Bought a baguette which will make the best snack later. True Lucks goat cheese, got their maple and chipotle. Lightsey Farms, bought their gorgeous, huge peaches. The baguette sliced, lightly toasted, with the maple chipotle goat cheese, and to top it off, thin slices of peaches. If you like sweet and spicy combination, this is the perfect snack. Enjoyed my quick 15 minutes of buying my goodies for the week. I have to rush into work, otherwise I would stay longer. I love that they have a compost station. I dropped off 3 bags of food scraps. Egg shells, avocado peels, pineapple and watermelon skins, and much more. It was a lot for 2 weeks worth. See you in 2 weeks again.

I saw a woman selling Shea Butter from Africa she was very kind. Next to her was a very kind and handsome gentleman selling pure honey and fresh eggs which I purchased some honey from him and some Shea butter from the kind woman beside him as I made my way down I saw a young girl with her mother selling homemade dog treats she told me she was from California also so of course I had to bring some dogs treats back to Cali for my dogs to try than beside her was tiny little toys digitally printed out I think the man was on his phone with someone and I didnt want to bother him but next to him I did love the Christmas reefs and bird houses super CUTEEEEE overall I really e joked this place Come one come all and bring your pets for sure. The old phrase "take your shoes off and stay a while" has never been more appropriate for the atmosphere of these gatherings. Lampasas County Farmer's Market & Crafts located in Lampasas, a quaint little area with shops centered around what appears to be a government facility. It's relatively easy to find and in a safe section of town. I haven't been to a farmers market in years and now thanks to this event my passion has been rekindled and I want to frequent more of them. Pulling the focus back to Lampasas Farmers Market, after parking I got out my car and immediately my nostrils were hit with a hit of BBQ, courtesy of "End of the Trails BBQ." Since my cravings needed to immediately be satisfied my girlfriend and I made a beeline to the food truck. Fair warning, I don't indulge in big breakfasts but lord have mercy what I got among their assortment of items was outstanding. The brisket, egg and cheese breakfast burrito brought a tear to my eye. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the smoke from the meat filled the whole burrito while the meat was succulent and the cheese brought it all together in a warm and soft tortilla. Next time I go, I'm ordering a "truck load" pardon the pun. Just to note they have all kinds of meats and other filling food offerings so I highly advise making this a priority. Walking around in a dog friendly atmosphere there are tons of shops to check out. Homemade necklaces, 3D printed items like dragons, video game characters and what not, you name it. I believe there's something for everyone here. I saw some professionally made and multiwood cutting boards which I seriously considered for some time. Alas, ole "Betsy" my current cutting board is still going strong so I can't replace her while she's still in her prime. Another temptation I pondered was some fresh produce including huge purple potatoes. Being a former chef, I thought it would look outstanding in a scalloped potato dish. Alas I rebuked my desires even though all the crops available looked outstanding and I'm guessing GMO free! Something we all should consider in this day where all of our food is being negatively manipulated to our bodies demise. Turning the corner I ordered a fresh batch of mini-donuts. I asked the sweet lady what she recommended and she said the cinnamon sugar donuts. They were warm, fluffy and the perfect kick of sugar and spice. I debated this because it's been ages since I had an elephant ear (funnel cake) and it would have been perfect. Alas my choice was equally good. I highly recommend getting these little devils as the bite sized morsels will make you feel like an angel. The next stand I got some pepper jelly, jalapeno & strawberry jam and apple butter. I haven't tried them yet but they look outstanding and I'm supporting these hard-working families in the meantime. My final purchase came from a German pasta stand. Doing my best to converse in German I quickly opted for English as to limit my embarrassment, I found it curious they didn't sell spätzle which is a German potato pasta. That said I got some home-made egg noodles which I'm dying to try. The prices were extremely fair and I can't wait to sample the product. They have a lot of pasta options as well as fragrant breads so if you're in the mood, drop on by. Overall I loved the small-town vibe and offerings from Lampasas County Farmer's Market & Crafts. The place is safe and easy to find. The sellers and patrons are good people and the whole time I felt I was among family. If you're looking for great food, farm to table produce, fun crafts or anything in between I invite you to spend a few hours wondering about. You'll support local families and might make a few memories in the process.

I met a friend at the Round Rock Farmer's Market on Saturday. The farmer's market is located in the…read moreparking lot behind Velvet Taco. We tooled around the market before having lunch. This relatively small farmer's market allows for a leisurely stroll by the vendors. Round Rock Farmer's market features jewelry, clothing, and of course, fruits and vegetables. We sampled one dessert and meat. One vendor was giving away cute little cloth hearts with thoughtful inscriptions...super kind and generous. The Austin Wildflower Honey vendor was super knowledgeable about local honey production and the benefits of honey. I ended up buying some of the honey. Since it was July 4th, the amount of foot traffic was lite. It allowed us concentrated time with the vendors to ask questions and experience their wares.

Speaking of eggs, ample egg vendors. Found 3 at different price points ($6, $7, $9). Unfortunately, the $6 eggs were some of the worst I've ever purchased at a farmer's market (flavorless, barely yellow yolk). Other than that, they had bread, some produce, beef jerky, sweet treats, and some other miscellaneous vendors. Oh and Tong's Dumpling Bar is a star attraction. It's in a large strip mall so parking is easy. That mall also features one of my personal favorites -- JuiceLand -- so it's an excuse to grab a smoothie!
