These guys are great. They get the job done in a quick and professional manner. They have made two house calls for me, took care of my problems and left me feeling confident that they did the best job possible. Reasonable pricing for house calls. Steve, the owner, was meticulous when doing the jobs requested. We have had a few problems with our sliders and it has been a multiple trip job as the items weren't in stock but the work is superb. I'm all for supporting small businesses. They are personal, attentive, and honest. Support them! You wont be disappointed. read more

After a very quick call, Steve came very promptly (less than 10 min!) and got straight to business. My locks gave him a bit of a run for his money but gave in just as he was about to get frustrated. He was very friendly and answered all my questions. Thank you, Steve! I'll call again if I ever get any lock problems! read more

I had an excellent experience with Pasadena Lock Shop today. I needed all the locks on my doors changed plus a key made for my garage made as soon as possible. They offered to have someone come over in an hour. The locksmith arrived right on time. He got right to work and was polite and respectful. He did good quality work and worked quickly. He made a key for my garage without using a copy and gave me a couple of extra keys with no extra charge. I couldn't be happier with the service I received. I highly recommend this company. read more

Prompt, punctual, professional - also, very responsive and friendly! I emailed Steve on a Sunday afternoon in regards to re-keying the front door locks to my condo. He replied immediately to each of my messages. I also ended up speaking to Andre when I called the office number on Monday morning. He was very helpful over the phone and I am 200% happy with overall customer service. The re-keying job itself took only about 20 minutes. Support your local Pasadena business! read more

After another company came out and ruined my vintage door and molding to try unsuccessfully to open a locked door, Steve showed up and got it open in no time. He also expressed sympathy for the damage done by the first person and advised me to bill that company for the repair (I am). He even came back later with a vintage piece to replace my broken mechanism. Nicest, most personable guy too. Won't be going anywhere else! read more

I got the key stuck and broke on the door I tried my DIY skills and failed. I found Pasadena Lock Shop on Yelp under locksmith. I messaged the site and had a message back in five minutes. I love Pasadena for all it's locally owned businesses, but never expected to need to add a locksmith on the roster. I requested a quote through yelp from a few local businesses who were opened on a Saturday afternoon the day after my key broke inside my deadbolt lock and Pasadena Lock Shop came through with a quick response and a very reasonable quote. Expecting to wait for at least an hour on a Saturday afternoon on a holiday weekend, Steve kept in constant contact with me with an ETA. Twenty-five minutes later from calling to confirm, I was back inside my apartment after being locked out overnight. Definitely recommend this team as much as I don't recommended cheap keys! Super reliable, friendly, and they'll help in a stressful situation. read more

Steve was great. He came by in less than 15 minutes to get my family back into the home. He had to order parts for my door so he came back a few days later. He kept his original quote even though he had to make two trips and did extra work. read more

Needed keys cut, this place was open! The man who works there made 2 beautiful keys that worked and it cost me 5 dollars and they took my credit card, which I appreciated because I know its expensive for merchants to take cards for small amounts. Will be back! read more

I originally called our normal locksmith when I needed to get an old lock picked, because my cat got locked inside our wall cabinet and my husband had the keys he accidentally took with him to work. It would have taken me almost 2 hours to go back and forth to get the key. Our locksmith referred me to Pasadena Lock Shop because of the old lock barrel - they didn't have the person who works on older locks scheduled to work that day. I didn't get the young man's name from Pasadena Lock Shop that answered the phone and helped me, but I'm so thankful that he was able to re-arrange his schedule to come out to my house on short notice, knowing my cat was locked inside that cabinet. He was very professional and kind and it only took him a few minutes to get that lock picked! You you saved the day and Lily (my cat) and I thank you! You have won a customer over today! read more

Very friendly and extremely quick service. Never have an issue getting in and out .. full faith in the keys they cut that they'll work the first and every time read more

I had a last minute lock issue and PLS came out the next day. I needed a new cylinder in an antique door knob and a new set of keys. I had called a different locksmith and they told me they didn't think they could fix it. After conferring with their "field" tech they came back with a price that was 30% more. Why I gave PLS 5 Stars 1. Quick response 2. Able to assess the lock via the photo I texted 3. Came out the next day and was able to set a new cylinder for the knob within a few hours 4. Reasonably priced for the complexity and the immediacy. 5. Showed up when they said they would. read more

Nick came out to my home. He was very prompt, professional, and friendly. He gave me honest advice about the concerns/questions I had. Very reasonably priced. Nick was done in 10-15 minutes! PLS is the real deal. Reliable, trustworthy, quality work from friendly and genuine people. Would definitely recommend and use them again. read more

Pasadena Lock Shop is awesome! I used the Yelp quote to a couple of locksmiths and Steve's quick responses and directness was what eventually made me decide to pick him. Everyone else I contacted had reluctance in their responses and a much higher price than Steve's quote. And they would take longer to reply than Steve did! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Steve to anyone who needs help with a lock! Keep up the good work! read more

Pasadena Lock Shop - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Pasadena, California

Steve came out on the same day I called in to have locks re-keyed. He is professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He made sure the locks opened and closed properly. I would not hesitate to recommend him and do business with him again. read more

I have an old 1924 house that needed some work done on its door. I called Pasadena Lock Shop and spoke to the owner, Steve. We agreed on an appointment day and time. He was very prompt, in fact, came a little early. He looked at the locking system and told me immediately what it needed. He began to get himself ready to do the work. However, I had to stop him because I was getting some major work done in the room the door was located, and the workers were planning on removing the door to sand and finish it. They told me the door would be ready in two days. Steve could have been upset to have to make a second trip to my house, but he kindly and professionally understood the situation and agreed to return. He did, however, remove a mechanism that was suspect in order to take it to his shop. While working on it, he realized that it would have to be replaced, so he called me to ask for my approval. When he returned, he was on time - actually, early again. He began working to install the replacement part and the rest of the lock. As with old hardware, he needed to adjust and readjust. Scrape and rescrape. Tug and pull and twist and drill in order to get the mechanism to work like new. I showed him that when the door was closed hard, the door would fail to latch, so he fixed that. I showed him that when the door was closed, it would still shimmy instead of sit firmly in its place. He fixed that. Finally, in order to get my key to work better, he replaced the keyhole. All along as he was working, I could tell he had an appreciation for the age of my house and what it represented. It's not an "historic" house, but it does have character. Because of that, it seemed important to him to make sure the hardware and the work befitted the house. I feel strongly about the power of word of mouth when it comes to businesses and craftspeople. There are so many rip-off artists out there or people who treat customers as though they should be glad that the worker deigned to work for them. Steve was not like that at all. He was honest, respectful, diligent, and mindful. I would call for the services of Pasadena Lock Shop any day, and I would have full confidence that Steve would act in my best interest. read more

nice - warm & helpful. I recommend pasadena lock shop !

I called to get a couple sets of keys copied when the owner was about to step out of the shop. He agreed to wait for me before leaving. Not only was the entire process less than 5 minutes, the price was unbeatable! I don't recall how much he charged me but it was definitely less than those key boxes that you see at Home Depot. And once I was on my merry way, I realized he was actually closing up shop for the day and still made it a point to wait for me! Service like that rarely exists nowadays. Plus he accepted credit card payment for less than 5$! A++ read more

Had been having an ongoing problem with the front door knob. Meant to get it fixed. Finally, called Pasadena Lock Shop due to all the positive reviews here on Yelp (thanks, Yelpers!) Steve Curren is honest, fast, reliable, and fairly priced. I called him after a terrible encounter with a sham locksmith company called 24/7 locksmith (877) 512-7722. Do not use them! They will quote you one thing over the phone then jack up the price when they arrive with bogus reasons. Total frauds. Anyway, after getting rid of that guy, I called Steve and he was able to assist me very quickly. Highly recommend. read more

What was a relatively simple task of installing new locks on a house and garage and rekeying all of them to the same key, turned into an abandoned, half-finished job without any follow up from PLS regarding its completion. In retrospect, my crucial mistake in dealing with PLS was: (a) allowing PLS to special order a knob set when what I wanted (and thought I was getting) was readily available at Home Depot; and (b) putting too much faith in the vendor to handle their business while being distracted with mine. PLS is probably fine for making duplicate keys and what not, but I would strongly urge you to either provide your own parts when contracting them to do an installation or otherwise be prepared to stay on them like a vulture over roadkill. read more
