Great Maple here at Pixar Place Hotel is a gem, in my opinion. I've been a handful of time and each visit was always good. My go to dish is the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich and it's absolutely delicious. It's enough to fill you up for the whole day. What took me by surprise was that it was a double chicken patty sandwich. I always upgrade to the truffle fries which I also like. Some other items I've tried are the Donuts, Ribeye Melt, and the ribs platter. I'd skip out of the ribeye melt but those ribs were pretty tasty as well. The donut wasn't the "freshest" when I had it, it tasted like it's been sitting under a heat lamp for sometime but I'm willing to try again. Great Maple also validates downtown Disney parking so feel free to explore and check out what the hotel has to offer. Takeaways: the hot chicken sandwich and Parmesan truffle fries are absolutely delicious. I always ask for extra hot honey on the side. My go to and highly recommend. I really appreciate the effort the staff put into accommodating my food allergies. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable about ingredients, allergen concerns, and cross-contamination, which made me feel much more comfortable dining here. She took the time to answer questions and ensure my meal was prepared safely, and I truly appreciated that level of care. The reason I'm giving two stars is not because of the service, but because of the limited options available for guests with allergies. There were very few menu items I could safely choose from, and substitutions were also quite restricted. While I understand that accommodations aren't always possible, the lack of flexibility made it difficult to enjoy the dining experience fully. If the restaurant expanded its allergy-friendly options and allowed more substitutions, it would make a huge difference for customers with dietary restrictions. I'll be honest, I was a bit wary of going here with a large group of people (6 people) and having never dined here before after seeing the lower scores on Yelp. Added to the pressure was the fact that I was deemed the de facto tour guide and Disney expert as the only one with a Magic Key pass and the fact that many individuals were from out of state. I made the reservation to dine here the day of through the Disneyland app and I had to call to delay our reservation by 15 minutes since we had to walk all the way from the parks to the Great Maple Modern American Eatery (at the Pixar Hotel, completely different side of downtown Disney), but we power walked there with 5 minutes to spare and the front of house staff was super welcoming, set everything up for us and was patient to wait for us to all be there after recovering. Love that it's a modern and upscale looking restaurant and yet there are black and white portraits of iconic Pixar characters like Remy, Bo Peep, Frozone, and much more. Fun touch. Our server was super friendly and attentive, pouring all of our waters each and every time, clearing plates, and just checking up on us the entire time. We were the last group to dine there and leave, so I can understand how this can be annoying, but the customer service was top tier. For our dinner, we got the: 1) Moroccan Iced Tea: -It's an iced black tea with lime juice, mint, and some flavoring syrup. Strong refreshing flavor that woke me up during the meal from the delicious taste (good for a long tiring day). 2) Portobello Mushroom Fries: -Battered and fried portobello mushroom slices stacked in a neat Jenga-like way with basil pesto aioli dip. Comes with some parmesan and red pepper flakes on top. -This caught everyone's eye and was a favorite of the table. Mushrooms were not chewy at all and the seasoning made it easy to eat and addictingly tasty. If you told me it were pieces of katsu, I don't think I'd notice at all! 3) Falafel Wrap: -Comes with a side of fries or field greens and since I was filling up on food all day, I had to get the field greens (arugula, small tomatoes, croutons, and more with a vinaigrette). Nice hit of greens and generous filled to the brim side of salad. -The falafel wrap came in warm flat bread. The inside were generous pieces of chickpea falafel, arugula, small tomatoes, kalamata pickles, pickled onions, tzatziki sauce, and cauliflower hummus. Each bite had a different diverse range of textures and tastes, making each one unique and hard to get tired of. Though I had to take this to go (was so full from the day, my boyfriend enjoyed the leftovers greatly). Everyone enjoyed their dinner and expressed how delicious everything was. We had someone from Kansas City, hailing from the land of god tier BBQ, state that the BBQ they ordered here was delicious. Don't mind coming back here in the future! read more

Located in the Pixar hotel this restaurant has a great vibe with a massive two sided bar. The server we got was also bartending and was busy but still gave us great service. A manger checked in with us mid meal. My wife loved her blt. My Cesar salad was kind of flavorless and made hard to eat by the bowl it was served in. My lemon shrimp pasta was good but lacked that flavor punch that makes great sauce dishes shine. The kids flatbread pizza was just ok. This is the only restaurant in Pixar Pixar Hotel and it gets busy at night as soon as it opens. I was skeptical that it would be another bad hotel restaurant but the food was pretty good. I had a great Espresso Martini super creamy and frothy. Also had the fish sandwich- the fish filet is massive and stacked. It's messy with the slaw but hot and fresh and well made. I got the side Caesar salad and it was good. My guest got the chopped wedge which did not come dressed and we asked for dressing it never came. The waitress was super busy and hardly checked on us. When she FINALLY came and we told her we didn't get any dressing she did take off the salad. Remainder of trip we didn't eat there again. read more

This was my second visit to Great Maple. This restaurant is situated in the Pixar Place Hotel. I love that the restaurant continues the Pixar theming of the hotel, but also has a fun, modern personality of its own. The food here is all about comfort with their giant maple bacon doughnuts and their huge French toast logs. I have been for both breakfast and dinner, and I feel like they are both solid meals. On this visit, we came in at about 8:45am. The restaurant was actually close to empty. We were seated right away and our server was super helpful, and really sweet to my family. When the food came I was very pleased with what I ordered. The Cajun shrimp Benedict is served on their signature biscuits, really good shrimp and a Cajun hollandaise sauce. The biscuits are fried and the shrimp are well seasoned. It also comes with their scalloped potatoes with sour cream and onion baked into it, which are quite addictive. My wife had their protein plate as she wanted something healthy. My daughter had their kids pancakes, which she loved. My only issue here is that the food did take a long time to come out. It felt odd as they were not busy at all, but maybe they were just short staffed. I feel like that wasn't an issue last time. In any case, I highly recommend eating here on a visit to Disneyland. read more

When we don't have a park reservation, a dining reservation at a Disney property is the next best bet to experience some of the magic. Great Maple was a bit lackluster for us, though. We came specifically for the restaurant week menu so it was a bit limited, to be fair. But, to their credit, it was a great value. I think I would actually only come back (or recommend others go) if it was for restaurant week. Otherwise, the prices are pretty steep for being all the way over at Pixar Place and not having many magical touches to the menu. The cold brew in the glass bear cup was pretty cute, but that's kind of where the whimsy ended for me. The shrimp and avocado stack was pretty good but my protein bowl was just okay. They also upcharged us for my salmon but it was supposedly included in the restaurant week menu (but after I already had to correct the bill for not reflecting the restaurant week prices, I didn't want them to have to rectify this a second time). For dessert, we shared the maple bacon donuts. These were yummy but a little too indulgent. I just don't think I'm a maple bacon fan. Overall, I don't think I'll be rushing to come back here and but if you want to try, I'd recommend waiting until restaurant week. read more

Our party of 9 had a reservation to celebrate our niece graduating from CSU, Fullerton. Our server Cesar was very nice, albeit a bit scattered at first. He asked if anyone had any food allergies/preferences so we informed him that our niece was vegetarian. He said he would bring her a vegan menu to peruse, great! After waiting nearly 15 minutes, we had to flag him down and ask for the vegan menu again. "So-and-so didn't bring it?" I'm pretty sure he said that HE would bring it. Sensing our annoyance, he kicked into gear and became very attentive. Once he took our orders, the food came out relatively fast. I had the Cobb wedge salad, plenty of Romaine hearts sliced vertically, w/pulled chicken, bacon, avocado, radish, pickled onions & blue cheese crumbles. I really enjoyed it. Hubby had the It's a date salad, tons of Kale with dates and croutons, he felt like he was eating cow feed as the kale was a bit tough.The rest of our party had meatloaf, fish sandwich, shrimp pasta, hot chicken sandwich, poblano & cheese tamale and a falafel burger. Previously, I had dined at this location within the first month of opening and loved it for brunch. They had a vegetarian bacon option made from mushrooms that I loved; sadly, that option is no longer on the menu. Though I wanted to still dine here as one of my besties and I were staying at Pixar Place Hotel. We booked dinner the night before her Disney Half-Marathon and Brunch post-run the day of our checkout. I wrote a review on the other page, but this one appears to be the official one. For dinner, we had the amazing Cesar who was exceptional with my food allergies while delivering the definition of service with a smile. He even self-identified I was given regular fries and not Parmesan truffle to take to correct; which I appreciated it as I would have just dealt with the kitchen error to avoid food waste. Though he was exceptional, the noise in the dining room was very jarring. This alone will deter me from doing dinner there in the future. Lastly regarding the dinner service, we both were not impressed with our entrees. The Turkey Bolognese lacked seasoning and the chicken sandwich was dry. The mushroom fries were a hit so if I were to go here, I'd stick to starts and the delicious Mule I had. Though a lackluster dinner the night before in terms of flavor, we kept the brunch reservation as the first time I dined here was great. Thankfully, it was less loud for a better experience seated in a corner by the glass windows. Service was very slow today, but we were not in a rush. The cold brew bears are a thing I remembered from when they opened, and eagerly awaited one that came after our meals due to the bar being backed up. I ended up requesting another and shocked they are no free refills as $10 for how small they are seems crazy; I could have sworn when I came the first time they were one free refill. Perhaps allowed when first opening? Not the end of the world, but wish the waitress confirmed the charge first for a second one. I wasn't terribly fussed so I didn't bring it up. As for the brunch food, it was a little better than dinner the night before in terms of flavor. We had a better brunch the day before at Carnation Cafe in Disneyland surprisingly. Overall, a bust both visits and I would only recommend for convenience if staying at Pixar Place. Or unless you are missing Dr. Pepper like I do as no one where in the parks has Dr. Pepper. I would not go out of my way to visit while in the parks staying at the Disneyland Hotel or off property as no product specifically is memorable to go back that far from the parks. read more

Great Maple at Pixar Place is a super cute place to dine and is very in-theme with Disney. There is parking available in the hotel lot right next to it and you can get it validated at the restaurant itself. The food is very delicious in my opinion. I ordered the turkey bolognese dish and it was so savory. You can probably split that with another person, as it's big portion. I also ordered the It's a Date kale salad, also very shareable for the table. The kale was very crisp and fresh, too! Even though it was crowded, the servers did a really great job keeping up with the table and ensuring we had water refills. The staff is overall very friendly and accommodating. If you're in the Disney area or spending a day at the park, I recommend taking a break and giving this place a try! read more

The inside of this restaurant is light and airy,Filled with pixar characters photos throughout its interior because it is located inside the Pixar hotel. I had the signature dish Chicken and doughnuts. The chicken was spicy, not greasy covered in maple syrup and the doughnuts were light and fluffy with a maple glaze and bacon bits. We each ordered an eggs benedict, I had the classic and he had the shrimp, and with the side of au gratin potatoes they were amazing. The biscuit is much easier to cut into and gives a very different texture than the usual English muffin. The biscuit in its own right is so good although I do prefer an English muffin for a Benedict, or something with a little more crunch to contrast the eggs and ham. Did not disappoint us in a birthday celebration We had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes with petite onion rings on top to make it special but the one spectacular meal that sounded different but interesting was the maple bacon donuts with fried chicken(felt more like chicken tenders but it's ok) Wowzer the donuts were huge but so scrumptious and paired up like a chicken and waffle meal. We've eaten at great maple in Hillcrest many times and looked forward to eating again while on our Disney vacation. Our server took our order and then ignored us for 45 minutes, never refilling drinks or checking to make sure the food came out ok. We ordered the French toast logs that came out completely soggy and uncooked in the middle - all 8 of them. Unfortunately since we didn't see a server or any other staff after they came out we didn't get a chance to say anything until she came to give us the check. Let her know they were raw & mushy in the middle and they comped ONE of them, although all were uncooked. The pancakes tasted like they were straight from a bisquick box. Overall- not impressed with this location at all. Had this been my first or only experience with the Great Maple I would never go back. Located inside the Pixar Hotel on Disney property, Great Maple is a solid spot for fresh takes on American classics. My family has been twice for brunch, though they also offer dinner. The brunch menu has standard breakfast plates, but also offers heartier lunch dishes like sandwiches and salads. On my most recent visit I ordered the fried fish sandwich, which came piled high with fried catfish, slaw and a spicy aioli. I had to take some of the fish out to be able to eat it, it was huge! The sandwich was delicious, and it was served with a side of fries that were hot and fresh. I also ordered a side of the mac and cheese which was creamy and flavorful. The space is open and bright with modern decor. My friend shared some beignets with the table, they came with a lemon curd dipping sauce. They were hot and fresh when they arrived at the table. The service was prompt and friendly. Our server was very attentive. The only miss for us was the cold brew coffees which tasted watered down and didn't have much flavor. From the decor to the service this place is great! I got the ribeye hash and for ONCE I did not add hot sauce to it lol the food was so flavorful that it did not need help. Every bite was full of flavor. The chilaquiles look like nachos but still taste delicious. We've eaten at Great Maple in Hillcrest numerous times (and the ill fated San Diego UTC location). They were always excellent. This didn't really compare. My wife loves Eggs Benedict and orders it many places. Here the hollandaise was significantly spicier than normal. They remade it but brought it out with no hollandaise, because the batch was too spicy and they were remaking it. When she was almost done they brought a small amount of hollandaise but it wasn't warm. Our younger daughter's pancakes and scrambled eggs came with lukewarm pancakes and room temperature scrambled eggs. My ribeye hash was yummy. Our older daughter's mac n cheese was not to her liking but that may have just been her (she's loves mac but is particular so sometimes this happens) All in all pretty underwhelming. read more

The ribs taste boiled they are tender but dry. The scalloped potatoes are also dry like they were made 3 days ago and reheated. The hot honey coleslaw taste like mayo no hot or honey flavor and the white cheddar biscuit was just a biscuit no cheddar taste. Lastly the food came out lukewarm to the touch but not cold enough to send back. Kids Mac n cheese is an adult portion and came out hot was good but nothing to write home about. I would literally rate this no stars if I could. Food was greasy and over cooked. The drinks were not made according to what they said they were. Our server was rude and dismissive. The manager was worse. The only good thing they have going for them is the sour cream and onion scalloped potatoes. Everything else wasn't good. Also nowhere does it say you can't use your Disney resort discounts on the weekend. The app says you can. When we asked the manager she was extremely rude and said that there is no way to apply the discount even though she acknowledged the problem was their fault. She didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. I would expect better food and service from a restaurant located at Disney. read more

I stopped by the surfside lounge in the Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel for a quick lunch bite. They serve the American type "hotel" food that is a little pricier but tasted better than anticipated. I started off with the calamari and finished with the cheeseburger. A standard dish that was made well with great service. What's up at this lounge? Surf's up! Located inside of the Paradise Pier Hotel at the Disneyland Resort, Surfside Lounge is a nice tucked away in a nice little cozy corner. The lounge is not too horribly big but there is a decent amount of seating (bar, table, and lounge) and they also have a tv. They serve a few meals, snacks, drinks, and coffee and there is also a full bar. I did not try any of their food offerings but I did partake of some adult beverages at the bar. When we went it was during a weekday evening in the fall before DCA closed for the day and the place was dead. The Castmember bartender was attentive and very chatty and warned that she had a heavy hand. This. Probably one of the better things you could possibly hear while at any bar. The drinks and service were both great and having the place all to ourselves was even better. I don't know why I haven't checked this spot out sooner. read more
