAZING Tamales were good, although I personally prefer shredded meat to ground in tamales, but everyone liked them. Bottom line - I have been converted. I live in DRIPPING SPRINGS and drive all the way to Liberty Hill to process now. The quality is totally worth it! read more

We've gone to many processors in the past but none beat Hunters Creek processing and service. Their flavorful recipes for the large selection of choices from various flavors of sausages, tamales, Jerky. We've had many friends try them and they now process there. Hunters Creek Processing In Liberty Hill Texas is a Dishonest company. Sure is funny that they don't have any bad reviews on their website and Facebook, I wrote a review on their website and they deleted it. They tell you that you get your own deer meat back, but that's not true, The owner himself told me that they do mix meat for people who order short orders of sausage and other items that they sell. I even had a person that personally knows the owner told me DO NOT TAKE your deer to Hunters Creek Processing they mix every ones deer meat together and average it out per person. I have even seen it myself while walking through the back. I go through great care to make sure my meat is taken care of while skinning of deer and storage before getting to a processor, I have seen too many people that don't care for their meat in the field and their response is that the processor will clean it up, Well that's not the true in a lot of cases. I took them my first spring turkey this past season. I am very impressed with this place they where fairly quick on getting me my mount back and the price wasn't all that bad. When my husband decided no way he was going to process his own deer (after doing two) we looked for a local place to take it to. We chose Hunters Creek because we're Aggies and stay loyal to fellow Aggies if they have good service, I also loved that they have pricing on the website so you know what to expect. As long as this team is providing the service they have for the past year we won't be going anywhere else. Several of our family members are shocked at the pricing which they said is extremely competitive if not inexpensive.The turn around is extremely fast, I am shocked at how fast they turn things around in busy white tail season and they're always super friendly even though you know they must be exhausted. So far have only tried the jalapeno cheese sausage and the bacon burger patties but we have been very impressed with the regular ground and cuts as well. If you are looking for deer processing this season you need to try Hunters Creek. First their customer service is second to none. Cole and his team are very friendly and great to work with. I had 3 deer and a hog processed last year. The regular and Jalapeño cheese sausage were some of the best I've had, no need to drive a couple hours away. I just picked up my first deer today and needed it because we were completely out! The second thing is that you will get your deer not a combination of whatever came in that day. I was fortunate enough to move to my new property only a couple of miles from Hunter's Creek this fall. This has allowed me to get the deer to Hunters Creek very shortly after gutting them. Lance made the first visit very easy with great recommendations. They have processed 5 deer for us this season already. I have to say I have been extremely pleased! The service, packaging and product have exceeded my expectations! The spicy breakfast sausage is outstanding! Highly recommend Hunters Creek! My only complaint is that the season is almost over and it will be months before I go in again. Nice to have a place that makes you feel appreciated every time you walk in the door. This is my first year hunting. I will admit I don't have a lot to compare, but I did my research on processors and I know quality service when I see it. First, these guys were insanely helpful. I stopped by before I shot my first deer (my first anything actually) and I asked a ton of questions. They were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and had amazing patience answering what were probably a lot of dumb questions from a first timer. I took up hunting on my own, no one to help me or teach me (besides Google and Youtube), but these guys were an incredible resource to get started. Once I got my first deer, I had a lot more questions, and again they were very helpful and insightful. When I got my first venison back, I couldn't be happier. Everything packaged right, I got my own meat and only my own meat back, and their sausage is amazing. I have since taken three more deer, taken them all to Hunters Creek, and I've tried most of their products. Everything is awesome. The breakfast sausage is by far my favorite, but all their sausage is fantastic. These guys are great. With each pick-up and drop-off I have tons more questions, and every time they are patient, explain things in detail, and really show a lot of care for what they do. True Southern gentlemen, with attention to detail, and pride in their product. I'm hoping to expand my range and talents at hunting, and I'll be coming back to Hunter's Creek for all my processing. read more
