I've used them for a wide range of work over the years--gates, pressure pads, standard locks, specialty cases, and most recently my motorcycle--and they've delivered every single time. I've requested their services professionally for work and personally for home. My latest visit really sealed it for me: I had a snapped key stuck in my motorcycle's gas tank. Not only were they able to extract the broken key without causing any damage, but they also copied the key on the spot. That's no small task, and very few shops even have the capability to do it and they're honest with their pricing! They're also mobile, which is a huge plus if you can't get to the shop or need help on-site. I feel really obligated to leave a review since they are just AMAZING! I came in wanting to copy a key and a key fob and they helped me right away - I got my new key in under 10 minutes! They have a huge selection of whatever you need - I went to a couple places before Foothill Lock & Key and was told that they don't have that specific type. Now onto the key fob, I contacted A BUNCH of places online prior and was told that it was not possible to duplicate that whatsoever. Nick took pictures of both the front and back of the key fob and told me he would try to contact the distributors to see if this can be copied. A couple days later I was told they can!!! AVOID!!!! Had both my car doors broken and ignition broken. Contacted them in the morning and now wish I was never recommended here!!!! Everything is "fixed", paid $850. My ignition now does NOT have all its capabilities, both doors still do not work. My keyless entry no longer works. When I went back to address the issues, they called back 2 hours later and said its a different part and I need to buy that now. Some how the door locks broke the actuators. The actuator still working fine after I fixed the "issue" He never replaced the items he listed on initial quote. Left broken door handles only replaced cylinders. Broke my interior door panel and tried to say it was already broken. I had the window replaced last month and had no such issue! Tried to charge me another $1k for actuators for both doors. Ignition parts $60 to $80 - charged $350!!! Door lock cylinders kit $180 per kit of 2 cylinders. - Charged $250 a door!!!! If my house and tools didnt burn....I would have done this myself. Done it before. TOTAL RIP OFF find another locksmith. read more

Our house has an old safe bolted into the ground that needed to be reprogrammed with a code. Nick was very responsive over Yelp and the technician arrived on time. They were both very honest about what we needed and that they didn't recommend getting a new safe since the one we have is great and functioning despite its old age. The technician knew exactly what he was doing and was able to figure out how to program it efficiently and correctly. The only thing that made me deduct one star was that the technician smoked right before entering our house and smelled like cigarette smoke which caused our room to smell too. He also didn't remove his shoes, so I felt it was a bit unprofessional. Other than that, he was very nice and skilled and I would still recommend them to anyone. read more

We were getting our new, solid wood front door installed last week and wanted to reuse our antique Yale mortise lock and handleset. Our contractor didn't have the proper equipment to install it and said we would have to buy a similar looking lockset but brand new, which defeats the purpose of maintaining the character of an older home. We urgently called around to at least 15 locksmiths in the area. A bunch of them weren't available same day nor did they have the experience to install an old lock like ours. The ones that did quoted us anywhere from $650-900. Finally we were able to get in touch with Foothill. They provided us with a much more reasonable quote and Paul was able to come that afternoon. Within 4 hours (it's a labor intensive job), he had everything properly installed. Paul was knowledgeable, experienced, and thorough. We were definitely impressed and you can tell he has an appreciation for craftsmanship like we do. Highly recommend Foothill.
