I placed a to-go order and it was ready in a timely manner. I ordered the Tuna Avocado Roll, Shrimp Tempura, and California roll. They had a great three roll special that came with a soup or salad. I chose the miso soup. I was also craving scallops so I purchased the lightly seared scallops. They came with a dipping sauce that was spicy and slightly sweet but really good. They had their whole sushi chef staff on-hand, which looked impressive. My friends and I ordered Thai iced tea to start. Just placed my order.. thought I was going to be able to pick it up in a decent time. Turns out it is not ready for pick up for 2 hours. Now I am trying to cancel the order and nobody will answer the phone. This is my first time "trying" this restaurant. Disappointed & hoping for a refund or that someone will answer the phone eventually. Tried emailing and someone answered my email. They said "Thank you.. sorry about that." Thought everything was figured out. However, I received a voicemail at 8:05pm (2 hours later) saying my order was ready. I did not answer that phone call (as I was finishing dinner from elsewhere) and was unable to call back because the number on their site still won't ring. I sent another emailing repeating that I cancelled the order & they can see that from the chain of emails back and forth. I will continue to wait for a response and a refund! :-) TBD. read more

First time at this restaurant because we wanted sushi. We sat outside, next to the rocks and water decor under the shady tent. Loved the ambiance! The server apparently forgot about us and brought out complimentary soup and salad with an apology..... but really, I think we were taking a while to make our choices so it wasn't a big deal at all. This place is amazing! Every last detail; great quality sushi, entrees and apps are all wonderful. In addition to the food we always come here with our kids, now two of them in tow. They are so accommodating and always talk to our kids and treat them so well. I can't believe how high the other yelpers gave this restaurant. First and most importantly, they don't use the right rice for their sushi. The rice highlights the fish. Look it up, Japanese rice is a necessity. With that said, it really doesn't matter what I ordered. The type of rice was wrong and it was dry. We've been here many times and while it isn't the best sushi in the world I think it's pretty good quality for the area. We never have to wait a long time for our food to come, our drinks are always full, and the service is always pretty good. Sometimes the rolls aren't wrapped as tightly as they should be, leading to them falling apart when picking up with chop sticks. We do like the different variety that there is to choose from and if you come with someone who doesn't eat/like sushi, there are plenty of other items to try. My favorite roll is the philly roll. I will often use this as the baseline when going to other sushi locations. The one here is probably in the top 5 of ones I've had. Good ratio of filling to fish. read more

I bookmarked this spot for over a year and I finally tried it tonight! We arrived around 8:00PM and the place was packed! We had a party of 5 and had about a 15-20 minute wait. If you will be dining during peak hours with a big group, I'd definitely recommend reservations because this place is kind of small. The ambiance was lively and they played soft reggae all night. The music was loud and it was somewhat difficult to have conversations and the vibe felt more like a lounge. Probably not the best place if you're looking to have an intimate meal. The service was TOP NOTCH. Wow, they were all extremely friendly, kind and accommodating! We had two small children with us and they went above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable and even brought out fruits, on the house, for the little ones to nibble on after their dinner. OMG, everything I had here was amazing! We started with the yellowtail Serrano, rainbow sashimi and sashimi appetizer. All of them were really good. We also ordered their special, the toro belly which we were told was just flown in a few hours upon our arrival. IT WAS AMAZING, BUTTERY AND MELT IN YOUR MOUTH GOOD. I'm not much of a sushi person, but my wife is. So we came here for her birthday and it was great. We got a boat and a selection of 4 different kinds of sushi. While, I'm not an expert on sushi, I have tried many places all over and I would say this is one of my favorites at least in the DMV area. Our waiter was attentive and made good recommendations.
