    Hand made reading glasses.

I have been wearing glasses for many years and would not go anywhere else for me or my children. I promise you this place is truly different. The selection is substantial, from very rare glasses worn by celebrities anywhere from the 1950s to very modern one a kind hand-made glasses. More importantly, the owner Haig, is patient, knowledgeable and very sincere with over 35 years of experience. The place thrives on long term customers with whom relationships of trust have been years in the making. I am so happy with my hand made reading glasses.

Oliver people's in sunset plaza has been my choice opticians since 1991, until now. here's the story, I decided to finally bite the progressive lens bullet. so armed with my spanking new prescription, I went to look for the new frame to match. I haven't had a new frame in awhile, but for the first time ever, I went in to Oliver people's and didnt know anyone working there. I looked carefully around at the shelved frames, but just wasn't feeling it. the next day I hopped off the crowded freeway to take surface streets from the valley to hollywood, and haig's shop jumped out at me. I went in to look for frames that I could take back to O.P.'s to have lensed, and that is the proverbial end of the story. look no further. this guy is it!

These are the model glasses Marcello Mastriani wore in 8 1/2.

If you want to wear standout rare frames, fit with utter precision lenses, check out the low-key Paris Optique. This is not a generic strip mall optician. Paris Optique is truly an amazing spot. The owner is simply put, a craftsman. The dude has lexiconic knowledge of style, fashion, art, and history of eyewear. He has an extensive collection of glasses from big name high-end, to small batch, rare, and out of print vintage frames. If he feels like he's got something special that suits you, he'll open secret drawers and pull out special pieces for you to try. Ask him to show you his Marcello Mastriani collection. He has every model frame Marcello wore. Ask him to tell you about the Steve McQueen Persol 714's he bought at a bazaar while traveling in Egypt in 1982. Ask to see his fold up Porsche Carrera aviators. I tried on some incredible frames. The man goes deep. He's also extremely knowledgable about lenses, and is like a crazy lens perfectionist. I ended up getting these great Spanish frames with pristine Zeiss photochromic lenses, I couldn't be more stoked. Paris Optique is a boutique shop run by a craftsman and lens artist. Highly recommended. A+

Thank you for my perfect prescription sunglasses Haig and Mel! Here I come Sun!

I was introduced to Paris Optique a few years ago and have been a loyal costumer ever since. Haig always knows the best frames for my face and I get compliments almost daily and questions on where I got them. Today, I got to back up my regular frames with prescription sunglasses. So excited to have the shop assistant, Mel, there to find me the perfect choice. Really, you can't go wrong by coming in for a visit and checking out their selection.

So thrilled that Paris Optique was able to turn these vintage frames I found at a yard sale into glasses with my rx for me!

Far more valuable than the excellent selection of frames is the expert knowledge and advice provided by Haig.

The customer service here is remarkable. The staff is all friendly and welcoming. I was greeted and asked if I needed assistance. I found what I wanted and was processed and the transaction was completed in a timely manner. I think regular eyeglasses with prescription is kind of a steal, but prescription sunglasses are kind of a scam, in my opinion. I bought with my heart and not my wallet this time. There was an irate w**te lady that complained and got the red carpet rolled out for her, which is so typical to cater to Karens. Nothing for a regular client or consumer, which is so sad. Let me stomp my feet, yell, and berate your staff and I'll get treated with extra grace and privilege. If you happen to be a Karen, Warby Parker welcomes you with open arms. LOL.

He wrote down the details of my quote. They can ship your order directly to you at no charge or to another Warby location. Good selection, but unfortunately not many frames I liked for my wide face and lower nose bridge. Still undecided about getting eyeglasses here but appreciate a good shopping experience.

Okay, no big deal and easy. Picked them up and asked to get them adjusted. That's when it went awry. I figured they'd be experienced and be able to adjust my glasses as I had to have an appointment for pick up. Nope. Save yourself the trouble and get them adjusted elsewhere. They gave it a very valiant effort but execution left a lot to be desired. They didn't break my new glasses but they were not balanced or straight after adjusting. Great taste in frames.

Also referred people to this business, until this year when they really surprised me with their insane lust for additional charges. They've been holding sample contacts hostage for weeks because I rescheduled an appointment. I can't come in and just collect my samples and get an updated prescription. I have to see the doctor, and then come back for another appointment, and if I dare to reschedule it - $50 charge. I had to call in every day to see whether they can squeeze me in, and when I cancelled an appointment because my dog is not feeling well, and the vet suggested to come in ASAP at the same time, of course my dog comes in first. They wanted to collect this $50, or they wouldn't give me an appointment. All I need is this damned prescription because I already paid $290 for an exam, but never again. So I paid $50, but... They lost my business. Update, after this review was posted, they called me to inform me that they will not be releasing my prescription, which I was waiting months for. Petty move but not surprising. I will get the refund for my exam and $50 fee though so I can start all over again elsewhere. What a joke, avoid them at all cost.

Unlike other places like Lenscrafter, the people working there know their job and are able to adjust the frame to you, fix it if needed, etc... I even came back with very old frames that were completely bend and with a broken nose pad and the salesperson, Isaiah, was able to fix it perfectly and replace the missing nose pads ! I really couldn't believe it how good of a job he did. All the other people I've to deal with at this location were great.

Unfortunately, today did not live up to those expectations. I already knew which frames I wanted so I scanned them to check in and went through the prompts to enter my initial information. I was then called up to the counter in less than 2 minutes where I met Jason. Surprisingly he was very disengaged from the start. His first question was to ask to be taken where my selected frames are in the store. Back at the counter he asked for the same information that I already entered at check in, then for my prescription, which he entered on a tablet. I tried to make small talk, but he didn't seem interested. He then pulled out a binocular-like device and put it up to my eyes without explaining what it was or what I was to do. I only know from my optometrist that it's for PD measurements, but a little explanation would be nice before something is put up to my face. He then entered more info, asked if I wanted to pick up or ship my order -- I said pick-up. He gave me my total. As I was paying, he asked if I was using an HSA or FSA card. I was -- so he tells me my order is "Final Sale", which was fine. He printed out my receipt and said, "we'll call you when they're ready". We left the store, expecting to return in about an hour. We shopped, grabbed a snack and walked around. After about an hour and a half without a call, I returned to the store. Jason was no longer there. I asked Isaiah about my order, but then a young lady took over. It took her just a few minutes to find it. She then tells me that progressive lenses are not done in-store -- what?!? She apologized when I said I was not told that. She then asked if I wanted them shipped instead. Yes. She had me enter my address on the tablet and said that I'll get an email with tracking when they're shipped. Aside from the disappointment with this visit, I'm now worried that there will be an issue with the fulfillment of my order. It wouldn't surprise me if I get a call in a few weeks to pick-up my order. We'll see.
