I truly enjoyed this place! I honestly wasn't sure if I would at first, but everything ended up being such a great experience. The ambiance was clean and beautiful, and our server was so nice to talk to. She was especially sweet with my kids and carried such great conversations with them, which made us feel really welcomed. I've been coming to this location with the same friend for several years. We were happy with the quality and service. Now, the prices have jumped up to be much higher. Inflation is affecting businesses everywhere, so it's fair raise prices, but now most of the entrees are over $40. I have a shrimp allergy. Quite a few of the entrees have shrimp. In the past, the shrimp has been switched out with crab, with no problem. Tonight, I ordered the "Rainbow Trout & Jumbo Crab", which also comes with shrimp. This time, I was told that there would be a $5 upcharge to switch the shrimp with crab, which is the price for adding crab to any order. No amount would be taken off for leaving off the shrimp. I declined, and accepted that they would simply leave off the shrimp. Then, my entree had only half as much crab as my friend who had ordered the exact same thing, but kept the shrimp. So, apparently, I was punished for objecting to the upcharge to substitute crab for shrimp--they only gave me half as much for what comes with that entree. Every other seafood restaurant that I go to has been very accommodating to offer something to switch with shrimp on an entree (usually crab). This policy will cause me to choose one of these other restaurants, instead of Pappadeaux, in the future, along with my friends and family who come with me. read more

Such a fan of the chain for over 15 yrs so I was surprised that one of my favorite lunch options has changed a bit. The shrimp usually have a wonderful sear with Cajun seasoning on top . The gumbo was solid, the beer came out ice cold, and the service stayed sharp the whole time. Would've been nice to see a few local craft beers on the list, but that's a minor complaint. Seafood was fresh and seasoned very well. Shrimp was overcooked but that happens from time to time. Butter sauce could have had more body to it as well. I have been to other locations but a long time ago. I came as a part of a larger group and they requested a more private room and we got the wine room. It has a big wine rack wall and the table is fairly large in the room so you aren't just getting up and leaving but it was private and can hold 10 and the door closes which was pretty cool. The service was great and they didn't forget about us in the closed off room. I went with the chopped salad with Salmon. The salad was huge and was a bit of work to finish it. I went with medium well on the salmon since they said it comes medium rare. I highly suggest you try the chopped salad when pretending to be healthy!! There's a reason why Pappadeaux is my favorite restaurant and it was confirmed today. I wanted to try the hot honey gator bites but it has peanuts. I informed our bartender no peanuts due to food allergies. He alerted the manager who took time to come out to ask follow up questions about my allergies and assured me I would be safe. I took my cousin for her first time and made her a believer too. The calamari- delicious. The cocktails- delicious. We were seated quickly upon entering the restaurant adjacent to the bar in one of the circle booths. My spouse really enjoyed this location daily for lunch when working in the nearby office building. I ordered the catfish and my spouse ordered the ginger salmon. We enjoyed the strawberry lemonade but one of the mocktails that I ordered was not good and too expensive for something I didn't like. Tasty and filling with some of the party taking some home for lunch. The blackened catfish was on point and the shrimp right along with it. The étouffée was spectacular as expected. Former TX resident visiting from out of town I had to take advantage of a nearby Pappadeaux and am happy to say it has kept the same high standards of service, fun, and excellent engagement. We scurried in the last hour of service but we were not at all the only ones there and were not the very last out the door. We did have to ask for bread but it was worth the wait with that light crisp exterior yielding to soft warm luscious interior, with whipped salted butter alongside. Add that into the perfectly moist roast chicken and truly delicious fish and sides and I was in heaven. They even packed our leftovers and dessert to go and we enjoyed for breakfast the next day. The specialty cocktail was a bit sweet and weak which was a disappointment.
