Had been having an ongoing problem with the front door knob. Meant to get it fixed. Finally, called Pasadena Lock Shop due to all the positive reviews here on Yelp (thanks, Yelpers!) Set up a time for one of their locksmiths to come over and assess the problem. Locksmith-extraordinaire Steve showed up and got right to it. Friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Within a few minutes, he was installing a replacement and re-keyed the new lock so we wouldn't have to carry multiple keys around. These guys are great. Would recommend them to anyone. read more

I am beyond pleased with the speed & precision of Steve's work. I also enjoyed my chat with the office manager setting up my appointment & understanding my requested services. I will recommend Pasadena Lock Shop to everyone I know & if the time comes I need locksmith services again I will most certainly use them. read more

Intimate store with the service and vibe that puts those big boys to shame. I am a strong believer in supporting local businesses. These guys bring serious game to the table. Justin was the absolute best. Warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. He made me feel completely at home, because I tend to feel a little overwhelmed in these types of stores. read more

Steve Curren is honest, fast, reliable, and fairly priced. I called him after a terrible encounter with a sham locksmith company called 24/7 locksmith (877) 512-7722. Do not use them! They will quote you one thing over the phone then jack up the price when they arrive with bogus reasons. Total frauds. Anyway, after getting rid of that guy, I called Steve and he was able to assist me very quickly. Highly recommend. read more

Locked myself out of my apartment this morning like a bonehead. Pasadena Lock Shop to the rescue! Steve came over in minutes and was not only professional and efficient but also reassuring and friendly. Even went the extra mile by re-installing my old door knob so it was actually the right way up lol. Fantastic service, would recommend to everyone in the area. Thanks guys! read more

You usually can't go wrong with long established businesses with the name "Pasadena" in them and this truth was confirmed yet again with Pasadena Lock Shop. I've driven past it for years and was so happy to give them some work. Steve showed up super fast and diagnosed the issue, told me all about the locks I have and suggested ways to improve the lock matrix of my house and explained all the other locks in the house. He gave me a quote on the phone and went far beyond my expectations. Hiring people like this who are honest, efficient, professional and friendly makes all the difference in the world. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

This is a 5 star review because of the great service, responsiveness and reasonable price. Steve diagnosed the problem quickly and did a great job. Best locksmith I've worked with, highly recommended! read more

The entire Pasadena Lock Shop crew helped save the day! Our old mortise lock system had failed, and we went through 2 other locksmiths who tried their best, but didn't know how to fix a mortise lock. See Wikipedia on Mortise lock http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortise_lock From Andre, to Nick, to the owner Steve, they took the time to come over and remove the old lock, and then fix it with their amazing inventory of classic mortise lock hardware parts. Steve even came over on a Saturday to help install the repaired hardware and made sure everything was done right. Two big thumbs up !! read more

I took our 1930 front door mortise lock to PLS to have a couple of broken springs replaced (they will come to the house but I was able to remove it myself via YouTube videos). They said leave it with us for an hour and a half, but within half hour I got a call to collect it. Works great now. Thanks PLS! read more

Locking yourself out is possibly the worst thing that can happen to you, post shower with only a towel to your name. I was able to use a neighbors computer and get on yelp and call Pasadena Lock Smith. They were very responsive and got here in 15 minutes! After mentioning yelp, I also received a discount so that was sweet! read more

I've used Pasadena Lock Shop twice now and have been extremely happy with each time. The first time Steve was able to give me a quote within an hour or so and meet me after work (~6pm same day) to re-key my locks. He was even able to work in the dark without hesitation because my power was out when he stopped by (but that's a different story). He just put on a head lamp and did what he needed to do. Same experience the second time when it came to putting in a new lock and key for my mailbox. Quote within an hour and a new lock and key same day. Fair quotes (a little less expensive than average) and excellent service. read more

I was turned down by a couple locksmiths in the area because none of them were able to make a copy of the key I requested (very small desk key). I was about to give up until I came across Pasadena Lock Shop. Shot them a message, got a quick response, went to the shop, and got my impossible key copied! They care about their customers, no matter how small the job is. Excellent service indeed. read more

Messed up scheduling system: they never reply to confirm your appointment, and then blame you for not receiving the voice mail they claim they left. Inconsistant service: One time they didn't charge extra for "special" keys, and everthing was standard; another time, they charge you or literally ask you to pick up the key from their store yourself, just because they happened to not have the key in their van and don't want to make the second trip. I pay you $$ service fee and you don't even deliver the key once you are done your service? There are many good rating lock shops in the area, go try some one else. read more

I needed four doors that needed to be changed and Nick was fast and efficient. I had some issues with a door were it was closing properly and fixed the issue easily. I called that morning for availability and booked me the same day without a problem. Pls support your local businesses and appreciate there hard work! Thank you!! read more

Another solid 5 stars. Showed up in 5 mins. I locked myself out again, and this time I locked myself out of my house AND inside behind the gate. BAH! I got a stool like a weirdo and stood hovering over my gate waiting for Pasadena lock to arrive and sure enough, Steve saves the day! You guys rule! read more

This is the best shop around. The lock on my front door broke and I couldn't get into my house. I called this place and Steve was at my door 20 mins later. Within 10 mins. everything was repaired and working perfect. Thanks PLS!! read more

If I could give 6 stars I would! Andre was fantastic! I brought him a rare lock with a lost key. Prior to this, many many lock shops and locksmiths in San Diego and LA had turned me away. I didn't even have the lock brand. Andre not only had several of my type of lock in stock for cheaper than I could find on the internet, but he did even better. He was able to disassemble my lock and make a key in an hour for an extremely fair price. I'm ecstatic!!!!! read more

I was very impressed by Steve and his professionalism. I sent a message on here to him and he responded within minutes. He even responded after hours, which really surprised me. I had originally scheduled for him to come out and rekey the deadbolt on my front door for 5:30pm but on accident, I locked myself out of my own bedroom. Understanding my predicament, he came out around 11:00am instead and not only unlocked my bedroom but also did it for free--and then proceeded to rekey the deadbolt, giving me four keys to it. read more

I had an issue with 3 of my apartment room doors. The door lock and strike plate would not meet, thus making it impossible to lock the door or let it stay closed. Steve from Pasadena Lock Shop was on time and fixed all the three doors in less than 5 minutes. He also was very particular to clean up after drilling the metal shavings off the carpet. It showed that he really cared about his customers. I have been going to the shop in E Walnut St to get all my keys duplicated for the past 2.5 years. I highly recommend them as they are extremely courteous, professional and can fix almost anything. Thank you Pasadena Lock Shop :) read more

It is with a heavy heart that we post this. We live in a society where the quality of life is spiraling down. Yet the quality of our understanding and technology is rocketing skyward. Today we can buy a lockset at HomeDepot for the same price that Pasadena Lock Shop pays wholesale. It takes a sincere commitment to patronize small businesses in our community to keep the quality of life up--but it takes two. The other part of the that sincere commitment requires that, that small business MUST support it's clientele. After faithfully dealing with this business for forty years--yes, I bought my first key when I was 18--they can no longer be recommended. This business has a hard time keeping quality people. In our latest experience, a newly cut key did not work, the lock smith's solution was to manhandle the key with a pair of visegrips. When it was clear that all that was necessary was to alter the shoulder of the key about .010" . Additionally the brass key was clamped in a vise with teeth ruining the faces of the key. The smith was impatient, insecure and overly aggressive exactly the opposite of what you would expect in a smith. In all likely hood we will return to support the PLS, but if the same smith is there, we will leave a quickly as we came in. We are sorry. read more

Great service. I needed to rekey 4 locks and install 2 deadbolts. I reached out via Yelp for a quote and Steven responded within 5 minutes (while he was at the Dodger game). He asked me several questions about hardware and type of locks, to which I could not answer, but he was able to bring several options to the house the next day. He arrived on time and finished all the work within an hour. I will be reaching out again for sure in-home safe installation! Thanks Steve! read more

After my home security was compromised (my keys stolen in a car break-in) I needed my locks re-done as quickly as possible for peace of mind. I got multiple quotes, and in the end opted for these guys - and Steve's service was excellent in every measurable way. Really nice guy, too. I highly recommend. read more

This was the 2nd time I have used them, the 1st time for new lock installation, this time for a sticky, very hard to turn deadbolt on a different lock. Just like the first time, he was punctual, professional, meticulous. Rate was fair. I am very happy and will definitely use in the future. read more

We have a Schlage Encore smart lock on our garage door that was installed less than a year go. Due to where the mortise was originally cut in the wood frame, the bolt would rub against the wood depending on the weather. Eventually, the bolt completely broke. We were unable to open the door as the bolt broke in the lock position. So, we found Steve on Yelp with these awesome reviews and contacted him. He responded almost immediately and after messaging back and forth about the problem, he came out to the house, diagnosed the problem and unlocked the door at no charge. He told us that if we could get a replacement part to let him know and he would come back out to install it or he could find us a replacement part himself and install. We contacted Schlage and they immediately sent out a replacement part under warranty. As soon as we got the part, he came out the same day, fixed the mortise, installed the new bolt, sent us videos that it worked perfectly (made some comment about our Teslas leaving dirty water stains on our garage floor.. and that he would take it up w the main man -EM- if that was truly the case.. hahaha) and we Venmo'd him his reasonable rate (other locksmiths were going to charge way more for just diagnostics) for his service! We now have his number as one of our contacts and will refer him without hesitation. read more

EXCELLENT service Was actually able have a nice conversation while he was making my copies. Very nice and friendly as well. read more

Pasadena Lock Shop is excellent. You don't get high ratings by that many people on accident. I called to get my locks switched out and the job was done within the next few hours AND at a decent price. The specialist who came by was a taller guy (forgot his name) but he was very professional, polite, and also explained everything about locks/keys very well. The part that really convinced me about the Pasadena Lock Shop was the next day I realized one of my doors wasn't closing because the lock wasn't catching. When I called the shop about the issue, without questions they sent the same guy to get it fixed within the day. No questions asked and no extra charges; they did it out of good will and because they are a quality business. I would recommend this spot to any of my close friends/family in the area. read more

I can not say enough good things about this lock shop. We just recently changed the hardware on all of our doors including the front door. After coming home from a meeting I found my key would not work so I called Pasadena Lock Shop and Spoke to Steve, the owner. Not only was he extremely pleasant and professional, he told me he could be at my house in 20 minutes. He did arrive in 20 minutes and charged me a very fair price for the work he completed! If I could give him a 10, I would! If you use him you will be very happy! read more

This venerable business gets 5 stars. The courteous, expert staff has fixed several locks and doors on our 100-year old house. Their work is top-notch, they show up on time and the prices are solid. FANTASTIC SERVICE & RESPONSIVE. I had lost the key to my neighborhood mailbox and found Pasadena Lock Shop on Yelp. I communicated through this site directly to the owner, Steve, and within 5 minutes I had a response and an estimate (great price too, NO same-day fee). Immediately I had Nick texting me and less than 20 min later he was here to re-key my box. All in all, Nick was here for maybe 10 min and had it opened and put in a new lock with 3 keys. The service and courteousness of both Steve and Nick was greatly appreciated and I will promote their business to all my friends and colleagues if they are ever requiring a locksmith. Speedy service and a great price. Steve was very easy to work with. Highly recommend.

I had previously worked with Steve's employee Nick and he was professional, efficient, and nice to work with. I needed my house keys re-keyed emergently this morning and this time the owner Steve came by to help me out. Even though the yelp review states that he opens at 1000 today, he still came to my rescue at 0710. He was pleasant, efficient, understanding, and incredibly accommodating. I can't think both Steve and Nick enough for coming to my rescue now once, but twice now. Highly recommend! read more

I accidentally locked myself out of the house and sent a quote request through Yelp. Technically the business was not opened yet (this was ~7am); however, I received a quick response. Steve came by and solved my issue. Very accommodating. Nice guy. Fast service. Would recommend 10/10. Thank you!! read more
