Quoting my friend here: "I'm going to be 80 years old and still look back on this." Completely blown away by the classy, fancy atmosphere, the outstanding customer service, the quality of everything that went into our meal (even the water is the best tasting that I've had in the parks), the ingredients, and of course, the food! For all the years that I've gone to Disney with friends and been a passholder, I've never had the opportunity to dine here until now and I can see why. Limited dining hours and limited seating in the second floor of Carthay Circle. My friend's pass was expiring and I wanted to make our last trip worth it, so imagine my surprise when I saw openings? I booked it instantly. You check in outside and you're led to a waiting lobby area with this impressively huge vase of fresh flowers and pieces of memorabilia from the Snow White premiere at the actual Carthay Circle Theatre. You can then either ascend the stairs or take the elevator to the second floor. In the past when I've dined at the lounge and had to use the restrooms upstairs, I'd always sneak a glance into the restaurant and to be able to finally experience is nothing short of magical. My friend and I were in awe about how grand and ritzy everything looked. If it weren't the photographs of Walt or other guests in Mickey ears, I would have never known that I was at a theme park. The dining room is set in a circular fashion with some private rooms to the side. In the middle is an even grander, bigger case of fresh flowers that also acts as a wine ice bucket with all the wines at the center (pulled from the wine coolers at the side of the walls). Looking at the ceiling with the 4 chandeliers, there's artwork of the nature scenes of Snow White. Breathtaking. Our server was Adam and Alex came by to clear our table when plates started stacking up. Both are extremely personable, friendly, and truly elevated our dining experience. We learned so much about all of the care and effort that goes into crafting the culinary masterpieces here, the fact that the menu constantly rotates seasonally with the locally sourced and sustainable ingredients, and that the lounge and the restaurant have completely different kitchens. Insane. Immediately, we felt a bit out of our element seeing how affluent and posh everything was. There were TWO different forks, a special butter knife, everything on the menu came with a recommend wine pairing suggestion, and much more. For our dinner, we got the: 1) Crispy Pork Belly Glazed with Gochujang Butter: -This was served on top of a "Japanese pancake", or okonomiyaki and had sriracha aioli and gochujang butter that was the perfect level of sweet and spicy. -Pork belly was tender, very flavorful and had a slight crisp on the edges. Never had straight stick thin beansprouts that tasted that fresh (I usually hate beansprouts) and the pickled radish wasn't too sour either. This was cut into shareable 1/4 and a great way to start our meal. 2) White Cheddar Parker House Rolls: -6 piece pull away bread. Delicately moist and tender bread membrane inside with the light cheddar taste on the outside. -The Olive Oil Butter was super light and melted quickly on the bread. It had a subtly lemon flavor to it but the table favorite was the Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto. Easily the most "dense" and concentrated sun dried tomatoes I've ever had. Deliciously herby and salty with a slight sweet taste. -My friend: I gotta figure out how to become a millionaire to keep eating bread like this. 3) Grilled American Wagyu Picanha: -We got this medium as recommended and it comes with 2 skewers with 2 good sized pieces of wagyu picanha on them. -Meat is cooked to utter perfection. Super tender and moist, amazing texture and chew, slightly charred edges. The crispy richness of the fat pieces were amazing. -You'd never think to make this pairing, but it went amazingly well with the peach bits and the peach chimichurri. Deliciously sweet peach flavor with the umami and saltiness of the wagyu, and the burst of flavor from the grilled corn. Perfection. 4) Phyllo Dough Peach Custard: -Since peaches are in season and we enjoyed the entree so much, we had to get this. -Perfect phyllo dough exterior with the delicate flakiness, the custard at the bottom was subtle, and it all went perfectly with the peach sorbet. Both of us agreed it was the best sorbet we ever had. Very sweet, strong and rich peach flavor and the sorbet was actually gooey. You can tell it's freshly made in house and none of that icy stuff. The sweetness of the gooey peach sorbet, the flakiness of the dough, chew of the custard and sharp burst of tart sweetness from the blackberries made for an amazing dessert. Between 2 people, this was only $100~ which is insane for this level of fine dining. Definitely will try to come again! read more

Out of all the Disney dining options, Carthay Circle Restaurant is worth it if you're in the mood for a sit down, fine dining experience (or at least as fine dining as it gets for Disneyland). We started with the parker house rolls -- yum! And the asparagus with crème fraiche. The asparagus was much better than expected, super fresh and nice light appetizer to pair with the Parker house rolls. For the main I went with the sea bass with crab fried rice. This was okay. I don't know that Carthay circle does a great crab fried rice but it was decent. My husband got the pork chop and enjoyed it with his sidecar. To drink I got a double pear martini and a classic martini. Whew, these really pack a punch! Highly recommend the double pear especially, so yummy and refreshing. When planning my time at DLR, I wanted to end the day by having a proper sit-down dinner at one of their restaurants. I was browsing the DL website and noticed Carthay Circle; the food and reviews looked great, and the fact that it was located in DCA made it super convenient. That being said, I grabbed a reservation and made plans to have dinner here. Carthay Circle, which is also the name of a neighborhood in LA, draws its name and inspiration from the theater of the same name; the latter is one of the most famous movie houses of Hollywood's Golden Age. This inspiration is seen throughout the space, with the decor giving that old Hollywood feel - think a darker wood color scheme and vintage pictures on the wall. The restaurant is large - with the first floor housing the lounge and the second floor being the restaurant. The restaurant itself is separated into different rooms, but still feels very open. The menu is mostly elevated American fare. We decided to start with apps so I went with the roasted spring asparagus. In addition to the veg, this came with pistachio, basil, crème fraîche, and tomato. This was pretty good and kinda refreshing - I liked the combination of flavors and textures. We also decided to start with white cheddar Parker House rolls - these were nice and warm and came with butter. I mean - bread, cheese, butter...need I say more? For my main I got the sustainable fish of the day, which was sea bass. The fish sat atop spicy crab fried rice and came with a Thai basil-coconut nage. The dish was pretty good, but I would argue there were too many competing flavors - the fish, the rice, and the sauce didn't work together as well as I had hoped. I think the rice was out of place - it was too flavorful to be a complement to the meal; a less punchy carb would have fit better - and maybe some more veg. We also got a side of Brussels sprouts which contained white cheddar and bacon. These had a lot of flavor, but were too rich for me; they were also a little too soft, likely due to the cheese. I mean, I ate them, but couldn't have too many as they were kinda heavy. All the Cast Members we interacted with were great - our greeter who walked us to the table was super friendly and gave a lot of fun facts about the decor while we made our way upstairs. Our waiter Scott was awesome - the utmost professional and consistently made sure we were taken care of. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the food at Carthay, but there were some bright spots and perhaps their other menu items are stronger. Service was excellent, but it doesn't make up for the food and hence I can't give this more than a 3. I would give them another chance though, as I'm curious as to how their other menu items fare. read more

Dinner on 5/9/2026. My sister and I had the tuna crudo, short ribs and pork chops for dinner and we felt stuffed and unable to finish the pork chops because that was the saltiest out of the bunch. Tuna crudo was absolutely delicious, highly recommend! Short ribs was interesting and tasted like it was an experiment. The flavors felt like it would've been better on a steak instead. Pork chops was just ok and tasted salty. It's good to enjoy the ambiance as it has you forget about the amusement park environment. Service is a hit or miss depending on how busy they get. Exceptional experience from the staff and food. Everything was so delicious. We were sat near the kitchen and watching the sous chef take charge was fun to watch. My only complaint is the way the system is setup. Why bother with a mobile check-in, if we also HAVE to check-in in-person AND still had a 10minute wait after our reservation time. It was such an obnoxious process for no reason. And they really pack the restaurant, so no matter how quick and great the cooks are, you will be waiting. The atmosphere was worth it, but that doesn't help the check-in portion. read more

I've been here twice. The first time we came, we sat inside at the bar and the ambiance is old school, regal, dark, and cozy. Perfect place to unwind after a long day at California Adventure. This time around, we had patio seating at one of the high tops, and it's a great place to see the characters walk by. We waived hi to Mickey, Chip, Dale and other characters several times as they passed by. Their food is good, but the standout things for me would be their cocktails. I've had their espresso martini and double pair martini, and both are 10/10. Our server was great. I have been here several times over the past several years, and I think it's definitely been improving. The menu changes frequently, and I think the summer 2026 menu was really good. For an appetizer, we got the chorizo croquettes, which were actually good. They had a nice balance of cheese and potato, but I wish they had more chorizo. For an entree, I got the signature thick cut pork chop, and I loved the blackberry sauce and the tenderness of the meat especially on the edges. It seemed a bit tougher and dry in the very center. I really liked the peach phyllo custard I had for dessert. The custard was great, the custard had a nice vanilla flavor, and the peach sorbet and diced peach cubes paired well. I finally had a chance to try Carthay Circle Restaurant and had a good first experience. It is the upscale/pricier, table service restaurant of the Disney California Adventure (DCA) park, but the interior, service, and menu options definitely reflect this. If you're looking for a quality experience and sit down meal, the Carthay Circle Restaurant is definitely worth checking out. We were a party of four adults and two toddlers with an advanced dining reservation. We came in on a Thursday for dinner and had a minimal wait past the reservation time slot. The interior of the restaurant is nice and really gave the ambiance of old time, upscale Hollywood. Service throughout the meal was attentive, friendly, and prompt with requests. We ordered a few appetizers to share for the table and, of course, entrees. I really enjoyed the Salmon Carpaccio with Potato Crepes as well as the Roasted Artichoke Hearts for appetizers. For my main course, I tried the Signature Thick-Cut Pork Chop. It was exactly as described; thick cut. The cook was done well but the more I kept eating it, the saltier it got. Perhaps, I received a one-off piece, but as is, I could not recommend it. Our purpose of the dinner was to celebrate a birthday and the meal at the Carthay Circle Restaurant truly allowed us to do that with fun and class. I would return in the future for a special celebration being sure to try something other than the pork chop. This is a nice sit down restaurant option. While they do offer walk in, I would highly recommend making a reservation in advance. We came here for my kids' birthday. We were seated upstairs close to the kitchen, so there was a lot of traffic, people going in and out of the kitchen area. Our server was decent. She was as attentive as she can be. She was clearly busy with other tables. We have had more friendly servers in the past, so this was a one off. I would have appreciated more attention even if it didn't appear that we needed more. Our dishes were served as expected. We ordered just the right amount. All the dishes were cooked to our request. In 2020 I had been a long time Disneyland Annual Passholder and had reservations to celebrate my 44th birthday at Carthay Circle on March 19th. As you know, Disneyland closed on March 15, 2020 for over a year due to COVID. Since that time, Annual Passes have been replaced by the ridiculously expensive Magic Keys in an effort to decrease the amount of locals at the park (mission accomplished) and as a result, I have only been to Disneyland once since the closure. Anyways, I decided that this year on my 50th birthday we would try again. Hilarious how much you have to go through to eat dinner at this place. After obtaining reservations from the Disneyland app, I had to get park tickets and reserve the same day at the parks. We also had to buy the 3 day local ticket offer at 250 bucks each because buying a 1 day park hopper would only be 50 dollars cheaper for 1 day rather than 3 days Ok, on to the restaurant- it's beautiful. Think Musso and Frank in Hollywood, just not actually 100 years old. The recreation of old Hollywood is on point in every way (check out the sconce in the bathroom). Service is fine, but not exceptional. They give you the schpiel as you are walked up the stairs to the dining room, but their heart really isn't in it. Look for the hidden Mickey on the ceiling mural in the main dining room. Our waitress was friendly, but also just going through the motions. No suggestions on what to order or casual conversations here. As for the food, it ranged from excellent to OK. I ordered the pork chop and it was amazing. It came with an apple compote with bacon or pork belly and was perfectly cooked- moist and smokey. My wife ordered the short rib ravioli, which were tasty but surprisingly dry. I had read that in the past they had amazing fry bread, but now if you want bread you have to pay 14 bucks for rolls. I'm sure they make them there, but they really aren't special. I don't even think the butter is special either. At Remy's on the Disney Fantasy they told us the butter came from this exclusive farm in France that only makes butter for them. Also the brussel sprouts were tasty, but they were cooked to a mush, so if you like crispy brussel sprouts, don't order these. Finally, we weren't given a wine list. There are wine suggestions listed on the menu for each entree, which we did order, but for a fine dining restaurant this seemed off. I'm glad I finally made it here, but I won't be returning. If I want to spend over 100 bucks per person for dinner at Disney I will be going to Napa Rose. Still the king of fine dining at the Disney Resort. Hope the quality doesn't drop off with chef Andrew Sutton leaving Disney. I guess we will have to go to find out. read more

This place was on my bucket list, I went once in October 2025 and again last week. I had to see if it was a fluk, haha ! Nope it was the same if not better. The restaurant is inside a theatre replication and it takes you back to the twenties. Where else would you go to a 4 star restaurant dressed in T-shirts and jeans? Only Disney brings you the respect even if you aren't dressed correctly! The wait staff is Amazing and keeps you entertained, Jay was sweet and kept checking on us , while refilling our magical water glasses! The food was amazing from the apps to the main courses, my daughter and I had to share because we wanted to try the dishes. I have a few pictures but No we didn't eat all this at one seating it was for two different meals. The drinks were made perfectly and increased the joy of the meal. The thick pork chops are seared and cooked to a juicy, moist, flavorful bite and the veg underneath was sweetened by the berries and exactly what it needed for a perfect bite. The scallop and shrimp pasta was a little spicy not hot just right and the noodles were cooked to tender bite. This pasta and pork chop are the best I've ever had. What a wonderful, special experience. We waited a bit for our table and perused the menu outside. We were seated upstairs in a private room with a cozy booth. The artwork and ambiance around the entire restaurant was classic and timeless, very Old Hollywood. We sat in the Buena Vista room. Carthay Circle Restaurant at DCA is a beautiful spot with so much ambiance and history--definitely a classic Disney experience. We ordered a few dishes and overall enjoyed the meal. The Peruvian sashimi of hiramasa yellowtail was good, though I've had better elsewhere. The shrimp & calamari fritto miso was my favorite dish of the night--lightly battered, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. The garganelli pasta with blue lump crab and basil pesto was solid as well; good flavor and a generous amount of shrimp. The pear martini was hands down one of the best I've had. Super refreshing and not overly sweet. We ended up having a late lunch by accident right before and were a bit rushed since we had to check in for the World of Color dessert party, so I feel like we couldn't fully enjoy the experience. That said, I'd definitely come back again when I'm not full and can take my time. The ambiance alone makes it worth another visit. read more

One of my favorite places to sit and grab a bite to eat and have a cocktail. There is plenty of seating inside and outside (great for people watching). The drink variety is great (vodka martini with blue cheese stuffed olives and the awesome ice sphere is one of my favorites). The food for me is hot and miss. I do wish they would bring their cheese/charcuterie board back. Everything must change though which isn't always a bad thing. My son enjoys the pasta dishes a lot. The menu rotates per season usually. Prices are around the same as the surrounding restaurants in the area. Overall enjoyable and the staff is always on point. We've eaten at Carthay Circle Restaurant twice now while visiting Disney California Adventure, most recently on 2025 NYE. Both times we left full and very happy. The restaurant itself has a vibe as if you're entering another time, with beautiful decor both upstairs and downstairs. The sweet potato Parker House rolls are always a great start and I highly recommend you save room for two desserts. The staff is always very attentive and friendly, the menu has a lot of variety, and the drinks do not disappoint. While walking upstairs, the fancy ambiance was felt. The decor was really nice. Felt old school, like a 1940s place. There was a wine bouquet along with portraits on the walls displaying retro Disney. As we were greeted by our server, adult beverages were ordered. Wine and Bloody mary. Ordered main entrees. Received our Main entrees within a 15 minute time frame. Service was prompt and friendly. Fresh and Delicous! Overall no complaints. This place is nice for / Brunch dinner dates. Such a solid dinner spot inside Disneyland if you want something elevated without feeling stuffy. The ambiance is classic, warm, and very "old Hollywood," which makes it feel like a true sit-down escape from the park chaos. I had the Tequila Daisy and it was perfect light, delicate, not overly sweet, and super refreshing! One of those cocktails you finish way too fast because it's well balanced. Huge appreciation for how thoughtful they are with food intolerances. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, easy to talk to, and made the whole process seamless without making it feel complicated. I felt genuinely taken care of Food-wise, everything hit: - Roasted winter mushroom & gnocchi. It was cozy, flavorful, and comforting without being heavy - Roasted Brussels sprouts - crispy, well seasoned, and addictive (I could have eaten 10 plates of this) - Sustainable fish cioppino - fresh, rich, and deeply satisfying! My partner and I loved the dish more than we even thought we would! Honestly loved everything we ordered. The food felt refined, intentional, and actually worth sitting down for which isn't always the case inside a theme park. The butternut squash soup was not as creamy as I am accustomed to, plus I wasn't expecting the chicken. Guess I didn't read the description, but the blintz my daughter had was fantastic ( see menu in photo). I had the braised short rib pasta which was excellent, as was my husband's chicken schnitzel . Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney California Adventure is one of those places I really want to love more than I actually do. The setting is beautiful and it definitely feels elegant for a theme park restaurant. The food is good, but for me it never quite reaches the level that matches the price tag. I understand that higher prices come with dining inside the park, but most of the menu items just are not compelling enough for me to justify regular visits. It's nice for a special occasion or a slower park day, but it's not somewhere I personally feel drawn back to very often. read more

Carthay Circle is one of the better dining experiences inside Disneyland. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels classy and elegant, yet still welcoming. The service was outstanding. The bread, mashed potatoes, and pork chop were very good. The steak wasn't bad.The cocktails were good as well. If you're looking for a meal to break up your park day or to celebrate something special, Carthay Circle is absolutely worth it. This is your high-end restaurant without the business casual located in Disney California Adventure. I see many visitors on here not able to be seated at a table upstairs. A hint on getting a table at the top floor with the gorgeous interior, is to reserve early. Through the app, reservations are opened 60 days ahead. There are two different reservations, you have to choose Carthay Circle Restaurant and not Carthay Circle Lounge. The earlier you reserve, the more time slots to choose from. I would recommend planning 30 days ahead, the earlier the better. Reservation does get fully booked as the days get closer. The server was very informative and tentative. The food and drinks were delicious. Everything was great. Experience was wonderful. Great atmosphere for dining after a long day in the parks. read more

Ambiance This is a reproduction of a famous restaurant which hosted Disney premiers during the Golden Age of Hollywood. Hosted Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs December 21, 1937. The architecture is phenomenal and this place is majestic. Got seated on the patio. Service Scott was great. I wanted a unique cocktail and he recommended the Tequila Daisy and for dinner the Pork Chop. We had reservation, hostess could not find it however we were seated anyway. Rate 5 Rose Pedal Soda Refreshing sparkling soda has a sugar coated rose peddle. Tequila Daisy Cointreau, creme de violette liqueur, egg white served up, coated rose pedal, spirit forward. All I can say is wow. Rate 5 Peruvian Sashimi of Haramsama Yellowtail I love sushi with yellowtail so I thought I would try this. Has leche de tigre, j-cama, and crispy cancha. Lots of flavors and textures I liked it alot. Rate 5 Plating was a work of art. Hangar Streak This was disappointing. It was not hot, a little tough, over cooked ordered medium rare. My wife stated 'yuck, dry and gamey'. Don't order this. Waiter did try to steer us away from it. The corn chowder and blueberry poblano salsa very good. I would have ordered seafood pasta but don't care for basil pesto and the option for a different sauce was not available. Rate 2 Pork Chop This was thick, so moist and tender. Had glazed peaches on top. Delicious. Sauteed zucchini. This was probably one of the best pork chops I have ever had. Rate 10 Mashed Potatoes Very good, creamy and full of flavor. This is our favorite restaurant in California Adventure. So much so, we dined there for lunch and dinner during our most recent trip. They offer only a $62 2-course Prix fixe menu for lunch. Our server was great and personable, helping us with the meal options. His recommendations were spot on! Loved the burata toast, gochujang-honey glazed shrimp, and the tri tip. Flavors were amazing! Only downside to our lunch experience was the extra long wait to get seated. We checked in with the app, and still don't get seated til 15 minutes our reserved time. The check in process seemed a bit hectic with everyone waiting around outside and staff hunting for parties. For our dinner experience, we loved all of the dishes we picked! Enjoyed the calamari, sashimi, garganelee pasta, fish of the day, and their cheddar rolls. To finish off our meal, we ordered the peach hand pie and they surprised our daughter with a special birthday touch. Their service was awesome, always topping off beverages, replacing silverware, and being courteous. The dining areas were a bit chilly though. Always love to return and see what new seasonal changes they make to their menus. read more

Located inside Disney California Adventure, where there is a restaurant seating and a lounge. I visited the restaurant this time as it was my first stop before I got moving about the park. From the greeting to the goodbye, everything was top tier! It was my first time visiting and it wont be the last for sure. I also want to try out the lounge area. The aesthetic gave me Lawry's Beverly Hills vibes inside. I was amazed! Sadly I forgot to take a picture of the braised short rib raviolis but it was amazing just like the salad and dessert. read more

Wow! Took me by surprise! Wasn't expecting this type of quality of food at an amusement park! To start off service was excellent (given this restaurant is at CA Adventure Park). Food was fairly decent. Just glad I didn't have to eat generic tasteless hamburgers or fries sold at the stands. Sat out at the patio chilling enjoying the view and the people. read more
