These are devious greedy predators. They are unethical and unprofessional. We were quoted the price of $45-$125 for smart locks. They charged us $900 for the locks! We looked it up--the lock cost $80 at Home Depot. Leo also charged us to rekey 6 locks. There were only 4. When we contacted the owner they said they'd had to speak to Leo. No apologies. No corrections. It has been a week and we still have no heard back. Hard for me to leave this review, while Noel was incredibly helpful (at dispatch), the technician that responded to the call crossed a line not leaving a good secure feeling He came into my house without permission. As I went to turn off my alarm he came into my house again and started to look around. This is NOT OK. He literally started to look around inside my house to see what I had. That had NOTHING to do with my lock. While he completed a job, the job ended on a bad note tainting my impression of the whole experience. That amount was acceptable but then scheduled to return the next day because they could not finish the job. They came back the next day and out in handle and spent an hour and charged $500! Told me the handle cost $90 but never produced receipt but even if it did, $410 for an hours time? All of which was in video because of the front door camera. Locked myself out of my home in the late evening on a weekday. A technician came out quickly, within 20 minutes of my call. He couldn't estimate the job over the phone, which makes sense. He got into my simple lock in just a few minutes. $350. No credit cards-cash or pay apps like Zelle only. A few awkward moments. He was able to tell me over the phone that the late night service fee was $75, in person he said $100; in fairness it's possible I misheard but I felt so certain. He asked for a gratuity. After the work was complete, on my Blink camera I saw him walk the opposite direction from the exit, then come back past my place; could have been totally innocent, perhaps I'm paranoid and he just thought there was another building exit that way, but it seemed odd. 4 stars because he arrived quickly, was pleasant, and got me into the house fast. I just got off the phone with Mark who hung up on me 3 times after cutting me off repeatedly when I was trying to ask if there were any things that could be done because I am locked out of my home at 1 am due to some freak situation. I repeatedly said that I understood it was not any fault of his but this is a 24/7 service and I am locked out of my home at 1 am and am a woman outside at night. He told me to wait outside until morning and that all the technicians were booked right now with previous appointments. I tried to explain the situation, and while frustrated, I repeatedly said I understand it's not his fault but there surely must be something that can be done- maybe a locksmith may be done with an appointment early. He cut me off and hung on me, repeating that he knew where this is going and would hang up. I understand there are limitations to what can be done but I am upset by the disrespectful and umpathetic handling of this situation, being talked over and cut off REPEATEDLY, the rude tone, and hung up on multiple times. He couldn't refer another business that was open and could help {which I get they would be competitors but like.. Your business can't help me and this is a dangerous situation. First off this is NOT South Pasadena Locksmith. Phone number is sent to a call center that farms out the job to an independent contractor. I thought I was supporting a local business but was duped. I called initially and was told the locksmith would call me right away since he was already out in the field. No one called. I called again 35 minutes later and spoke to a different woman who said she was going to call the guy, Leo, herself to return my call. I was house/dog sitting and was locked out of the ADU. I could hear the 4 lb Yorkie barking wanting to be let out of his crate. 20 minutes later he called and said he would be at the home in about 20 more minutes. Leo finally arrived and told me if he could pick the lock it would be $65 per 'pin'. He told me the door lock had six pins. He was able to pick the lock in 10 minutes and I was prepared to pay close to $400. Well the total bill was $608 after adding service fee and labor! I felt robbed and he then said he needed cash only. I did not have that much on me so he followed me to my bank so I could hand him cash. Make sure you get a price in writing before authorizing work and if Leo shows up, rethink your request. read more

Oof, the dispatch line representative had such an attitude and was very impatient with questions that I had. Not sure why it's that difficult for a highly rated company to deliver good customer service at the frontline when that's the first impression for a caller. I kept being told that I was not understanding him correctly and made to feel like I was supposed to know how the process works. I stayed calm the entire time but he still maintained an attitude and sounding more and more impatient. So I had to be the one to suggest that our communication was not working as we seemed to be misunderstanding each other. A good dispatch line should not only keep repeating that they are the dispatch line and cannot offer even any guidance on questions such as whether there is commital payment needed up front for a technician to be sent out. And even if you do not know the information, be a professional about it and communicate that respectfully/kindly. It's not that hard. On the whole call, he did not provide any helpful information for my questions about the next step. I scheduled an appointment for the next day with Ben, the owner. Unfortunately, Ben was out of town and needed to subcontract the call. The sub contractor showed up and to make a long story short, did not provide stellar service. Ben called me to check up on the service and found out my displeasure. He then scheduled to come out personally and fix whatever was not done right the first time. Ben showed up, promptly fix the problem, said thank you for your business, and added that he was not going to charge me for anything because of my inconvenience. This is what a five star reviewed company should strive to be. Ben even gave me a suggestion for the future so that I could fix the problem myself.
