My Husband and I went for our Anniversary last night and had the best dinner we've had in the course of our 5 year relationship! Pretty sure our servers name was Lindsey, and she was so fun and welcoming and really made us feel like we were special! We live right down the street and plan to come here any time we need a night out! Food was DELICIOUS too!!!! We had the Kobe burger and the short rib, both unreal! Prices were totally reasonable, even the wine list has options for everyone! read more

Parkway Grill - They gave us an Anniversary card, an amazing cupcake and beautiful flowers. Completely blew us away! - New American Near Me - Pasadena, California

On the great debacle that can be a Mother's Day lunch out, Parkway Grill crushed it! Reading around yelp many a good restaurant can stumble on this high expectation, high volume day of the masses. We have actually came here on two previous Mother's Day and have enjoyed it but today PG stepped it up! Our larger group of 12 (8A, 4K) came in with a ressie at 11am. We were seated promptly and our server Jose stopped by to greet us. Jose was extremely affable and knowledgeable and his service was top notch. The food was timely and delicious. The entire experience was class. Food- The bread basket is awesome. It comes with 4 different types of great bread. I particularly liked the jalapeno cornbread madeleines. We started a couple lobster crepes to start for the table. The crepe was a perfect wrapper for the decadent and fresh lobster. The sauce was savory and reminiscent of a creamy lobster bisque. This was a great recommendation from Jose. Wife started with some shucked oysters (from Washington State?) they arrived with an array of accouterments- mignonette, horse radish, lemon, and cocktail sauce. Since oysters can't swim horizontally none of them made it across the table to me and I can only assume she loved them. The wife and her sister ordered two different salads. This is where I blew it. These salads looked amazing, crunchy fresh lettuce with an array of vibrant colored toppings. I wished I had ordered one. Since the pizza oven was being repaired there were no flat breads (only down side to visit). This was going to be the order for the two monsters so I had to improvise. One wanted a burger and one wanted pasta- I wanted both. So I ordered the burger to split with my older one. It came cooked perfectly as requested. The burger came with blue cheese and typical burger toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles) sweet potato fries. The burger was American Wagu and it was excellent we devoured our collective halves. The pasta I split with the little monster was Ragu alla Bolognese. It came with a pork ragu packed with flavor mixed nicely with a perfectly cooked pappardelle pasta. The pasta tasted house-made. The two of us loved it. Wife ordered the fish entree, I believe it was white fish it came with mushroom risotto and pea puree. I got to try the expertly cooked whitefish. It was flavorful, moist and melted in the mouth. I was so stuffed after bread, apps, and two half entrees that I skipped dessert. They make their own ice cream in house and all the kids really enjoyed it. The wife and her sister enjoyed smores and lava cake. They looked great and plates were licked (not really I didn't do it this time). Everyone was super happy with the entire meal. Service- There is really not much to say except it was exceptional. Jose had a genuine warmth that shone through. I know he had other tables but it sure didn't feel like it. It was as if we were the only people in the restaurant and he gracefully served us as we wanted for nothing. His support staff was excellent also and enabled him to be at our beck and call. Ambiance- Is stellar. The white linen table cloths set the stage in the multi tiered dining room. The high ceilings and wooden beams add a beautiful touch of charm and elegance all of this is enhanced with natural light streaming thru the sky lights. Overall- This visit put this on the yearly tradition schedule, mothers day at Parkway Grill 2020 book it! We loved it and I can't recommend Parkway Grill enough. read more

Came here for my boyfriend's birthday. Every single dish we ordered was beyond amazing. What a gem in Pasadena. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant the next time I visit Pasadena. read more

Great service and friendly staff. I really enjoyed dining in and definitely recommend it.

This was one of the best meals I've had in a very very long time. The interior is absolutely gorgeous. Very nice and fancy. The restrooms were very elegant. I asked the waiter for a recommendation and then I happened to turn and see a man eating something rather large on his plate. I asked the waiter what the man was eating, he replied and said catfish. I said I want that. It was amazing on my plate. People stopped and asked me what it was and how it tasted. It was one of the best things I've tasted in a long time. I did my best to tackle it but I could not finish it. It was unbelievable. I would love to visit again, very soon. read more

I loved how they converted the parking lot to patio. Best ambiance in Covid and great food.

Went to dinner at Parkway Grill Pasadena last night. Totally disappointed with service and dinner quality. there were only 4 of us, not a large group but they still managed to screw up 2 of the dishes, simple steaks! They should be known for their steaks right? common, it's a grill house! My son makes better steaks than their high paid chef! We ordered a diet coke which didn't come for at least 15 minutes, we had to remind 2 other waiters to get the drink. My steak had to go back 3 times, in the end, I got a cut that was not a steak but just a big blub of fat, couldn't eat a bite after waiting for 28 minutes (I had to eat bread to feel my tummy! My husband's steak was that was supposed to be prepared Medium rare, was blackened on top and completely cold (out of freezer cold) and uncooked in the middle! So, he had to wait till they cook his steak again. Not a good experience, considering the claim of fame & high charges. read more

Too bad there aren't enough stars to rate how fabulous this place is! In thirty years, I have never had less than a perfect dining experience here. This is truly the house of "Yes"... They will change any menu item to your specifications, substitute dishes(no charge) and NEVER will you hear, "No" or, "We can't do that". And always with a smile, and to make you feel that they are happy to accommodate your every wish! The atmosphere is romantic and gorgeous, and the bar is like sitting in a luxury "Cheers" scene. Recently, many new restaurants have opened in Pasadena...don't waste your time and money...you will only be disappointed when you are not treated with the same hospitality and amazing quality of food as the Parkway. I give 100 stars! read more

Update: I took the steak they remade for me to go (which was incredibly undercooked lol. Insane how they can't get a temperature right). I checked the bag just now and it was missing. Only my girlfriends chicken was in there. This place is such a joke. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Always top notch!!! All the restaurants in this group are fabulous. I wish they were open at lunch or earlier.

This was my first time here, a recommendation from a good friend of mine who knows that I love a good steak. I decided to make reservations here for Valentine's night. The decor was beautiful, our drinks were delicious, our server was very pleasant and nice. The reason I'm giving this a 2 star, was for the steak. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare but it came medium well. I asked for it to be made again properly but it came out with no flavor. I've been to a lot of steakhouses locally to steakhouses in Chicago, New York, Texas just to name a few but Iwas really disappointed. I heard so much about this place but I was disappointed with the taste of my steak and our side. The only exception, was the Caesar salad, that was delicious. read more

Service and food are excellent. Great place for a work meeting in their private room!

I would not go back to Parkway Grill. Portion sizes were very small, flavors were not great, and prices were high.

Quality food quality service, nice ambience. Valet parking always helpful in Pasadena...

It has an open kitchen, great servers and they have their own parking lot...yay. I enjoy their menu, it is classic and I am very happy. The creme brulee is always good and you know if you need a special requests there is no problem. I had vegan associates who has specific requests and there were no problem...they went off menu, thank you. For the rest of us, there is nothing that disappoints, it's a nice treat to have dinner here. read more

I used to love this place. I felt it was a bit overpriced. I was under-whelmed with the service and food.

Parkway Grill has always been a very classy looking place and has its own parking for convenience; (if you want to enjoy meal at an elegant restaurant, especially Christmas time, this is a great choice.) We have not gone in a while since we live farther away so today was definitely a refresher visit since we were in the neighborhood. We ordered fresh oysters, tostado salad with chicken, and short rib taco. The oysters were mid size (I usually order smaller ones like Kumamoto) but very tasty, has great flavor, and an order of six for lunch as appetizer is the right amount. Tostado salad has excellent flavor, mouthfeel m, and texture, chicken is a little bit dry though. The short rib taco was delicious and definitely recommending. For dessert we usually order the Napoleon brûlée with caramel sauce and cappuccino. I tried adding some of the caramel sauce to my cappuccino instead of adding brown sugar and it was surprisingly tasty! read more

This restaurant has asked my review be updated because they didn't like my review details. My review was true and correct! Your manager at this restaurant is rude and if doesn't want anyone to know what he is saying he shouldn't say it when customer is standing right there! Like I stated food was good. Waiter and bartender was fine. Rude behavior is a justifiable complaint! With my large bill - you should accept this review as true and correct! When you have contract, carry it! Be prepared for questioning. read more

I remember once upon a time the food was great so reserved a table to celebrate my best friend birthday on a Tuesday night. Table for three, we had crab cakes, beets salad, lamb chops, scallops, lamb pasta, two cocktails, and a bottle of red wine. $343 plus $70 tip. Overall was good. Love the live piano bar! However, unsure if the person who brought our entrées to the table was in a hurry or bad mood, he instead of placing the plates gently in front of us, it was almost threw/dropped! Food was seasoned nicely and timely but the lamb chops and scallops were all overdone. read more

A friend made reservation here for a Friday night because the ambiance of the place and pictures of the food seemed to be really delicious. Reading some of the reviews beforehand, I knew that there was valet parking and limited street parking (if you can find any), so we were prepared to valet our car. But we must've been too eager to park because we ended up turning into the first parking lot we saw (when our GPS told us that we had reached our destination), that it ended up being for the Arroyo Chop House (which is located right next door separated by their own individual valet parking lots). We quickly realized our mistake, and the valet folks must get it a lot because they directed us how to turn out and back around into the next lot over (note: the lots do not connect so if you bust this wrong turn, prepare for some tight spacing U-turns to head back out the way you came in). After handing over our keys, we walked through the doors and geez, we were floored by the décor the place. Dimly light restaurant, with a lot of low wooden beams in a rustic, old charm kind of way. There are some old fashion cushioned arm chairs to the side when you walk in for waiting guests (and there were quite a few waiting to be seated). The hostess area is not exactly right in the front, but more off to the side where you have to go in a little deeper to the left and you'll spot at least 2-3 hostesses standing around. Once we checked in, we waited no less than 5 minutes to be seated. Imagine a fancy formal low key restaurant setting with white linen tablecloths and heavy cushioned chairs all around. Tables are somewhat a little close to each other, but I guess that adds to the coziness of the place. Gathered all around are families and friends dining together in large to small 2 peope parties. In the center of the entire space is a giant vase of flowers (fake?) that just makes you raise your head to look at the ceiling since it's literally that high. We quickly ordered our entrees since we didn't want to eat too much (due to the whole weekend already including rich foods) and the waitress was very patient to take the time to explain the specials for the evening. The starter bread here is definitely very generous with different types of bread ranging from breadstick, madeleine, cranberry & nuts bread slices, etc. in the bread basket (my fave was the breadstick - wish I had asked for more!). We ordered: 1. braised short rib, parmesan mashed potatoes, pesto, toasted pine nuts, pan juices - we both were eying this entrée and ended up ordering one to share. The short rib looks great when it was presented to us, but after taking bites of It in several pieces, we noticed that the top part was a bit burnt and dry. The bottom part of the short rib was only saved because it was sitting in the sauce soaking up the juices. We finished up majority of the bottom portion and couldn't eat the rest. 2. seared scallops, cauliflower purée, curried swiss chard, caper-sultana compote, walnuts - the scallops portion was a bit small (4 pieces only) so if you have a small appetite, then this one will suit you well. The scallops themselves were seasoned well and didn't have any sea smells to it; but when I was biting in a few of them, the texture of the meat were a bit gamey and rubbery. The puree sauce definitely helps with adding more flavors to the scallops themselves. When the waitress came back and noticed my friend did not finish more than half of the short rib, she was immediately very concerned what was wrong with it. After explaining to her what our feelings of it were, she just nodded understandingly and commented that usually it's a hit with other patrons and went away to grab our requested check. When she came back with our check, we noticed that she had not charged us for the short ribs at all and just charged us for one dish. Surprised, we felt inclined to tip more just because we did eat the food and even though we didn't like it, great customer service like that is worth it. Will I be back? Probably not. It was a great chance to try out the food and explore the space; but that's really it. read more

The first thing we noticed was a parking lot littered with BMWs, Jags, MBs, and Ferraris. For such a fancy restaurant I would expect the whole night to be superlative. Too bad the valet was slow to pick up our car. 'Twas a prelude to the service to follow. We walked into a restaurant that was clearly high class. Sat down and... my chair was a bit wobbly. I'm 5'1" and don't consider myself to be overweight. Chairs should not wobble under my tush. It doesn't do anything for my self-esteem. The bread bowl they brought out was yummy. It came with parmesan cheese crisps, bread sticks, slices of french bread and some sweet bread too. I started with the spring salad with goat cheese, raspberries, candied pecans and wine poached pear. It's everything I love in a salad and each player was flavor packed. My entree was the filet mignon with wild mushrooms, marsala-veal reduction, smoked potatoes and asparagus. The filet was just okay. Chop House next door has a more savory filet. It definitely needed the accompanying wine reduction, which was awesome. Also three of us ordered ours medium, yet they all came out at different levels of doneness. Asparagus was overdone. Did you know? "stressed" = "desserts" backwards! My chocoholic friend shared this tid bit with me. These are the thoughts we ponder. Back to dessert. The four layer chocolate hazelnut crunch mousse cake was brilliant! And I'm not a huge chocolate fan! The mouse layer was filled with tiny flecks of sweet caramelized hazelnut to balance out the bittersweet chocolate ganache. It was very dense so I only had a few bites but they were divine! The creme brulee napolean was great on presentation but weirdly gelatinous in texture. Still it was very eatable, light and flavorful. You can see flecks of vanilla bean throughout. Recap: a few wrinkles need ironing out. Food: 4 stars Ambiance: 4 stars Service: 3 stars Valet: douchey read more

I recently dined at one of my "go to" places in Pasadena - the Parkway Grill and I felt inclined to yelp about my experience. It defies logic as to why it has taken me a full year and some since I last visited this fine establishment. I can point to the fact that they removed the fried catfish off their 2008 Valentines menu ... but seriously ... that's not a good enough reason. We started the evening with the Bibb and Burrata salad - fair but nothing extraordinary. My dining friend ordered the whole ginger-fried catfish and myself, the veal porterhouse special of the night. The porterhouse was good, though I did have a difficult time deciding on steak ... knowing full well that the Arroyo Chophouse is only a few yards away. I was mildly surprised at how nicely it was cooked and how tender and juicy it was. Lest I forget the nice reduction sauce that completed the dish. But the true star of the night was the ginger-fried catfish ... it is "out of this world" good. Served "whole" in all it's glory ... one truly has to try this signature dish in order to truly make it a "Parkway Grill experience". The catfish is accompanied with some rice (a MUST for all my Asian peeps), a cucumber-mint relish, and a yuzu ponzu dipping sauce ... I cannot wait to come back and have this meal once again. Next time though ... I will have the fish and have it all to myself. For dessert, we had the chocolate hazelnut crunchy cake as well as the creme brulee napoleon. For chocolate lovers, the crunchy cake is a can't miss .... but the real draw of the dessert menu is the creme brulee napoleon. It is not a traditional creme brulee, instead it is served with some "crisp phyllo squares" that sit above the vanilla bean custard surrounded by a caramel sauce. Wow ... it REALLY is that good!!! It certainly ranks up there as one of the best desserts that I've ever had. Overall, it was truly a delight to have dined here ... from the ambiance to the attentive service and of course the food ... this place is surely a can't miss. Having dined here multiple times in the past, I can honestly say that they have consistently "delivered" ... and I would not hesitate in recommending this place even to the harshest of critics. read more

Again came here for lunch for my moms birthday, it's was a great meal. The server, Nicole I believe, I can't remember but she was super sweet, really attentive and just all around a great server. It's great to witness excellent service coordination and communication as a guest. The food came out at the appropriate intervals for a fine dining restaurant, they were on point with beverage refill as well as timeliness of delivery of each course. The beet and goat cheese salad was phenomenal, the chicken sandwich, excellent as well. I swear next time I go I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna get that catfish!!!! read more

Long wait for average food - don't bother to make a reservation as well, they still make you wait hour and a half, at least for my experience. The "Kobe" beef burger was literally one of the worst burger I ever had. The "bun" tasted more like recycled cupboard molded into a bun and beef tasted like prime/angus at best, definitely not Kobe (which is worse, a business lying to their customer) or a lousy kitchen staff prep. All in all, I'll take my money else where any day, in a heartbeat! read more

The Parkway Grill is one of the few restaurants I've been to in a long time that has that 30 years ago fine dining feel. Live music, everyone is dressed in slacks and dresses, professional serving staff that are educated in their craft. It's very nice to see a restaurant of this calibur doing well in a time of mass produced restaurants and only expensive because a celebrity chef slapped their name on the sign. The menu is also that of a time and culture that is slipping away from us with the mass trend of fusion foods. Here at Parkway I enjoyed an entree of Roasted half chicken with goat cheese mashed potatoes and figs. I have to admit that my wife makes the best roasted chicken, so I can't say I had the best roasted chicken, but the richness of the food, the choice wine, and the quiet atmosphere made the meal so much better than I had anticipated. The Chocolate Hazelnut cake was also quite rich so I recommend sharing that if you are already feeling content with your meal. The restaurant is wonderful in its layout. Sunken dining areas mixed with raised level tables. The patio was large and well spaced and I didn't feel like I was dining with the people next to me. A very quiet place to keep conversation even with the live music. Although Parkway is pricy, it is truly for a more refined crowd. Valet parking only. read more

Parkway Grill has become my favorite eatery in the Pasadena area. The restaurant has no theme or hook to help it stand out. It is just a well staffed, beautifully appointed restaurant that focuses on creating the best "American Regional Cuisine" possible. Located next door to the Arroyo Chop House, Parkway Grill has complimentary valet. Inside, you'll find a swank little lounge with live music on the evenings. The staff is very professional and polite- not stiff. We most recently visited the Parkway Grill to partake in the DineLA menu. What a treat. I started with an heirloom tomato salad with prosciutto, mozzarella and a balsamic glaze. This was perfectly balanced, highlighting the tomatoes without the glaze or the meat being over-powering. My wife had the Cocoa crepe stuffed with lobster. Yes, a chocolate crepe filled with lobster. I was skeptical, but it was spectacular. There was only the hint of cocoa, and the lobster played center stage. Perfect. For the main course, I had the braised short rib. It was melt-in-your-mouth delicious- comfort food elevated by culinary genius to something so much more sophisticated. Perfectly cooked and paired with some young carrots, the entire dish came together by virtue of a delicate Cabernet sauce that shamed my many attempts to make a wine reduction for my meats. My wife had the roast chicken. You would expect this to be a pretty boring dish, but it was so flavorful and tender that it left a permanent mark with her. For desert, I had the creme brulee napoleon, which is an interesting play on creme brulee. Instead of making the custard with a hardened sugar top, they put the custard between sugar wafers. This was good, but I wanted more fruit to cut through the sweetness. My wife had the "Smores" which was a deconstructed and upscale version of the famous campfire treat. Like the namesake, her desert was extremely rich, so keep that in mind. I've eaten at Parkway once before with a large group on their standard menu, and did not have a single complaint about any of their food. On both occasions the staff were top notch and attentive. They really do their best to bring a consistently great evening. In a place like LA, where everyone seems to have a gimmick, Parkway doesn't assert itself. Their style, "American Regional" just doesn't tempt the imagination when considering a place to go for dinner. It isn't the Asian-French fusion of Akira, or Sushi like the myriad such joints in Pasadena. Nor do they offer the sense of adventure you'll find on the plates at The Dining Room. And yet, if I wanted to take close family or a first date to a restaurant in Pasadena where I knew they would have a wonderful time, Parkway would be my first choice. read more

Did the girl thing and ordered chicken at a steak house... but oh my, ladies do not fret because the chicken here is deeeelicious! :O important stuff: - $$$ expect to be dropping some dough - valet parking: tip (up to you) - reservations are available - attire: mixed, there were people really dressed up and some dressed really casual - great friendly and attentive service - delicious complimentary bread basket (assortment) - yuuuummy cocktails (range from $15+) beer and wine also available - appetizers/salads ($15+) - poultry ($27-$40) - pasta/pizza ($15-$30) Just had dinner here yesterday with the boy and o mangs it was ahmazing~ Like I mentioned above, I ended up going with the chicken despite a number of disappointing chicken dishes at various steakhouses. And I mean it's understandable... they're steakhouses for a reason right? But anyways, it ain't easy being an active yelpie while trying to be healthy and fit ya know?? sooooooo I try sometimes when I can :P As for my drink, I choose one of their cocktails, I forgot the specific name :( but it was a super delicious strawberry mojito! AHH so yums and pretty! Highly recommended :O Anyways while we waited for our main entrees our server offered us two choices of bread options to nibble on, you can choose between their flatbreads or an assortment/variety basket of bread... we went with the bread basket and it was yumyummies~ The assortment included a breadstick, crispy thin chip/like bread, corn bread madeleines, and wheat/cranberry/oats slices. But enough about the bread, lets get on to the good stuff! Our plates finally arrived (only took around maybe 15-20 minutes) and my chicken looked and smelled so amazing~I forget the exact name of the dish but it was something like the 1/2 Roast Chicken with Goat Cheese Mashed Potatoes, Cranberries and Steamed Carrots. There are so many places that don't know how to cook chicken right (super dry and tasteless)... but this place knows how to get it done :O Super juicy, delicious seasoning, and mMmM the potatoes... goat....cheese... yes please! Btw the chicken was huge, almost looked like a chicken steak. Ended up taking half of it home (finished it off for lunch today lols) but yeah it was just as yummy the second day as well! If I had to describe my meal in one word it would be............ THANKSGIVING. lolols It tasted like a delicious plate of Thanksgiving, especially with those potatoes and cranberries :) I also had a bite of the filet mignon (which also came with potatoes and asparagus) the steak was super tender and flavorful ~ mMMm! All in all it was a lovely meal and I would definitely recommend this place to friends and fam :) Carol approved ;) read more

I have been here a couple of times, each time for a work occasion. But I am never disappointed in what I order. Flat bread- topped with caramelized walnuts and pears plus bits of cheese all over this delicious, chewy, and fresh flat bread. I always look forward to receiving their pear infused flat bread. The best! Beets salad- brick oven roasted beets with a classic, basic field of greens sprinkled with a thick, creamy goat cheese and served with goat cheese filled wontons. I am not a fan of goat cheese, but when I had it here, I was sure if I were to ever eat it again, it would be only at this establishment. Great tasting beets and great tasting goat cheese sauce. Not too strong, yet not mild enough so you can't taste it. Angel hair pasta- I added this baby with shrimp. Okay I lied, I was a bit disappointed with their pasta the last time I was here. It was way too salty for my taste. Especially the shrimp. But I forgave them because I assumed there was a new chef in town and he was probably a n00b who was trying to get his shizz down! It was still good, but again, the overboard of salt kind of killed it. Usually, the waiter will tell you of their specials. I got their special last time, a chilean sea bass. Another standout dish! Their specials change often, but they are usually worth hearing out. And their soups are always full of texture, flavor, and deliciousness. Great place for a fine experience. read more

What an amazing experience!!!! :) I had bookmarked this place a while back for some special occasion and never got around to it but there was finally a reason to try it. We were seated right away and at this cozy little corner table and were promptly brought an interesting bread basket. Ordered drinks - I had the Parkway Lemonade...it was super strong and got straight to the point :) And now for the stars of the show: Duck - *sigh* so delicious. We both love duck (it's our favorite poultry) so it was a no brainer. It was wonderfully marinated and served with pasta and veggies. SO DELICIOUS. Papparedelle pasta - I've never had veal before but holy mother of pearl it was amazing. SO TENDER. And it meshed perfectly with the texture of the wide noodles. YUM YUM YUM Filet mignon - I was debating between pasta and the filet but since he got the filet he just cut me a piece. Perfectly cooked and tender and moist...and those potatoes...are clouds of heaven. He even said it might be better than Ruth's Chris!! Panna Cotta- I have been such a fan of panna cotta so of course I had to order it. It was good but I've had better (see review of Celestino's). But it was light and creamy. It has a little sour yogurt taste which I didn't mind but wasn't expecting. Service was great, food was amazing, experience was fabulous. p.s. rumor has it that they have tv screens above every urinal in the mens room? It was game 6 of the NBA finals so I guess it came in handy for my date. read more

Absolutely loved the filet mignon from Parkway Grill. The meat was so tender and juicy. It was complemented with some bomb potatoes and vegetables. Everything on the plate tasted awesome. For dessert I had the crepe brûlée Napoleon. The way that they presented the creams brûlée was unique. They had crisp phyllo squares between the custard with caramel sauce. Maybe it was just my plate, but I felt that the squares were really soggy by the time it got to my table. Also I would note that the ambience within the restaurant is great. I highly recommend bringing a date here. They had a pianist that was playing which was awesome. read more

We had Mother's Day Brunch at the Parkway Grill....This was our third MD brunch so we decided to make it a tradition. We were not disappointed. I had requested to be seated in the atrium and PWG granted my wish. We had a lovely table with a view of the greenery and Arroyo Parkway. Anna was our server. She was perfect. She gave us the right amount of information and attention with a pleasant professionalism that provided us with an effortless selection of appetizers and entrees. The food was delicious. We loved the lobster crepes, shrimp corn dogs and clam chowder as appetizers. We barely had room for our entrees but we managed to enjoy the huevos rancheros, brioche French toast and lobster club. Unfortunately, we had no room for dessert. Kudos to all st the PWG that made our brunch spectacular! We will be back. read more

Great food, nice atmosphere...service sucked. We sat at the bar, 2 bartenders, 10 patrons, plus service bar, not that busy. Had to catch the bartenders eye for everything, 1st drink, asking for menus, ...took 15 minutes of "excuse me , can we order, " and being ignored till we could place a food order. Bartenders never waited on us, we waited on them. We watched as they did all their side, prep, washing glasses etc, never looking up. I can deal with this at yard house, but high end steak house? Finally asked for the check and it was dropped as a slip of paper amongst the finished dishes that sat in front of us for 15 minutes. We got apps and wine for 90$, we were intending on a whole meal but opted out after the first course took an hour and a half of rudeness to negotiate. Get it together parkway, staff is lagging and management is absent. read more

We have been coming here for several years because of the food, the service, and the ambiance. Your coming here to eat, talk and enjoy. We were promptly seated at our reserved time. This place is always busy. If you want a classy restaurant for lunch or dinner, this is it. Our server was Matthew. During our meal, and more especially so when we left, I reflected on what we just experienced. Matthew's service to us was truly memorable. He is what we think of concerning manners, polite conversation, swift and gracious serving, and a commitment to us having a nice time. Matt is a very special person. And now, the food. A mixed bread basket was presented, provided complimentary, and it was really good. For appetizers we chose the crab cake and the oysters; and we were generously offered the tiger shrimp corndogs by the restaurant and we accepted. All three were perfect. We ordered the Billecart-Salmon Brut Réserve Champagne half bottle at this juncture. I ordered the gingered whole fried catfish, which came with yuzu ponzu, caraway rice, and cucumber-mint relish. I wanted something eclectic and this plate was available. The presentation of the fish had patrons near us looking at the plate. The asian taste was very appealing and the fish was perfectly cooked and tender. She had the filet mignon, medium rare, and it came with fingerling potatoes, wild mushrooms, and caramelized shallots. It was also perfect, as I tried a bite. For desert we had the chocolate hazelnut roulade. Very good. Free valet parking at the restaurant. This attractive restaurant will always be a favorite. It's a lot better than Smitty's grill. The tempura shrimp was deliciously companied by the citrus spicy sour sweet sauce. For the two course Dine LA lunch, I picked the grilled salmon, it was very fresh and tender, served with truffle oiled mushroom and green been. I didn't order an dessert, cheap, I know, but I was half full on the complimentary bread basket, especially the bread stick. Will definitely go back if chance allows! Oh, you can self park in Arroyo Chop House next door since they don't open for lunch if you don't want to do the valet parking. read more

It tasted nice, but this is enough food for a family of 5, so exercise caution when ordering. Fish is not one of those things that you can pop in a to go container and eat later. It was barely touched and a huge waste of money. And I can still see it looking at me as if to ask, "Why? Why me?" I don't remember what I had (three glasses of wine, for sure... maybe that's why), but I know I loved every bite. The service was superb, the bathroom facilities spotless, and the lighting flattering. They had some terrific piano jazz going on when we left and I think this would be a great place to dress up, go for a drink and enjoy some music. I DO have a birthday coming up... read more
