We snagged reservations at Cafe Orleans a few times, and I've been coming here for years and remembered loving the sandwiches. What used to feel like a half sandwich now looks closer to a quarter left. What surprised us was my new favorite dish from this visit. It was actually the provencal beans and herb pesto salad. Feeling fresh and cool and also a nice break from all the heavier park food. The gumbo was comforting too, though I wish they were a little more generous with the sausage. I got the plate version and even then it was only good to share as an appetizer I feel like. For entree, the shrimp pasta leaned way too salty for me. Service was excellent though. Our server was super attentive and kept checking in on us with drinks even while the restaurant was busy. Inside seating is honestly such a good escape from socal heat. But personally, sitting outside, there's just something fun about people-watching in New Orleans Square while taking a breather from the park chaos!
Giving this place a 4 start because our server Jannie was amazing!! Very attentive and sweetheart!! I ordered the chicken Caesar salad w/ chicken and it was 3/5. Wish they had avocados though!! We ordered a glass of Meiomi wine that was of course good !! The ambiance was perfect! We sat outside right in the center of a show that was very beautiful!!! Since we sat outside the ground was a lil dirty from previous patrons sitting, and I'm sure kids being kids but it was decent clean. We were hungry so it's good to find something convenient while walking many miles at Disney lol it's pretty spacious with many tables. I will come back to get a glass of meiomi again for sure! -Marshay D.
We made reservations for Cafe Orleans but because of the size of our party it was made under two separate reservations at two different but close times. We went a little early to see if we could possibly combine the two so we would be able to sit together at the same time. They were more than accommodating and were even able to seat us a little earlier. The food and service were excellent. I had the short ribs and replaced the rice with mashed potatoes. The meat was so tender and had a wonderful flavor. We ordered a side of Pommes frites and even though it was a small portion we still shared between three people and they were excellent. The creme brulee was perfectly prepared with the perfect texture and sugar top. The outside patio offered great views of the rivers of America and we saw the boats go by and of course amazing people watching too.
My husband and I typically plan one single special meal together when we are at any of the Disney parks. Since we were there for Lunar New Year, we figured we would just throw in a Valentine's date that we hadn't had yet. Blue Bayou is extremely difficult to get reservations for, so Cafe Orleans ended up being our second choice. Located in the French Quarter, it was charming and whimsical, with a touch of class. We were seated facing the street, as requested, and it was fun to people watch. Service members were attentive and inquisitive. The speed at which items arrived was a little on the slower side, but we didn't mind savoring the moment. I ended up getting the battered and fried monte cristo sandwich, with seasonal preserves and a caesar salad. This was one of the best versions of a monte cristo I've ever had. The ham and turkey with melted Swiss was encased in what looked like a very large beignet. It was incredibly airy and pillowy on the inside. And the exterior was perfectly golden brown, dusted in a hint of powdered sugar. This was a wonderful marriage of sweet and savory. I did not feel like my taste buds were overwhelmed at all by the potential heaviness of the sandwich components. In any case, the caesar salad was very overdressed and slightly soggy, but it served as an excellent palate cleanser. My husband ordered the braised beef short rib platter. The meat was very flavorful and was so incredibly tender. The mushroom demi-glacé just soaked into the meat and also was a lovely accompaniment to the vegetables. Overall it was much more than I would have expected from a park restaurant. I was very pleased with the quality of the food, presentation, the pricing, ambience, and staff service. Don't let this sleeper pass you by!
Definitely a place everyone visiting Disneyland should try at least once especially if they're not able to snag a reservation at Blue Bayou. However, I would recommend setting up a reservation here too and don't be shy about having an early dinner either because you might be able to get a nice patio seat where you can dine, people watch as well as watch the Mark Twain riverboat pass by every so often, like my family did with a 4:50pm dinner reservation. A dish that's not to be missed is the Monte Cristo fried sandwich. Absolutely decadent but it's a classic for a reason. Even if you're suffering from multiple comorbidities, go for it! Or at the very least, hopefully you're dining with another person who can order it and you can have a bite. It's almost like a blend of Navajo fry bread and Chinese Youtiao/oil bread sticks and my dish also came with some strawberry jam that added a nice complimentary sweetness to this salty and savory mixture. My wife ordered the braised short rib. It was tender and flavorful but the glaze was a little too sweet for her tastes especially since she was watching her blood sugar levels. She was actually considering ordering one of the pastas but I convinced her that the alfredo cream sauces + the carbs from the pasta would have done the same to her blood sugar level as the demi glace that was on the short rib and plus this is Disneyland so just let loose a little!
Drew, the server was 100% on point and amazing. The patio is a great place to have a relaxing meal and the food is the best in the park. It sharses a kitchen and chefs with Blue Bayou. I had the shrimp pasta- amazing. And my friend had the monte cristo. He loved that too. Just a good place to eat. Theme park soendy, but good.
Glad we got to eat inside the air conditioned restaurant. It was a 45 min wait without a reservation at lunchtime. Cute NOLA vibes. I ordered the triple cheese monte cristo. So good & unique. The dipping sauce was sweet & delicious. The French fries were perfection. My husband loved the chicken Alfredo pasta. The staff was attentive. We had our drinks filled the whole time. Restrooms aren't inside the restaurant, you have to go around the corner to the park restrooms.
3/31/26 We booked a Fantasmic Pre-fix Dinner reservation for $64/pp which includes a 3 course dinner (stater, main and dessert). Children over 9 have to book an adult meal. Everything costs a lot these days but if it can give us preferred seating for a show, we feel like it's worth it to not fight a crowd to sit on the floor and enjoy the show with your kids. Like all dining reservations at the park, each restaurant will ask for a CC to hold seating and if you no show, the can and will charge a fee. Reservations here can be cancelled over 2 hours before. You are also able to check in at least 20 mins before your rsvp. We did and got seated 10 mins before our RSVP timeslot. We ordered to start 2 cups of gumbo, Caesar salad and a calamari. Pretty yummy and descent side size outside of the gumbo which was really small cups. My partner ordered the short rib and Cajun shrimp with rice for a $10 adder with asparagus. The braised beef was very beefy. Best portion of the table. The pasta entrees (ordered 2 shrimp and one chicken) were smaller than expected in size. My teenager kid was like is this not going to fill me at all. The chicken was extremely dry. The Cajun shrimp was seasoned well but pasta was overcooked and really soft. Portions were smaller than your usual from franchise pasta restaurants. The dessert was disappointing. We were given 2 choices and ordered 2 of each. Vanilla bean creme brûlée with blueberries and 2 chocolate decadence tarts. The creme brûlée lacked any real flavor. It was just a custard on a tasteless tart. The chocolate decadence tart was really decadent. Like you need milk or coffee with it. I am still not quite sure what the mousse rock dome was as it was tasteless inside the chocolate shell. It had a small berry filling. If they swapped this for vanilla ice cream, it would be the perfect pairing! Food, Portions and price was an overall on a good day would probably be less than a 2.5. Kristina our server, service was great! She was attentive and was full on 5 stars! Our fantasmic seating was great (get there at 8pm for a 9pm showing) for best seats. Would I do it again? 50/50 - if you have young kids, yes 100%! If your kids are older than 10 and can hold their own in standing views, I'd get them what they want to eat and tough it with the crowds :P
Got a reservation at Cafe Orleans and was excited to try it out! I usually never do sit-down restaurants while at Disney so this was a nice change of pace. Everything looked and smelled delicious. The gumbo was my favorite! It was creamy and umami, and portion size was filling for a bowl size. The short rib was a tad on the salty side, but meshed well with the rice and was very tender! The Caesar salad was a nice palate cleanser but a bit too overdressed, the dressing was getting too creamy and salty by the end. The Monte Cristo was yummy too but definitely needs to be shared as it's a bit too doughy if I ate it all myself. The workers are nice and came by to check on us throughout the meal. Nice area to sit and people watch while enjoying a yummy meal and listening to music!
Glad we chose this restaurant to eat inside Disneyland. The vibe inside the restaurant was New Orleans but, not over the top. We did not make reservations before entering the park. We did walk up and were told it would be 45 minutes. So we put our names in and they texted us. The more upscale restaurant nearby had no availability for the whole day. Guest reserve the upscale restaurant a long time in advance. The servers kept our soda pop and water topped off. The food was really good. The Pasta Chicken Alfredo was probably the best that I have ever had. Disclaimer - I don't order Pasta Chicken Alfredo often. The Cheese Monte Cristo was great but, really rich.
I was lucky enough to make my reservations the week before our scheduled Disneyland trip! I had to put a credit card as a hold for the date/time I chose which was fine. Now for the Gumbo, extremely flavorful and tasty but was more in a soup form with mushy rice. I absolutely loved the blackened shrimp pasta, extremely creamy and sooooo yummy! I wanted a cup of coffee but I don't like half n half so I had to skip on that. Also, since our reservations were for 910pm we got to watch the Fantasmic show which was Awesome! I would have preferred to sit outside for a better view but it was still a great experience. I actually can't wait to come back tomor lol.
This was my 3rd time eating here, but it's been a few years since I've dined at Cafe Orleans. Based on previous experiences, my expectations weren't the highest. However, this was my first time dining outdoors on the patio, which was SO much nicer than eating indoors (I'm not a fan of the dark interior), and it was such a pleasant day and nice to people-watch. Our server was very sweet and was definitely managing a lot of tables! My daughter and I both ordered the braised beef, and although a bit pricey, it was so delicious, perfectly cooked with the fattest asparagus we have ever seen! We both gobbled it up and topped it off with the Lemon Icebox Cake, which was exquisite! Our meal here was our favorite part of the day. I'm wondering if their other meals are just as good, but I would like to come back to find out!

Made reservations in advance! Discounts available with magic key Bathrooms are nearby around the beignets at mint julep Staff was very friendly Braised short rib legit so tender! Good option inside of Disneyland for dinner! Got the Gumbo to start and the Blackened Shrimp Alfredo for the main dish. The Gumbo was delicious and should be offered as a main dish in my opinion. The Blackended Shrimp Alfredo Pasta was tasty! Just missing the option to add on a side of garlic bread. Service was good, our waiter was friendly and quick. Ambiance on the patio was nice with the cool evening air. read more
A great little spot in Disneyland! We love it here. The salads, gumbo, and short ribs were all excellent! And you must get the lemon cake for dessert! Wonderful service, great people watching, and a really fun vibe!! You should go! read more

Had lunch today at Café Orleans in Disneyland's New Orleans Square. This was actually my first time ever having a reservation for a sit-down meal inside the park, and the experience alone made it feel special. We ordered the Caesar salad, chicken gumbo, blackened shrimp Alfredo, and the braised beef short ribs. The food was good across the board and felt like a nice break from typical park dining. Everything came out well-prepared and satisfying. Service was exceptional and really elevated the entire experience. From start to finish, it felt relaxed, attentive, and well-paced -- especially appreciated in the middle of a busy park day. The only downside was that we were seated outside, which isn't always ideal depending on the weather. Overall, the experience was absolutely worth it. If you're looking for a sit-down meal inside the park, Café Orleans is a great option. read more
One of my favorite full service restaurants at the parks. We usually get seated outside on the patio which means we get to people watch LOL. My favorite regular items are the gumbo and French Fries. While it's not in the menu, you can request an entree sized chicken gumbo. Service has always been pretty good and they don't really rush you so my feet appreciate the break. LOL. On hot summer days I'll even ask for ice for my Owala and they willingly provide it. Just allows me to stay hydrated while I go spend more money at the parks. read more
Had lunch here at Cafe Orleans for the first time. Thankfully the park was a little slow and I was able to get a reservation on the Disney app within a 30 min window. Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly staff and was able to get seated within 5 mins. Everyone here was so nice!! We ordered the garlic fries, the shrimp Alfredo, and the braised beef short rib. The food is pretty good & it's a little break from theme park food. I would recommend if you're looking for something a little different in the park. read more
We ate here during lunch at Disneyland. If the water show was happening, this would be a great place to eat and watch. Highly recommend getting a reservation here because it does get packed quick. We ordered two entrees to share: Red Wine-braised Short rib and Frites, and the Battered and fried monte Cristo sandwich. The short rib was tender and flavorful, came with mashed potatoes, mushrooms and three asparagus. The monte cristo sandwich was decadent with a crispy doughnut texture and with garlic fries on the side. If you're undecided between choosing a dessert or entree, choose this! read more
We just had dinner at the Orleans Cafe, and it was a very good experience! We had the cajun butter chicken and the braised short rib. Both were very tasty, and the short rib was especially tender! Everything we wanted and more. We came to Cafe Orleans to get the famous Monte Cristo and it delivered. We shared a single entree and left stuffed. It was fries, it was delicious, it had amazing fries on the side and raspeberry dipping sauce. It matched and exceeded expectations. Be careful, this restaurant gets busy quick, grab a reservation. And arrive hungry you get a lot of sandwich. read more
Couldn't find a reservation at most of the restaurants in Disneyland park so we were able to secure a reservation here. Had not been here yet and I had not tried Cajun . Very busy and the staff were gracious and acknowledged our honeymoon celebration. We had the chicken gumbo, shrimp Alfredo and chicken . The gumbo was amazing! Had a spicy kick but was yummy! The chicken dish was decent and the mashed potatoes were creamy plus the green beans were cooked perfectly. The shrimp Alfredo was great and the shrimp was grilled to perfection! read more
I always love the plant-based options at Cafe Orleans! Their beans sweet potato hummus was so good (much better than it sounds). It was not sweet, and the pop of sweetness from the pomegranate seeds was so tasty the smoked tomato risotto was DELICIOUS, but it was really spicy--it seemed to have a lot of black pepper. I loved it, but just be aware in case you're sensitive to spice. Our server was lovely and attentive. It was chilly on the patio, but we got hot drinks to keep us warm. I love this place and will eat here every trip! read more
Made a reservation for Cafe Orleans a couple months back and had a wonderful time! We checked in 20 minutes early and got seated right away, and were put in their outdoor dining area. The weather was great, so looking out to New Orleans Square really added to the ambiance. For entrees, I got the Monte Cristo and my boyfriend the Braised Beef Short Rib. Both of these dishes were excellent! I've never had a monte cristo, and this met my expectations. The batter is thick and dense, so come hungry or share with a friend. The pommes frites were AMAZING! They were garlicy, hot and crispy, and paired extremely well with the sauce. The Braised Beef Short Rib was also delicious! The beef was extremely, extremely tender, it took no effort to dig into it at all, and it was extremely flavorful. The mashed potatoes rounded out this dish really well. The food at Cafe Orleans was great and I definitely recommend if you're looking for a dining experience that won't break the bank at Disneyland! read more
This restaurant is located in Disneyland next to Pirates of the Caribbean. I noted that they did not have the best reviews, but wanted to give them a try. I made reservations ahead of time and had no trouble being seated at our scheduled time. Table was a little small for a table of five, but the hostess and waitress were very friendly. We ordered the Cesar salad and Humas that were quite tasty. We tried the Cajun butter chicken, braised short ribs, and blackened shrimp pasta. We all agreed that the Cajun chicken was the best. Hint: You need to make reservations ahead couple of days in advance using the Disney app to get a desired time. If you order the Cajun chicken, ask for some extra butter sauce to use as a dipping sauce, it's really good. read more
First time trying Cafe Orleans at Disneyland didn't disappoint! Came to celebrate my birthday and I loved the experience. We sat inside and it was a very New Orleans themed spot with cute decor. Food was absolutely amazing! The pommes frites with remoulade sauce were out of this world and so was the blackened shrimp alfredo. Overall, I'd visit again! We had a few moments where we couldn't find our server and had to flag somebody down but everyone was very kind and it was a busy afternoon! read more
This review is long overdue as I dined a couple years back, and realized I never posted - ruh oh! I've been to this location a couple of times with the most recent having photos I uploaded when I came to dinner with my mom. Loved the haunted mansion themed items as they are beautiful and my mom said they were good. The crust contained nuts so I couldn't try. I personally loved the Hurricane and the sweethearts night menu when I was here for the after dark event. Not always a location I pick due to not always liking their menu items, but have had good meals in the past. If you want to dine here, reservations can be booked through the Disneyland app 60 days out at 6am PST. They can occasionally accommodate a walk up, but I recommend a reservation to ensure you can dine if you want to check this location out. read more
I love Cafe Orleans. The food here is unique and very flavorful; I love their Monte Cristo sandwich, it is so freaking good. I don't think a sandwich could be so good, and then those pomme frites just hit so well. Pair it all up with their delicious mint juleps or lemonade juleps, and the meal hits so well. My biggest complaint is that now you can't order the pomme frites individually like you used to be able to. You also can't order the gumbo on its own at times either unless it is part of a prix fixe, but I heard that sometimes you are able. I'm not sure about you, but I personally enjoy Cafe Orleans a lot more than Blue Bayou. The only thing Bayou has over Orleans is the scenery of the Pirates ride, but go during Fantasmic, and those views can't be beat. This place is one of a kind! read more
Just okay. My experience with Disney dining is always wow but this time was a little bleh. There was nothing wrong in particular, however to be spending that amount on dinner and needing reservations well in advance, and it being Disney I always expect a little bit more. We dined on the patio, which was quite messy, with tables all about and food on the floor. Our server didn't check in on us after getting our food and didn't really seem to be in an overall fine mood. The food was good, but again I feel like the bar is pretty high considering the other nearby dining options. I got the shrimp alfredo pasta and the noodles were overcooked and the sauce was bland. My husband got the short rib, which he enjoyed. He also got the signature bourbon julep, which I thought was awful and was not at all refreshing like a regular mint julep. $90+ for a very average dinner for 2, I would pass on this. read more
Made reservations here prior to my trip. The Short Rib was so tender and flavorful. Definitely one of my favorites and a must try if you are dining here. The Cajun Butter chicken was very juicy! Came here to rest our feet and get a quick meal in before attacking the rest of our day at Disneyland. The service was quick and the servers were super attentive and great. The food was just meh, but a good break from all the super oily and greasy food carts. We got a Bowl of Chicken Gumbo Soup. Bowl of Chicken Gumbo Soup - My first reaction to this soup was that it was very salty and that it didn't have much chicken. The flavors were pretty good, but the rice was an essential. I don't know how anyone could have sipped this like a soup because it was insanely salty. Overall, I probably didn't get the right thing here, but after this experience with the food here, I wouldn't want to try it again. read more

Great spot in New Orleans Square! Cafe Orleans was a perfect lunch break during our Disneyland day. The staff was super friendly. We sat the counter of the restaurant and it was nice and quiet. I had the shrimp pasta and loved it. The shrimp were flavorful and cooked just right, and the Alfredo sauce was creamy with a little kick. Really satisfying without being too heavy. read more

We scored a 3:15pm reservation at CAFE ORLEANS inside Disneyland Park! I booked it earlier in the morning through the app, on our drive down from Agoura Hills to Anaheim. It was one of the few options available, but I didn't mind since we've eaten here before during Sweethearts Night. Timing was perfect since we started our day at California Adventure, then hopped over to Disneyland to grab a bite to eat here. Our table was outside in a well shaded area with a view of Rivers of America/Tom Sawyers island. The menu is short & simple. Service was outstanding! Our server and busser were both friendly and efficient. We decided on two orders of the Melon Arugula Salad and Chicken Gumbo Soup. Both were incredibly delicious! I could not stop saying "OMG this is so good!" I don't think I've ever had cantaloupe or honeydew in my salad, but it works! Especially with the Meyer Lemon Vinaigrette. It was so refreshing after walking around Disney on a warm day! The Chicken Gumbo Soup was amazing! It's made with Tasso Ham, Andouille Sausage, Peppers, Tomatoes and Steamed Rice. All of the ingredients tasted so fresh. The spice combination was unlike any other gumbo I've had before. I'd order this again and again, but in a bowl. We couldn't have been more satisfied with our meals. Will definitely return! In fact, we tried to go back later that evening, but they weren't taking walk-ins. Does anyone know if regular menu items (pommes frites) are available during the holiday season? I know they have a holiday menu but was curious to know if that menu item would still be available?
Definitely worth asking. As a vegetarian, we always ask at every Disney restaurant any vegetarian/vegan specials not on the menu and 100% of the time, they have an option. So asking for fries seems like a done deal! Haha
Are the hot chocolate beignets still available?
They were in December but you need to make a reservation otherwise you can not order them. Honestly the staff at the restaurant were rather pretentious and rude. Across the way the regular beignets are amazing and staff is fantastic
Do they have the berry purée back for the Monte cristo because that had traded it out for maple syrup and I hated It?
Yes. I last went on 5/20/19 and my niece ordered the Monte Cristo. It came with the berry purée and it was delicious!
