We needed some keys made for our new house and stopped into Altadena Lock & Key so we could get a few copies. We were greeted immediately upon entering by a friendly sales associate who showed us which keys would be compatible. The only critique is that there were waaay more key selections for the SC1 than the KW1 which was a bummer but I did get a leopard print key that looks cool! It was pretty cheap per key so if you need copies, I would definitely come here! It was really fast. read more

I would say one of the best services I have ever received from a keysmith service & mobile. I needed to change my keys. I believe his name was Manny. Not only did he help with the keys, he used a harder code to copy. I will never go anywhere else, even just to copy a key. I will support your business until I die. Manny also was on the news for helping and donating his time to locals that needed help! (Eaton fires). A++++++* business! read more

The true sign of a business owner that does what they do as a labor of love is how they help others in times of need. Altadena just saw horrible devastation due to the Eaton Fire and Manny has been going around helping people by providing keys to their vehicles. He's shown exemplary customer service and has even offered you do so at no cost for these people that have lost everything. He is using his time to provide these services quickly and efficiently in a time when people could really use the help. Next time I'm in need of a locksmith, Manny will be my go to. read more

Manuel at Altadena Lock & Key quoted me the best price out of 6 local locksmiths and was quick to arrive when I had locked my keys in my truck. He came with a big smile and was very professional. Thank you for your honest and fair/priced service to the community! Would recommend over and over again! read more

I just got a car that came with only 1 key. I ordered a replacement key online and was able to program the chip myself. It comes with a physical key as a backup and this key is laser cut. I looked around everywhere to get the blank cut to match the laser cut key. I drove by Altadena lock and key and decided to stop in. They asked $40 (I read people can find places to get it done $30-$40). The price was fair and I was already there. It took a little under 5 mins. I tested it and it was a perfect match on the car. Got this checked off my list. Friendly service. Convenient location for me. If I need another copy, I would come back read more

The kindest people. And they have been so helpful to so many of our neighbors during the fires last January. Thank you so much -- finding a reliable locksmith in a tough situation is such a nightmare, but they truly have come through for the community. read more

I have been here twice in the last 6 months and both times I was happy with the outcome. The first time I needed help getting into a safe that we lost the key to and the second time was today and I needed to have a spare key made for a Tundra which needs a special key with a chip. Pricing is fair and they are all very welcoming. read more

My wife and I were delivering our first born child during the Eaton Fire. We watched our home burn to the ground from our hospital room and as we were being discharged we had no idea on what to do next. All our personal possessions went up in flames and were blessed enough to be taken in by family. Once I had the chance to get back to the burned house I was amazed that my 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee did not burn, only a melted tire and broken window was the only damage, but the key was in the house. We were able to find the key melted and Manuel was able to make a new one for me. He is such a blessing in our time of need after this tragedy and I am thankful for the amazing service he is providing to me and to the Altadena community. read more

Altadena Lock & key - Garbage! Didn't even tell us about quality of wood, and we have to get this fixed AGAIN. - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Pasadena, California

We called for our locks the door handle was broken. They come very quickly and fixed all problems with the locks for us.

After calling around numerous locksmiths, I was fortunate to find AL&K. Edward was able to laser cut a replacement emergency key for my '08 Volvo, which is a rare find. FYI: You'll get a quote faster if you call rather than requesting a quote via Yelp. read more

This guy is amazing. He's been wreaking everybody's house since the fire and he hasn't stopped and he did my house again after some weird thing happened with somebody who needed to be away. read more

The only locksmith I trust! Amazing pricing and great service. Will refer everyone I know!

If you expect excellent customer service service, don't go here. Had a less than exceptional time when we questioned charges on the receipt with hidden fees. The person (young man) working became highly agitated and argumentative. Very disappointed! read more

I have unusual door keys, which Altadena L & K carries! Yay! Edward's very helpful and efficient and , yes, the new keys work.

What Manuel's doing for others during their time of need is commendable. May God bless this man and his business always! Definitely plan to use Altadena lock & key if I ever need these services read more

I'm bummed to write this review. Altadena Lock & Key has been our go-to locksmith for 25 years. They've re-keyed every house we've had in that time. I would have (and have) highly recommended them until now. We recently purchased a new house and needed all the locks rekeyed. I stopped into the store on Monday and made an appointment for today, Friday. We drove out to the house and waited two hours. No show. So we called and asked what's up. The guy told us that because the boss was out of town, he made the appointment (not true, the appointment was made a young man who was tending the store on Monday), and forgot to put it on the calendar. Way to throw your boss under the bus. The guy on the phone blamed the boss and said they'd come back around 2:30pm. Not awesome, but we needed to get this done. We left, had some lunch, and returned. Once again, no one showed up and no one called. Around 4:30pm, I called to check in again, was told they were "slammed." The guy who answered said he was going to get the boss on the phone to talk to me, the one that was supposedly on vacation. I waited five minutes and then he hung up on me. It was obvious they didn't just place the receiver on the base. It was slammed down. Sadly, it appears Altadena Lock & Key has gone down hill. This is extremely unprofessional and rude. I'm really disappointed and was willing to give them a chance considering our long history, but I really don't appreciate being treated like this. We wasted an entire day waiting for them only to be stood up, lied to, and then hung up on. Looks like we must find a new locksmith. This is no way to run a business. read more

My mom is locked out of her garage and called this place. She waited and waited and waited several hours for them to show up. They never did and called hours later and said they got stuck on an emergency. So she made an appointment for the next day which was today. Again...no show...no call...no apology...no nothing...which earns them A BAD REVIEW!! No one has time in their day to wait around for you AL&K!! read more

I loved the customer service from one of the workers, but this OTHER man a whole b!itch that always wears a fkn black shirt thinking he's the shit, thinking he's so ON, has HORRIBLE customer service and had the nerve to acknowledge me and yet he did not attend me. Acted like he was doing something in the back when I CLEARLY saw that back space is like 3 ft wide, with no sh!t for him to do. But overall I'll give the store a 3.5/5 cause the other guy was very amicable and kind. read more

Very nice work, easy, responsive, and punctual. Appreciate all the work. Thank you! The keys work great

Manuel, the owner of this business, is a super competent and kind person. He fixed the lock on my front door 1936 and it is perfect again. I would recommend this man and his business 100% or more. It was a real treat to see how organized his van was to be able to fix any kind of key or lock problem in existence, I have just recommended him to two of my friends who plan on using him. The negative reviews are not about him. I found out that they were the result of somebody using his name to supposedly make repairs, but they were apparently crooks. Manuel is his honest as you can find anyone and competent. read more

I needed a door lock replaced, Manuel told me he'd be there in 45 minutes and he was. He was done about 10 minutes after that. Easy peasy very fast turnaround time for me! Highly recommend ! read more

Manuel the owner is just the best. My CRV driver side door key was damaged by attempted thieves and Honda estimated a three month wait and $580. Manuel and his team located a difficult to find key part in downtown, and installed it on after closing hours. The thief used a screwdriver and broke a cable and the cosmetic cover. All was repaired $288. I'm very appreciative. read more

Loved that the locksmith showed up in a mask, shows that safety is important to this company. I called Altadena Lock & Key to help install some locks in my residence. The work was done very well, and pretty quickly. They did show up late, but I understand it's quite difficult to run a business during COVID, so I definitely sympathize. The price was fair, and I was able to get cool key designs as well for no extra cost! :-) read more

Got charged half the price of other competitors in the area very happy with the service this will be my go to place from now on!

They were called by the HOA president. The lock to our door was broken and were unable to enter our apartment. He showed up in the time provided, was very attentive, and knowledgeable on the subject. He rebuilt the lock mechanism within a reasonable amount of time. Very happy with the results. read more

I came here with an issue with my car door! Yes a car door! My key wouldn't turn my car door key hole which means I either had to have it locked and I can't get in after that or leave my car door unlocked (2004 Honda Civic) so I was referred here by a mechanic and let me tell you the quality of experience I received from the young man behind the counter was unbelievable. This young man solved my issue for I think 60$ vs 500$ another mechanic wanted to charge me to replace the motor in the door. I highly recommend these guys real honest establishment! Bravo! it's hard to believe now a days. read more

MORE THAN DOUBLE!! Went in to get a copy of my GM key. The counter person quoted me $55 for my key and more than likely a cheap quality one. I told him that his price was more than the dealer. He pretty much seemed he didn't care. Went down to the local GM dealer and ended up paying under $25 for and original GM key. read more

Friendly and helpful just not super consistent with timeliness and following up fairly priced

Someone stole my purse over the weekend with all my keys and i needed to make some right away to get into my office. The owner is really nice and the service is very fast, the keys are not the duplicate kind but the building owner called and ave him authorization to make more. I mentioned to him that i was using my spare car key and i need to make another one, he said his son wasn't there but they can make it for me. He sent his son to my office and he made a spare car key in less than 15 mins, he only charged $80 including the programming. The keys all work great haven't had any issues with any of them. I would highly recommend their business to anyone. read more

I called 3 different places for estimates they were all around 10k -12k. Altadena lock and key gave us the best price which was half of what other lock smiths were charging. The second day after giving me an estimate he completed the job quickly. Manny was really professional and reliable. Highly recommend. Thanks manny for your good service. read more

The service person was the best of the experience. The jobs we wanted done were done correctly. However he showed up 20 minutes later than our appointment time and that's after calling them to make sure they were coming. On top of that, he had to leave to go back to the store because his battery ran out of power. The job that we were told would last an hour took about 2. Im being generous with 4 stars. read more

This has become my go to lock and key location. They have the ability to copy some obscure keys without a problem.

Great place they were able to duplicate my key quickly and at a fraction of what the dealer would have required.

I needed to get several keys made and saw this shop while I was running errands. I stopped in and spoke with Luis (sorry if I misspelled that). He said no problem and asked for the the keys I needed copies of. I asked if it would be ok if I waited in the car because I had my dog with me. He said of course! And to come back in less than 10 minutes Pros: very fast service and Luis is so friendly and kind. He made my keys really quickly and even swapped out a ring on a keychain I bought that I didn't like. It was an "easy access ring" and he changed it for a normal ring. Pretty cheap. $2-$3 a key. There is a decent selection of keychains too. Cons: none! Tips: ask for Luis! He is really polite and friendly. Park right behind the shop - the main lot can be a little packed due to the laundry mat but there are lots of spaces directly behind it. read more

I bought a Lockbox to hide a key. The man that helped me showed me all the options available. He clearly explained how to use the one I bought and made sure I was comfortable using it before I left the shop. Highly recommend. read more
