Mixed fajitas for one
Susan H.

Mixed fajitas for one. The fajitas were definitely tasty, however, the rice was undercooked and the beans were bland. Server was nice and attentive.

Blackberry Cobbler

There are a lot of different food spots to choose from in the Energy Corridor. This was one of the only restaurants that was still open for different past 8 PM. I was surprised to see that it was EMPTY for dinner when I came by at 7:45. There were probably 4 other guests in the whole restaurant. I sat down at the bar area and Michael came to take care of me. Service was a bit slow which was surprising because no one else was there... took a while to get my water and to place my order. I got the Chicken Florentine with the Texas Smashed Potatoes and Fried Okra. I then couldn't pass up homemade blackberry cobbler for dessert which hit home with a nice scoop of vanilla on top! There's plenty of bar seating and regular dining, it was just quiet and slow. Seems like a good local watering hole to check out.

Chicken fried steak / ribs and sausage plate

Service was very good here as is the atmosphere. Had the chicken fried steak and ribs/sausage plate. The portions are big and everything was really tasty. The ribs were super tender.

Margarita on the rocks

Public Service announcement!! If Erica is bartending make sure you get a seat at her bar!! The bartender Erica is amazing, we came for a relaxed evening and is super friendly and welcoming offering great conversation and yummy drinks while making sure the whole bars cared for. The wait staff is awesome and very friendly too. Even when crammed with work they never make you feel bad for a question and offer a smile. The foods always that home comfort goodness and the atmosphere is a western home. It's clean and they have great music playing. My only complaint is the actual manager working tonight. I had to ask because all of the workers were busting their butts and working really hard and Dave sat at the front not helping at all which seemed really weird for a manager to not help. Normally places I go to if things need any help the managers don't have an issue. He comes across as lazy and disinterested so if you ever need a manager hope DAVE isn't working. I still am giving it five stars because other than the uncaring lazy manager the workers food and drinks were awesome and I will definitely return to sit at the bar with Erica and have my margarita.

Bun less wonder with creamy coleslaw
Debra B.

Pappy's Café is an excellent place to visit many times because they have an extensive menu. This is the second time that someone in our group has had the Bunless Wonder which is a large Patty of moist beef on lettuce with a variety of ingredients on top. It includes a side. I had the creamy coleslaw, which is excellent. The coffee is good. I did not have dessert this time, but they have a variety of desserts served with ice cream. The service is excellent. We never wanted for anything. It is also a unique café because of the variety of Western items everywhere.

Chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes

Terry was AMAZING! Hands down the best service we've had in a long time. Super friendly, on top of everything, and made the whole experience so fun. The food was also incredible--every bite was delicious. Especially The chicken fried chicken was out of this world! We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Thanks, Terry!

Came to Steak 48 in Houston for my birthday dinner and had a great experience. My boyfriend and I…read moreshared a ribeye (medium-well). I'm not even a steak person -- I usually order chicken -- but I actually ate a good amount and really enjoyed it. We ordered the sweet potato soufflé, mac & cheese, and corn. Everything was equally good. The sweet potato soufflé was smooth, creamy, buttery, and perfectly seasoned. The mac & cheese was rich with nicely toasted breadcrumbs, and the corn was solid. Only disappointment was the rolls. They weren't bad, just nothing special. Texas Roadhouse still has the best rolls . Service was top tier, and overall Steak 48 absolutely delivered. It rivals Little Alley Steak in ATL, which says a lot coming from me. Great birthday dinner.

From the moment we walked in, they were welcoming and friendly, the server patiently explained their highlights and recommendations. It's clear the restaurant is very intentional about their food choices. The manager even wrote a personalized birthday card for me and gave us a follow up call the next day to check in on our experience which was very kind of them. In regards to the food, it was delicious but we didn't find it exceptional enough to justify the high price point. The meal started off with complimentary bread service that you could choose with sea salt or garlic parmesan topping. The bread was so fluffy, warm, and comforting. We ordered the Braised Pork Belly, which was surprisingly tender and juicy, and the sauce complimented it very well. We ordered the regular size bone-in KC Strip to share. It was a huge portion and they give you extremely hot plates so that the steak stays warm and sizzly on your plate once you eat it. We were pretty impressed by how juicy and tender it was. The corn creme brulee and Boursin cheese whipped potatoes we had as sides were great complements to the dish. At the end of our meal, they treated us with a complimentary Cookies and Cream Popcorn Sundae which was super unique and really delicious. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant if you're willing to ball out and celebrate for a special night.

The only unfortunate part of my experience was that the two of us at my table got the same dish - biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was dense but softened under the rich and savory gravy, and I got my eggs over easy to get the yolk mixed in. I also added some of their house-made habanero curry hot sauce, which is absolutely delicious. I'll definitely have to try a few other dishes next time! Their coffees are also great, with unique flavors for their lattes like spiced guava and molasses. Both of these were super tasty, hot and iced! Ultimately 93' Til is staying on my brunch list as a top tier choice, I can't wait to come back!

Located in Midtown this cute spot offers good music, fine food, and great ambiance. The mood is set with a soundtrack of classic hits playing in the background, and let's not forget about that bathroom, it's wild! I mean, I got a whole "duolingo" French lesson (the language of love) while washing my hands! Things like that definitely set this place apart from the rest. I was greeted warmly from the second I stepped in the door! While I waited for my party to arrive I sat at their bar area and ordered a Pineapple Mule served with a smile. Right off the bat I connected with James , one of the waitstaff who also happened to be serving our table. He was so the BEST! Hands down the most awesome waitstaff I've ever met. He made our time there special. I felt like I've known him for years, and he knew just how to connect with each person in our group! We all fell in love with him instantly! Tonight (likely due to the Valentine's Day crowd) the meal was pre-set for every guest. This meal included bread, salad, and Collette steak in their special sauce, with fries. There were dessert options as well, from which I chose a key lime pie. And an assortment of after dinner coffees. What blew my mind was that they came around and offered more food to us after finishing our first entree plate! I wasn't expecting that, and was pleasantly surprised. Parking for this location sits right behind the restaurant, a parking garage that is free. Because of the number of shops and restaurants around (an especially since this was Valentines weekend) parking can be at a premium during certain points of the day, so think about that when coming. There is also street parking available too. Seating for Medium Rare is offered both inside and outside (patio). The price average for this place is moderate, and folks can dress up or down. It is a beautiful place for a girls night out, date night, celebrations, brunch, etc! I had a wonderful time here! An amazing experience for sure. P.S. they give you Bazooka gum at the end of your meal! That brought back good memories for sure! This was my first time coming, and it won't be my last. This place is definitely worth checking out! Enjoy!

We were seated immediately and our server was very attentive throughout our time there. I opted for the benedict and mimosa and the salad to start. The food was pretty average overall - my highlights were the mimosas (I chose orange over cranberry) and the fries that came with my benedict. The steak bits were too well done for my preference. The interior is really bright and there are lots of tables as well as some seating outside. A good value for brunch tbh as you get bottomless drinks + a starter + a main. There is free parking in the garage behind the restaurant.
