We were looking forward to the both the raw and Rockefeller oysters since our last visit. It did not disappointment! The Caesar salad was a nice surprise, we really enjoyed it! Service was quick and straightforward. Not over the top nor underwhelming Will always come back!

Such a fun place with great food! They have a huge space I can imagine gets filled up on weekends or game nights. Came here on a Wednesday night and had the room almost to ourselves. Everyone from the hostess, the servers, and the bartenders were super kind. We both got the Short Rib Jalapeño burger, hers was lettuce wrapped. We got side salads instead of fries, she got french onion soup and I got the chili. To start off the salads were good, nothing special but not bad at all. The chili was exceptional, very good flavor, meaty with chunks of ribeye, and a ton of cheese and red onions just how I like it. The French Onion soup was delicious, covered in cheese, and very rich. Now the burgers.....they were phenomenal tbh. The cheese was so melty and mixed with the aioli so nicely plus a little kick from the jalapeño. The patty was cooked nicely leaving it juicy, and the short rib on top was perfect. I would come back for this burger! They have some fun cocktails too, we both got a smoked maple old fashioned. They bring it out with smoke in the glass, you can certainly taste it!

This was my second visit to Pappy McGregor's in about six months. It had been recommended by friends who live in the area, and my first experience was solid enough that I was looking forward to coming back. On my first visit (evening), we walked in without a reservation and were quickly seated at the last available table. The place had a lively atmosphere, and it looked like part of the space turns into more of a dance floor later in the night. I had the French onion soup, raw oysters, and the pot pie, all of which were good. The pot pie in particular is something I would recommend. This most recent visit was for lunch on a weekday. There were plenty of open tables, and we were seated right away. Parking was easy, which is typical outside of busy weekends. The experience this time around was more mixed. We wanted to order oysters Rockefeller, but they were completely out of oysters, which was disappointing. I ordered a black and tan, which tasted fine, but it came with a design on top that I wasn't expecting. Not a big deal, just different from what I had in mind. For food, my girlfriend ordered the blackened salmon and said it was good. I went with the corned beef and cabbage. The corned beef itself was flavorful and served over mashed potatoes, which were well done. The cabbage, though, wasn't what I expected. Instead of a more traditional preparation, it was grilled with char marks and topped with au jus. The texture came out a bit rubbery and didn't really absorb the flavor well, which made that part of the dish underwhelming. Service was okay but not great. My water ran empty at one point, and I had to ask for a refill. We also ordered boneless wings as an appetizer and asked for extra ranch, which didn't come out until we reminded the server. The biggest issue, though, was something I noticed from our table with a partial view into the kitchen. An employee had their shoe up on a shelf that appeared to be holding clean dishes, which didn't come across as sanitary. I also saw food being adjusted on a plate by someone who didn't appear to be the cook. I can't speak to what's happening behind the scenes in terms of handwashing or procedures, but visually, it raised concerns. That part of the experience honestly left a bad impression. Between that, the missed items, and some inconsistencies with the food, it changed how I feel about coming back. My first visit had me excited to return, but after this one, I'm not sure I would.

Always a good place to have a bite. The portions are great and everything tastes freshly cooked. We also come for the lunch specials that are fairly priced.

Ok this place is a gem. I cannot get enough of how sweet the staff was and how amazing the food was. Not to mention they accommodate dogs in two different patios. Ryland was our server and is a national treasure. She helped serve us and our extra needs with ice for our dog due to the heat. The food was amazing. It was hearty and hit the spot well. The area is a perfect spot to hit for their nice dining options for indoors and outdoors and kind staff.

Traveling for work and decided to pop in here for dinner. Glad I did!!! I ordered the corned beef and cabbage plate. It was delicious! I sat at the bar and everyone was very friendly that works there. Lighting was perfect for the time of day and the restaurant stayed busy. Wine is good price. I would highly recommend when in town

5/5 Stars Had such a great time at Pappy McGregor's! This place gives off total Irish pub vibes--even though I've never been to Ireland, it feels like the real deal. I started with a whiskey sour, and wow--it was incredible. You can tell they use egg whites because of that silky foam top. It was one of the best I've had. I also did a pickleback shot (Jameson followed by pickle juice), which is always a favorite of mine, and they nailed it. For food, I ordered the tomato bisque soup, and it was next-level. The croutons were perfectly seasoned and crunchy, and it came with a grilled cheese sandwich that had crispy melted cheese on the outside of the bread--so flavorful and satisfying. The atmosphere here is awesome--cozy, lively, and welcoming. There's a separate bar area if you're just grabbing drinks, and they also offer patio seating, which is a nice option on warm evenings. The staff was super friendly and everything felt really well-organized. I even ended up buying some merch--a hoodie for me and a trucker hat for my partner. Both are great quality and a fun way to remember a great night. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in Paso Robles and looking for a laid-back, delicious, and fun experience.

If you haven't tried Pappy's yet, go now! It's one of my fav Irish pubs and always my first stop when I visit the area. Everything on the menu is great and the staff is always on it. I usually sit in the bar (they have both high and low tables), they do have a dining room, and another back area with seating. I recommend coming early as they get busy. Lunch deals M-F 11am-3pm. Short Rib Jalapeño Burger with Garlic Fries
    Jesse G.

First time here and love that they're open later than most places in this area. The waiter and bartender were cool and made the experience fun. Short Rib Jalapeño Burger 5/5: seriously delicious. The beer cheese smothering the burger was phenomenal. If there had been an egg on top, this would have been dangerous. Garlic Fries 5/5: garlicky just how I wanted with a snap to them like a baby carrot Guinness 4/5: they use this really cool laser to create designs on top of the foam. Unfortunately it leaves a taste that is not pleasant. Overall, would definitely recommend. Great food and great atmosphere.

How late is the kitchen open for late evening grazing (on Sunday 12/29/24)?

Our kitchen closes at 9pm. But we offer personal pepperoni pizzas after the kitchen closes made by our bartender.

Will you have the us vs England game on Friday?

    Sorry, no we will not.

Do you have outside seating for cigar smoking?

Hi we do have a outdoor rear patio that we allow cigar smoking after dinner service 9pm or later Sunday-Thursday nights. Friday/Saturday nights we do not allow due to the large late night crowds we get.

    Do you guys do delivery?

Hi, no we don’t. There is a local company called Fetch, that will pick up orders for you and deliver. But we don’t work with any companies like Uber Eats or Grubhub.

    Do you serve Dingle Gin?

They don't split checks, so be ready to order as a group. There's a 90 minute time limit as well, so don't dawdle. Highlights of our order included the Butter Pecan Old Fashioned (so good!) and the Banana Daiquiri. We stayed for the full 90 minutes and when we left there was a long line waiting to get in. We ended up checking in at the restaurant next door and they told us where to find it and to let them know that we had a reservation. (Not sure if everyone has to do this extra step or if you can just go here) We let the gentleman working know that we had a reservation when he popped out from the peep hole. We first went into a very small room full of books and he explained the process and locked our phones in a bag. They take this seriously. You were not going to have access to your phone. I'm sure the material was made to protect it from getting anything sneaky through. They do, however, tell you to keep the phone with you so it is always in your posession. The inside was quite beautiful. It felt like a speakeasy, quiet and through magical doors where you are not meant to be found. We were seated at the bar and were immediately given water. I first started with a raspberry mojito. I forgot what my husband got the first time. For his second drink he tried their version of the Grasshopper which claimed to taste just like mint and chip ice cream. He was absolutely blown away and said "Wow!" every time he took a sip. I tried it and it was spot on! I didn't want another alcoholic beverage so I got their mocktail version of an Orange Julius and it was delicious! We told the bartender (I forgot his name) how amazing the drinks were and especially the Grasshopper and he got into it and told us how it is made and what processes they go through. It actually has milk but you would never know by looking at it. Service was great. When we left we had to hand the bartenders our bagged phones so they could use a machine to unlock it. I told them this felt like Fort Knox. Too funny.

The Fried Chicken came out hot and fresh, and they definitely give you plenty. The flavor was good, but most of the seasoning was in the crust rather than the meat itself. Without the crust, the chicken didn't have quite enough seasoning for my taste. That said, the crust was crispy, flavorful, and definitely did its job. Now, the Shrimp & Grits were a HIT! Buttery deliciousness and a straight-up flavor bomb! The grits were perfectly cooked, and the shrimp were tender, buttery, and delicious. Definitely a winner. They have a nice bar, it seems cute for a date night or to grab cocktails with a few friends. Pretty simple menu, they specialize in wood-fired pizzas and cocktails. We got the seasonal salad, which was solid. This rotates based on what's in season - it had nectarines, tomato, burrata - nice and clean, but the portion was pretty small. We also got the chicken cutlet, which came covered in a salad-type mixture. The salad topping was actually great, I would've eaten this as a salad by itself, but the chicken cutlet didn't have much flavor or seasoning. The sun-dried tomatoes in the topping helped add flavor, but on its own, the chicken was very thick and bland. We also got 2 pizzas, Girl Crush and Chicago Fire. These were thin crust pizzas, and while the dough and the toppings were good, there was WAY too much cheese on them. I say this as a cheese lover, but the pizzas were weighed down so heavily by the cheese that it was very difficult to pull slices apart. The ratios just seemed off. Flavor wise, we preferred the Girl Crush. The lemon fragrance is pretty strong on the Chicago Fire, so it overpowered the other flavors. Lastly, we ended with the classic tiramisu, which was good - nice and light, not too sweet. Food was just okay, our server Adam was great!!

She never stopped hustling and kept everything moving with a great attitude. Honestly, the fact that one person was left to run the entire cafe by herself feels like a management staffing issue, not an employee issue. Management should make sure the cafe is properly staffed, and if someone calls in sick or doesn't show up, leadership should step in to help rather than leaving one employee to carry the entire workload alone. That said, our cafe experience remained positive largely because of her work ethic and professionalism. She deserves recognition for holding it all together and taking care of guests under what looked like a very stressful situation. I only wish I had gotten her name.

Not the best Marriott experience. At check in I asked to get…read morea room as high up and away from the elevator. She put us on the 4th floor right next to the elevator. It was extremely loud every time someone would get off the elevator. Our room was also on the back of the building by the highway and the road got pretty loud. Luckily I had my sound machine which helped a little but it was still pretty loud. The room itself was clean but they only gave 3 towels for a room with 2 beds. I feel like 4 should be the minimum. The beds were also so hard and the pillows were not good. We did not sleep well. They have a nice big open lobby and a bistro that we didn't go to. They have water in the lobby but it tasted weird. Parking is confusing because the front desk never asked if I had a car. She gave me a parking pass in the stack of check in stuff but I didn't notice it. The next morning I got a notice on my windshield that I didn't check in my car. When I went to talk to her about it she said she would take care of it. I still don't understand if parking is free, or not. I saw QR codes outside on signs to pay for parking.
