I've been coming to this location with the same friend for several years. We were happy with the quality and service. Now, the prices have jumped up to be much higher. Inflation is affecting businesses everywhere, so it's fair raise prices, but now most of the entrees are over $40. I have a shrimp allergy. Quite a few of the entrees have shrimp. In the past, the shrimp has been switched out with crab, with no problem. Tonight, I ordered the "Rainbow Trout & Jumbo Crab", which also comes with shrimp. This time, I was told that there would be a $5 upcharge to switch the shrimp with crab, which is the price for adding crab to any order. No amount would be taken off for leaving off the shrimp. I declined, and accepted that they would simply leave off the shrimp. Then, my entree had only half as much crab as my friend who had ordered the exact same thing, but kept the shrimp. So, apparently, I was punished for objecting to the upcharge to substitute crab for shrimp--they only gave me half as much for what comes with that entree. Every other seafood restaurant that I go to has been very accommodating to offer something to switch with shrimp on an entree (usually crab). This policy will cause me to choose one of these other restaurants, instead of Pappadeaux, in the future, along with my friends and family who come with me. read more

What do they say? 10/10 would recommend! Ambiance is energetic and lively. Seating is spacious with an outdoor patio that is great on a beautiful day. Adorned with a water fountain and ample seating, you'll have a great time. Indoors is darker with lots of overhead lighting to make it feel less stuffy. Service was super kind and helpful. Lots of smiles and warmth. Most questions were answered with cheer. I ordered the red fish with crab and shrimp over dirty rice with a lemon white wine butter sauce. Seafood was fresh and seasoned very well. Shrimp was overcooked but that happens from time to time. Butter sauce could have had more body to it as well. It has a big wine rack wall and the table is fairly large in the room so you aren't just getting up and leaving but it was private and can hold 10 and the door closes which was pretty cool. The service was great and they didn't forget about us in the closed off room. I went with the chopped salad with Salmon. The salad was huge and was a bit of work to finish it. There's a reason why Pappadeaux is my favorite restaurant and it was confirmed today. I wanted to try the hot honey gator bites but it has peanuts. I informed our bartender no peanuts due to food allergies. He alerted the manager who took time to come out to ask follow up questions about my allergies and assured me I would be safe. I took my cousin for her first time and made her a believer too. The calamari- delicious. The cocktails- delicious. We were seated quickly upon entering the restaurant adjacent to the bar in one of the circle booths. My spouse really enjoyed this location daily for lunch when working in the nearby office building. This location has plenty of parking spaces in the area and several handicap parking spaces in front of the restaurant. The parking lot is spacious enough for a crew cab type pickup truck to maneuver comfortably in the parking lot to find a parking spot. Host. We were greeted after being seated in the restaurant. The pace of our drinks and food was sufficiently quick for us to enjoy the drinks, the appetizer, and the main meal without feeling that we had been forgotten by the server. Our server was very efficient and mindful that we were there and his customers. This server definitely earned his 22% tip. The restaurant was clean as well as the restrooms when I went in to check. The food was hot when served and tasted as well as it looked when it arrived at the table. The bread one it was brought to the table was still warm enough to melt the butter and enjoy! I ordered the catfish and my spouse ordered the ginger salmon. We enjoyed the strawberry lemonade but one of the mocktails that I ordered was not good and too expensive for something I didn't like. We have frequented this place for years but lately it has gone down hill. Nearly all the tables were open yet we were seated an a dirty table. Service was very slow and inattentive. Food was a let down, had to pull shells off shrimp, fish was soggy, beer flat and stale. Seasoning primarily salt. She carefully went through the items on the menu and made suggestions. Amy suggested the shrimp and crawfish fondu and the blackened catfish and lump crab, we loved it! Former TX resident visiting from out of town I had to take advantage of a nearby Pappadeaux and am happy to say it has kept the same high standards of service, fun, and excellent engagement. We scurried in the last hour of service but we were not at all the only ones there and were not the very last out the door. We did have to ask for bread but it was worth the wait with that light crisp exterior yielding to soft warm luscious interior, with whipped salted butter alongside. Add that into the perfectly moist roast chicken and truly delicious fish and sides and I was in heaven. They even packed our leftovers and dessert to go and we enjoyed for breakfast the next day.
