Wow ! Where do I start... first come in and ask to buy a round of shots for a wedding party THAT WE CALLED AHEAD ABOUT . They act like it's a favor to serve us and sell alcohol. First off they ask if a bridesmaid has shoes on. If they spend 30 seconds watching instead of assuming they would see that the lady had flip flops on and was carrying her heels. Then when you don't think it could get worse , we have a diabetic in our group who they wouldn't serve orange juice to help her regulate blood sugar. Wow I am a big advocate for small business but this proves with the wrong captain , you ship will sink. If you would like to get sick then come here. The food looks good in the pictures but it has a lot of grease and salt on it. I did not try any of the drinks here which probably are good but you eat here I would suggest going elsewhere. I took 2 bites out of my sandwich and liked the cheese and onions on it but did in the first bite with no meat. The second bite of this sandwich was pretty bad. I talked to the waitress and she was like we can't exchange any food if you took a bite out of it. This is our 2nd visit to Pappy McGregor's and it did not disappoint! We came on a Tuesday around 4:30pm so getting a table was instantaneous. Our server promptly brought waters and answered any questions we had. It was happy hour, so we started with the Crispy Brussel Sprouts & Pepper Jack Bacon Tater Tots. The Brussel Sprouts were cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The Tater Tots had a good kick to them and were very flavorful. For our meal, we ordered the Caprese Sandwich with Garlic Fries and Prime Dip with a side salad. The Caprese was so delicious! The basil pesto balanced well with the fresh mozzarella and ciabatta. The garlic fries were well seasoned and crispy. The Prime Dip was tasty. The au jus elevated the flavors within the sandwich. Food was great. Service was spectacular. This was our second visit to Pappy's, and it looks like it's going to become a regular spot for us when we visit Paso. Its prime location in downtown overlooking the park makes it ideal for a meal after walking around. The seating is mainly at high top chairs and tables, though the chairs have backs and are fairly comfortable. Our server was really attentive and helpful in recommending both drinks and food. We tried two cocktails on this visit, The Final Say and Fairest of Them All. We all preferred the latter, but we've yet to have a bad drink here. As for the food, their sandwiches and burgers are definitely the main entrees I'd recommend! Their garlic fries are really heavy on the garlic (a win in my book), so keep that in mind if you're torn between those and original. Later in the evening and/or during a big game this place can get louder and rowdier, so if you're looking for a quieter meal I'd recommend coming in a bit earlier. All in all, Pappy's has become a really solid dining spot in Paso! read more

Every time we come to Paso, we eat at Taste! But this time, we figured we needed to branch out. Enter Pappy McGregor's. This pub style restaurant filled with classic comforts was perfect for a mid day meal. We arrived at opening time and were immediately seated. They have a few different dining area options with some outdoor seating as well as space to sit at the bar. The space did fill up real quick though! I ordered the Reuben sandwich and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meat. The sandwich was filled with thick and juicy cuts of meat with a delicious slaw and sauce on top. The side salad was actually a big highlight as well. I can't think of any other place I've been to where I thought the side salad was the standout but it was really good. It came with a creamy balsamic that was perfect. I could've eaten an entire plate of the simple side salad and been delighted. We also ordered the short rib jalapeño burger. It was thick and meaty! Our waitress said it was her favorite and it didn't disappoint. We will definitely add Pappy's to our Paso rotation! I can't wait to try the meatloaf next. read more

We went on Saturday evening just before the Christmas Parade. We did not have a reservation. Waited about 10 min. Seated inside. Host was friendly and routed us thru the crowd being careful with my need as I am using a cane. Waiter was very friendly. I had the meatloaf dinner. Very tasty meatloaf on a bed of mashed potatoes. with grilled asperagas and carrots on the side. Veggies were fresh and crisp. My wife had the Pub burger with garlic fries. I needed to use the bathroom after waiting and waiting but the Dude at door said I could not go in without paying $5 cover charge. GREAT FOOD! We first stopped at a nearby Steak House with the goal of a nice family out only to be told they don't take walk-ins (restaurant was nearly empty). When we sat down at PM's the restaurant was busy but not full. We ordered calamari to start with that was both crunchy and soft inside, not chewy. Then we ordered steak, meatloaf, lobster Mac and the shrimp pasta. EVERYTHING was exceptional. Steal was perfectly cooked. meatloaf was very tasteful and perfectly paired with mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. Lobster Mac and Cheese was everything we hoped for. And Shrimp pasta was in a beautiful, delicate cream and wine sauce that perfectly complimented the wonderful pasta. This place is ludicrous. My brother walks in, and because he was thinking about what he wanted to drink the bartender refused to serve him. I tried to nicely talk with the bartender. I told him I respect that you would turn down service to someone who appeared impaired, but if you turn people down as often as you say you do. Maybe you consider a breathalyzer because my brother is stone cold sober. He was just thinking about what he wanted. He said I don't want to question his mental state. I said but you already have and now your putting the restaurant in risk by judging him because he took 10 seconds to think of what he wanted which was a bloody Maria so he said bloody Mary but with Tequila. This is not pub food, it's the real deal. I never have meatloaf dining out, but our server said it was unbelievable and he was accurate, excellent preparation, texture and flavor.
