I came here for dinner with some friends who live in the area and highly recommended this place. The first thing to note is the dinner rush typically does not start until later, around 7 PM. We were there around 5:30 PM and were the only ones in the restaurant. The service was especially friendly and attentive. They bring out complimentary bread, which alone gets 5 stars. It's like naan but so much better. They bring out a dish with red onion, sabzi which tastes like lemon basil, and butter. We ordered three items for the appetizer: the olovieh, which is like a nicer potato salad with chicken and egg in it. It was surprisingly good. We ordered the hummus and mast moosir also which we've had before. I like that the mast moosir was thick and yogurty and not runny or watered down. You can tell the hummus is freshly made. As with most Persian/Mediterranean places, they serve you tons of food and you will have leftovers. We shared two dishes for dinner, the chicken koobideh and chicken barg. The barg was exceptional, the chicken was so thinly sliced and tender and delicious, and is served on more of that bread. I swear it was so soft that I almost didn't think it was chicken, it came apart so easily when cut. The koobideh was so flavorful and tender also, none of the meat was dry or overcooked at all. It was amazing. Masks were not required inside and they still have outside seating available. Most of the staff was not wearing masks, but some were. I think the owner was there that evening also and he made sure to check on us and ensure we were taken care of the entire time. Wow.. I'm literally at a loss for words. I have come here since it first opened about 4 years ago. First of all, we ordered wine but got brought the wrong one and they served it to us without confirming it first. That already threw us off from our meal but then my sister spit out a hair that came from the food. This turned us off for good and we didn't end up finishing our dinner. To add insult to injury, when we asked to talk with the manager about this, our server said he didn't want to speak with us. When we got our bill, they didn't even remove the contaminated dish the hair came out from. We felt this was unacceptable and requested again to speak with the manager, who adamantly denied that the hair belonged to any of their employees. In short: if you have a dietary restriction or allergic DO NOT GO HERE. I was looking for a place to enjoy Ghormeh Sabzi so called around to see which restaurants accommodated vegans. I called the afternoon of a Friday I intended to go, to ask if they had vegan Ghormeh Sabzi and also vegan Ash Resteh. I specifically asked if they cooked the Sabzi without meat instead of just not adding it later, and if their Ash Resteh didn't have yoghurt IN it, in addition to not having it on it (I learned that Raffi's puts it in and on in). The woman on the phone didn't know so she put me on hold and checked with the kitchen. She said they had vegan options for both. So, I told my friends Pardis was an option and we went there. When we arrived and talked to their waiter I asked for Sabzi and he said they're out of the vegan option... at 7 pm on a Friday. Are they not prepared for a weekend evening crowd? Then he checked upon my insistence about the Ash Resteh and they DO in fact put yogurt IN it. So neither option I would have eaten was available. I would never have gone there if I knew and had gotten correct information from the woman who picked up the phone a few hours before. He asked if I wanted the other options of lentil soup and grilled vegetable- two very different options that I didn't go there for. To make it "right" they comped my iced tea HA. Thanks for the free drink that cost you a dollar. Horrible training, horrible service. They also ran out of tahdig. What sort of Persian restaurant doesn't prepare enough tahdig and Sabzi? Reviewing for an online order. My partner got the filet mignon and said it was really good, but this review is specifically for the stews marked as vegetarian. I got the Gormeh Sabzi marked as vegetarian and it had pieces of meat in it. They were small enough they could have been missed but if you're vegetarian that's a no go. One of the servers solution was to ask us if we wanted boxes to-go (we weren't even done eating yet!) Food arrived and the first bit was so salty that I could not believe that a manager would allow a cook to serve it, I ate most of the rice and few bits of the meat. when we were done I did pay the bill with normal tip added since I didn't want them to think that I looking for them to comp my meal, I approached the person standing behind the bar and asked for the manager, he/she was not there and the employee asked if she could help, I stated that food was awfully salty and majority of elderly people are on a no or very low salt diet, the other gentleman tried to intervene and turn the table on me by stating that if I had warned the waiter of any allergies or recommendations, I did not expect to get a meal with the entire salt shaker poured on it, I stated the I had no allergies and had no reason to warn or informed the waiter of such request, maybe they should include a waring on their menu to ask for normally salted and spiced meal, my brother who pours a ton of salt on is food admitted that my meal was overly salted. Very disappointing experience, as a family we eat out almost 5 days a week and mostly Persian food to support our local Iranian Businesses, we are very well known in San Diego area restaurants. I ate here the day they re-opened the restaurants. Have passed by it a couple times and noticed all the twinkly lights on the back patio so we decided to give it a try as its 5 minutes from my friend's house. This Persian restaurant was opened as Covid took over our lives so it's not been truly discovered yet. We had a great time and the food was excellent, will definitely be returning. Atmosphere out back was comfortable, they have heaters if you need one. Overhead light strings and a cool fire display make it seem like you are in someone's living room. Staff all wore masks and face shields, felt very safe there. From the front, I noticed they have a decent full bar so we ordered Margaritas. We also ordered the humus and they brought out fresh bread, butter, mint and basil sprigs with some chopped red onion. Per our waiter in Persian culture you greet your guests with this combo, we buttered the bread and added the basil and it was delicious. Humus was excellent as well. Almost filled up on it all. The entire staff was welcoming and friendly, I felt like I was treated as a regular when it was actually my first time. They have lamb, chicken, beef and fish dishes on the menu, we ordered the Chicken kabob and filet mignon kabob. They serve dinner on a huge oval plate with the meat displayed across the top, a large serving of basmati rice, so sweet and tender, and a salad with lettuce, tomatoes and Persian cucumbers. You also get a roasted tomato, pepper and onion on the plate. Seriously it is a lot of food, enough for 2 people to share but to be truthful, my friend cleaned his plate and took home maybe a quarter of it all. Meals average about 25 bucks and many include rice and salad. Our bill was just over 100 bucks for the appetizer, 3 drinks and 2 dinners.
