Each of them has their uniqueness and all have multiple dimensions of flavors. Pretty interesting choice of ingredients and spices too. If you can't take spicy food or have a preference, just ask the server for recommendations. Most of the dishes i tried are spicy or have hot spice. My favorite dish of all is the roasted beet salad. Sauce is spicy but i love the texture so much with sesame seed added to it. This dish was served first as appetizer and somehow wakes up the taste buds. We picked Cacao for dessert to end the meal. A continuous stimulate to taste buds i would say and it doesn't disappoint. I love all the dishes i tried! Plating is pretty. (Almost too pretty to eat). Friendly and attentive service thru out meal. Food: Lamb Barbacoa was absolutely amazing. Chef's kiss. Braised perfectly, meat falling right off the bone. If you enjoy a proper gamey taste, this is the choice for you. Extra tortilla (recommend corn over flour) is provided upon request. Tuna Ceviche was surprisingly filling and very good. Very generous with the avocado. Drink: Xaman Old-Fashioned is honestly one of the best old-fashioneds I've had in a while. Very nicely smoked and evenly mixed. Service: Selina was so, so nice and provided outstanding service. The food and drink alone were amazing, but the professionalism and quality service really made us want to come back the same day. Only reason we didn't was we were so stuffed. Seating: Bar seating is better mid-day to get seated faster (if you're a party of 2), but if you have a bigger party, recommend reserving a table ahead. Vibe: Artwork feels modern and culturally well-balanced. The bar itself (and the restaurant as a whole) feels very inviting. (DISGUSTING) The food is excellent, presentation of the food is nice (chef is very talented), and we had a wonderful time with family. That was what made the evening special. Food and family. However, our server was not very good. He wasn't attentive, and he missed a few items that we were charged for. It also seems like they didn't have custodial staff (if that's the case, front of the house was lazy) as the washrooms were a NIGHTMARE. There was vomit everywhere, my husband informed the staff, and the vomit was still there when we left! THEY WERE INFORMED & they didn't clean it when we left about an hour after were alerted about the situation. Check the cameras. What the heck are these people doing? NOT THEIR JOB, Clearly. I can't wait until the restaurant at the grand Californian reopens. I'd go to Napa rose instead. Paseo was our back up, and they missed the mark. Management: service was lacking... big time. He was probably new, or having an off day. That said, still unacceptable. One of my favorite restaurants -- but my recent visit left me disappointed. The food is usually delicious and their cocktails are always on point, which is why I keep coming back. However, the guacamole was honestly unacceptable this time. It tasted pre-batched, watered down, and the presentation looked awful. If I didn't know any better, I would think they were using something like Sabra. And for $18, it's definitely not worth it. Skip it or ask for a refund. I'll attach photos so you can see what I mean. Our server was okay, but the service felt slow and rushed at the same time. I waited about 30 minutes for our food, and overall the hospitality just wasn't where it should be. Yikes, this place is amazing! Our large party sat upstairs near the floor to ceiling windows overlooking a section of Downtown Disney. Service was impeccable. Our variety of entrees are pictured here. We started with the Guacamole with Crispy pork belly. It's a unique texture combination of avocado and crispy pork belly. All entrees had exquisite presentation, a true feast for the eyes to undertake. Spend a few moments to admire the presentation. I had the Short Ribs. Two inches thick atop a bed of savory potatoes. I could (and did) separate the short rib with a fork. Such flavor. I also had the Caesar salad which had full lettuce leaves you cut to your preferred size. Although I enjoyed the dressing, it was a bit overpowering to my taste. If you like the richness, this one's for you. Of the several desserts we ordered, my favorite was the cheesecake. It is perhaps the lightest cheesecake I've ever tasted that almost melts the mouth. Reservations are highly recommended during dinner hours. read more

We arrived at 5:30 and it wasn't very busy. We left after 6:30 and it was packed. Baja Oysters were on the small side but fresh and it tasted like a lemony vinaigrette sauce with onions. It was actually a Rosemary & tangerine aguachili with pickled shallots. There were bits of shell in two of the oysters. The passion fruit & horchata were good. The coffee was nice and strong. The flavor of the pork shank was good. I'm not sure what Guerrero- style pork shank is. It was cooked wonderfully and placed on puréed beans with sliced radishes and it came with corn tortillas. The side of equites which is corn was not a favorite. The flavor, texture and taste wasn't special. Presentation looks good but the flavor should have been better. The Caesar salad came in a nice pile. We cut it so we could share it better. It was very good for a Caesar salad. It seemed like a pile of stuff on rice pudding. The cinnamon stick was edible and not a cinnamon stick. It's probably just me but reading braised short ribs, oven-roasted tomato, charred avocado, pinot beans, blend guajillo & ancho chiles, flour tortillas didn't sound appetizing. I'm not familiar with Pinot beans and what the flavor of guajilo & ancho chiles or charred avocados would taste like. It took awhile to decide what to order. This newish restaurant was nice. If you know how to make a mean dry brined steak at home, then don't bother getting their $95 ribeye. Flavorless and tough in texture even though they cooked the meat medium. They didn't even try to season the steak either. No salt or pepper, just the salt that was put to the side of the cutting board. Sour guac that was also not worth $18 and disappointing queso fundido. Came for a birthday and the hostess said she'd give us a birthday dessert but never received it. read more

We were seated outside on the balcony and it was the perfect day to be outside overlooking Downtown Disney. We started with some mock tails. I had a margarita and my lady had something spicy (she likes those spicy dranks). The margarita was FIRE! Tasted just like tequila, I was genuinely confused on if it was or not. We continued to order the Guacamole; which was FRESH and delicious. I ordered the Chilaquiles with a side of puréed Black Beans and my fiancé ordered the Caesar Salad with Shrimp. Allll wwas delicious, you could taste the time, love and craftsmanship put into each meal item ordered. This was an 100/10 experience all around! If you're ever at Disneyland or Downtown Disney try this place or any of the other two places (Centrico and Tiendita) curated by the first Mexican born chef to earn a Michelin Star chef Carlos Gaytán. All located right next to each other. I haven't had the other two but if Gaytán is behind it, I'd bet it's a HIT. read more

We reserved this restaurant for our company offsite and were seated right away--such a smooth and seamless experience! We went all in on appetizers (probably more than we should have), but no regrets because everything was incredible. The queso was hands down the standout--simple yet absolutely perfect, especially when paired with the warm, crusty bread. The beef tartare was rich and flavorful, the oysters were fresh and briny, and the octopus was tender with just the right amount of char. For entrées, we ordered a variety of dishes, but the lamb definitely surprised me the most--it was perfectly cooked, tender, and not gamey at all, which can be hard to find! Catal had a good run but after 2 years, Paseo has moved in and smoothly took its place. It's a great location in the middle of DTD and still has that great view if you're sitting outside. The little charred bits of slightly spicy chorizo were as Disney goes...a surprise and delight. Great dinning experience. Service was good, decor and ambiance is very tropical and welcoming. We sat at the balcony, overseeing the crowds of downtown Disneyland. We ordered a shrimp ceviche plate that was amazing, but the star was the cochinita pibil for sure. Takes you back to vacations in the yacatan peninsula. Sadly we had no more room to try desert. So impressed with this place! It's definitely our new favorite restaurant at Disneyland/ downtown Disney. Our server knew the menu well and gave us good recommendations. We started with the queso fundido. The chorizo and mushrooms gave it a good kick. It also paired well with the sourdough and Josie chips. We then ordered the cochinita pibil after and it was so tender and flavorful. I would order both dishes again. Lastly the interiors were so cozy and well designed. Great friendly service. Got reservations through the Disney app on our visit. It is a bit further outside of Disney - walk wise. One thing is that we came on a hot day and it felt like this place didn't have AC but they shaded the windows which I guess made the place cooler. We did order ceviche here and it was okay. The fish was not cut into smaller pieces but like slabs. Had to break it up to enjoy it a bit better. To be honest I don't remember much on our food but the waiter was really nice and friendly. For a 4.5 star restaurant, the group I was with was highly dissatisfied. I don't like giving low ratings, and I really try to find the positives, but this place just didn't cut it for us. We were a large group (10 of us in all), so we really did try to have some patience and understanding regarding our experience, but for the cost of this Downtown Disney dining experience, we really expected more from this place. The Good They got us seated reasonably around our reservation time. The guacamole was decent. The Mediocre The service was "eh" ... Jorge did make sure that our water glasses were full, and was the only one who had a smile and made us feel like we weren't an inconvenience. The Bad The bathrooms were disgusting. Use some of your profits to pay someone to make sure they are clean. The prices were out of line for what was served. Most of the waitstaff seemed like we were an inconvenience until it was time to settle the bill. For a Mexican restaurant, the selection was abysmal at best. They upcharge $5 for a senior citizen to order off the kid's menu. This would be understandable if they increased the portion size by even a small amount, but that's apparently not how it works. Not that it affected the food, but they didn't even have the little table lights where we were seated. The Ugly Long wait time for the food. Like exceptionally long. Most of our food came out cold (seriously) to lukewarm (at best.) The overpriced drinks - a $6 soda for a child??? Serving sizes were considerably smaller than other high quality restaurants. That would be fine if the food was good and the prices were adjusted. Would I ever go here again? Absolutely not. Would I recommend anyone go here? No. I'd go to Taco Bell before returning to this place. read more

Beans and rice had good taste. Tortillas were money but good. Short rib my wife ordered was good. The small plates were great. Duck Tamal was spicy bit good flavor. But the tetela was the star of the show. Kids meals were bad. Mac and cheese was horrible. The steak and frites didn't come in time and was rushed to make. Chicken tenders was the only good meal from that night. Floor manager did a great job. Spoke Spanish and I let him know about the Mac and cheese. Reservation at 9pm. Place didn't look busy. First day of our Disney adventure and decided to have dinner at Paseo in Downtown Disney and thoroughly loved it. First our server David was fantastic. Well versed in everything the menu offered from cocktails to appetizers to entrees (and probably desserts if we weren't already sated). He absolutely steered us right. The restaurant space is lovely, open and comfortable. A nice redo from the prior Pinot Group restaurant. For appetizers we tried the tuna ceviche and the chicken tetela which were full of flavor, texture and beautifully presented. For entrees the hubby had the Yucatán Fish and I had the Mama's Cochinita Pibil ( which David and our food server both claimed was their favorite). Definitely a must go place and great for a date, family or celebration event. read more

Food was delicious--I got the Yucatán fish with the sauce on the side, and I enjoyed it both with and without the sauce. The highlight, however, was the service. The three hostesses I met were all very efficient and personable, though I unfortunately didn't catch their names. My server's name was Juan, and he was fantastic--very friendly, and quite good at reading people; he offered suggestions that made sense for each member of our party and kept track of our complex orders well. 10/10, definitely would recommend. read more

Food was served ICE COLD. For a restaurant charging people for a meal, that is ridiculous. This was not just bad service, it felt like a potential food safety issue. California's Retail Food Code says hot potentially hazardous food is supposed to be held at 135°F or above, so this is not something that should be brushed off. Unfortunately the flavor of the Beet Salad wasn't even a fraction as good as its presentation (which is clearly immaculate). For such an aesthetic triumph, it was a surprisingly one dimensional meal with the sweetness of the beets overriding any notes from the mole rosa and goat cheese (barely visible or noticeable below the central beet). Overall it was a dull dish that suffered from heightened expectations based on visual appeal. I really didn't think I would enjoy Paseo too much as most "trendy" pricier Mexican inspired food places usually let me down BUT this place is great! I'm an Annual Passholder so I would always see Paseo when walking through Downtown Disney and I loved the vibe of the upper outside seating. Got lucky with a 5 pm Saturday night reservation because as I tried to get a later time checking the app, there was nothing avail in the block of 1 pm to 9 pm. So we stuck with 5 pm and it was perfect. Checked in at the booth downstairs, then a few min later we were told to go upstairs and check-in with the team there. They seated us right away at a 4 top upstairs on the patio - yay! Exactly what we wanted. It was sunset time, the weather was amazing and the employees at Paseo were the best! Made us feel very welcome. Ordered a couple of cocktails, yummy and gorgeous. Then got the chips and salsa with 3 different salsa flavors, the habanero one was way to hot for me. The chips were made fresh. For dinner I had the Rajas with Queso and the Pork Belly Boa tacos. My BF got the Pork Shank. My goodness the food is good here! We ate here before coming to park because it was raining. We ordered one quesadilla and a lot of coffee. Both items were good and the coffee refills kept coming before we had a chance to ask for more. The upstairs is nicely decorated and is a good place to hang out. The staff was friendly and our came out quick. We came early in the morning but as the afternoon approached more people came. We loved our quick little stop at this restaurant. OVERALL : Paseo is a new restaurant that opened up in DTD serving upscale Mexican food. They have both Brunch and Dinner menus, and their restaurant has a bar serving up a nice variety of cocktails and other alcoholic beverages. The ambiance is modern and upscale, with an upstairs balcony area overlooking the hustle and bustle of DTD. Our server was friendly, and service / food was prompt on a Sunday afternoon. I really enjoyed the ambiance, but I felt that I had slightly higher hopes for some of the food given the price point and location. I would give them another try for Dinner though, to see if I have different thoughts on the dinner menu items! PARKING : This restaurant is located in Downtown Disney, so we parked at the Simba lot (Downtown Disney Parking Lot). It does fill up especially during the holiday season so come early or be prepared to make a few rounds to find parking! The restaurant does validate parking which helps a lot with the cost! FOOD/DRINKS : Chips and Guacamole - This was DELICIOUS! The chips were fresh and warm still, and the guacamole was the perfect ratio of acidity + creaminess. It def tasted fresh and went so well with the chips. Great amount too so I didn't feel like I had to ration out my guac with each bite. Paseo Waffles - Duck Leg Carnitas, Sweet Potato Purée, Brussels Sprouts, Poached Egg, Chipotle Tamarind Glaze -- The waffle was substantial and I appreciated the unique flavors of the tamarind glaze + sweet potato puree mixed with the syrup and waffles. The Brussel Sprouts were roasted (yum!) and the egg was nicely done with a runny yolk. I had high hopes for the duck carnitas since it was the main protein of this dish, but unfortunately it was pretty tough / dry and I wasn't able to get many bites out of it. I ended up eating mostly just the waffle w the egg and Brussel sprouts, which did not make this dish worth it for me. Quesbirria Tacos - Fresh Corn Tortilla, Lamb Birria, Oaxaca Cheese, Avocado Mousse, Cilantro, Red Onion, Consommé  -- I felt like this was a little on the drier side unfortunately and there wasn't much consommé to dip. This was also pretty steep in price for 2 tacos. Chilaquiles - Tortilla Chips, Salsa Verde, Pico de Gallo, Fried Egg, Sour Cream, Queso Fresco, Avocado [Made without Gluten] For an additional cost, add Flank Steak or Chicken Barbacoa -- We added Flank Steak for an additional charge. The steak was actually tender and cooked medium rare as we had requested. The chips went well with all the other ingredients and soaked everything up! Crunchy yet saucy at the same time. Don't come here after Disney. We were seated late for an 8PM reservation on a cold, intermittently raining night. The hostess led us to a -- freezing -- balcony patio. More than half the tables inside were free, so we asked if we could sit inside. She looked me straight in the eye and told me "no, we're too busy." Okay, sure, maybe they had 830 or 9 seatings, I get it. But, Nope. We sat outside in the wind with a panoramic view of the increasingly empty dining room until 930, by which time the restaurant was nearly empty -- amd the check-in hostess downstairs had moved her podium inside, because she was cold, too. We were well dressed and polite -- but came with (well bahaved) kids after being at the park all day. Maybe that's what got us exiled. ​ Paseo doesn't want you (just your money), and will lie to your face. Food was good, not great: you're not missing anything. The Tropipop Crush was super refreshing and fruity, and the Cadillac Margarita had the perfect balance -- smooth, strong, and really flavorful.
