I was fine with it and then had the service done. I paid and left. When I got home, I looked over the bill and saw that it was higher than what was quoted through Yelp for the pads. I contacted the owner and he said that he gave me a verbal quote and then said he gave me better pads( which is not reflected on the invoice or told to me prior to the work was done) and then went back to he gave me a verbal quote for the difference in price. The verbal quote he told me he gave was not even the price he charged me. Overall the service was good and quick. The quoting and charging was my issue. I will take ownership that I didn't inspect the final invoice before paying but I still think that the business owner should have honored his original quote and if an upgraded part was used and was billed (according to the owner) then should be approved beforehand.

As it goes being a parent I was trying to do too many things at once and life happens. None the less Hrant was very understanding of the situation and did his best to prioritize getting my car in ASAP the next day due to an upcoming trip on my end. I showed up bright and early, his team took a look at my car, did a test drive and fixed my issue all under an hour! Hrant let me know that the issue was a loose nut that could have lead to a dangerous situation on the road. They fixed things up and charged a very fare rate given how quickly they got me in, addressed the issue and how good the customer service was. Not only did he address every concern I had, he also stayed after closing to diagnose the problem for free. He took out some tools and electrical meters to assess the issue. He made a few adjustments that stopped the electrical from glitching, explained to me in plain English what was happening and said to drive it for a few days to see if everything was ok. I paid my bill and made an appointment for other problems I noticed with my car. It's nice to go to someone that cares about your safety with the quality work that they do at Del Mar Auto. I was charged $688 for a muffler and 2.25 straight pipe install. I was told that the muffler was a…read more50 series Flow Master for $180. After I pickup my supra I noticed the exhaust sound wasn't consistent which Flow Master and lifted the car to discover a generic no brand muffler and very poor welded job. When I confronted Omar, he said that despite my muffler not saying it was a Flow Master. I called Flowmaster the company to confirm, and they let me know they do not create Flowmaster mufflers without the Flowmaster brand emblem. Advance Muffler also had installed a 'magma flow" muffler on my son's Acura Integra a few months back so I also lifted his car to find that his muffler was also generic with no brand markings. I spoke to Omar about the situation and he refunded my Supra install and stated he is not a muffler guy and didn't know. I believe this shop often claims to sell you brand name mufflers, like Flowmaster at a premium price and installs generic no name mufflers not expecting customers to ever check.

Here is what happened, I contacted him in November about doing the wheel bearing on my Toyota Avalon as it was making a ton of horrible noise he suggested doing both front ones at the same time I was in agreement with this. I asked him if I brought in the bearings that I wanted to use he was fine with this. The day of the project I dropped off the car and everything and went about my day. I got a call from him mid to late morning telling me that I needed a "NEW CV Axel shaft because mine broke" CV Axel shafts do not "MAGICALLY" break on their own. He told me that it did and I needed to replace it or the car would not be able to be reassembled. _____________________________________________________________ Couple months after I took my car to get the tires rotated at a place near my home, and the shop brought to my attention that my front lug nuts were fully destroyed. Whom ever took the front wheels off last time they just allowed the nuts to hit the ground which caused a lot of external physical damage to them. As a result of all of this I would NOT trust Joe Demerjian with anything again.
