One of the best persian restaurant experiences we have had, and we are a half persian family so we are comparing it to persian homecoming. Growing up in Glendale I've tried plenty of Mediterranean food from all over but here at Pardis has to be one of my top 3 choices! First off, their portions are huge and price is reasonable for the amount of food they give you. Secondly, you can taste the quality and care in their food. Kabobs were all juicy and flavorful. I ordered their veggie plater and it came with falafel along with other amazing veggie sides. Their house made salad dressing is out of this world! Lastly, what made our experience so memorable was our server Bob. He is very tentative and makes sure you're satisfied and happy with their product. My son's home from college for the summer. A since I had COVID on Father's Day he wanted to take his grandpa out to lunch today. I thought he'd want to go somewhere closer to home. Nope, he wanted to go to Pardis. He said, "Mom, I know it's far, but the food is SO GOOD!" I said "Okay!" We went to pick up my dad and we were off to Glendale. We got there a little after 1pm. The parking lot near the fish market was packed, but I was able to find a spot. We went to the back patio but the entry was closed. I could see a few people dining through the gate. We walked around to the front door. I'd never been inside the dining room before. It was nice! They had a fully stocked bar, a private dining room, and several tables with & without booths. All tables donned white linen table cloths. Nice! My "HANGRY" son wanted to sit at a booth! He knew what he wanted and couldn't wait. Our server came over and got our drink order. My son and dad had a Sprite and I had an ice tea. My son also ordered a lentil soup. The bread arrived and the plate with butter, basil, and red onion. While we were waiting, some random tall blonde lady appeared and asked us what brought us to the restaurant. "FOOD!" I told her that my son wanted to come, as we'd been here several time in the last year + but we usually eat on the back patio. No! We do not live near Glendale and we past several Middle Eastern restaurant on our way here, but my son LOVES their Lamb Shank. I'm not sure who this lady was and why she inquired about our dining choice. Maybe because we were "OBVIOUSLY NOT" MIDDLE EASTERN and since were were AFRICAN AMERICAN, she had to know WHY we wanted to spend our time and money there. She was nice and commented about my son's Lakers t-shirt and how she used to see them at the Forum! As quietly as she appeared, she quietly disappeared. Never saw her again throughout our entire dining time there. There was however an OLDER Middle Eastern lady who was sitting at a table near us, she STARED at us the ENTIRE time she was there. It kinda made my son UNCOMFORTABLE, as it did not BOTHER me! I told him that whatever she has in her mind that is causing her not to enjoy her meal is "HER PROBLEM!" Don't let her RUDE OGLING ruin his meal! He is a GOOD LOOKING young man and my dad is a handsome fella! Perhaps she was SMITTEN by their LOOKS! I'm 57 years old, my dad is 83, and my son is 20. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and my parents are from Louisiana. My parents ALWAYS taught us to be open minded with other cultures and their food. They had FRIENDS from all types of cultures. The potluck parties of the 70's & 80's were some of the best culinary experiences! We were EXPOSED to so many things growing up! I have taught my son the same. So, if you want a good meal and have the money to pay for it! GO GET IT! You can GO ANYWHERE! We started with appetizers trio with Yogurt, Hummus, and Picked Veggies! My dad and son had the Lamb Shank with rice. My dad had a side salad. I had the Salmon Kebab with Rice. My son RAVED about his Lentil Soup. He said is was very HEARTY and THICK! It wasn't watered down like you find at most places. My dad had no MERCY on his lamb shank. There was NOTHING left on his bone. He enjoyed the rice and salad too! My son ate half of his lamb shank. After having the soup, bread, and appetizers, it filled him up. My salmon was cooked perfect. I love when the salmon skin is CRISPY. Delicious! I was definitely surprised by how great this restaurant is! I'm a bit late to review but definitely worth the review. On Mother's Day, my mother in law was craving lule kabob, we struck out with Raffis as they were all sold out for the day, we found this location on Yelp and WOW!!! Their service is amazing, their kabob is delicious and their prices are great!!! We have been coming back here regularly for dine in and takeout! We rave about this restaurant to our friends and family and always order their family combo special. It's perfect for a little gathering and you definitely get what you pay for. This was our second time at Paradis. The first time was a quick lunch at 4 o'clock on a Sunday and the place was empty and service and food were great. Today, we had a reservation for seven people at 1:30 and we were placed in their private room. We ordered some appetizers and those arrived fairly quickly. We placed our order 15 min after seating and our food did not arrive till 2:30. Our waiter had stated that the food would take 25-30 minutes but he disappeared for a while and finally when we asked where the food was, he said it was almost ready. The food arrived and the rice was nice and hot but it was obvious that the kabob had been sitting there for a while as the meats and the tomatoes were cold. I mentioned this to the waiter, and all he offered was an apology. Thor food was great albeit cold, but service could have been better and cold kabob is never anything to brag about. read more

This is the most authentic Persian restaurant I have been to! This is legit! They have sour beef, kaleh pacheh, all the staples that you don't normally find at restaurants. Everything we had was delicious and service was right on. You can ask for your food to be brought out family style (rice separate from the meat) or as individual plates. I am so excited to have good Persian food in Glendale again as some of the other popular restaurants in the area have become overpriced for very mediocre in authentic food. Beautiful atmosphere, helpful and welcoming staff. We brought our 60lb American Staffordshire Terrior and the staff was so accommodating to him. They start by serving you In-House fresh baked bread with butter, herbs, n onion on the side. We then ordered the Ashe as our appetizer which is one of the best I have had. Lastly the Koobideh literally melts in your mouth and the servings are more than enough to satisfy your hunger. Will definitely be coming back! the service and ambience are fair, the appetizers were not appealing or appetizing, the Ikra way too salty, Masto Khiyar had virtually no cucumbers in it, and the olives covered in walnut pomegranate paste was so so. The main courses were again only fair. If a restaurant is average does that make it deserve four stars? I don't think so. OK I could give it at 3.5 at best. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Persian food, so it's got to be really high-quality or outstanding for me to Give it a four or five. I feel bad their grand opening was slap bang in the middle of this blasted pandemic, but I'm sorry, everything here is absolutely terrible. Like jarringly bad! Except the bread - the bread is somehow amazing and I could eat that all day long - but I have visited twice and ordered a huge variety of dishes and they have all been painfully bland - there is no flavor to any of it - none. To add insult to injury, they have also gone out of their way to get rid of all texture - as if the food is prepped for the toothless. Every ingredient is blended to within an inch of its life - I'm talking pulverized, making it all mushy and kind of gross. So, no taste, no feel - what's left?! Looks? I guess the dishes mostly look the part but it's very clear the chef has no clue how to make Persian food. Service on the other hand is fairly neglectful - there are long waits even when there are very few customers, and if you request something from anyone other than your own server you get ignored. It's like they've all just given up on life. I have no idea how they got so many high ratings - perhaps from friends and family trying to support the business. I was really excited to try this place after reading the reviews and was really disappointed. We ordered the tahdig, the ikra, an order of the veggie kebob and the shirazi salad. The shirazi and the ikra were both very good. Lots of great flavor in both. But the tahdig and veggie kebob were incredibly disappointing. We ordered the tahdig with beef stew and there wasn't a single piece of beef in our order. Plus the rice was so stale and chewy it wasn't even edible. We just scooped the stew off of the top and didn't eat the rice. The veggie kebob was just absurdly overpriced. $20 for four pieces of zucchini and four mushrooms??? Legitimately made me upset when I opened the takeout container and realized how much of a rip off it was. Oh, and they werent even seasoned. $20 for four pieces of bland zucchini and four bland mushrooms. Driving back home to San Diego from Paso Robles, we decided to stop by and check out Pardis in Glendale, CA on a Sunday afternoon. We meaning, 5 hungry and tired Persian girls... They were completely booked for the outside patio area at 1PM, so we sat inside. Parking: They have a private parking lot, but there is plenty of street parking available. Ambiance (5 out of 5): We went during the day, but it looks to be very romantic setting in the evening depending on how they have their lighting. The patio area is definitely where I want to sit next time! Overall, it's definitely a more modern look compare to the traditional Persian/middle eastern restaurants around. Modern and sleek. They have a bar area that is designed beautifully and they have a private room as well. Food (5 out of 5): Everything we tried was SO good. Definitely comparable to Raffi's, if not BETTER! Their pricing is definitely better too lol Service (5 out of 5): Service was exceptional. Our waiter handled our group perfectly and made accommodations to each of our needs.
