I had a craving for Persian food and freshly made Persian flatbread; but I didn't feel like driving all the way to West LA. I searched via Yelp for a closer place and found Pardis. All I can say is I can't believe I've never visited this place before. Couldn't believe what I've been missing all this time. Raffi's seems to be the most popular place around here; but IMHO, Pardis is so much better. The ambiance is more modern and upscale than most of its peers. The service was very attentive and friendly. Like Shaherzad and Flame is west LA, Pardis serves piping hot flat bread made freshly on site. Once one tries this bread one will never go back to the prepackaged dry pita most places serve. I also found Ikra here, which is not always offered at other Persian places. It's a combination of mashed charred tomatoes and egg plant. It's a delicious diversion from babaghanoush with the same smoky flavor. It's a perfect spread for the flat bread The chicken koobideh was perfectly grilled and the texture of the ground chicken was smooth and juicy. The chicken kabob was also delicious. We opted for the dark meat and it had a perfectly charred crust and was super tender and juicy. Sorry Flame and Roffi. I've found my mew favorite Persian restaurant. read more

There's a lot of competition for great food here in Glendale, so the great restaurants really shine through. I was really impressed by Pardis. Immediately upon coming in, the first thing I noticed was 1. how bright and nice the place is and 2. how many large group dinner parties seemed to be taking place at once. My sister and I ordered the Soltani Kabob plate ($31) and a side of ikra ($10) to share. It ended up being more than enough for both of us; there were leftovers we took home. It was so delicious! The ikra was recommended by both Yelp and our lovely server, and it was such a delicious, rich flavor with so much depth-- the roasted eggplant flavor really shined through. I've only had the version from a jar before, so it was such an awakening to experience the real deal. I noticed that the "order" option here on Yelp (fulfilled by grubhub) looks way more expensive; for example, the soltani is $6 more. I know that they have to mark up their prices for the huge cut that services like grubhub take, so just wanted to make sure you were all aware. read more

Born and Raised with this type of food, But first time to this place, Parking : plenty , something rare ! In Glendale . Nice and clean Plenty of space to sit inside, patio or the open area where they call it garden. Full bar and as first time customer i was given a cold Armenian loger beer while waiting for my food. Legit. Everything is so fresh. You can tell they're using top-notch ingredients. We got a variety of kabobs and they were all so tender. The salad shirazi felt garden fresh. We came as a party of 2 with a third to join us later for dessert and wine. I was the first customer to arrive since I came in very shortly after opening. I thought it was a beautiful restaurant. The outdoor patio space was also very nice, especially since our third's dog was allowed. Since we were first, the service was stellar. Douglas gave us good recommendations and we ordered quite a lot. The manager even let us taste 2 wines, which was a good sales tactic. My partner ordered a bottle. All the food was delicious with huge portions. The chicken was the best with great flavor and texture. Maybe only the lamb was more so so. We had plenty of leftovers and then went outside to join our third with the dog. We ordered 3 desserts and our third ordered an appetizer, which I don't remember. All the desserts were good, but I don't remember all the names. One or two were firsts for me. It was also my first time having Armenian wine. The Armenian red was better than the cab or merlot or whatever it was. The manager came and let us taste the white wine while eating dessert and my partner ordered a bottle again! Went here for dinner over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and the service was phenomenal! A lot less pretentious than other Armenian food places in town. We sat in the back patio which is really awesome. They have heaters and a fire put. We felt appropriately distanced from other tables. They also have an indoor area and a back patio for large groups. I also liked that you can call in advance to reserve. When we got to the table, a big basket of the yummy flatbread was put out so we had to get hummus. Homemade and delicious... so much better than the store-bought stuff. The waitress also informed us of a wine sale that night going on, so my family and I split a bottle of red for $25 -- which is an amazing deal for a restaurant. We also ordered the Panir-O-Sabzi appetizer which was basically a big block of feta cheese served with walnuts and veggies. So simple but so delicious - especially with the wine! For dinner- my family ordered two plates of the Barg Kabob- which is thinly sliced filet mignon. It was perfectly sliced and seasoned and not too salty like other places I've been to, We had three people in our group and were hungry and two plates was definitely enough. They serve family style here. We saved some room for dessert and the waitress recommended we get rose water ice cream which was really interesting. Definitely tasted the floral notes! It is a nice change from the older/traditional restaurants that have persian rugs hanging everywhere as decor. lighting was sexy and minimal~ Furniture was modern and comfortable. Bar area is beautifully designed and also a focal point in the restaurant. .....only issue is it was FREEZING. I HATE HATE HATE...did I say HATE?..air conditioning blowing on me. I easily get sick. I switched tables 2x to get away from the direct air and grabbed a jacket. This isnt a prison or an airplane..no reason to keep it at 65 degrees. The quality of food keeps going down not the same when they first opened up. They good greedier and cheaper by time. They are soooo cheap that they dont even put bread woth your food. When we first walked in (for pickup) it was great, but then the front desk person got busy so our food sat getting cold for like 10 minutes while people just buzzed around. The falafel delight was a delicious and fresh/moist combo whereas the Uzun Burun consisted of wonderfully tender sturgeon (a fish that is rarely available in takeouts but could be the result of Padis' next door neighbor Fish King?). Equally great was the fish kabob, whereas the chicken shish kabob was delicious but pretty much comparable to others; the Mast-O-Khiar provided a fresh note. They always get the orders wrong and today when I ordered from GrubHub the order that was delivered was missing all the main course items I ordered other than a a side dish of yogurt, Ikra and my drinks. The actual meal was missing. Called the restaurant and they said they gave the full order to the delivery person and basically said "not our problem" Terrible customer service. The food is great! We love Persian food and they do it right. We did the basics as the starters and every 2 adults shared an entree and it was more than enough food. The service was great and all the servers were more than gracious. The new bartender even came to our table and went into depth on each of their specialty drinks. The ambiance is very nice. I replied "medium rare" and also said "Red inside". Picked it up and my lamb rack was so well done that even bones were burned. First time we dined at the restaurant, got the same very well done, sent it back and while everyone on my table had finished their food, mine arrived! A month later. Placed a pickup order and got the same type overcooked. Today was the third and last time of Pardis. When called and asked for a manager, someone else spoke with me saying that he's busy. When I insisted, he said I'll relay your complaint and said that he's saying "we can send you another one"! Go figure! I, really, really like this place. But it's kinda pricey. That being said, the food is really-really good. Pardis, a Persian restaurant, feels more like "higher class" dining, so to speak, than say, Raffis Place (the best Middle Eastern food in town). Pardis' Salmon is delish, the hummus is yum, and the portions are pretty large. The menu isn't that big, which is fine, and I hope this restaurant succeeds as the restaurant that was at this location (which was yum) didn't succeed (probably due to bad customer service). So, hopefully, Pardis focuses on service too because the food is awesome! read more

The service we received was more than terrible. After being sat down, we waited up around 25-30 minutes to even receive menus and water. This was only after we had actively waived down the waiters for some time. I understand that waiters can be busy, but by the time we had received our menus, two parties that had arrived 10 minutes after us had already been served their appetizers. After another 30 minutes of waiting for our order to be taken, I once again waived down a waiter who shut me down immediately. After seeing that another party that arrived 30 minutes after us had received their appetizers as well, we left. Unfortunately, unless you look "rich" (white), they waiters will not pay any attention to you. The tables around us, filled with white people, had waiters visiting their tables every couple of minutes. I make hummus and I love to eat hummus - Pardis is among the best in a huge bowl with thin fresh bread. Service - delightful. If you like persian bbq, you got to come here. Its authentic. They are known for there kebabs and soltani. We went with 20 people. We ordered family style, so we got a little of everything which was perfect. You can sit inside or you can sit outside in there little patio in the back which we did.
