I love Pappadeaux on a normal day, but it was great to come in and try something new during Pappas Restaurant Week. A portion of proceeds from the meals goes to local food banks. For the first course I chose the Shrimp Gumbo which had a surprising amount of shrimp in it. It was delicious and a great appetizer to start. The second course is where I decided to deviate from my usual and go with the Rainbow Trout & Jumbo Crab. The three types of seafood (trout, shrimp, crab) covered in the butter sauce were cooked to perfection. For the finished I went with the cheesecake. I had no idea their cheesecake was so delicious!! Our waitress Morgan was wonderful! The location had good parking. The Poboy was good. The jumbo shrimp were delicious, just wish I would've known it was garlic butter that was served with them as that would've probably enhance the flavor to another level. We also tried the gator bites for an appetizer, but they were gone before we thought to take a picture. The fried platter was good as well there was so much food. We could definitely not eat it all. Visited this place on a business trip for dinner 8/20 - I had a wonderful experience at this seafood restaurant! McKynzie provided exceptional service--she was very friendly, attentive, and incredibly fast. She made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. I ordered the Swamp Thing frozen drink and the Crawfish Platter, which included crawfish étouffée, dirty rice, and fried crawfish. Everything was absolutely amazing! I truly enjoyed this place! I honestly wasn't sure if I would at first, but everything ended up being such a great experience. The ambiance was clean and beautiful, and our server was so nice to talk to. She was especially sweet with my kids and carried such great conversations with them, which made us feel really welcomed. Such a fan of the chain for over 15 yrs so I was surprised that one of my favorite lunch options has changed a bit. The shrimp usually have a wonderful sear with Cajun seasoning on top . Adorned with a water fountain and ample seating, you'll have a great time. Indoors is darker with lots of overhead lighting to make it feel less stuffy. Service was super kind and helpful. Lots of smiles and warmth. Most questions were answered with cheer. I ordered the red fish with crab and shrimp over dirty rice with a lemon white wine butter sauce. Seafood was fresh and seasoned very well. Shrimp was overcooked but that happens from time to time. Butter sauce could have had more body to it as well. I've been coming to this location with the same friend for several years. We were happy with the quality and service. Now, the prices have jumped up to be much higher. Inflation is affecting businesses everywhere, so it's fair raise prices, but now most of the entrees are over $40. I have a shrimp allergy. Quite a few of the entrees have shrimp. In the past, the shrimp has been switched out with crab, with no problem. Tonight, I ordered the "Rainbow Trout & Jumbo Crab", which also comes with shrimp. This time, I was told that there would be a $5 upcharge to switch the shrimp with crab, which is the price for adding crab to any order. No amount would be taken off for leaving off the shrimp. I declined, and accepted that they would simply leave off the shrimp. Then, my entree had only half as much crab as my friend who had ordered the exact same thing, but kept the shrimp. So, apparently, I was punished for objecting to the upcharge to substitute crab for shrimp--they only gave me half as much for what comes with that entree. Every other seafood restaurant that I go to has been very accommodating to offer something to switch with shrimp on an entree (usually crab). This policy will cause me to choose one of these other restaurants, instead of Pappadeaux, in the future, along with my friends and family who come with me. read more

Finally got a chance to try this place while I was in Dallas, and it didn't disappoint. The calamari and octopus appetizer was easily one of the best things on the table--don't skip it. I went with the trout and shrimp, and the grilled shrimp were seriously on point, while the butternut squash was cooked just right. The gumbo was solid, the beer came out ice cold, and the service stayed sharp the whole time. Would've been nice to see a few local craft beers on the list, but that's a minor complaint. There's a reason why Pappadeaux is my favorite restaurant and it was confirmed today. I wanted to try the hot honey gator bites but it has peanuts. I informed our bartender no peanuts due to food allergies. He alerted the manager who took time to come out to ask follow up questions about my allergies and assured me I would be safe. We took my mother here for her Birthday. First our server did not know his job. We had to ask for bread. Then we placed our orders and ask for baked potatoes and he said they were out. I took my cousin for her first time and made her a believer too. The calamari- delicious. The cocktails- delicious. I had this new item on the menu-it had salmon, lump crab and I think they were called street noodles. It was so good! Feb2025: 5: I would recommend this location and this work group. I came to this location with my spouse to eat a late lunch and early dinner. We were seated quickly upon entering the restaurant adjacent to the bar in one of the circle booths. My spouse really enjoyed this location daily for lunch when working in the nearby office building. This location has plenty of parking spaces in the area and several handicap parking spaces in front of the restaurant. The parking lot is spacious enough for a crew cab type pickup truck to maneuver comfortably in the parking lot to find a parking spot. Host. We were greeted after being seated in the restaurant. The pace of our drinks and food was sufficiently quick for us to enjoy the drinks, the appetizer, and the main meal without feeling that we had been forgotten by the server. Our server was very efficient and mindful that we were there and his customers. This server definitely earned his 22% tip. The restaurant was clean as well as the restrooms when I went in to check. The food was hot when served and tasted as well as it looked when it arrived at the table. The bread one it was brought to the table was still warm enough to melt the butter and enjoy! I ordered the catfish and my spouse ordered the ginger salmon. We enjoyed the strawberry lemonade but one of the mocktails that I ordered was not good and too expensive for something I didn't like.
