Koobideh Kabob with saffron rice, and what's left of my Kashke Bademjan.
    Bijan N.

As someone who appreciates good koobideh, I have tried a number of places in this area and had not yet found the quality that I was looking for. I was raised with koobideh, and I like to think I can differentiate between the good and the bad. I was referred to this Restaurant by a gentleman running a Persian Café nearby who had run out of koobideh for the day, so I gave it a shot. The building façade is unsuspecting, very plain and discreet. When I walked through the big double doors, I found a pristine dining room with understated ambience. I was immediately greeted at the door by attentive staff and assumed a seat at the bar. I noticed the Kashke Bademjan on the menu and gave it a chance. This is an eggplant dip that is relatively easy to mess up. But here it's absolutely delicious. Perfectly prepared. Reminded me of the stuff my grandmother used to make. In anticipation of the kebab, the server brought me pads of butter, raw, sliced onion, and sumac. These people know exactly what they're doing. I can't tell you how many times I've been to Persian restaurants where these essentials were not provided. Whereas normally, I would have to ask for these things, and often restaurants will lack these these essentials, they were brought to me here before I even asked. Very impressed. Then came the koobideh. And I was genuinely impressed. It was tender, juicy delicious, full of flavor. The saffron rice was also well prepared, and I enjoyed every bite, the entire experience. If you're looking for Premier Persian cuisine look no further. This is the place. As we say, "dastet shomah dahd nahkohn", literally translated to "don't hurt your hand", an expression of gratitude towards those who serve you and provide fantastic meals like the one I had here. Merci.

I recently visited Pardis in Glendale and had an absolutely incredible experience. Everything from the ambiance to the food was spot on. The Venue: The space is beautiful, immaculately clean, and the tables and chairs give it a genuinely elevated feel. They have a fantastic "outdoor" seating area in the back. I say "outdoor" because it's completely covered, meaning you get a great breeze while staying completely protected from the sun during the day or the draft on a chilly evening. They even had a TV set up back there for the World Cup matches, which was an awesome touch. The Service: The customer service here is top-notch. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I had a few questions about the menu, and they were happy to walk me through the items with genuine enthusiasm--I never felt rushed or like I was annoying them. I also had a chance to chat with Arman (who I believe is the owner), and he could not have been more pleasant or hospitable. The Food: Absolutely amazing. I like to test a place on the basics first, because if a restaurant can't nail the fundamentals, they can't nail anything. Pardis crushed it. The hummus and pita were perfect--the pita was uniquely crispy and flaky. The Koobideh kebab was spectacular: incredibly moist and juicy without being undercooked. Accompanied by great rice and perfectly grilled tomato and pepper sides, it was a flawless meal. Highly recommend Pardis if you're looking for fantastic food and a welcoming, upscale yet comfortable atmosphere. I'd definitely come back for myself or if I'm entertaining guests from out of town.

I'm a little late making this review but wanted to make sure they got their praise. I came here for Mother's Day with my boyfriend and mom and the service off the bat was amazing. They were so welcoming and they were very accommodating with my pup. This is a great spot for date night or family dinner. The food exceeded my expectations. You can tell they take pride in their cooking and use high quality ingredients. I'll definitely be coming back!

Glendale, CA - Great food, ambiance and service. Highly recommend the chicken and lamb chops. Juicy and flavorful. The yogurt and cucumber dip was also very good with the pita. I was hoping there would be more saffron in the rice. The rice was mostly white. Nice restaurant with an upscale feel to it, tablecloth and proper setting. I love how they round tables for easy food sharing. Plenty of parking in their private lot. I liked it but just not sure if the price justified it. The food was delicious but I wouldn't say it's anything unique that I couldn't get in other more affordable Persian restaurants. It was a very nice evening nonetheless with some friends that I haven't seen for a while!

Really nice spot, very clean, formal atmosphere. Friendly staff and really cool menu. Solid alcohol selection and nice windows by the bar that bring in natural light. Everything came fast and food definitely got me coming back. Lunch was really nice here, and so was the hummus.

**1-Star Review: Total Rip-Off - Bug Crawling on My Onion at Pardis! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!** I placed an order from Pardis today expecting decent quality for the insane five-star restaurant prices they're charging--$30+ entrees and everything marked up like it's fine dining. The food itself was actually okay, decent flavor and not bad overall... until I spotted it. A disgusting bug was sitting right on top of the onion in my dish. Not hidden in sauce, not "maybe it's seasoning"--clearly visible, legs and all, just chilling on the fresh onion like it owned the place. I nearly threw up on the spot. For that kind of money, I expect spotless hygiene, not a pest-infested surprise that ruins the entire meal. This isn't a minor oops--this is straight-up negligence. I'm still grossed out hours later. I've already started a chargeback with my bank and I'm filing a report with the health department first thing tomorrow. Save your money. Pardis is charging luxury prices for food that comes with free bugs. Hard pass. Never again. 0/10. Stay far away.

Great location with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating--clean, tastefully decorated and inviting especially if your hosting a large group as they have a room that seats twenty people. The quality of the food at this wonderful restaurant matches its ambiance, offering an excellent Persian dining experience. We were warmly greeted and promptly served for lunch. The menu features many classic Persian staples including appetizers, kabobs, stews and rice dishes. What sets Pardis apart are the lesser known yet incredibly flavorful options, such as Zeytoon Parvardeh (a tangy and savory appetizer made of olives, pomegranate, walnuts, and herbs), Tahchin (a saffron and yogurt rice cake with chicken), and Chicken Torsh (grilled chicken marinated in walnut purée and pomegranate sauce). Complimentary hot homemade bread was served with herbs and onion. From the start, we were impressed with their bread as it was warm and delicious. For appetizers we ordered Tahdig (crispy rice) with two of the most popular stews: ghormeh sabzi and ghaymeh. Both stews were slightly tangy, which we loved. The tahdig was perfectly crispy and complemented the pronounced flavors of the stews beautifully. We also tried the Koobideh skewers, which came with rice, grilled tomato and pepper. These large ground beef skewers were juicy, tender, and served hot. The Shish Kabob was also tender and juicy, though it lacked the depth of flavor I had hoped for. The highlight, however was the Chicken Torsh--perhaps the juiciest grilled chicken I've ever had. The pomegranate sauce adds a bright, sour note while the walnuts add a rich earthy undertone. It was outstanding!! Don't forget to try the house doogh (a yogurt and mint drink); it is served icy cold and is fantastic. Can't wait to return on a Monday or Wednesday when their Tahchin is served.

    Beef

Vibes were good overall. Nice service by waitress and delicious bread offered. $12 for a beef skewer which was cooked medium (pink inside). $12+ for wine. Overall kind of pricey. I might return...very nice restaurant with patio. Clean bathroom

Does the single chicken barg come with rice and condiments?

Chicken barg comes with rice, a roasted tomato, a roasted pepper, bread (made there), and a bag with onion, mint/ basil, butter, plus sumac.

    Is the meat halal?

We couldn't find information on their menu or website that says if their food is halal or kosher. So, I would say no to be on the safer side.

We ordered two of the carousel plates with four different meats: beef, veal, filet, and chicken. The beef and chicken kebabs were super flavorful. It paired deliciously with their rice, roasted veggies, and cabbage salad. I also love their crispy thin pita chips. I was not a fan of the veal liver as it was too gamey for me. Overall the food was really good and the portion sizes were great. Drinks: 3/5 The drinks here were not that good. They were a dollar or two higher than your regular bar. However, the taste was mediocre. Their hibiscus Paloma was very bland and a little watered down. Service: 5/5 We came here on a Friday night at 7pm, we had a reservation and got seated pretty quickly despite it being quite busy. Our server checked up on our table often and our food came out pretty fast. They also gave out some bread, cheese, veggies, and olives while we waited for our food. Ambiance: 5/5 This place is lively and feels a little upscale. They have an outdoor seating area as well. Overall, I would come back here for the food, but maybe not the drinks.

That's not all, tip will also be requested when checking out. Our Visit: My family and I have visited Elena's before and had a good experience, which is why this visit was so disappointing. This time, we noticed a clear drop in food quality, portion sizes, overall service and an unexpected new surprise on the bill. I came in with my wife, our two young children (10month old and 2 year old), and my mom. Unfortunately, the pita bread was stale, a portion of my wife's chicken was undercooked, the portions were noticeably smaller than before, and the server completely forgot my mom's drink. Those issues alone were frustrating, but what really stood out were the added fees at the end, fees that were not charged in the past. We were charged a 20% "large party fee", along with an additional "service fee". When I spoke with the owner, he explained that their system automatically applies a large party charge to any group of 4 or more people, including babies who don't even order food. That threshold seems unusually low, especially since most places consider 6 or more a "large party" and from my experience typically don't consider babies 2 years and younger as occupants. Even more concerning, none of these fees were clearly communicated to us beforehand. Being surprised with multiple charges at the end of a meal feels misleading and leaves a bad impression. To add to that, after already including these fees, the payment process still prompts customers to leave an additional tip. I've only seen this type of fee structure at higher-end restaurants and for more people, not at a casual spot like this, and even then it's usually disclosed upfront. If a business is going to charge extra, the service and overall experience should reflect that. My recommendation for Elena's, if you want to make more money, just raise your food prices so your customers at least know how much they're going to spend at the end. Not slap surprise charges at the end and force your customers to pay. On a positive note, at least they were playing Fast and the Furious on their TV. PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILL. Please be aware of their shady business practices.
